The new updates came out which means he's got a new design now, so I shall delay this upload no longer! Ofc, this is fanart for the infamous CAS by @somerandomdudelmao! - CFTD (Contest For The Diamond): BFFFW's predecessor. nothing too special but its good to know the vague lore

- BFS (Battle For Something): Made by OceanPerson! The first season is actually over and the second season (called The Second Struggle) is in the works

- TP (Title Pending): Another one by OceanPerson, only one episode so far but it looks very good! No eliminatjons

- MSC BB (My Second Camp But Better): Created by bfsl-official, this is a reboot of one of the SOSC's most popular camps, but in show form lol

U.S. Flight Test Squad receives new F-35A for upgrade testing

A new F-35A fighter, fresh out of the factory, found its new home at Edwards Air Base, California, on August 1, part of a fleet that will test new features of fifth-generation fighters.

The 461st Flight Test Squadron (FLTS) and the F-35 Lightning II Integrated Test Force will receive new jets in the coming years, which will be used to test the Technical Refresh 3 and Block 4 configurations of the newest U.S. Air Force fighter that will create tactical and operational advantages over competitors.

"The 461st needs aircraft; our complex test missions require four instrumented test jets to fully evaluate the F-35 combat systems," said Lieutenant Colonel Jonathan Bearce, a U.S. Air Force reservist of the 370th Flight Test Squadron currently flying to the 461st "Deadly Jesters."

The 461 FLTS is the Department of Defense's main development flight test unit for sensors, weapons and software in all three variants of the F-35. The team was behind all previous test projects that have put new features into the field for F-35 operating units around the world.

“The F-35 is modernizing from a Tech Refresh 2 configuration to a Tech Refresh 3 configuration. But we are still developing resources for both configurations for the coming years. Development testers need to evaluate these resources using 4 aircraft formations in each configuration, which increases the total size of our fleet," Bearce explained.

Software and hardware updates aim to increase the capabilities and survival capabilities of Lightning II in contested combat environments.

"Your iPhone is updated all the time, that's the same thing for the F-35," Bearce said. “The F-35 is gaining more computing power to be able to host new features as well as future weapons as needed.”

These future updates will benefit the 826 F-35 aircraft in the field in the U.S. Air Force, Marine Corps and Navy, as well as the eight partner nations of the F-35 program and the 15 nations participating in the F-35 program. The new Tech Refresh 3 aircraft will leave the assembly line from the summer of 2023. The "Deadly Jesters" will use their larger test fleet to ensure that these jets are ready for combat from the beginning.
