manga spoilers
I saw the final page spread as a spoiler accidentally this week because it was passed around so much, and I think I guessed why it works correctly.
The example in the chapter is a recent one from the Land of the Sun arc, but it reminds me of something from way, way back in the Eye of the Midnight Sun saga where Asta absorbed mana into his sword and released it as an attack, so presumably he could also do this with anti-magic.
So to me, the chapter works because it seems like an extrapolation from previous instances. I'm excited to see what the Black Bulls do with this gift
Now what I'm curious about is if you give anti-magic to living things, how long does it last? Is it somewhat permanent like with the swords? Many questions.

Sooo to me nighteye and all might's situation reflect bkdk. i guess the main reason hori included these quotes here was because the person at stake at this part was all might. But man does it parallel katsudeku. From way back to the start of the series, and throughout the series.
> The need and want to save the other: 'prevent the future in which you get killed' + 'searched for a way to change things'.
Are these not things izuku did try to do for katsuki?? and what katsuki DID DO.
just some incidents between the 2 boys that i can think of relating to the quotes for now:
- sludge incident
- LoV kidnapping aka one of izuku's self-deemed top failure (soon to replaced by what he saw he was too late to in ch 367)
- katsuki helping izuku train ofa
- katsuki saving izuku's life
- even izuku leaving UA to ensure his loved ones(ahem kacchan) weren't targeted
pls i want to crawl into both of bkdk's minds and scribble everything down.
> on a similar tangent, related to this above panel, katsuki also faced a gruesome end that awaited him, and continued down that path.
> katsuki got up and faced the undoubtedly terrifying shigaraki, and still tried his best to win. In a bid to keep the image of victory izuku knows him to be, a subtle nod to the class where izuku and katsuki were paired up against all might, and izuku got angry at katsuki for considering the idea of giving up just because he didnt want to use izuku's power/cooperate.
i wanna squeeze more out but for now all i can do is to scribble down some parallels i saw between these duos. basically bkdk has eaten into my mind.

she’s strong enough to become kage (hokage)
Kushina is mentally and physically strong, I can see her being a leader or kage, she is brave and fierce is ready to put her life on the line.
GIVE IT UP FOR THE RED HOT HABANERO!!!!
she’s always ready to sacrifice herself for her loved ones as we have already seen this Naruto and Minato.
As a Uzumaki, she has huge chakra reserves, stamina, and longevity.
she was talented and knowledgeable in fūinjutsu. She even taught Minato fūinjutsu which included Four Symbols Seal and Eight Trigrams Sealing Style etc.

survived Kurama’s extraction which is impressive considering that Naruto almost died because of that.
even after giving birth to Naruto and getting Kurama extracted, still had the power to restrain Kurama.
her weak version, she gave birth and had Kurama extracted because there's no feat for her strongest version (when she's ya'know not half dead). When a character is already powerful at their weakest version then we can consider them really powerful.
the portion of chakra she left in Naruto was enough to help him get KCM1.
really skilled at Ninjutsu and Fuinjutsu. Fourth databook her nature release Wind, Water and Yin Release
Ch 367
if there’s ever a side story the Uzumaki deserve more shine. Also wonder how Kushina used her ninjutsu and fuinjutsu. Also memories of her country
she’s easily Kage level.
side note:
Kushina wasn’t really all that serious about becoming Hokage, at least not until she fell in love with Minato.
Didn't have anything to do with Minato wanted to become the Hokage as well and she just didn’t want to compete with him.
she wanted to impress everyone.
Kushina is like Naruto looking for the respect and the acknowledgement of everyone, but by meeting Minato, someone who saved and supported her through her lonely life, she just didn’t care about recognition anymore, she had a great person by her side and that was enough for her.
Naruto wanted that also, recognition but he never stopped wanting to become the Hokage because over the years, he made friends he cares about and he realized that he didn’t need to become the Hokage to have that.
Like Itachi said: Becoming Hokage isn’t about acknowledgement, he realized how important his friends are.
Without them, Naruto would be like Obito, that’s why he can’t lose them.
Naruto realize that he had to become Hokage to protect his village and friends.
One of the many characters/clans that deseverd more screentime. I will always throw shade at the Uchiha clan lmao.
Sometimes we need more than just snippets in the past especially when a certain characters play a role and clan has a alot meaning

we've known for a while that novel lloyd and webcomic lloyd are two different characters but this really shows the kind of character the adaptation team has turned lloyd into.
like. i cannot begin to emphasize how not true this is for novel!lloyd. at all. he's constantly lying about his feelings both to others and to himself, a big part of his emotional conflict with javier is about javier wanting lloyd to show him how he truly feels and lloyd lying straight to his face about it, being dishonest about his emotions and feelings is a core part of his character and him finally letting himself be open and honest is meant to be the payoff of his emotional arc.
the way he feels and the things he shows and says are not the same.
heck not even his feelings and his thoughts are the same!
It was truly a strange thing. He was giving away a tremendous gift without anything in return. Yet, his heart was light and filled with relief. And even though he said it was a wasted opportunity or whatever, truthfully speaking, he didn't feel that way.
Tsk. It's not because that hooligan Frontera made me weak, or because I feel guilty. I'm doing this because I'm tired of its whining. It is beyond annoying to hear Frontera whining, insisting, and begging for me to take responsibility and help out.
Lloyd thought this was an opportunity for him to get rid of one less burden of his. It was the cost of getting rid of this pesky burden. This was an investment. So, he concluded that he wasn't being a fool. He was doing this for Arcos and Marbella Frontera. Lloyd reiterated these thoughts in his head and pulled himself together.
like. he will lie to himself about his reasons for doing kind things and justify them as actually selfish and self-interested when we know that's not true.
he betrays his feelings with his actions, him being a good person and being unable to hide it or change it despite his best efforts is also an integral part of his characterization but it's not something he willingly shows or something he's even willing to admit to himself much less to other people.
which. is exactly the opposite of what this scene was about? i think? like. the conflict here was,, someone trying to prove that lloyd's actions aren't actually selfless and that he has a hidden agenda and lloyd proving that notion wrong by rejecting. but,, that's exactly the opposite of what lloyd wants to project about himself?
like. this is a man that when told directly to his face that he's a good person who when left to his own devices will help others for no gain to himself by a higher being whose literal job is to judge souls' goodness he will just go "nuh uh" and insist everything he does is for his personal gain and not the greater good or anything like that.
he would not be emotionally honest enough to have this kind of realization and much less to share it with some fucking guy trying to kill him.
i just. i want to know so bad what the adaptation team wanted to prove with this interaction. like. what was the purpose of it. what did they want to tell us about lloyd by having him say this.
personally i find it so diametrically opposed to lloyd's characterization in the novel that i just. i don't understand how they could've come up with this scene if they understood his character in the novel like. at all.
but. is that anything new lmao

BnHA/MHA chapter 367 reaction and spoilers
I love the chapter cover. Everyone chilling together – student, hero, and villain having pizza. It’s also nice to see Twice again. I missed him.
Love how Midoriya’s getting a ride on a fighter jet. Not like he can kaiou-ken his way here after all.
I like how there aren’t any words, just the panels following Midoriya’s gaze as he assesses the situation.
I think it’s interesting that when Midoriya snaps, we don’t get the demented hedgehog look but something that looks akin to Kurogiri with glowing eyes.
I like that while Mirio can’t actually do something against AFO, he can help keep Midoriya from losing himself completely, which is what AFO wants. I also like that the focus returns to Shigaraki because I’m also curious how much of him remains inside this AFOraki creature too.
