Brandy wondering why Wolfgang Munch just doesn't seem to like her very mu(n)ch. Was it something that she said?
(Also the Maker's solution to the rotational save relationship decay is to cheat everyone the BELOVED reward trait, which she found out about recently.)

Wolfgang asked for a private walk with Juliet. Edward agreed a bit too eagerly because he never thought anyone would be interested in his daughter. Unlike Ruth, Juliet lacked in presenting her feminine side. She was unladylike most of the time and it did raise a few eyebrows.
“Thought I’d let you take a breather again,” Wolfgang finally spoke after a moment of silence.
"Thank you. My mother had me peeling potatoes for the past hour. I thought about chopping off my own hand,” Juliet joked.
"How are you? I heard from my mother and Julian that your sister has passed. I’m sorry for your loss,” he said.
Juliet’s smile disappeared from her face. It’s been nearly a year since the funeral and she has tried to repress her feelings ever since.
"I prefer if we don’t speak of her right now. Every waking moment she’s all I think about. I couldn’t even apologize to her,” Juliet felt the tears wail up in her eyes again.
“It’s neither your sister’s or your fault you know. Just the other day the Lovendale family lost their son a week ago. I’ve been asking around and it’s a lot more common than you’d think,” Wolfgang said.
Juliet perked up at his statement even though she felt she shouldn’t. After all those families lives would never be the same again if their child never returns.
“So you’ve been researching? For me?” Juliet teased.
Wolfgang chuckled, “I like to know things is all. Not because it pertains to you dear Juliet.”
She smiled, “My father would be sad to hear this. You know he thinks you fancy me.”
He let out a real laugh this time and she joined in. It was silly because they have never felt an ounce bit of romance when they’re alone.
“I don’t think I could ever fancy a girl or anyone for that matter. The thought just leaves a sour taste in my mouth for some odd reason,” he said making a face.
Juliet had never given romance a thought. She didn’t feel those butterflies Ruth is always on about whenever she’s with Julian. At least she didn’t feel that way for a boy.
“I,” she began to speak but remained silent instead.
He waited for her to speak again but she had already closed herself off again. He sighed and lifted her face but she wouldn’t quite meet his eyes, “You don’t have to say anything if you’re not ready.”
“Things would be better if I wasn’t the way I am. My father always talks about me in such a way that makes me feel like waste. Realistically I can’t live with them forever and they’ll think of me strange for not finding myself a husband. I just don’t want to live a lie,” Juliet finally let everything out.
She hid her face in his arms and the remain like that for a couple of minutes before Wolfgang spoke.
“It wouldn’t be a lie if it were me. We could go off to San Myshuno so we’d be away from your family in case they catch on,” he said.
Juliet was surprised by his proposal, “Wolfgang I don’t have the kind of money to up and leave Windenburg. I’m not going to allow you to pay for everything.”
“It should be the husband’s duty to provide for his wife,” Wolfgang cringed and Juliet snorted at his comment.
“At least that’s what my brother says I hardly pay him any mind. Nevertheless, I have more than enough money and you can pay it back when we leave. What do you say?” he asked.
It was tempting but could they really get away with it?
“I want the pretties ring you can find,” she said with a smile.

Consuelo decided to pay Mila a visit. It has been a while since they sat down for cup of coffee.
“I do hope it’s no trouble that brought Ruth along,” Consuelo said timidly.
She was still in awe by Mila’s house which she inherited from her late husband who died of an unknown illness. She wondered if her house would ever look like this one day.
“Nonsense! That is why I have nannies dear especially with two boys wrecking the house. Maybe they’ll tire each other out before we finish our coffee,” she said nonchalantly.
They chatted quite a bit as they finished their coffee. Sure enough all three children were sound asleep in the bench nearby.
“By the way how is your husband’s business going?” she asked.
“He makes enough to put food on our table. He does come home terribly late and hardly spends time with poor Ruth,” Consuelo said a bit saddened.
Mila drummed her fingers for a moment before she smiled, “I know just the thing I’ll put a good word in with my husband’s friend. Pablo I believe his name was.”
“Mila how could I ever repay you for your kindness?” Consuelo asked. She has never met someone with such a kind heart.
“I can’t be certain how well the pay will be but it will be a stable salary and he’ll be home by dinner that’s for certain. I found it rather odd Gunther sees him leave the town square before 5 which should leave plenty of time to come home early,” she said a bit skeptical.
Consuelo didn’t know this at all. She always assumed he stayed out past 6 which would explain why he comes home late. “He does go to a small pub from time to time. I believe he takes the long way home so the smell doesn’t latch onto his clothes so often,” Consuelo said with a small smile.

Flashback (a week since Elisabeth disappeared).
Tumblr media
Juliet and Wolfgang walked towards the market place for the twentieth time and each time Juliet was losing hope. Seven days of the house filled with worry and sadness.
“If I hadn’t let her play with the other kids this wouldn’t have happened,” Juliet muttered.
“It is no one fault Juliet. My mother says it’s possible someone from the city could have picked her as a maid by accident,” Wolfgang said.
She shuttered, “Papa thinks the same. I really hope that is not the case for my dear sister.”
They began asking the kids around the market if Elisabeth had shown up again but no one knew anything. The last they’d seen of her she was looking at toys being sold by an elderly lady.
Juliet knew that Elisabeth could have been mistaken for a maid because of her skin color. To the whites they all looked the same, they saw no difference. Would it have been any different if she had wandered with Elisabeth. Would she have been taken as well?
Juliet often pondered about this possibility but she couldn’t quite discuss this with anyone. Ruth didn’t have to worry about this as much because she looked almost like them and the twins were only 11, who only cared about playing in the river. Somehow talking to Wolfgang helped her get out of her head. Even though his appearance may grant him a leverage as soon as he talked his thick German accent gave him away, that he was anything like the rest of them.
They began a special bond and Juliet felt safe around him. She didn’t feel the need to choose her words carefully and she can tell him all her worries and frustrations.
