How CO₂ Price Affects Development of Electricity System? - Technology Org
Price is a key factor in purchasing decisions – this also applies to the CO₂ price and the transition to climate-neutral energy. Ariadne researchers at the Institute of Energy Economics and Rational Energy Use have investigated the effect of CO₂ price fluctuations on the development of the electricity sector.
The analysis by Ariadne researchers at the Institute of Energy Economics and the Rational Use of Energy (IER) shows, for example, that the use of renewable energies will increase by 2030 if the price of CO2 rises.
Although it is associated with higher costs than a low CO2 price trend, the energy transition is progressing faster, which is why the cost-benefit balance of early high CO2 price signals is positive overall. Additional financial burdens on private households due to a rapidly rising CO2 price should also be compensated in order to reduce social inequalities.

The development of CO2 prices is often depicted as linear in various scenarios – but in fact the historical trend shows that prices are subject to fluctuations and are anything but linear. The assumption behind the linear price trend is that certificate volumes decrease continuously over time.
However, this this fails to take into account other influences on the price, such as the fact that certificates can also be “stored” and used at a later date, i.e. quantities can be used at a later date. Among other things, this can lead to considerable price fluctuations.
Due to these price fluctuations, the effects on the expansion of renewable energies and the continued use of gas-fired power plants are not constant, but adapt to the actual CO2 price: In the event of a temporary slump in the CO2 price, for example, the expansion of renewable energies may be delayed due to there being less pressure to act.
Among other things, analysis shows that a low CO2 price causes investments in wind and photovoltaics to be postponed, while at the same time the flow of money into gas-fired power plants and thus also the volume of emissions from the electricity sector increases.
The researchers argue for the necessity and advantages of early high CO2 prices on the emissions market by 2030 in order to steer the transformation of the electricity sector towards a climate-neutral energy supply in a targeted manner.

My entry: "Digital ID and the Australian Constitution." - Aressida. 28.3.24
Right before the Digital ID Bill was passed by the Australian Senate, Senator Roberts made a last-minute addition:
“Life is about to change for every Australians. As much as Senator Gallagher seeks to downplay the significance of introducing one central digital identifier for each and every Australian, the reality is that this is the most significant legislation I've seen in my time in the Senate. It's the glue that holds together the digital control agenda by which every Australian will be controlled, corralled, exploited and then gagged when they speak or act in opposition.”
“Socialists love control. Socialism needs control. For socialism to exist, there must be control. The government knows control will be used by government to identify people who say mean things on social media to speed up enforcement of our new laws against saying home truths to crazy or dishonest people.”
And from Pauline Hanson, “This law is designed to control the Australian people. It's a step towards the 15-minute cities already being imposed in the United Kingdom, heavily penalising anyone trying to travel outside their community. This is a secretive international effort to establish a one-world government with no freedom and no capacity for dissent.
Let's never forget how easily Australian governments imposed restrictions on us during the pandemic. We couldn't go anywhere without a digital vaccination certificate. Our freedom of speech was suppressed by government and by tech, and it continues in social media content. I will call it out the way I see it, as I always have done. Digital ID is the first step towards these restrictions being imposed on us permanently.”
She gets cut off at the end before she can finish Klaus’ infamous saying…..”You will own nothing and you will be happy!”
————————————————————————————————
We need to firmly oppose this perilous course of action. The imminent implementation of a Digital ID system will enable complete authoritarian control over the state, leading to the establishment of a techno-communist society.
We are rapidly moving towards a future where vaccination passports, CBDCs, and social credit/Co2 scores are all combined into one digital format.
We must not tolerate this encroachment on our individual rights and privacy. It is crucial that we stand against these actions and safeguard the principles that form the foundation of a free and democratic society.
I think the proper order is:
1) The Australian Constitution should include a beginning highlighting the need to protect personal information, protecting individual privacy, and finding a balance between technology progress and individual rights and freedoms.
2) A strong bill of rights that clearly defends the freedoms of expression, privacy, and unjust surveillance in the physical and digital spheres should come after it.
