So I made a cabin for Clio, the muse of history!
I have an OC named Esther, the daughter of Clio, the muse of history, so I built her a cabin! I modeled it after a museum and the Library of Alexandria. (Yes, we don't know what it looks like, but I googled and found some ruins I like.) Pictures and explanations below!
Tumblr media
Front! The boats on the roofs are meant to be frieze depictions of the Trojan war but y'know...gotta use what you can.
Tumblr media
Close ups of porch! I modeled it after this picture I found when googling the LOA.
Tumblr media
Side. Obviously the Greeks didn't have panes but I liked the idea of large, curved windows.
Tumblr media
Entry way! Door based off Ancient Greek doors with windows on top, though dark wood would not have typically been used. I wanted the wallpaper to remind people of libraries, and the lights give it an old-timey feel.
Tumblr media
Library area! My favorite part:). Esther acts as the Camp record-keeper, so I wanted her to have an official library to work at. (Plus, she's a huge nerd.) I wanted it to be a circle but that didn't really work, but I like how the octagonal platform turned out! There's shelves on each wall, and then the two closest to the entry have desks. There's a fire pit in the center to serve as the hearth! (Made by making another platform in center and lowering it, 0/10 do not recommend.) The steps are the closest wood I could get to the floors.
Tumblr media
Bathroom, stairs, and closet. I went with a vintage aesthetic for the bathrooms.
Tumblr media
Top-down view of downstairs.
Tumblr media
Close-up of downstairs porch. I went with brick to evoke museums and libraries, and the Greco-Roman columns and walls closing windows are era-accurate designs.
Tumblr media
My favorite wall:). I put "vintage" and "antique" pictures on the walls. I imagine the portraits are of famous demigods throughout history.
Tumblr media
Top-down of upstairs. I went with an open floor plan for if/when more Clio kids show up, and a "historically modern" aesthetic.
Tumblr media
Desk area.
Tumblr media
Bathroom.
Tumblr media
Bedroom area.
Tumblr media
Kitchenette.

Have another snippet from my Hyacinthus story where he watches Apollo's trials because he was brought back to life without Apollo knowing. Also I don't know how common this knowledge is but in some versions of Hyacinthus and Apollo, Hyacinthus' mother is Clio the muse of History, and I think it's the version Rick Riordan used for pjo
"So this is Commodus," Hyacinthus said with a stirring pit in his gut he was trying to ignore. He knew how Apollo was and knew this relationship happened long after his death. But, still.
"Don't worry, my sweet boy," his mother told him, knowing him completely and kissed the side of his head, "you're still my favourite of Apollo's lovers." She then grinned, "even more than me."
"Mother!"
His mother just laughed brightly in return.

Magic School Bus + Riordanverse AU
I don’t know if I’m the first to think of this, but here’s my idea for a crossover.
During the school year, the class goes on field trips. During the summer, they go on quests and hang out at Camp Half-Blood.
Each kid’s godly parent:
Phoebe: daughter of Demeter. (I chose this because Phoebe loves plants and nature.)
Dorothy Ann: daughter of Urania, the muse of astronomy. I know what some of you might be thinking: “why not put D.A. in the Athena cabin? She walked so Annabeth could run!” Yes, I do see the similarity, but…
Carlos and Mikey are the Athena kids in my AU. As far as personality goes, Carlos is very clever and creative, and likes to take charge of the situation— all of which are Athena traits to me. But what REALLY sealed it for me was the fact that Carlos is scared of spiders.
As for Mikey, he’s good at engineering and he’s super smart (just like his brother.) Since he and Carlos aren’t twins, I imagine that their situation is like the Stoll brothers from the Hermes cabin.
Speaking of which… I think Wanda would be a good fit for the Hermes cabin, given her sense of adventure and her daredevilish personality. I even think the snakes would be a good fit for her.
Tim: Son of Hephaestus. Why? He loves making things.
