Thoughts on dabihawks ?
Oooh okay, so I actually have complicated feelings regarding dabihawks.
I'll admit, I'm not usually the kind of person who likes enemies to lovers relationships. Usually in those dynamics there's a lot of excusing/accepting abusive and toxic behavior, and dabihawks isn't entirely devoid of this problem either. They're great as narrative foils and their personalities work well off each other, as they both share a natural cynicism and sense of humor, but they also believe in very different ideologies and of course are on opposite sides. Hawks is literally an Endeavor apologist while Dabi is the living proof of how awful Endeavor can be, so there's a genuine disconnect between them that makes building up a believable relationship for them a very difficult task.
That being said, I do not think it is entirely impossible, and it's one of the goals of the fanfic I'm working on (which is taking me too long to post, but it's coming I promise). I believe if their relationship starts from a place of common understanding and hardship, where they can truly empathize and rely on each other, then it will be strong enough to withstand them growing apart to fight on separate sides. A big inspiration I'm going to use for this is the dynamic between Ramses and Moses in the Prince of Egypt; the tension between Dabi and Hawks, which in the anime is mainly driven by their opposing ideals, will become more angsty in a romantic way if it's driven by the context that they've met in the past already, they've connected before, but they just don't understand each other's current states; though they want desperately to rekindle the spark they used to share.
So to be more succinct; I'm not a fan of canon dabihawks, but when it comes to fanon reinterpretation/fix it fics, I'm a big stan

Okay so, recently I’ve been having fun with tag chains to I decided to make one of my own?

Section I: Jonathan and Argyle
Note: I wrote like a lot of analyses concerning like stranger things relationships/friendships and this is the first section of it. Thank you to @corujalesbica for beta reading this and for putting up with my rambling. Just like anyone who interacts with this please be respectful and considerate, I hope to be able to interact with people through these types of posts and will make another post talking about this little project of mine. Thank you and I hope you enjoy!
My biggest problem with the show is the way these characters were written and the weird friendship they had based upon their common interest in weed and getting high.The problem I have with their friendship is that they only seem to share that in common. But in a show that is known for writing complex/in-depth relationships, such as the father-son relationship that Steve and Dustin have, the brief friendship we see between Nancy and Barb, that in its short-lived life was capable of showing that growing up means changing and fighting and a lot of ugly feelings. The show goes and explicitly states Barb’s loyalty to Nancy when she mentions that Barb went shopping with her, for A BRA that would impress Steve. What I’m trying to say is that every character and relationship the show has had, had a purpose. You could argue that Argyle’s purpose was to point out things the other’s didn’t see or the fact that, yes, there is a lot of salt in a pizzeria. But if that was he had to do, why not Jonathan have a part time job in a pizzeria and be the one to point out stuff (that mind you anyone with eyes would have seen) and save the trouble of expanding, an already very big group of characters.Instead, of just liking to get high together, why couldn’t Jonathan have made an ACTUAL FRIEND? Maybe a friend that is also considered a freak because of some BS reasons. After all, isn't this show for people that don’t seem to fit in? Isn’t that the target audience? And while having a friendship, like this, they could also happen to like getting high together. Through this friendship, maybe we could learn why Jonathan started using marijuana, when he previously showed no interest in doing drugs? Maybe due to PTSD, stress or something else. This is, I think, the first time he’s had an actual friendship (Canonically in the show) destined to not be romantic, like with Nancy. There was so much room and potential for this friendship and these characters respectively. Side-not here: I would also like to point out that in the car park thing Jonathan mentions he wants to stay in California to protect Will but we don’t actually see him actively being protective until there are guns pointed at their heads.
