Hi! I wrote this at like 2am so forgive me if it is lacking. <3

It was peaceful. The light humming of the wind, the soft grass beneath them and the clear azure sky above. Not a single monster in sight, having been cleared out by her beloved adeptus long ago.

She laid her head on his lap, her hair strewn across his thigh. And, archons, she's never laid on something more comfortable. It took a bit for the adeptus to be okay with this type of affection. He was willing to explore the sweetness of intimacy with her, softly confessing once that he liked being close to her to reassure her concerns. She thought that she was somehow making him feel forced to be affectionate. But no, he was simply a soft soul hidden behind a cold exterior.

He was pretty from every angle, she realised. Even with his chin tipped upwards, serenely drinking in the view of the sky. The breeze was soft as it embraced them, but she swore his featherlight caress was lighter. His gloved hand tenderly held the side of her face, his touch so gentle it was as if he were handling glasswork.

She smiled at the warm sight; his body relaxed in her presence.

"Xiao?" She gently calls and his chin tips downwards, honeyed eyes flickering to hers.

He was quiet, waiting for her to continue patiently.

"Do you think I'm pretty?"

He blinks at her question, seemingly caught off guard. After a long pause, he speaks with his voice low.

"...Yes?" He answers as if it were obvious. "You always ask the most absurd questions."

It was adorable. His straight face just barely tilted.

"I think it was a pretty important question, thank you very much." She chuckles, her tone playful.

He gives her the tiniest of smiles in return, the corners of his mouth curving just a little. But she caught it anyway.

It was endearing. Everything about this moment was so endearing. The pleasant sight of his rare smile, the sweet affections and the calmness.

"If the answer is important to you..." He begins, the words that he was trying to conjure felt foreign on his tongue yet so right to say. A whole new language that he wanted to learn. He glanced down at her.

How bewitching.

Of course, he'd learn it to make her smile, to make her happy. Even so, he wanted to say it to her. It just felt right to praise her, to admire her. Even if he was a little nervous inside.

"I have lived a very...long life. Yet, I have never encountered a blossoming beauty greater than yours."

His tone was sincere, his voice delicate like a daisy. His gaze was fulsome with raw adoration as he lightly threaded his gloved fingers through her hair. Knowing that she enjoyed the feeling.

"It astonishes me how a tainted being like I was capable of becoming the subject of your affection."

Not a major analysis (because I think i’ve said enough for today)

But I really like the theme of Clay being incredibly protective of his teammates, no matter the cost, and no matter what state he is actually in.

As of s4 we know he can’t do anything about the danger he’s putting his teammates into because of the magic Ruina used on him, (which is apparently called malice channeling,. however idk how accurate the wiki is so take this with a grain of salt)

Even with this magic on him , it was as if he attempted to put the safety of his team first, which explains why he left so quickly once he heard about their concerns about how dangerous he was, we know he’s incredibly protective of the other knights because they’re the closest thing he will ever actually get to an actual family, or people he can call family.

and so when he feels as if he’s endangering them, it kinda feels as if he’s going against everything he became a knight for, which was to protect others. Which explains the immediate decision to re petrify himself once he learned how too.

hm... I think I'd have to say Hawkeye? I dont tend to see a lot of it, granted, I stopped diving into the tags a while ago for the sake of my own sanity, but there's definitely a lot of stuff going on with how the fandom treats Hawkeye. looking directly away from his TVTropes page lol that's an entire can of worms and a half there

I think he gets it real bad for people projecting worse traumas onto him to make him more tragic

19: part of canon you found tedious or boring

those weird episodes that decide for whatever reason they need to teach Hawkeye a lesson on something he's not in the wrong about. Fallen Idol comes to mind for that one- Hawkeye wasn't wrong to go off on Radar the way he did, he was 100% justified even if he wasn't like. perfectly nice about it

I just feel like Hawkeye will often get portrayed as being in the wrong when he just. isnt. the end of Preventative Medicine falls into this as well- I actually love that BJ doesnt do the operation with him, but I hate that the episode tries to frame Hawkeye as being wrong. he's not. plain and simple

My father was martyred by Israel on 10 October 2023 after sacrificing his care in hospital so the injured children could take priority. Today would have been his 60th birthday. He was always selfless, kind, and giving for others. My father gave up everything for me to be able to have a better life, because that is what he always dreamed for me and my sister. The world suffered a great loss when he died, and my heart is always with him and every Palestinian who has lost someone.

In his honour and memory, I would love for anyone who is able to do so to consider donating to The Palestine Children’s Relief Fund.

The PCRF is an amazing organisation that does so much for those in Gaza right now, including helping provide food, water and medicine. You can donate any amount you are able to- there is no minimum! My father would have given his very last cent if he saw the way Palestine was continuing to suffer after over 100 days with this limited aid, so I know celebrating him by helping others is the least he would have wanted.

I saw @parrot-parent do a very successful donation match and I thought it was such a good idea so I will also match all donations up to $500! If you feel comfortable sending me proof of the amount of your donation, I will match it as a donation at the end of February. (My messages are set to mutuals only, but if you donate and we aren’t mutuals if you send an ask with the proof I will make sure to answer it privately.)
