HAIIII welcome :) to preface this im normal i swear. anyway The Abyss is what i like ta call my Horrible Horrible Maze, i made it w/ the goal of making the worst possible experience in minecraft to torment my friends ^_^
I enjoy putting people in situations and studying them :D
On that note! everyone who runs the abyss (24 people at current count) I time and write a couple notes on them! the abyss is honestly half maze half personality test LMAO. at current moment the quickest time goes to @ghostpajamas with a baffling 03:24 (wild that he got out so quick, i win tho cause i haunt his dreams), and longest goes to the beloved @rendogdomesticated with 1:35:54 <3 special shout out ta my dearest @theoctagon tho wolff ur insane i love u. guy goes inta the abyss for fun and has like 10 pages and counting of insane person phsyical notes tryna map it out (hes reported that hes gone through the first one 60 times and the 2nd one 5 jesus chriiiistttt). the abyss is fond of Pilot :) also if wolff is the favourite than @potionofinstantdamage is the Least favourite, rude ass set the place on fire when he got stuck in there :( oof ouchie
Highlights from my notes include @quack-city running backwards and upon me asking Why, simply replied “what if there’s slenderman :(‘ ... cant argue w/ that! he also hadda stop mid run so we decided its funnier if he’s just stuck in there forever. @newtbeetle was in there for like an hour and would NOT shut up about Paul Dano the whole time which was a time (love u beebs. ur isnane). my two test runners are @kishdoodles and @officialgleamstar and they had about the same time but like Opposite reactions it was very funny, kish treated it like they were a streamer n kept a like constant chatter, and travvy was like DEAD silent the whole time n Intensely focused akjewkjr tbh outta all 24 runners trav’s been prob the most like, methotical bout it? LIKE I SAID personality test. i Love studying people.
In regards to its origins I came up w/ the idea back in like feb/march ish of this year and from start to finish it took me like 2 weeks ish i was on the Grind. u dont understnad how much black concrete this thing took. hell on earth,,, darkwoods has an economy/shopping district and i bought out like All the sand/gravel available akjwekjr the rest i hadda gather myself n God gravel sucks. also ive killed So Many Squids. the 2nd abyss was much easier ta gather supplies for cause i could ask for help w/ supplies n i kept the first one a Complete secret minus my test runners (i hadda bitch at SOMEONE while makin it or i wouldve died i think. speakin of the first abyss has a death count of 13 and the 2nd one has like, 5 or somefin? rlly shouldve writen that down akjwerjk those are Entirely me dying in the process of buildin them btw. its not a true Spain Build unless its mildly dangerous <3) The 2nd one also made me learn redstone, notably i specifically studied Tango’s decked out process vids from s7, tho i really only stole like two aspects of it n i couldnt even get one ta work properly LMAO
The second abyss took me like, wayy longer ta make, bout two months ish (i finished it like mid july). not necessarily in actual like, time spent building but cause in the process of makin it i had Two month long events i was in (Voiceteam in may and Art fight in july) so that distracted me a bit wkwnekeneie Im a bit more secretive bout the second abyss in general since not That many people have actually ran it compared ta the first n theres actually like, Things that can be spoiled in there <3 i like seein peep’s initial reactions its much more satisfying.
This didnt happen w/ everyone but i think a like, Core part of running the abyss is getting emotionally attached ta weird things. i wouldve said just torches until a few days ago when Tac (onea the rat server mods) ran it and claimed the stack of pumpkin pies i gave her as family. But Prior Ta That several people have had very intense emotions bout the redstone torches, whether love or hate or both, key example ft dog:

In regards to lore the abyss is a parasitic entity that infects anyone who gets stuck in there n slowly compells them ta go build their own lmao. note that ive only called the second abyss the Second one and not Abyss 2, because its technically just The Abyss as well cause theres many of them i just made it second wowjdkenejd (a real example of this is Wolff gettin obsessed w/ the abyss n then goin n buildin his own build called the Tower :) very excited bout that) The Abyss has a weird like fucked up warlock bond w/ my goddess oc The Overseer :D Her design’s vaugely based off my irl friend @hotcollectionoftubs cause her creation The Hole on a creative world her n some other friends of mine are on was onea the main insperations for certain aspects of the abyss’ lore :D mainly the teal in the colour palette and the whole ‘the [hole/abyss] provides’ thing.