Keesha: daughter of Athena. Which makes Carlos, Mikey, and Annabeth her half-siblings. I originally wanted to put everyone in a different cabin, but I had trouble thinking of one for Keesha and I decided: “well, she is a very logical person so I will put her in the most logical cabin.”
Ralphie: son of Apollo. His mom is a doctor, so it kind of makes sense.
Arnold: Son of Clio, the muse of history.
I have no idea if Ms. Frizzle herself is a demigod, a minor goddess, or something else entirely. Nobody knows.
Notes:
They are friends with the PJO/HoO crew.
Mikey might not be in the Hephaestus cabin, but he might as well be an honorary member of the crew. Leo even made him a special, tricked-out wheelchair.
Capture the flag is … interesting. If Carlos and D.A. are on the same team, then they work together really well. If they’re on opposite teams, you will not see two campers more competitive than them.
The MSB crew is about the same age as Piper, Jason, and Leo in the HoO series.
Tim and Carlos have been campers for the longest out of everyone in the class. Meanwhile, Phoebe is the newest camper.
Phoebe sometimes mentions “her old school” when something strange happens at camp.
Arnold often wishes he’d stayed in his cabin.
For several years, D.A., Arnold, and Wanda were all in the Hermes cabin, since there weren’t cabins for minor gods until after Percy Jackson demanded it be so.
D.A. was the last one of the crew to be claimed by her godly parent.
Before learning about the “the big 3 can’t have kids” rule, Ralphie hoped he was a son of Zeus.

He protected her from that day on.
Eventually, Justin started noticing he was different, for more reasons than just his Dyslexia. When he was getting picked on, and the bullies started feeling ill whenever they upset him. It always seemed to link to what Justin was thinking about. He struggled to come to terms with this magic, but eventually learnt to control it. he only ever made one fatal mistake.
He went to Camp Half-Blood age 11, taken there by his mother, when monster attacks started happening every day for a few weeks. He was left at camp with Lucille, and clamed that very same night. This is where he met Clara Bones, with whom he became fast friends, and eventually lovers.
Aged 15, Justin and Lucille bumped into Hephaestus, Lucille’s father, who sent them on a mission to collect some of the Nemean Lion’s mane for experimentation. During the fight, the Lion clamped his jaws around Justin’s left leg and thrashed him around. Justin woke up a day later in Hephaestus’ forge, being cared for by Apollo. Apollo had not been able to save his leg, but healed the wound over, just inter his knee joint. Hephaestus and Lucille build Justin a celestial bronze prosthetic, that he uses with complete pride.

Lucille was born when her older brother, Justin, was 3 years old. She appeared to struggle a lot growing up with colour and identification. She was diagnosed with Protanopia type red-green colour blindness when she was 5. She was also diagnosed with ADHD at 6 years old.
Lucille loved creating from the moment she could hold thongs. She helped her mother repair instruments on her workshop form a young age, and was trusted to do it on her own when she was 10.
She went to camp aged 8, had a terrible first night as she had to sleep on the floor of the Hermes cabin away from her brother, as he had been claimed, but she had not. Luckily, she was comforted by Clara, and was claimed by Hephaestus the next day at breakfast. She thrived in the forge, and loved building things with her siblings, but still struggled because of her colour-blindness. Luckily, the Hephaestus kids were kind and sorted tools and materials with labels saying what they were.
When Lucille went on a quest for her father with Justin when she was 12, going after the Nemean Lion, she managed to grab enough some mane hair for Hephaestus. As a reward, the god of the forge made her welding goggles that corrected her vision, allowing her to see the whole spectrum of colours. She cried when she saw them for the first time. Now she wears her goggles around her neck everywhere she goes, just in case she needs them.

