I love (sarcasm) that the two options for working when disabled are:

1. Work at the risk of (permanently) disabling yourself further. Go home to a paycheck that won't cover much, but at least you have money. Fight the urge to cry when you're home because you're in so much pain and you can't do basic things anymore

2. Don't work. You'll be in just as much pain, plus you will have even less money. Getting a disability check probably won't cover anything, but chin up! A single dollar is better than no dollar, right?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Nobody should be forced to make the decision to work or starve, but there's an added layer of torture when your body literally cannot handle these options. My heart goes out to us all, the world can change for the better

I watched season 3 and rewatched season 1 and 2 of the umbrella academy and what I can gather is:

Five (season 1): Denial, anger

Five (season 2): Bargaining

Five (season 3): Depression, acceptance

#usually he's a colourful fruit salad of denial anger bargaining depression and more anger though #season 3 five just makes me especially sad though #like he was done #he could retire #have a nice road trip #figure himself out as a person for once #breathe a little #but nope #and he still explores all options until he finally gives up #cause he would rather die with his family all together rather than a sad lonely old man in a tube #or at the mercy of whatever reginald had in store for them #but even at the very end he still can't shake the instinct to protect his family #and beats allison to the last sigil in the floor and figures out the sigil in the first place #also jesus what was season 3 I feel like I had a fever dream lol #the umbrella academy #five hargreeves #tua #im not saying he passed through these stages instead they just layered on top of each other like a sad gooey cake

feeling resurrected as fuck rn! tumblr deleted my account yesterday bc i did a very good impression of spam by accident but i'm back already babyyyyyy (not to brag but it took Jesus THREE days)

some things I learned from my own stupidity and while searching the internet in a panic yesterday:

tumblr accounts get terminated by accident somewhat often bc they're trying so hard to keep the bots out

changing your account email and then having multiple failed login attempts is sus to the anti-spam controls (duh, but this is what I did hahaha)

a lot of people on r/TumblrAcctTerminated (lol had no idea this was a subreddit) got mistakenly terminated while using a VPN so look out for that too

if your account gets terminated by accident (ie not for TOS violations) and you haven't heard back from your tumblr support request in a day or two, you can also tweet @Tumblrsupport on xitter with your URL to ask for help (the subreddit said sometimes support gets very backlogged but they got back to me the next business day so i think they're cruising rn)

back shit up if you spent time on it! maybe i am the only one being this silly, but i typed my long meta posts almost entirely on tumblr w no backups and the thought that I had permanently lost them was painful (apparently xkit also lets you mirror posts to archive.today or the wayback machine but that feels a little intense for the quality of posts i make haha)

any evie and keira birthday headcannons from yesterday?

keira got the best birthday present early - filing the adoption and change of name papers for evie just before the wembley match but evie didn't know she and lucy did that

on her actual birthday, it's tradition to have pancakes. evie is friends with everyone, including the chefs so she persuaded them to let her cook pancakes for the whole team for breakfast on keira's birthday. obviously, she didn't make all the pancakes herself just she made a lot of them. they also needed a cake and the chefs helped her make that again while everyone else was in training that morning

she wakes keira up after letting her have a line in with a cup of tea that she made her (in a flask because the chefs didn't trust her not to spill it) and gave her the homemade card that she'd had lotte's help making

her present was a new photo frame that she decorated to replace the one she made years ago that said Kei on it instead of Mama. she only brought one to camp but she also has four others decorated in different ways at home. the one she brought to camp has her favourite photo of the two of them in and she even wrapped it herself. then there was obviously birthday cuddles before evie got too impatient and dragged her mama downstairs so she could make her and everyone else pancakes

one of the cashiers at the grocery store i go to is so fucking fixated on shoplifters and it drives me crazy any time i check out through him (i try to avoid him but his checkout is often the most open/empty - hm! i wonder why! - and im often on a tight schedule w the bus). he brings up shoplifters every opportunity he gets and he seems so convinced that theyre a huge problem.

BUT WHAT REALLY GETS ME ,,, is that today the customer in front of me was needing a price check on one of the items bc it should've come out to be cheaper, so he was kind of apologetic abt it and saying "ah well, yknow, six dollars is six dollars, especially with how expensive groceries are right now" and i was nodding and agreeing (trying to show that i dont mind the wait and also solidarity my guy good for u for speaking up and getting the price fixed on that) AND THE CASHIER AGREES. FULLY ACKNOWLEDGES AND BEMOANS THE FACT THAT GROCERIES ARE CRAZY RN. AND THEN GOES ON TO COMPLAIN ABOUT SHOPLIFTERS. HUH ??????

#scc log #i think that swt is the only one capable of driving (the modified turntable booth) and the only one with a proper license at this point #in time. and by all means it can and does drive well but its best sonar capabilities are when they are touching the ground #the next best option is cakes who can drive a Mean Gear but their license got expired before they could remember to renew it #I also think it would be a Little funny to have the driving mechanic involve some sort of point-click rhythm nonsense. for sweet.#(just a little.)
