One time I was working as a waiter at a burger joint where the fries were tossed in salt and coriander and as I was bringing food over to the table for these two huge beefy guys one of them asks what the green stuff is so I go "it's coriander" and his friend goes very seriously "he can't have coriander" and I'm thinking shit ok maybe he's allergic and guy 1 starts pulling up his sleeve to show me something and I'm thinking shit shit shit he's probably breaking out in hives rn and it's my fault but he just shows me his arm and he has this huge cursive font tattoo that just says "I fucking hate coriander"

Time for more Sword and Blade rambles because the brain has indeed rotted. Had a really funny thought about how throughout the whole anime, Sword and Blade were overconfident and quick to throwing themselves into danger- often getting their asses handed to them or disarmed in the process. Very reckless but with their heads held high.

Meanwhile in the finale when shit hits the fan? Suddenly they're panicked- constantly asking "what do we do?" and overall are showing obvious fear without trying to hide it- to the extent of almost arguing with each other by the end; something they never did before.

I honestly really adore this fact because: a. it's reminiscent of their first encounter with Meta Knight, how when Wolfwrath nearly took them out they ran away in fear but came back because they trusted him. Here, despite them being afraid again (and for the first time since then, obviously showing it), they still hold fast and trust his command. and b. it made for wonderful contrast for their writing and added heightened realism given the severity of the show's final events and the situations at hand. I need sleep. :)

My client is Indian and makes it from scratch and hoooooooooly friiiickkkk it’s SO good 🤤 there’s also a local family-owned Indian restaurant that she orders from regularly and they give me a free cup of chai every time I pick up her orders. They know I don’t like it with milk or sugar too and always give it to me straight which is super thoughtful!

It is honestly a tragedy but I haven't been trying a lot of new recipes lately because I've been too tired/lazy/burnt out for cooking and just opted for fast stuff BUT...

THIS SAUCE!!!!!!!! I use it for everything now 😂

This was also really delicious (I veganized it obv but it's really easy to do)!

This isn't a new recipe and I'm not that much a fan of the tofu (BUT IT'S BETTER IF YOU TOSS IT IN CORNSTARCH BEFORE YOU FRY IT) but I'd die for the red cabbage from this recipe! And assembled they're actually pretty good even with the tofu 😂

I made this a couple of days ago with the pumpkin puree I made, and while I love it I personally would double the spices in this recipe because I find it a bit bland otherwise.

AND I made these cupcakes from my fic "It's amazing what baking can do" yesterday and they're really really good!

lots of things about this episode felt very true to growing up. the childlike shyness, the quiet observing. the childlike freedom and the messing around. the breath before the plunge and the butterflies about it and the quiet contemplation of feelings that don't quite have words yet. the theme of self-acceptance and introspection...figuring out who you are and what you want and being okay with it? it was so gentle and good and well done tbh. like it's more than just a hs show abt falling in love, obviously - but this episode was a subtler and kinder version of that same fight for freedom of expression, and very personal to the characters journeys as young people trying to find their place in the world and in themselves, rather than addressing society as a whole. idk if im saying this right but it all still ties together, even as it let the characters breathe.