Attire:
Camp Half-Blood shirt
Tumblr media

Bio:
Clara was born in Athens to single mother Clio Ostá, a Literature and History researcher for the University of Athens. As Clara grew up, her mother slowly became more and more paranoid after her exploits as a Guardian of Athens and the exposure to Clara’s power set, filling their home with protection symbols from Greek and Rome tradition, mostly Greek. Her paranoia forced her to move away from Greece, as she rightfully feared the ancient stories and monsters were coming for her and her child. Clio uprooted her small family when Clara was 7yrs old, and moved them to a small town in the middle of Maine, getting a job in the Classics department in the University of Maine. However, her paranoia continued to grow, and life at home was no longer an option for Clara.
When she was 10, Clara ran away after being sent a note from an unknown sender about a safe place for people like her. The note led her to Cam Half-Blood, where she stayed year round until she was claimed at 15. Through these five years, she calls home every so often to tell her mother she is safe.

Note
can you give us the v3 cast as pjo demigods? idc if u decide to make them roman or greek gods uwu
I made a list of all the characters forever ago, I need to write stuff for this AU. I only wrote like one ficlet with it for Tokomaru Week last year (which is here if you want to read it)
Kirumi is the sole daughter of Zeus and the counselor of the Zeus cabin. She has powers similar to Thalia in that she can control lightning to a degree and occasionally summon storms. Everybody knows not to cross her.
Rantaro and Gonta are both sons of Demeter, with Rantaro being the counselor. I chose Demeter over Hermes for Rantaro because I figured that since he likes to travel into nature, he might’ve inherited a love of nature from his mom. They both have control over plants to some degree, and Gonta can communicate with bugs as well.
Tenko is a legacy of Ares, which may or may not have played a factor in her dislike of men. She is very good at hand-to-hand combat, as well as weaponized combat, and she has limited odikinesis, which allows her to somewhat manipulate the feelings of war. These powers aren’t as strong as if she were the daughter of Ares.
Shuichi is a legacy of Athena. All of his observant abilities as well as his deduction skills are enhanced from this, and he is also knowledgeable in many different areas as well. He always has a semblance of a plan to use in dire situations.
Kaede is a daughter of Apollo, which is somewhat predictable given her musical prowess. Music is her primary focus, and she’s incredibly skilled at piano, but is also a skilled archer and knows enough first aid to help whenever the situation calls for it.
Miu is a daughter of Hephaestus, though she was certain that she was a daughter of Aphrodite because of her looks. She has technokinesis, and can always sense machines and identify them by touch as well as manipulate them, and she is one of the most skilled inventors in her cabin. Kiibo was actually an invention that three of the Hephaestus campers worked on together, and their father gave him life that passes as an AI, so technically he’s a son of Hephaestus as well.
Kokichi is a son of Hermes, and of course inherited his trickster nature. He is very skilled at pulling outrageous pranks, and has enhanced thief abilities as well as lock manipulation, which allows him to unlock any lock, sometimes telekinetically, but not cursed locks. Nobody is spared from his pranks.
Maki is the sole daughter of Hades, making her the counselor. Like Kirumi, she is extremely powerful, and incredibly skilled in combat with or without weapons. At times, it seems like she is almost invincible on the battlefield. She has necromancy powers, which allow her to sense, manipulate, and otherwise communicate with the dead, as well as umbrakinesis (which includes shadow travel) and phobikinesis (which gives off an aura of fear and death) among others.
Angie is the counselor of the Iris cabin. She can travel at high speeds, and can handle the pegasi well, but also has the ability to manipulate color to a varying degree. This aids her well in her artwork. It is unknown at this time what more she can do with her powers, but she gives off a very threatening aura whenever someone gets on her bad side.
Ryoma is a son of Nike, which must’ve aided in his tennis proficiency. He is very competitive because of his mother, but has since learned to reign in those feelings to become cool and composed. He is often victorious on the battlefield, and along with the rest of his cabin is coveted for capture the flag.
Himiko is the only daughter of Hecate, making her the counselor. She can control and manipulate magic, occasionally able to make objects levitate. She also has partial control over the Mist, which includes the creation of illusions, teleporting through it, and hiding important objects and locations.
Tsumugi is a legacy of Morpheus, and to some degree can shift her form to appear like someone else. This only works with the cooperation of the Mist, which she has very little control over.
