I don't know this character, but comparing him to Claude has caught my interest. I will keep an eye out for him, the more I watch Dungeon Meshi.

Watching Marcille cry about eating Mandrake heads, the most delicious part, according to Senshi, reminds me of the time my cousin's kids got scared of the whole roasted pig at a large family party.
Or that video about little kids trying breakfasts from around the world, and the boy says, "there's a dead fish in here". lol
youtube
I personally, don't eat the heads very often (unless the fish is small or the animal is big enough for there to be worthwhile muscles on the face), but I'd hate to think of all the food I'd miss out on, if I grew up afraid to see the head of a dead animal. …Though, granted…I guess if I saw the roasted head of an animal I was unfamiliar with seeing roasted, I'd probably flinch. Something unexpected, like a dog or something….
That being said, though I'm glad to have grown up accustomed to seeing the full body of the animal I'm eating, I don't think it'd be good to force people to be exposed to things that make them personally uncomfortable. My dad grew up squeamish around blood or cutting animals or something. So when he was a kid, his uncle made him personally cut the throats and drain the blood of 50 pigs for some big party their family was having. The "exposure therapy" didn't work! To this day, my dad is even MORE squeamish about seeing skin cut. He won't even tolerate the fake scenes in movies.
So I guess my cousin was right to get her kids away from the whole roasted pig, when it scared them.