3) In order to safeguard citizens against the misuse of digital ID, the constitution ought to have provisions that clearly define the government's obligation to safeguard citizens' private information, stop illegal access, and guarantee fair and transparent use of digital ID programs.
4) To protect individual privacy, clear regulations pertaining to the gathering, storing, and use of personal data related to digital ID systems should be put in place. These regulations should specify what constitutes informed permission, how data should be minimized, and how long data must be kept.
5) To monitor and control digital ID systems and ensure accountability, openness, and respect for privacy rights, independent oversight bodies need to be set up. These organizations must be able to look into complaints, punish violators, and release periodic reports on privacy conditions.
6) To protect against the marginalization or disadvantage of specific groups, provisions should be included that forbid discrimination based on digital ID.
7) The judiciary should be empowered to invalidate unlawful legislation or activities that violate people's privacy, and a strong system of judicial review should be put in place to allow people to contest abuses of their digital ID systems or rights to privacy.
Let's raise awareness, defend our rights, and ensure government accountability.

Let's make one thing clear, they were all aware of the danger, they all had the choice to Google the guy running that shit show and see the reason for his lawsuit. The minute they saw how jerryrigged that thing was and that Logitech game controller they should've been "I'm out", but they weren't, they signed their death certificates before all jumping in. They wasted all that money on a stupid stunt that was obviously gonna bite them in the ass. I don't care about them, because you don't become a billionaire while caring for others. I'm gonna laugh until all this is over.
Also submarines rarely get rescued and never at the depth they're in, so there won't be any rescue, that thing did not have a Co2 cleanser so they're all probably already gone regardless of how much oxygen is in there. So...yeah.

If you ever had pastries at breakfast, drank soy milk, used soaps at home, or built yourself a nice flat-pack piece of furniture, you may have contributed to deforestation and climate change.
Every item has a price—but the cost isn’t felt only in our pockets. Hidden in that price is a complex chain of production, encompassing economic, social, and environmental relations that sustain livelihoods and, unfortunately, contribute to habitat destruction, deforestation, and the warming of our planet.
Approximately 4 billion hectares of forest around the world act as a carbon sink which, over the past two decades, has annually absorbed a net 7.6 billion metric tons of CO2. That’s the equivalent of 1.5 times the annual emissions of the US.
Conversely, a cleared forest becomes a carbon source. Many factors lead to forest clearing, but the root cause is economic. Farmers cut down the forest to expand their farms, support cattle grazing, harvest timber, mine minerals, and build infrastructure such as roads. Until that economic pressure goes away, the clearing may continue.
In 2024, however, we are going to see a big boost to global efforts to fight deforestation. New EU legislation will make it illegal to sell or export a range of commodities if they have been produced on deforested land. Sellers will need to identify exactly where their product originates, down to the geolocation of the plot. Penalties are harsh, including bans and fines of up to 4 percent of the offender's annual EU-wide turnover. As such, industry pushback has been strong, claiming that the costs are too high or the requirements are too onerous. Like many global frameworks, this initiative is being led by the EU, with other countries sure to follow, as the so-called Brussels Effect pressures ever more jurisdictions to adopt its methods.
The impact of these measures will only be as strong as the enforcement and, in 2024, we will see new ways of doing that digitally. At Farmerline (which I cofounded), for instance, we have been working on supply chain traceability for over a decade. We incentivize rule-following by making it beneficial.
When we digitize farmers and allow them and other stakeholders to track their products from soil to shelf, they also gain access to a suite of other products: the latest, most sustainable farming practices in their own language, access to flexible financing to fund climate-smart products such as drought-resistant seeds, solar irrigation systems and organic fertilizers, and the ability to earn more through international commodity markets.
Digitization helps build resilience and lasting wealth for the smallholders and helps save the environment. Another example is the World Economic Forum’s OneMap—an open-source privacy-preserving digital tool which helps governments use geospatial and farmer data to improve planning and decision making in agriculture and land. In India, the Data Empowerment Protection Architecture also provides a secure consent-based data-sharing framework to accelerate global financial inclusion.
In 2024 we will also see more food companies and food certification bodies leverage digital payment tools, like mobile money, to ensure farmers’ pay is not only direct and transparent, but also better if they comply with deforestation regulations.
