Wendelstein Church Covered in Snow ~ A landmark located at the top of the city of Wendelstein, Bavaria, Germany, it is used as a wedding chapel and is considered the tallest church in Germany.  It’s noted, though, that in the ecclesiastical sense, there are taller churches in Germany where mass takes place.  Still, it’s an extremely beautiful scene.

Churches of Cornwall: neither St Mary's Old Chapel or Gwarnick Manor House Chapel exist in Cornwall, with the first standing a small distance from the house itself, but being demolished before 1736.

Polish chapel-shrines were placed at the beginning and end of a village in order to organise and mark the known, tamed territory. As Eliade wrote, “the house of God continuously sanctifies the world anew.” Chapel-shrines are such houses of God, heavenly architecture. Therefore, besides everything about the function of the sacred that has been described above, its protective function is of vital importance. It is to safeguard against danger. And this danger, so varyingly defined, is strongly connected to the landscape and natural environment. This is made evident precisely by the wayside votive chapel-shrines. On the coast these small structures are dedicated to those who did not return from sea or offered by those who pray for a safe return from fishing. These chapel-shrines are equipped with bells that warn and alert fishermen about events. In the mountains, chapel shines are erected as memorials to those who did not return from their treks or as prayers for protection when they go out to the mountain slopes. The forest also holds chapels dedicated to peculiar intentions. One of these intentions includes chapel-shrines dedicated to those who were surprised in the forest by hungry or mad wolves, or – even worse – those who had the bad luck to find human wolves, poachers, on their way. However, like in Tuchola Forest’s case, the chapel-shrines may indicate something deeper: they may help to discover, definemand determined the attitude towards the forest space, and therefore show how the sacred is used and how its borders are delineated.

Lola/White Chapel in Las Vegas.
Originally known as the 4th and 10th Ward building.
It's quite interesting that in 2000 the chapel was purchased and handed over to a local congergation, and as of 2023 it appears in disrepair. Pretty interesting for sure.

We all have that one movie or one story that literally changed our view of life.
For me, it was the Titanic. Life would have been different for me had I not watched it when I was a child.
And it was Jack’s fault. His and Rose’s love story was exceptionally developed in the film my young heart couldn’t accept that he (spoiler alert!) ended up dead!
Growing up, I came to embrace the fact that not even true love can stop death. Irrespective of who we are, or whose we are, no matter the age or life’s circumstance, death comes at us all. Jack’s life wasn’t preserved by his true love. Rose’s love couldn’t save Jack.
But conversely, and more importantly, not even death can stop true love. True love persists as life persists.
Death didn’t stop Rose from living her life as Mrs. Jack Dawson, did it? As soon as she was safe on land, she turned her back from her old life and pursued the life she and Jack wanted.
