one of the clients got me a cake today ;-; ♡ it was so nice of them 😭 since I live by myself, I tried to get everyone to have multiple pieces because I forget about cake as soon as I put it in the fridge but SOMEHOW I still came home with like almost more than half ⚰️
my best friend here brought me boba and a donut & I treated myself to a chicken katsu sando for lunch 🥲🌹
now I am home, clean dishes, bed made, snack for dinner and I am WRITING c r y
I am thinking I should break this up into parts with the "moody thematic bit" at the front as like a prologue? To set the stage and do introductions to the version of Dick & Bruce in this piece, the nature of their relationship, THE YEARNING, etc.
Then when it starts to get to the tone shift Regular Case Conflict Stuff it'll be kind of separate but will start to blend back into the moody thematic stuff, which will have an epilogue to close it back up.

26. how’s your spice tolerance?
28. last meal on earth?
26. okay, so since i’m half Iranian and most of my childhood i grew up eating only iranian food i have a very high spice tolerance ++ cuz most of my friends were east or south asian n i always had really spicy food with them
28. my last meal on earth would 100% be fresh m’semen with almond butter, argan oil and spurge honey + musakhan (which is roasted chicken that is baked with onions, spices and fried pines nuts, then served on taboon bread) and finally a good corner to al pistacchio that falls apart in my mouth
honourable mentions: japchae with a side of kimchi + katsu sando + omurice + JOLLOF RICE 🫶🫶 + congee with chilly oil (idk if this is customary but that’s how i’ve always eaten it) + baozi + empanadas (any really) + argentine meat (i’m literally vegetarian but it has always tempted me) + PHO

Menyelami Dunia Tonkatsu by Venom77
Kelezatan Tradisional Jepang

Katsu Sando, 710 W Las Tunas Dr, Unit 6, San Gabriel, CA 91776
Tumblr media
Katsu Sando was inspired the sandwiches found at Japanese convenience stores. The interior feels a bit like a Japanese convenience store only with fewer items. They have one fridge filled with Japanese and Korean drinks, onigiri, and pre-made cold sandwiches (fruit sando, potato salad sando, egg salad sando). They also have snacks like Pocky, Pretz, Turtle Chips, etc.
You can also order hot katsu sandwiches (chicken, pork, menchi, mushroom, walnut shrimp), rice plates, curry, and snacks like fries, slaw, and pickles. The katsu is made to order.
Potato salad sando ($4.95): crustless soft white bread with potato salad. The Japanese potato salad was mashed potatoes with carrots, corn, and maybe apples? The potatoes were creamy and there was something crunchy (apple?). It was creamy and sweet. The bread was slightly sweet too. It was nice in a comforting way.
Egg salad sando ($6.95): crustless white bread with chopped hard-boiled eggs, Kewpie (?), and mustard. It was sweet and creamy. Simple but good.
I liked the sandwiches. They seem a little better and fresher than the ones you get at a Japanese market.
3.5 out of 5 stars.

Make Katsu Chicken Sandwich Using Boombay’s Miso + Ginger Stir Fry Sauce
Total Time: 35 minutes
Serves: 1
An essential for all sandwich connoisseurs, Japanese Katsu Sando is a beautiful pork chop sandwich that makes for a great lunch or picnic menu. The meat is fried to crispy perfection and sandwiched between bread that's layered with tonkatsu sauce and shredded white cabbage. In this recipe, swap out the tonkatsu with our Miso + Ginger Stir Fry Sauce for a burst of unforgettable umami flavours in the mouth!
Chef’s note:
Make an amazing set of Katsu Sando, using the airy and fluffy Brioche bread or any soft white bread that just melts in your mouth.
Once the sandwich is built, settle it down by placing a weight on top for about 5 minutes. This recommended step helps maintain the shape of the sandwich when it's about to be cut.
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons of Boombay’s Miso + Ginger Stir Fry Sauce
2 slices of your favourite Bread, preferably white
1 Chicken Breast
1 to 2 tablespoons of Breadcrumbs
½ tablespoon of Plain flour
1 Egg
Few leaves of your favourite variety of Lettuce
Products Used: Boombay’s Miso + Ginger Stir Fry Sauce
Tumblr media

Let the chicken rest for a minimum of 20 minutes in the fridge
Heat oil in a skillet and fry the chicken in oil until it is golden on the outside and white through the centre

The last Surprise Bags where tax was included in the listed prices 😢 (#latergramforever). This was $7.99 x 2 for a box of Chicken Sando and Shrimp Yakitori. Love the Surprise Bags from Tanuki - delicious Japanese fusion food 😄 Chicken Sando: crispy chicken menchi katsu, Nakamura milk bread (so crispy after heating it up), aioli slaw, spicy bulldog sauce.