The fight against deforestation will also be made easier by developments in hardware technology. New, lightweight drones from startups such as AirSeed can plant seeds, while further up, mini-satellites, such as those from Planet Labs, are taking millions of images per week, allowing governments and NGOs to track areas being deforested in near-real time. In Rwanda, researchers are using AI and the aerial footage captured by Planet Labs to calculate, monitor, and estimate the carbon stock of the entire country.
With these advances in software and hard-tech, in 2024, the global fight against deforestation will finally start to grow new shoots.

Wearing synthetic clothing sustainably
I have seen a lot of discussion on the Internet about the environmental impact of natural fibers and synthetic fibers used to make clothing.  Synthetic fabrics are made from oil, just like plastic is. According to the attached article, “Petrochemical-based synthetics make up 65% of all fibers produced annually, with polyester by far the most widely used synthetic fabric. Despite the serious environmental impacts of cotton production, a T-shirt made from cotton produces 2.1 kg CO2-eqemissions while a polyester T-shirt emits an estimated 5.5 kg CO2-eq.”  Synthetic fabrics also contribute to plastic pollution. Washing clothes breaks off microfibers that contribute to microplastic contamination in waterways. Coatings on fibers or clothing contribute to pollution when they wash off and some are made with chemicals that are harmful to us and the planet.
However, sometimes you need the qualities produced by synthetic fabrics and the treatments/coatings applied to the fabric, such as waterproofing.  Here are some ideas on how to reduce the environmental impact of clothing made with synthetic fibers.
Buy clothing made from recycled materials when possible. Several manufacturers have begun making clothing using some recycled materials, so look for them.
When evaluating clothing ,whether new or made from recycled materials, look for textile certifications such as Bluesign and Oeko-Tex, which indicate that a product was made with only safer materials and treatments.
You can reduce microfiber pollution by using cooler, faster laundry cycles. Hanging clothes to dry reduces microfiber pollution and also saves energy.
Research microfiber filters that can be installed on your washing machine to capture the microfibers.
Purchase fewer clothing items of higher quality and maintain them carefully.  Read the laundering instructions on the label inside the item of clothing.  Some clothing requires special detergents or laundry cycles to maintain their waterproof or fire-retardant properties. Clothing that is properly maintained will last much longer, hopefully leading to fewer resources being used to make new clothing.

One World Trade Center
Tumblr media
285 Fulton St, New York, NY One World Trade Center also known as One World Trade, One WTC, and formerly Freedom Tower is the main building of the rebuilt World Trade Center complex in Lower Manhattan, New York City.
Location 285 Fulton Street, Manhattan, New York City, U.S. 10007 It is bounded by West Street to the west, Vesey Street to the north, Fulton Street to the south, and Washington Street to the east.
One World Trade Center is a masterfully designed building and a symbol of resilience and resolve.
MARCH 29, 2022 One World Trade Center 95 Percent Leased With Latest Deal: Durst
As of September 2016, One WTC became the tallest building in the western hemisphere to be awarded a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) gold certification. LEED is an internationally recognized green building certification system, which recognizes structures that have been built and designed using strategies that address energy savings, water efficiency, and CO2 emissions reduction.
Constructed using more than 40% post-industrial recycled content and with more than 87% of construction waste diverted from the landfill, One WTC is a sustainable force to be reckoned with.
Where in New York is the World Trade Center? The complex—located at the southwestern tip of Manhattan, near the shore of the Hudson River and a few blocks northwest of Wall Street—was built by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey as a central facility for businesses and government agencies involved in international trade.
Can you see the Statue of Liberty from One World Observatory? The observation deck at One World Observatory (the 'Freedom Tower') offers breathtaking views of New York Harbor, including the Statue of Liberty.
One World Trade Center The One World Trade Center (1WTC) is the most important building of the new World Trade Center, established to substitute the complex wrecked in the September 11 attacks.
Construction The construction of the building began on 27 April 2006, nearly 5 years after the Twin Towers were destroyed. Nevertheless, the first cornerstone was laid on 4 July 2004 - two years earlier, in a symbolic ceremony. During the first years, the skyscraper was known as Freedom Tower. The skyscraper was inaugurated on the 3 November 2014.