Just watch The Broken Hearts Gallery on netflix and it was a fun movie! Like the dynamic between the two leads was cute, liked both characters, and the cast was pretty cool. My favourite scene is the birthdayh/karaoke scene. It was super dooper light hearted and fun! Amd i feel like all the characters were at their strongest there, they dis a good job of playing off of each other and the comedh felt the crispest. So did the chemistry with the leads. The main dude's heart eyes face is crazy in that scene. The comedy was also pretty good, loved the running joke that the lawyers boyfriend never spoke.
That being said it did fall into some of the comon tropes of modern romcoms, theres a group of 3 friends who share an apartment together. Two of them are POC (one of them is a lesbian with intimacy issues who can't stay in one relationship long enough) and the third friend is white. Which is fine i dont really mind it, just a pettern i keep noticing.
But i did have a problem with the editing. It felt kind of awkward and blotchy in places, like after they meet the second time and a stranger attacks the male lead, the it cuts to thme walking down a alley, then it cuts to them entering a hotel. Tjat entire sequence felt very staccato. The editong is one reason but i also think it was the camera use, like it looks lile they only had one camera for the scene when they needed ilat least 2-3. It made the dialogue feel weird and choppy cause it looks like they did one line from an actor, cut moved the camera to get the line from the other actor, cut and kept going like that till their convo was finished. And this would have been fine if the editing was just a tinge better. And then the stranger came in out of nowhere and dirsupts the scene after veing very jarring. And i know that this was done for comedic purposes, but i dont think the delivery worked because the camera work and the editing did not allow it to be.
What i think shouldve happened is that they shoild use two cameras to record both the actors. So they can cut between each easily and the flow of the convo would be natural. As for the stranger barging into frame, i think it wouldve been funnier if they amped up the argument that they were having and got a shot of the stranger noticing it from accross the street or something and racing towards them and when we get close enougj it swithes to the hand held camera as she beats the guy with her bag. Thats funny! To me anyways.
But my main issues with this movir is that it doesnt have the strongest script. Some of yhe dialogue felt really awkward 1. Because it felt out of place (like in the same scene i mentioned above, their conversation didnt feel appropriate to what happened previously, and some of it doesnt seem in character for Lucy, like i feel like she wouldve tried harder to get back in and talk to her ex but she didn't) 2. It felt too corny (in the same scene abkve the lead guy, Nick, says "i just saved u in there, normally what would happen now is that id get a thank u and you'd fet a you're welcome" or something like that. Too corny is not bad, but its not good when the audience cant believe/ move past how corny the line is.
3. The script doesnt follow character grosth that well. For example, at the beginning of the movie, Lucy, the gallery assistant makes a complete ass of herself as shes doing an introfuction infront of a huge crowd at the openining of an exhibition. She wasnt able to finish her speech and impress her boss because she drunkenly fell off the stage and was promptly fired afterward. Now it would make sense for her to take that moment back at the end of the movie, making a speech about all the things in her life that brought her to this moment where she has curated her own gallery and was able to get rehired by her boss so she finally has a second chance to impress her. BUT THEN Nick comes barreling in a ruins her big speech moment! She didnt finish her speech, there was no big redeemable moment, instead there was a public declaration of love and everyone forced her to come down and kiss him. Thats not cute! Its coercion!!! And that kiss was undeserved!