Kaito and Korekiyo are both sons of Muses, Urania and Clio, respectively. Kaito, of course, is proficient in all things space, and is therefore skilled at travel thanks to being able to track stars. Korekiyo can identify when and where any particular item or tradition comes from thanks to his vast knowledge of history from his mother.

A PJO/HoO - Danganronpa fusion
Because there’s very little I enjoy more than crossovers when it comes to fanfiction, here’s one of the many headcanons I spend way too much time thinking about when bored at the gym.
And hey, no one will ever see this so I don’t feel too self-conscious sharing it!
Komaeda is a child of Tyche, the most powerful one in recorded history—but his incredible abilities come with a price, in the form of his unpredictable (and devastating) endless cycle of miraculously good and catastrophically bad luck. He was born a danger to himself and all those around him, and so unsurprisingly was never welcome at Camp Half-Blood. After his parents died and he was turned away from Camp, he simply grew up wandering about alone all over the country, living off the considerable inheritance from his late parents and his own strokes of financial luck. This wasn’t particularly dangerous for him, as, unlike most demigod children, he didn’t even need to lift a finger to survive monster encounters, more often than not: his luck would take care of the beasts for him. However, while his luck always protected his body, his heart was left undefended: he soon came to see his inborn power as more of a curse than a blessing, as it always resulted in damage to himself during monster attacks being redirected towards innocent mortals. Komaeda leaves his resentment towards his godly mother carefully unspoken, but he has no love for Olympus; to him, the true God, the true absolute good, is the abstract concept of hope, as it’s hope that his life will one day get better that gets him through the day far more than the luck that protects him from monsters. (Thus, by extension, he’s Hestia’s most devoted follower, as she was entrusted with Pandora’s pithos near the end of the second Titanomachy. Hestia is very grateful to be worshipped again after so long, especially by such a kind, albeit…unusual demigod. But she worries deeply for this incredibly messed up child who adores her so unconditionally, almost seeing him as a son.) Due to his sickly body and the fact that he was banned from Camp and thus couldn’t receive combat training, he was unable to ever learn to defend himself in such a way that his luck wouldn’t need to protect him by causing harm to others in his place. This destroyed his self-esteem at an early age, and resulted in Komaeda forcing himself to develop a mentality of complete disdain towards mortals, so that their deaths in monster attacks aimed at him would no longer tear at his conscience. He greatly admires all demigods who possess powers he sees as more useful and remarkable than his, and will go out of his way to help them in their quests if he happens to come across them in his travels. As a child of Tyche, he’s able to control his luck to an extent, at least long enough to ensure that his temporary companions will only experience excellent luck while by his side; he reaps all the damage from his resulting bad luck afterwards, once they’ve left safely. Unsurprisingly, rumours of a “pretty but almost creepily helpful Tyche kid with incredible power, who’ll lend a hand on quests for free” spread around both Camps quickly.
Hinata is a clear-sighted mortal. Born and raised in New York, a city full of demigod and monster traffic due to its proximity to both Mount Olympus and Camp Half-Blood, he grew up watching heroes flit in and out of his life battling monsters, living fantastical, exciting lives so unlike the mundane humdrum of school, homework and more school that was his own—and came to envy them. He runs into Nanami by chance one day, and after befriending her, eventually finds himself dragged along on one of her quests, at the end of which he’s brought back to Camp and made the newest host to the Oracle of Delphi. He then soon comes to understand the true meaning of the adage “be careful what you wish for”, bitterly regretting his inability to be satisfied with not being special. The Oracle, having settled into his mind as a separate entity that calls itself Izuru, is cold and unfeeling and so very, painfully bored of a world that holds no secrets to one with the power of foresight. His apathy constantly bleeds through into Hinata’s heart, leaving him struggling with depression; Hinata is also tormented with traumatically bloody dreams every night, and feelings of guilt whenever he delivers prophecies that foretell a young hero’s death, knowing that his words won’t be enough to change their sealed fates. So it’s unsurprising, of course, that both Hinata and Izuru would be thrilled to meet Komaeda and become fascinated with this singularity who will never be killed by anything but old age or his own hand, who is so chaotically beautiful in his blessed, wild unpredictability.