The architect David Childs and Skidmore Owings & Merrill company were commissioned the design of this new skyscraper. The designer had previously created the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, the Willis Tower in Chicago and Jin Mao Tower in China.
Standing 1,776 ft (541 m)-tall, it is currently the sixth highest building in the world. The tallest is in Asia. The rooftop stands 417 meters high, the same measurements as the first tower in the original World Trade Center.
One World Observatory Inaugurated the 29 May 2015, 13 months after the skyscraper was opened to the public, the One World Trade Center observation deck, known as the One World Observatory, has become one of the most popular tourist attractions in New York. It offers unimaginable panoramic views of New York.
The One World Observatory occupies the last three floors of the skyscraper (floors 100 – 102) and reaches a height of 386.5 meters. It is the tallest observatory in New York. The 360° views give visitors a vision of up to 80 km in all directions.
Sadly, unlike the observations decks of the Empire State and Rockefeller Center, the One World Observatory does not have an outdoor terrace, it is all interior with large glass windows. This makes it is harder to get a good photograph and visitors won’t feel the pulse of the city like on the other viewpoints.
Worthwhile, But… If you enjoy modern architecture and want to observe New York City from its new iconic skyscraper, we recommend the One World Observatory. The whole experience, from as soon as you walk inside the building, take the elevator covered by led panels that recreate the growth of the city from it once founded.
This said, the city’s best viewpoints are without a doubt: The Empire State Building Observatory followed by the Top of the Rock, since both offer different sensations. The One World Observatory would be our third favorite.
Skip the Line Tickets The number of tickets is limited by scheduled turns, which means, that visitors must buy their tickets in advance. If not, the waiting line can be several hours long.
To avoid wasting time in tiresome lines, we recommend visitors pre-book tickets. These can be printed out or on downloaded on the smartphone.
Location 285 Fulton Street.
Schedule Open every day of the year: 9am -10pm. On certain dates the landmark closes at 8pm.
Price Adults: US$ 40.28 (€ 37.80) Over 65s: US$ 38.11 (€ 35.70) Children 6-12: US$ 33.75 (€ 31.60) Children under 6: Free.

Europe buys ‘green fuel’ from Brazil but ignores deforestation connection
An investigation conducted by ‘Repórter Brasil’ shows how biodiesel made from beef tallow exported to the EU by companies such as JBS is connected to Amazon destruction and global warming
Tumblr media
The European Union (EU) is importing Brazilian biodiesel to reduce greenhouse gas emissions generated by its transportation industry. However, purchases of fuel made from beef tallow have been causing the opposite effect and contributing to global warming. This is revealed by Repórter Brasil’s latest investigation published in the report ‘The green fuel that deforests,’ with versions in English and Portuguese.
By importing this type of biofuel – more than 10 million litres in the last two years – the EU ends up encouraging precisely the industry that contributes the most to emissions in Brazil: cattle.
In April 2020, JBS shipped 3.6 million litres of biodiesel to Europe – all produced with tallow from the same cattle it slaughters for beef. Public agencies and journalistic investigations often show that the company buys animals raised on deforested farms.
In Brazil, deforestation is the main source of carbon emissions into the atmosphere. And cattle is at the heart of the problem: 90% of the trees felled are replaced by pastures.
In October 2021, almost 5 million litres of biodiesel were shipped to Belgium by BSBios, a company based in Rio Grande do Sul state and acquired by the local branch of agribusiness giant Cargill. It was the largest volume of biodiesel exported by Brazil in a single operation since 2015. Shortly before that, between August and September 2021, more than 2 million litres were also sent by BSBios to Clover Energy, a Switzerland-based commodities trading company.
According to an investigation conducted by Repórter Brasil, both shipments may have included beef tallow as one of their components.
The European Union adopts measures to prevent biofuel production from replacing native vegetation. “As it may cause the release of CO2 stored in trees and soil, ILUC poses a risk to the greenhouse gas savings that result from increased production of biofuels,” the EU justifies on its website on the topic.