What i think shouldve happened is that Lucy shouldve had her big speech! Then in the process of the speech realised that she kept nothing from her daliance with Nick because she was in love with him. And then after her speech she would notice Nick in the corner somewhere and he's holding something. Then they go off somewhere private and he compliments her on her speech, and tells her how amazing she was etc etc. Then she notices the thing in his hands and guess what! Its the sign from the hotel that he initially named after the ex-girlfriend that broke his heart! And he explains everything and apologizes for the confusion andsays i love u and Lucy is falling deeper, and then she asks him what he is going to rename the hotel and he brings up the neon sign that says "Broken hearts hotel" and the music swells and they kiss! Then they go out and find their friends listening in! And theres the comedy, then it ends with a dance party.
Like that feels way more desrved then whatever the hell i just watched. YOU DONT FUCK WITH SONEONES JOB AND CAREER LIKE THAT, U JUST DON'T.

ok so in angies perfect brain world hellscape: vlad adopts him and he and vlad work together bc the fentons have found out dannys secret and vlad/danny are sure hes going to di eand are trying to protect him and the fentons are chasing him cause Oh No our son has been possessed by a ghost or smthn this Entire Time but then theres a climactic battle with like the guys in white and danny helps them and they go Oh No Oh Geez but **before that** vlads secret comes out and he gets to yell at the fentons for making danny scared and also this entire time sam and tucker are trying to stop both the fentons and the giw and almost succeeding at every step to keep danny safe and danny only actually meets his parents face to face bc the giw want to lock down the entire fenton family and study them for ghost things. and danny almost saves them but he fails cause hes 14. and vlad almost deserts them but he RELUCTANTLY goes "ugh i dont want these bitches DEAD" so he actually saves the day. not in a self sacrificial way he continues to be a weird ghost uncle who hates jack/maddie both
and uhhhhhh [throws dart] also dash is his boyfriend by this final episode bc i wouldve put in more episodes before but if i cant do that then within this episode when the secret comes out dash has at least somewhat of a moment of "fenton. i think i am gay at you" near the end and they blush and look away and then hold hands.
objectively this is the weaker of my two options but this one is funnier and more lighthearted and also works off the assumption that i also get to rewrite the entire series so. theres that.
but.
if i have to be CANON COMPLIANT/i cant eradicate every other episode perfectly and i only have phantom planet to remake, id want to actually pick up where reign storm left off where vlad wants to become the ghost king, and he does, and hes doing this whole tyrannical rule thing after thinking he killed pariah dark, but heres the issue is if you remember how Kitty worked in her debut episode, wearing her clothes basically just summoned her back into the hosts body-- and wearing the crown of fire / ring of rage will do that with pariah, so vlad is being a bitch and an asshole but hes slowly getting taken over by pariah and becoming even more bloodthirsty (and keeps contacting/subjugating clockwork to make more ppl to fight on his side. see: dark dan also gets a payoff) and in the climax danny realizes Oh. This Isn't Vlad Anymore and has to actually restore him tohis Him. maybe with blood blossoms or something and literally eradicates the half-ghost out of vlad. vlad is still bitter and morally questionable but he can start being a good person now even without his powers. in this ending i dont want the secret to come out in just the last episode so dannys identity actually does remain a secret and the big ending is that the crown/ring are shattered and there will never be another ghost king

“It's done,” you exclaimed excitedly, immediately shutting your laptop. Glancing around at your project partners around you, you all passed high fives around. When you got to the last male you gave him a half hearted high five, pulling away just as quickly as it happened. You began chatting with the rest of your team members as you all began packing up. You hadn’t even noticed the slight redness that crept up his face.
“You plan on sitting there all night Samu.” Other than Osamu you were the last person to leave the small study room. Your question came from the doorway, as he just shook his head. Glancing at the numbers displayed on your phone you continued. “Well it's already 2am. Come on, we’ve been at this all day, and we present the proposal in the morning remember?”
Before you could completely walk out the door, The call of your name stopped you. “Hey, do you need a ride back?” A small smile shot crossed your face as you nodded, and soon the two of you were out the library and making your way down the eerily silent campus. “Sorry I parked so far, didn’t plan on being here so late.”
