The death of the clan killer, Ghost, should have signaled an era of peace between the clans. However, the murders continue and relations between clans strain. The last thing anyone wants to do is trust those outside their clan, but when five cats receive a mysterious prophecy and awake in a Twoleg city far from home, their only hope of surviving rests in their ability to put their differences aside and work as one.

WHOA! I almost forgot about the Fatal Five Kitties! Mallick, Brit, Ashley, Charles, and Luba have joined the SAW Warriors AU and they're on a mission!

Marshwing (Mallick): a flighty Riverclan tom with a bad habit of overgrooming himself when worried. His father was deputy before dying in battle, leaving Marshwing to struggle under the weight of his legacy. At one point, he met a loner named Brick who let Marshwing help out raiding kittypet homes for food and treats. Feeling like a waste of a warrior, Marshwing wonders if he'll be happier as a kittypet. During the journey of the five, he finally starts to feel useful as he shares his swimming skills and knowledge of kittypet homes with the others.

Owlshade (Brit): a quiet and analytical Thunderclan she-cat who seems to blend into the shadows. Distrustful of others, she reveals very little about herself or her clan, but she does carefully observe the others and attempts to put together why they were all chosen for this trial.

Meadowblaze (Ashley): a reserved but smart Windclan she-cat and Ridgepaw's (Brent) mentor. Her leader, Broadstar (Halloran), is an ambitious leader with hopes of expanding Windclan's territory by allying with dangerous rouges and loners and disregarding the warrior code. While many attempt to win Broadstar's favor and embrace a new life of cruelty, Meadowblaze tries to uphold Windclan's fair and noble philosophy and raise her apprentice to be someone who is respected, not feared.

Breezewhisker (Charles): a cool and collected Windclan tom. Immediately takes on a leadership position within the group and appears to know more about the other cats than he should. Turns out he had been spying on the other clans at his leader's orders in hopes of being chosen as the new deputy once the old one dies. Although his logic and brute strength are valuable, he lacks self-awareness and empathy for others.

Deerheart (Luba): an ambitious and conflicted Shadowclan she-cat. She's slow to trust the group but still shows a great deal of care for them. During the journey, she starts to question if her home clan's philosophy of self-preservation can't be changed to benefit a greater goal of allowing all clans to thrive. She's no medicine cat, but when the others are hurt, her empathy drives her into action. She finds that she quite likes healing others instead of hurting.

set in a custom fount of bembo italic—vide ‹tagliente italic›. i have set the bembo roman ampersand finding it closer in form to one in tagliente’s fount, albeit unswashed; & it is interesting to note that tagliente’s st ligature was cut with round rather than long s—vide ‹tagliente italic 2›. for monotype’s bembo italic ampersand vide ‹humanist rant›—have not yet found an exact exemplar for this sort, but it is perhaps abstracted from a tagliente cancellaresca swash [cf. oscar ogg, Three Classics of Italian Calligraphy, dover, ny, 1953, p77]

Ruines du Château de Lavardin - Loir-et-Cher par Philippe_28 Via Flickr : Le château de Lavardin se situe sur un promontoire rocheux qui domine la vallée du Loir. Salomon Ier fut au XIe S. le premier seigneur de Lavardin. Au XIIe S., il devint la propriété des comtes de Vendôme et fut assiégé en vain en 1188 par Henri II Plantagenêt et son fils Richard-Coeur-de-Lion. En 1447 Charles VII et Agnès Sorel séjournèrent à Lavardin. En 1589, les troupes de la Ligue s'en emparèrent mais se rendirent l'année suivante aux troupes d'Henri IV commandées par le Prince de Conti. Henri IV ordonna son démantèlement par la suite.

Ce qui se cache derrière les épreuves

“Les épreuves nous enseignent qui nous sommes. Elles retournent la terre et nous montrent de quoi nous sommes faits.” a écrit Charles Spurgeon. Les épreuves ont pour but de nous enseigner. Quand nous faisons face à l’une d’elles nous découvrons quel genre d’étudiant nous voulons devenir, et le choix nous est donné de devenir à notre tour de bons messagers des leçons apprises ou au contraire de nous laisser broyer par les événements et les tribulations. Il est facile d’imaginer que notre foi et notre joie résisteront aux épreuves futures, mais c’est dans les jours mauvais que nous découvrons vraiment notre capacité à les endurer. Salomon a dit : “Quand tout va bien, sois heureux. Quand tout va mal, réfléchis. Dieu envoie le bonheur ou le malheur : ainsi, nous ne savons jamais ce qui va arriver” (Ecc 7. 14). Au lieu de nous plaindre, ce qui est le plus naturel, il nous encourage à adopter une nouvelle perspective qui est la réflexion. Qu’est-ce qui se cache derrière l’épreuve ? Quelles leçons pouvons-nous en tirer ? Sur l’île de Ré, et sans doute dans les villes de la plupart des îles françaises, on peut trouver de petits tableaux avec l’inscription : “Une mer calme n’a jamais fait une bon marin”. Ce sont les épreuves de la vie qui nous façonnent, en fonction de la manière de les aborder, et surtout vers qui nous nous tournons. Spurgeon, encore lui, a écrit : “J’ai appris à embrasser la vague qui me jetait sur le rocher”. Bien sûr il ne parlait pas d’un rocher sur la côte qui risquait de le déchiqueter, mais “du” Rocher, de Jésus sur lequel il fondait toute son espérance. Les épreuves sont là pour nous raffiner et nous préparer à affronter les futurs défis. Elles sont, en ce sens, d’excellents professeurs. Quel genre d’élèves sommes-nous ?