However, the International Sustainability & Carbon Certification (ISCC) – responsible for making sure that this does not happen – certified JBS and BSBios to export to Europe, despite the existing connection between livestock and deforestation. The regulation says that raw materials for green fuel cannot encourage biodiversity destruction, but it does not apply to companies using beef tallow in their production because this material is considered slaughter waste rather than a primary ingredient.

No Small Issue with Big Data
No one thinks about the issue with data until the issue comes to you. Being personally affected by identity theft, having your personal accounts hacked, or your bank account being emptied would have anyone ask "why and how could this happen". It could be an issue with Big Data. Big data is data that contains greater variety, arriving in increasing volumes and with more velocity. Companies, federal agencies, any corporation has big data.
We have to think about the issues we have with sharing information with companies and the places we work. This may seem impossible as some jobs, for example federal jobs, need certain information such as your social security number, birth certificate, and bank information. There needs to be more security for big data especially when your personal information is within a companies records.
This past year there have been over 143-million credit cards breached, almost half of that number was due to breaches within companies data. With overall data breaches, there have been over 4.1 BILLION breaches within the first six months. So what is the solution? Having proper risk assessment, preparing for an issue before it happens, and confirming agreements with customers/employees/etc.
Big data is not just a personal issue, it affects companies and their assets. For example, an engineering company is making a new engine that creates less CO2 emissions. They record their research but their data is stolen and unrecoverable. Years of research out the window with no sign of who took it or where it went. To avoid things like this corporations would have to confirm employment agreements, restrict access to only certain individuals, and confirm ownership over the project in the event someone tries to copy their research.
As for personal information, we have legal obligations by the court to protect our information. It is however our duty to read any document we sign or agree to. Those Apple updates you get on your phone or Mac? Scan through them. Signing onto a new bank? Ensure they have security for where their data is housed. Yes it is tedious and time consuming to read those documents. You will be thankful you had rather than the opposite which could be life altering.

The Green Building Council and the LEED rating system
We are an LEED Consultant in Agile Advisors, A project can aim for even better quality by utilizing already acquired points, even if it has already received LEED certification. Put another way, building upon the LEED requirements can improve the sustainability of buildings that have previously received accreditation or certification. When applying for LEED certification, candidates need to consider several prerequisites necessary to meet their objectives for green buildings. The private home certification framework necessitates an even more thorough approach, covering extra areas essential to certification. The LEED certification process looks at every aspect of buildings from a sustainable perspective. Sustainable advancements frequently benefit both the environment and human health, making them win-win.
Tumblr media
Agile Advisors provide LEED Consultancy, this holds for both newly constructed buildings and remodeling endeavors. When these conditions are satisfied, the project can use the point system to gain more LEED credits. The critical criteria cover various topics, including materials, transportation, waste management, CO2 emissions, energy efficiency, indoor environmental quality, and water utilization. Earning LEED certification proves a project's dedication to the highest quality of sustainability and gives investors, tenants, and other occupants confidence that it complies with strict guidelines. The certification further highlights the project's minor environmental impact, strengthens the project's climate credentials, and emphasizes association with the green building sector through an established green business certification.
By earning up to 110 points, buildings can become LEED-certified and act as models for sustainable development in the future. After a Green Building Council Inspector confirms a project's certification grade, a LEED-authorized professional issues a certificate indicating the project's achievement level; attaining a certification level denotes a notable level of fulfilment of conditions, including but not limited to emissions reduction, environmental sustainability promotion, energy efficiency enhancement, indoor air and environmental quality optimization, energy performance improvement, and materials sustainability prioritization. The good news is that practically all buildings—offices, public spaces, or residential homes—can be LEED-certified by green building guidelines.
We believe as LEED Consultancy in Dubai, there is an inherent connection between energy and environmental design, particularly when tackling climate change. Building electrification is essential to prepare buildings for a future powered by renewable energy. It's crucial to remember that not every modification calls for significant remodeling. Using technology and making careful design choices can significantly improve the energy efficiency of existing buildings. Upgrades like double-pane windows, better insulation, and LED lighting help reduce heat loss and maintain ideal temperature management. Furthermore, building owners can operate their facilities more profitably and simultaneously pursue various certifications and sustainability objectives by implementing smart thermostats.