“It's fine,” you hummed out, kicking a small pebble along the sidewalk. “Besides, we had fun and got a badass proposal out of it. We all worked great together and bouncing ideas off of you was cool.”
“I guess we make a pretty good team,” his eyes caught yours and all you could do was nod.
“Yeah, we do. Don't we?”
That was two years ago. After getting put in the same group project for your business class the two of you became nearly inseparable. With similar majors, the two of you found each other studying together, and even scoring internships at the same company.
“Ok I think that the company should rethink their expansion plan. When you look at the current revenue in comparison to the expenses we have a problem. For 1, they are spending too much on-” Osamu’s mind completely blanked as he watched you talk. The two of you were currently overlooking the business’s future plans and were tasked with improving them. This was just one of the many times Osamu Miya found himself completely and utterly fucked.
From how smart and passionate you were, to how kind and funny, and how you weren’t even afraid to put his brother in his place. Osamu fell hard. It didn’t make it any better that the two of you were a complete dream team when you worked together, and because of that found yourselves paired together the majority of the time. “Hey Samu, what do you think?”
The gray haired man made his way over to the whiteboard you’d written over standing nearly shoulder to shoulder with you. “Sounds good. I just think we should-” his fingers brushed against yours lingering momentarily as he took the marker out of your hand and wrote his own notes and added to your drawings. He couldn’t help but find himself smiling to himself at your terribly drawn buildings. He remembers the first time he saw you try to draw and compliment your descriptions. He called them trash but the way you laugh had him not minding at the shitty stick figures and lopsided buildings over the years.
Once he finished he glanced over at you to notice you shuffle. “Hungry?” he raised his eyebrow at you as you nodded. He knew it. That specific shuffle where you’d slightly stand on your toes before shifting your weight to the right was a telltale sign that you weren’t feeling the best. And given the time of day, he figured you were pretty much ready for lunch.
“Ya liked the onigiri last week right?” At your nod he continued. “Well I changed the filling this time. Wanna give it a try?” Osamu mentally cringed at the memory of his roommates the night prior as he prepped the dish.
“Oh c’mon Samu. I’m hungry,” his twin complained as he swatted his hand away. “I don’t care Tsumu. It's not for ya.” His annoyance grew at the blonde’s studpid laugh. “Of course not. It's for (Y/N). God yer such a simp.”
“I think sucker is a nicer way of putting it,” the twins’ third roommate called out lazily. Osamu ignored the ‘Shut up Suna’ from his brother as he continued his task.

“Come on Samu, it’ll be fun.” You drew out the n as you leaned against the kitchen’s counter. Your friend stood over the stove as the smell of food overtook your senses. “Yeah Samu, it’ll be fun,” a third voice chimed in mimicking yours. “Fuck off,” the two over you said at the ame time. Your eyes drifted to the annoying blonde, while Osamu didn’t even bat an eye. “You two are so cute ya know. Talking the same.” This time you wordlessly flipped him off before turning your attention back.
“Come on Samu, it's gonna be spring break. What better way to spend it then getting drunk and having fun with our friends. Dancing the night away and taking on the town. You know it sounds like fun.”
And that's how Osamu found himself alongside you and several of your mutual friends, mildly intoxicated, sitting at an empty park acting like teenagers again. Osamu isn’t sure the heat he's feeling is from the alcohol, his reaction to the cooled night air, or the way your hand held his the entire walk from the bar as you half haphazardly dragged him along
The laughs of your friends were drowned out as the two of you sit on the park fixture on the opposite end of the park. The alcohol had started wearing off as the two of you settled on just a comfortable buzz. The two of you laughed along to the tik tok videos flashing on your phone the buzz making things even funnier than they usually wouldve been.
“See aren’t you glad you came out tonight,” your head fell onto his shoulder, as you locked the device.
