Another take it and run idea- once upon a time someone posted something with hint of this idea and I haven’t been able to forget it. So here’s a snippet- if you want to grab it make into something bigger I’d love to read it!

Before doing anything with Steve Eddie always takes off his rings, sets them on his side table. They make a little noise, each time the same, as they tumble into each other. And then Eddie slowly takes Steve apart, Steve slipping into sub space so nicely under Eddie’s hands.

One day in the kitchen Steve is working at the table and Eddie is about to start dinner, so he takes off his rings and sets them near Steve. He starts cooking, chattering away about his day. It takes a minute for him to realize Steve hasn’t responded. When he turns around, there’s Steve, sitting so pretty at the table, his hands resting gently on his thighs, his eyes glossed over as they track Eddie’s movements slowly. He’s so far gone that he barely moves when Eddie steps into his space.

“What happened baby, where’d you go?” Eddie tips Steve face up to meet his eyes, Steve swallows heavily and let’s his eyes drag to the rings sitting a foot away on the edge of the table.

And that’s how Eddie learns he accidentally Pavlov dogged Steve into sub-space at the sound of his rings being set down on a wooden surface.

jack is the one who believes in zodiac signs and astrology. davey is the one who thinks it’s complete bullshit.

but davey is also the one who searches up taurus and cancer zodiac compatibility when he’s first developing his crush on jack, just on the off chance that the stars really do have something to do with his love life. and davey is also the one who is so much of a realist that he thinks jack’s ramblings about star, moon, and sun signs are stupid, but god if he doesn’t love listening. and davey is the one to secretly look through the astrology memes that jack posts to his instagram story, just to learn more insight on how jack sees himself, based on which memes he relates to.

and davey doesn’t believe in astrology. he doesn’t think that the stars can dictate who he loves, how he loves, what he loves- he doesn’t think that his life can be tied to something as lofty as space and birth.

but listening to jack ramble on about it, and realizing that jack believes in this because it helps him make sense out of the world- helps him make sense out of himself- makes davey realize that maybe he can make an exception to the belief.

Currently… oc ifying both General Huaiyan and Argens Regia (High Elder of the Xianzhou Zhuming) because I have a multi chap fic planned all about my personal headcanons (I have a lot) for Yingxing’s childhood which will later bleed into some other fics I have planned to write and ah it feels so

I have a bunch of stuff planned yet again, adding another fic to my list but I really do want to write all of what I have planned, I’m just putting the original planet with the transflormation(?) disease on the back burner while I focus on this

Many plans, it’s going to be fun, sorry that I’m so obsessed with Baby Yingxing and Huaiyan and the Zhuming, I just need to know more and I won’t be able to probably for multiple years from now ToT I need to scratch my itch and fill in the gaps

This will in fact also be where I fill in the gaps in my head for how I see Yingxing’s family having been because I can and I have opinions

what i liked:

high quality production and amazing performances

great representation of disability

all the characters, even the side ones, are fully fledged and nuanced. this show is actually a great example of how effective visual language and good dialogues can help conveying informations about the characters without falling into exposition dumps that take away from the feeling of immersion in the story. luna’s character development, in particular, is fantastic and the use of colors, lighting and setting to show it is [chef’s kiss]

janine gutierrez (harry) and lovi poe (luna) have a very nice chemistry and the relationship between the two characters feels incredibly natural. instant attraction doesn’t always seem believable to me, but in this case it fully does, maybe because there’s also an initial awkwardness to it that makes it really charming and close to real life: the characters talk over each other, stumble over their words, hesitate over the right thing to say….. it’s a carefully crafted unpolished feeling that makes you forget you’re watching a show

communication and consent are SO SEXY it’s honestly insane how sexy and hot those are

it features what has become one of my favorite female friendships of all time!!!!

the cinematography is very immersive and atmospheric, you really get to breathe in the night time and inhabit all the different spaces these characters live in, which is also helped by the editing and the framing of each scenes (some of them looks like paintings)

need me the entire soundtrack of this show tbh

what i disliked:

'disliked' is definitely too strong of a word, but this is one of those rare cases where i wish the show was just a little bit longer. around episodes 4 and 5 the pacing feels slightly rushed to me and i would have liked to linger more on the different stages of harry and luna's relationship. i also would have loved to see more of harry's job as a DJ and learn more about why she wanted to become one in the first place

as an italian, seeing spaghetti getting broken in half got kill bill sirens blasting in my head (JOKING IM JOKING) [but also please don't break your damn spaghetti]

so I was thinking about this line from the lmk s4 special

and it reminded me of red crimson hororen because of course it did and now I'm being unwell about them again

in most of the original manga horo and ren never actually say how much they care about each other, it's mostly implied/hidden under bickering

not in red crimson red crimson is all feelings

they just have this single scene together and it makes me feel so many emotions man

from the original manga you can tell these two trust and care about it each other. but man does it just hit different in this scene. yeah that heterosexual family life didn't fix you but I won't let you become a demon? #i had to look back in earlier volumes to double-check the contractions thing #and while they aren't as absent as i originally remembered #he definitely doesn't use them often #so i'm still counting this #otherwise the 'but' thing is literally a canon thing in idw #it stands out a lot #both these things 100% apply to second chance metal too #except in his case he straight up never uses contractions to the point it's a deliberate choice #starting sentences with 'but' is more just an unintentional/personal habit of his #sea talks #this is a general headcanon but also a #second chance au #thing

after sending a few more asks, i'm doing a lil reading, and i'm gonna check his comic background, but according to his movie fandom page!! miguel speaks japanese on top of english and spanish and i know the dude's busy as it is, but i just like the idea of him being able to speak to chiyo and yuzu in their language and maybe helping them with english a bit. chiyo's good at it, but she's learned from school and tv, so practice would be nice, and yuzu probably doesn't know much english other than the bits she retained from high school and college. i imagine there would be tech to help get around language barriers, but i know both of them would rather be able to communicate on their own.

i don't usually focus on lil details like that for the sake of not complicating threads, but!! that won't stop me from thinking about it and rambling a lil bit :' )