In our opinion as LEED Consultancy in UAE, Structures that use natural materials free from harmful health effects can improve human health. Additional components of a healthy indoor environment include sunlight, plants that lift the spirits, and enough air circulation. Awareness of the possible health dangers related to specific elements frequently present in cleaning products, paints, and synthetic carpets is essential. The high concentrations of hazardous chemicals in these products could make it more difficult to obtain green building certification. Both newly created sustainable sites and existing buildings can provide environmental and human health benefits by purposefully avoiding such materials and other causes of indoor air pollution and prioritizingnable material choices during interior fit-outs.

Sanden Heat Pump Hot Water
Replace your leaking, energy-guzzling water heater with the advanced Sanden Eco Plus heat pump hot water system. It’s environmentally friendly and can save you up to 80% on your energy bills.
It absorbs heat from the air to heat water saving energy, money and greenhouse gas emissions. It’s quiet and able to use off-peak power and is eligible for rebates and incentives.
Save up to 80% on your energy bills
A hot sanden heat pump hot water heat pump uses the natural energy in the air to save money and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Using industry-leading technology similar to that used in refrigeration and air conditioning units, it absorbs energy from the atmosphere and transfers it into your hot water storage tank. The system is also eligible for the highest level of Small scale Technology Certificates (STC) compared to other hot water heat pumps in Australia.
The Smarter Eco Plus heat pump combines a high quality 300L Australian made extra long life Stainless Steel storage tank with an efficient Sanden heat pump unit. Its split system design allows easy installation by a Plumber & Electrician and does not require the use of backup elements.
Its energy efficiency is further enhanced by utilising off peak electricity tariffs to maximise your savings. It uses only 0.84kW of energy to generate 5kW of heating, saving you 80% on your electricity costs compared to conventional electric systems.
Whisper quiet operation
The Eco Plus system absorbs energy from the air and uses it to heat your water with a COP (coefficient of performance) of up to 4. This significantly reduces electricity consumption, saving you money year after year. It can be combined with an on-roof solar power system to maximise energy utilisation.
The system uses standard-grade technology similar to refrigeration and air conditioning systems, extracting energy from the ambient air and passing it on to your hot water tank. It also uses ozone friendly R744 refrigerant with low global warming potential.
These advanced systems are also extremely quiet. They have an industry leading noise level of 38 dB, which is almost silent! This makes them ideal for installations on boundaries and close to bedrooms. The Australian made Stainless Steel tanks are insulated to minimise heat loss, with a safety pressure and temperature relief valve supplied. They also come with one of the best warranties in Australia – 6 years full parts and labour on the Heat Pump unit and 15 years Pro Rata warranty on the tank.
Environmentally friendly
Sanden Eco Plus hot water heat pumps use industry-leading technology found in refrigeration and air conditioning to draw energy from the atmosphere. This energy is then transferred into heating your hot water without the need for backup elements. The system works like a refrigerator in reverse and uses the natural, ozone friendly refrigerant CO2 (R744) to absorb the heat from the surrounding environment.
The heat is then pumped into the storage tank using a very small amount of electricity. The result is a system that needs radically less power than conventional electric storage hot water systems.
Sanden also offers a wide range of energy efficient water heaters with different tank sizes to suit any home. The company’s premium systems are backed by some of the most reliable warranties in the industry. Here is a review from user "predrag" that pretty much sums it up:
Easy to maintain
Sanden has designed their sanden heat pump system to be simple and easy to maintain. It comes with one touch boost and multiple timer settings to control usage, as well as a wifi controller for remote access. It also enables you to maximise energy utilisation and reduce running costs even further.
These units are a highly efficient alternative to traditional hot water systems and will reduce your power consumption by up to 80%. They use standard-grade technology from refrigerators and air conditioning to extract heat from the atmosphere using an ozone friendly refrigerant. The energy is then used to warm the water in your tank.
They are also extremely durable and have been tested to operate in the Australian climate, with a large range of operating temperatures from negative 10 degrees to 43 degrees Celsius. Their stainless steel tanks are backed up with an extensive 10year warranty excluding labour.
