thank u!! tbh i dont know how useful i can rlly be here cos i think i started off following this or this tutorial (cant remember exactly which or even be sure it was either of those) n then once i had the glowy box template set out i just started fiddling around w it myself so it obv doesnt rlly look like either of those :/

hey there, i stumbled across your travel doodle set buried deep in my likes and i was wondering how you added those little doodles?? i want to make a nice carrd[.]co but hobi themed and if the editing isn't super hard i'd like to give it a go myself! i understand if you don't want to share, don't worry!

I personally don’t think it’s difficult to add in the doodles but it can be time consuming sometimes. I’m doing this from my own perspective when I use photoshop. If you have a different program, I’m not sure how similar it’ll be.

First, I find the picture I wanna use. Crop it and recolor however way I want it to look.

Second, I doodle on multiple layers. I find it easiest for myself to make a “base” layer. I draw out everything or almost everything I want to animate into a gif. I mess with the opacity of the layer and then go from there, using that layer as a guide. I don’t bother with copying that base layer multiple times and just erasing what I don’t need because for me personally, it looks awkward and theres a little charm to the imperfections. I sometimes have 10 layers or sometimes I have over 50. It just depends on how much you want to draw.

Third, I go to timeline and turn my layers into frames. It probably won’t look right at first. I usually have to click on the 2nd frame and select through to the last and add in the picture to all of them. I know this sounds complicated;; I’m just shitty at explaining and making tutorials.

Fourth, I mess with any additional timing for the frames. If you’re used to making gifs, you probably know what I mean and then you save.

Tbh you can probably find better explanations or tutorials under doodle gifs. I don’t remember the video I originally watched though… youtube can be very helpful.