Souda is a son of Hephaestus, obviously. He insists despite all evidence to the contrary that Sonia is obviously a child of Aphrodite and thus is meant to be with him. Despite acting more like a child of Hecate or Hades, Tanaka has an inborn connection with animals thanks to his father, Pan. He can tame any beast, no matter how wild, though he’s soft-hearted enough that he hates making them fight for him. Nanami is a daughter of Athena, gifted like no other at the war table. Despite her undeniable talent, some of her siblings are annoyed by her spacey personality and her tendency to treat all strategy meetings as preludes to games. She’s also uncommonly sweet and friendly for a child of the somewhat stuck-up cabin. Sonia is a spiritually begotten daughter of Hera (not conceived the usual horizontal tango-induced way because hey, goddess of marriage). She inherited all of her godly parent’s commanding presence and motherly kindness, and none of her overbearing possessiveness and bitterness. Kuzuryuu is a son of Zeus, but dislikes the pressure this puts on his shoulders to always take on leadership roles. He also hates being teased about being “pretty tiny, for a child of the King of the gods”. Unfortunately for those naysayers, he certainly inherited his father’s temper, if not his imposing size. Pekoyama is the quietest, coolest daughter of Ares you will ever meet, but make no mistake, she’s deadlier by far than all of her uncouth and bloodthirsty siblings. She’s also Kuzuryuu’s terrifying self-appointed bodyguard. Koizumi is a daughter of Clio, and loves immortalising little bits of history through her craft as a photographer. She has no inborn special ability for battle, but, being scarily protective of her loved ones, made up for it by training hard and is a master of knife fighting. Saionji is a daughter of Terpsichore, and thus a fantastic dancer. She wields tessen just as sharp as her tongue and adores Koizumi, firm in her belief that daughters of under-appreciated muses should stick together. Tsumiki is a daughter of Apollo with the strongest ability for healing seen in millennia, but can be surprisingly sadistic towards those she sees as enemies. She’s very self-conscious when chanting hymns, as her mousy voice isn’t much to write home about despite her parentage. Her half-sister Mioda, by contrast, has a voice like an angel and can make any instrument sing for her like a lover. Shame she’s a fan of screaming, growling death metal. Ah well, at least it does well in making attacking monsters’ eardrums and brains explode. They just “can’t handle how hard [she shreds]”. Owari is a daughter of Hercules, bronzed and beautiful, ditzy and fight-crazy. Instead of being satisfied with her inborn super-strength, she trained hard to surpass her limits since early childhood, and is all the more terrifying for it. Nidai is a son of Chiron, able to switch at will between human and centaur forms. It’s in his nature to push heroes to be the best they can be, and he’s always vocally thrilled to work alongside his exasperated but loving father in training demigods. His bulging muscles aren’t just for show, but he’s surprisingly pants at archery. Hanamura is a son of Demeter, and can work magic in the kitchen with just a handful of grain and a few veggies. He deeply respects life and is a bit of a wimp when it comes to blood, but is deadly with a meat cleaver. The Impostor is a child of Aphrodite who defies common standards of beauty by being noticeably overweight. They have the strongest talent for shapeshifting ever seen in a demigod, and is a surprisingly excellent leader. Yukizome, the ultimate homemaker, is a spiritually begotten daughter of Hestia (because hey, maiden goddess). Sakakura is a son of Hercules and Munakata, a son of Athena.
All the Dr1 cast are children of Roman gods. Naegi is a son of Fortuna (and thus Komaeda’s sort-of brother/cousin); Enoshima is a daughter of Venus who betrayed both her camp and the world by deciding to revive Kronos, who blessed(/cursed) her with the ability to see through time at an early age.
