C!Niki Design Timeline
My thoughts about her design under the cut!
L’MaNiki
I have an art piece of everyone’s L’Manberg uniforms that Tumblr won’t let me link, but the general gist is that anyone who joined post revolution got to choose the shade of their coat, and got a light blue sash instead of a red one. They also don’t have the lines on the boots.
Elections
She dyed parts of her hair orange to match Fundy for coconut2020, and a lot of her outfit was styled to reflect to the people that she was loyal to L’Manberg - keeping the same collar shape as her uniform, wearing the same turtleneck, wearing the shoulder pads
Manberg
She dyed her hair! Niki tied the sash from her L’Manberg uniform around her leg as a sort of rebellious act against JSchlatt (which she did a lot of), showing she was loyal to Wilbur’s nation rather than his. She also tied the hairtie around her wrist. Her sweater is the mental-breakdown shade of pink that she dyed her hair later, showing that this was the start of her mental decline and that this was a massive period of loneliness.
Pogtopia
She cut her hair and put it up into pigtails so that it was out of the way while she was in the ravine. I headcanon that this was when she got Wilbur’s cloak and that he gave it to her once she joined. Also, despite not participating in a war yet she has a scar on her leg from being chased out of Manberg and murdered by Ponk on the day of Tubbo’s execution, which is what led to her joining Pogtopia. The L’Manberg hairtie is still on her wrist but the ones in her hair are the mental breakdown colour, however there is less of that pink on this design than the Manberg one as joining Pogtopia reunited her with many of her friends, so she didn’t feel as alone even if she was still scared.
Breakdown
This design is for the entirety of New L’Manberg, Doomsday, and the rocket duo arc, up until the point where she stopped trying to kill Tommy and focused more on her secret city (where she locked herself up due to sleepwalking and night terrors). This arc lasted a long time and goes acrosss multiple eras her appearance remained how it did from NLM because she had no motivation to change anything, despite usually taking pride in aspects of her appearance such as her hair (which had grown out slightly between Pogtopia and now). There is no a single reference to L’Manberg in this outfit but she does still have Wilbur’s cloak.
Healing arc
Niki’s healing began after joining the syndicate but I think the appearance change would not come until at least a few months after joining as she was still trying to find her sense of self again. When she did, she went back to her blonde hair but dyed half brown, like a reference to Ranboo and Puffy. She continues to wear Wilbur’s cloak but is now in a much classier fit, having spent too much time with Techno (who definitely gave her the gold). The L’Manberg hairtie is back, this time with a braid, because I think Syndicate braids is an even cooler concept than sbi braids

yall really liked this art so figured i should explain more about my buttonduo role swap au! some basic plot here and i might do more posts later on <3
Generally the au is that everything throughout the L'manburg revolution is the same as canon. Declaration of Independance, Eret building the walls Wilbur designed, drug van, etc.
everything except the original betrayal.
During the final battle, wilbur calls for ceasefire and approaches dream asking to talk
Eret knocks an arrow into their bow, hoping to strike Dream in the moment, but before they can raise it Wilbur waves the white flag.
L'manburg surrenders completely
Tommy, Tubbo, Fundy, and Eret are taken into custody. Dream states that Wilbur does not need to be arrested, as it's only due to his willing cooperation this rebellion could be put down.
A trial is held, with all L'manburgians declared guilty of sedition and treason. Eret is also tried for attempted assassination of a head of state, and for attempting to overthrow the government. Dream tacks on more crimes for Eret, as Wilbur asks for leniency to the kids.
Wilbur declares the executions and make the final call to carry them out. The rest of L'manburg respawns inside the van, feeling like they saw something waiting for them. Tubbo calls it oblivion. Eret thinks it's not as complete or final as oblivion, but an in-between or limbo state.
Either way, something is lost and taken away after their deaths. Dream calls it a "price to pay", Wilbur claims "this is always how it would end."
Wilbur is crowned king of the SMP, having met his end of the deal. "Why just be a president, when you could be king?"
Angry, betrayed and royally pissed off, the rest of L'manburg (now with niki and jack manifold) arrange a meeting to make a deal for the land of L'manburg to still be independent.
The deal is less than ideal, with L'manburg still being under SMP rule and following SMP laws as a requirement for them to host their own elections. effectively, a territory instead of a free nation of their own right.
Elections are still held but this time for a governor, everyone suspects Dream will not allow the elections to happen fairly.
Tommy doesn't run because he's still pissed off at Wilbur, especially when Wilbur suggests that he should.
Coconut2020 still runs, Fundy hoping to carry out the dream his father abandoned.
George still misses the event so Quackity calls in Schlatt, at Dream's recommendation, and the votes suspiciously all go to Schlatt. Especially when Wilbur endorses Coconut2020, and not him.
Schlatt decides later, after a key meeting with Wilbur and Dream, to still revoke citizenship of Tommy and this time Eret for their vocal dissent. The pair are banished from L'manburg as they are not citizens of the territory anymore.
Wilbur asks Tommy to stay in the castle with him instead, as we can pull some strings to keep his SMP citizenship. Even though Tommy adamantly says no, Eret convinces him to as it would be safer then following them.
Refusing to stay in SMP lands as they're still marked a traitor and could easily be arrested again for any petty reason, Eret vanishes into the woods and stumbles upon a ravine carving it's way underground.
Niki and Fundy continue to make a fight in L'manburg, despite Wilbur urging Fundy to drop it. Schlatt targets Niki again because of her outspoken behavior, even more so than in canon. The pair also smuggle supplies out to Eret by meeting them somewhere away from the ravine and the rest of the main server.
No one except Eret sees where they are now hiding, until Eret remembers only one thing they saw after their execution: They have an old friend they can always call on. They send out a /msg.
Foolish_Gamers joined the game.

cfundy and cniki were eveything. coconut2020 was eveyrthing. the woman in the back and the daughter in the shadow. another shame of the decanonized cfundy canon trans thing. cwilbur called fundy his son yes but he still treated him like a daughter. something to have rather than something to listen to. look I have a woman!!! how cool of us. look I have a kid!!! wow how cool of me. I will always be torn over cfundy as his fathers daughter. like. thinking back cfundy was always treated as a helpless, useless daughter. oh no you had a daughter instead of a son- what a shame. here you can raise your little brother to be a successor then. it was fundy has to make his own uniform cuz dad won’t let him have one and cwil put everything on tommy rather than his own son. cfundy was always the pitiful daughter. he could do anything tommy could!! but dad didn’t care- no not ever! cfundy is not around to do things- he is around to be a possessed child. something to own and say you take care of rather than being his own person. this is my son and I love him. yeaaah yeah. coddles him like a fucking toddler. fundy loved his mama and wilbur would neeever tell him shit about her. oh I think I lost her. oh hey fundy let’s go fishing isn’t that Soooo fun ^_^
okay tbh you can interpret any action in whatever way u want really and I like to interpret a lot of cwils actions as ignoring his son because I think it makes more sense with how selfish he was. he probably didn’t mean everything so bad but that’s kinda what interpretation is about. cfundy was so rebellious because of how his dad treated him after all. he hated him! but that’s kind of the thinsg with dads a little sometimes they do try, yes, but because of their previous neglect they usually only make things worse for you. they forget your mother- they forget you lover her an take you fishing. he asks you to fish up your cousins and your uncles for “bonding” instead of remembering Oh Wait! my son is part fish. hm maybe I shouldn’t do that.
