I’ve been here on tumblr for a while (way longer than I’ve had this profile, probably started posting on this hell site circa 2013), and I always saw people from other fandoms saying stuff like “the original trilogy is better” or “I preferred it when that specific person was showrunner” and I never understood. Because if you love something, if a movie, book, band or tv series makes you feel ✨things✨, in this grim messy world we live in, why on Earth would you complain about receiving more of the very thing you claim to love?

But now I get it. And unfortunately, that’s exactly what I feel whenever I see things about the reboot. Will I watch it? Of course I will, I’ll watch it, and post about it, and analyse the hell out of it like I always do with the shows I like, because I love these characters so much that every minute I get to see them on my screen is pure gold. But, wow, nothing will top how I feel watching the original show. And it's okay. I’ve changed, the characters have changed, the producers have changed and I guess all that’s left to do is accept nothing will ever be the same. And maybe, as confusing as that might sound, that’s a good thing. So, what I guess I’m trying to say is: here’s to new beginnings. May this new season/show be kind to us fans.

For this Criminal Minds reboot, we know Reid won’t be there, but I hope we atleast get a good update on where he is and what he’s doing. The primary theory is that he’s teaching full time but in the s15 finale he said he loved teaching but DIDN’T want to do that full time. If that’s the case, I feel like there needs to be an explaination as to what changed his mind, i.e. having a family now (with Max?) or maybe Alex reached out to him with some cool opportunity, idk. Knowing the CM writers, I wouldn’t put it past them to stick with their usual formula and make it some tragic thing that’s pulled him from the team. 

Also I hope Luke and Garcia stayed together

I get that MGG probably doesn’t want to be in the cm reboot but I can't imagine that I'll enjoy it without him 🥲

Tbh I’m glad Thomas won’t be in it. I loved him as Hotch but I they put him through way too much and I hated that they didn’t even give his character a proper goodbye after being apart of it for 11 seasons

i feel bad for him ☹️ bc he always posts throwbacks and you can just tell he really loved being on the show. in my opinion, that's the part of his career he's most proud of. that may not actually be true, but that's how it feels to me

and i agree about not giving hotch a proper goodbye. i get stuff happened behind the scenes, but when a character means that much to your audience, it's really shitty… which is why i think the show didn't do as well during seasons 12-15 but i digress.

bottom line is, i won't be watching it. not bc i'm petty about him, shemar, and mgg not being there, but bc i don't think i'll enjoy it. luke and matt just aren't my favs so it doesn't have the same vibes as it used to back when i first fell in love with the show :/

i kinda wish that the criminal minds reboot didn't introduce who the killer was until later on in the season, like faceless killer scenes would've been okay but the mystery would be a lot better if we as an audience don't know this guy. i know he's going to get caught, there isn't any suspense when i know who he is. it should be a mystery for us as long as the BAU doesn't know what he looks like
