*SPOILERS FOR CH 71 AHEAD*
While I love DamiAnya, I sometimes get the feeling that some people reduce Damian's character on his feelings for Anya too much.
Best example being him standing up to take the bomb instead of Anya. Yes, he partly did it because he really cares about Anya.
But that's not the only reason.
It's also because he believes that if he wants to be a good leader in the future, he needs to show courage and be willing to "protect his compatriots".
He can't just sit back and do nothing when other people are in danger. That's not his ideal of a politician/leader.
I think this gives us an insight into his values and views on leadership, and a big insight into his true character beyond his feelings for Anya.
Yes, Damian cares about Anya, but he also cares about being brave, reliable and a good future leader.
