Cassidy was somebody. Depending on who you asked would determine what kind of somebody they were. To the Royal Australian Air Force, they were the first non-binary fast-jet pilot on active duty who agreed to become the face of LGBTQI+ diversity within the force. To their moderate following of a few million fans, they were a down-to-earth, badass being who shared their experiences of being enby with the world. To the more politically savvy in Australia, they were a force to be reckoned with when they decided to voice their support on an issue. To the tabloids? They were easy material to smear against their father, the current Prime Minister. So when an invitation to participate in a handling demonstration in Arizona was passed down, they accepted. It was all to go as usual; they would fly the F-35, speak to the students, participate in some mock-combat sorties, pose for some photos, and wrap it all up with a series of vlogs. What they didn't count on, was the President of the United States of America attending. Or more specially; her son and his boyfriend, the Prince of Wales.

This was a concept I had floating around for ages. Think of it as Red, White, and Royal Blue 2: Electric Boogaloo. A queer, non-binary child of the current Prime Minister of Australia gets in cahoots with the First Son of America, and the ‘Spare to the Throne’ the Prince of Wales. Can the Super Six make room for one more member?

It would be a really interesting way to delve into the politics of Australia, and have a discussion about how we do (or do not) place our leaders on pedestals. To compare the iconic brand that is the British Royal Family, with the idolized American First Family, with a country that goes through more Prime Ministers a week than I do socks.

A country where a sitting Prime Minister disappeared while swimming at the beach and had a swimming pool named in his honour, or broke the record for sculling a beer at a footy game, or eats raw onions like apples.

Thanks to my amazing IRL friend who was the inspiration for Cassidy. If I ever wrote it, you are who I would want to be cast.

Concept: Veils are more widely worn in the ATLA universe for a variety of reasons

Zuko and Toph enjoy travelling together and their favourite disguise in the earth kingdom is: Strong earthbending noble escorting her shy, reclusive older brother.

People thought the Bei Fongs had one (1) daughter who was tiny, blind and fragile - until suddenly she was the avatar's earth bending master, so the public have accept that they know nothing about the Bei Fongs. Who's the say they DIDNT have another child that they carefully hid away? Especially considering THIS child is dressed in neutral browns and muted golds with a veil obscuring his face. And sometimes people catch a glimpse of gold eyes or scar tissue through the gauzy fabric. It makes sense that the Bei Fongs would hide away a child born of an affair with a firebender.

Toph loves playing the part of escort. She gets to boss him about, and drag him all around the best restaurants, and order an outrageous amount of food for him. It's nice having people default to speaking to HER as the authority figure, after spending so much time in the presence of the Avatar and the Fire Lord.

And Zuko gets to be anonymous. He's not the Fire Lord when he puts that veil on, he's a reclusive and fragile noble who no one looks to to make decisions. He gets to switch his brain off and let Toph drag him around and speak for him. It's freeing.

Also: please imagine the look on the Bei Fongs faces when they hear that everyone thinks they have a secret hidden firebending son who's galavanting around with their run away daughter. They'd be HORRIFIED. Toph knows this and RELISHES in it.

Y'know, I know Classic Poultry-man was the most popular in the fandom, but I really have a soft spot for his edgy 90s design when the creative team suddenly decided to go really dark with his stories. And I'm also a huge fan of the 2010s redesign he was able to get on the modern comics after years of no publication.

Exposing myself as a sun/moon fixated idiot here BUT, with everyone talking about bookbinding SL, I wanted to try my hand at designing a cover. In my brain, its that softcover leather, with gold foil embossed details but alas, despite owning a whole ass binding kit I do not have the skills to actually make it.

Anyway if you like Sun/Moon/the DCA from FNAF SB, I cannot recommend this fic enough. I’ve read it four times over now, including all the tie in stories, and it’s one of only 2 reader inserts I’ve ever liked in a decade of reading fic, honestly it’s just so good. Might do actual fanart for it one day when I gain confidence/motivation.

hey! do you consider yourself a furry? if so, do you enjoy being in the community? if not, what label do you use, and why? (been wanting to ask this for a while:))

Sure, I don't mind being called a furry. My art certainly qualifies as furry art and my characters are furry characters. But I've never been that connected or active in the furry fandom in general. There's a lot of core experiences that I'm missing: I don't have a fursona, I don't own a fursuit and I've never been to a furry con. My online circles are very furry-centric but I don't think any of my irl friends consider themselves furries, despite our shared tastes and interests.