“Yeah, I am. Too bad I’m not gonna remember the first half of this night.” His head fell back against the park fixture as he shut his eyes. “Oh don’t worry. I have the video of you almost falling off the ledge from earlier,” you teased out thinking back to how you had challenged him to walk the ledge outside of the bar, him nearly falling several times. You had to admit though, that he did better than you. You’d only gotten a fourth of the way through before you had to give it up.
“Remind me while I followed along with your idea. It was like the blind leading the blind”
“It's because you like (Y/N) ya scrub.” The words came out obnoxiously loud before you could even speak, causing you both to jump in surprise. “Yeah and (Y/N) you like Osamu back,” Both of your eyes widened at the flash from the phone as both your friend and Atsumu stood behind the two of you. They ignored both of your exclaims to shut up as the camera kept going.
The hand on your shoulder stopped your continuing expletives as lips fell on yours. You ignored the hoots and hollers of the rest of your group who had somehow made their way over to annoy the two of you as well. You continued to ignore them as slightly chapped lips moved against yours and hands pulled you so that you were straddling your friend on a kids park fixture.
The tiniest bit of alcohol, the feelings for your friend and the adrenaline that had come from the sudden kiss allowed you to keep ignoring your friends who only began to grossly gag and back away as hands fell on your butt and your tongue slipped into his mouth. When you finally pulled away you noticed the two of you were alone. Your forehead rested against his as the two of you let out heavy breaths. You couldn’t help but let out a breathless laugh, as he joined you.
“Glad you followed me into the dark now?”
“I guess I am”

funfact the beginning of this is inspired by an irl thing that happened to me this past semester. He was cute too and our team actually won the prize and our group was deadass in the library for 13 hours straight and left at 2am to be up by 9am. and he did drive me home LMFAO but nothing came of it and maybe i’ll see him at our prize conference if covid doesnt ruin my life further (he was a senior and graduated smh)

Laserdisc Month Arsenic and Old Lace
This movie is an adaptation of the classic dark comedy play .Now I know this play pretty well cause ,well ,I have actually been in a production of it (Playing Teddy Brewster ,the brother who thinks he is Theodore Roosevelt ) and I think this is a relatively good adaptation . It mainly adds a bunch of jokes and to be fair they are funny jokes .I also like therunning gag about the taxi cab . What does irk me are thebigger changes it tries ,like adding this weird thing that Dr Harper objects to Mortimer marrying Elaine because Mortimer has criticized marriage ,while in the play his objection to Mortimer is simply that he is involved in theater,which I find funnier (In fact the movie demphisizes Mortimer beinga critic ,when that is one of my favorite gags in the play). It also makes things less clear ,like why Mortimer wants Teddy to sign the commitment papers or what Mortimers evil brother Johnathan's villainous scheme is .My biggest complaint adaptation wise is the ending ,as while there are hilarious moments ,it is far muddier then the plays ending ,and due to the hays code lacks the comedically dark note the play ends on .
As amovie on its own how does it hold up though,adaptaion aside? HOnestly it's great .This is a hilarious movie as the play is already really funny ,but add on the comedic sensibilities of Frank Capra youget a rather funny movie .The cast is for the most part reallly great with Josephine Hall and Jean Adair shining as the sweet lovable muderous aunts , John Alexander giving an excelent performance as Teddy ,Raymond Massey being really terrifying as the villinous Johnathan (Yes it wouldve been fantastic to see Karloff who the part was written for ,but Massey is a fine replacement ) and my favorite performance in the movie is Peter Lorre as the surprisingly sympathetic sidekick to Johnathan ,thedrunken Einstein .Weirdly the one cast member I am mixed on is the star Cary Grant ,as he is HILARIOUS ......But he mightbe too over the top .I agree with Grant himself (Who was dissatisfied with his performance in the movie ) who said the role shouldve gone to James Stewart , who I think is a better fit for Mortimer
Overall while not a perfect adaptation of the play.....THis is a damn funny comedy that I highly reccomend
