hypno’s cabin headcanon

cabin’s song: you’re on your own kid - taylor swift

in greek mythology says that hypnos had a lot of children, however i don’t believe he would get involved with mortals very often

cabin 15 doesn’t have too many people, so they decided to have bigger beds and more hangouts spots in their cabin to make it more comfortable

they spend a lot of time indoors and some times their friends from other cabins have to drag them out of their rooms

and of course they are not always sleeping!like, they know that being a demigod can be dangerous and training will help them survive outside the camp

but it doesn’t mean that they enjoy training; they get tired really quick

a lot of people underestimate children of hypnos during battles

but like, they literally have power over your mind and imagination (also can make you sleep with their touch)

they know they’re powerful and just chose not to show off their skills because: their opponents won’t expect them to be so strong, and they’re too lazy to care about what the others think about them

they get along with every kind of person and could have a lot of friends if they wanted to, however, they always prefer to have only a few friends that they trust the most

usually friends with cabin 4, 20 and, surprisingly, with cabin 12

they are the cutest friends ever

hypnos children are very loyal to the ones they love, and will always help when they need

they’re good siblings, all of them are really close to each other

they gave up passing the daily cabin inspections a long time ago, and it came to a point where they don’t even get those visits any more

some of them suffer from insomnia, but luckily their siblings are always there to help

all of them are addicted to caffeine

almost everyone in cabin 15 have a stuffed toy they had since a really young age and treat it like they’re alive

can be really funny sometimes (usually make jokes that no one understand too)

they absolutely love trying to find meanings to other people’s dreams

but also have the weirdest dreams in the whole camp and never manage to understand their own subconscious

sometimes they can be selfish

because they don’t worry about things they can do ten minutes later

or even pretend they have nothing to do

children of hypnos can be acting like a child in one second and then just be all grumpy and lazy

they have one of the best tastes for music in the whole camp

Cabin 1 (Zues) - I feel like they would accidentally shock the person every time they are trying to hug or touch someone

Cabin 2 (Hera) I feel like they would say “he loves me he loves me not” whilst picking rose petals

Cabin 3 (Poseidon) I feel like they would sweat rapidly when they talked to anyone new

cabin 15//hypnos children headcanons!!

a/n: the hcs will be edited and updated as i come up with more of them

most demigod kids get claimed after an important event—like percy when he won the capture-the-flag game—others get claimed in fancy ways, usually the symbol of their godly parent appearing above their heads—like leo and piper when they first came to camp.

not hypnos kids, no.

they get claimed in their dreams, or at night—when most campers are already asleep so there's no one to witness it.

like some—in rare occurrences—Hephaestus kids are fire resistant, or how some Aphrodite kids have charmspeak, there were times where a children of hypnos with wings came to camp*(will talk in detail later). others were equally amazing, and a bit intimidating. they could put people in comas or wake them from one.

a lot of hypnos kids suffer from insomnia, narcolepsy and some have had/have sleep paralysis demons. tho it's very uncommon for them to get nightmares, since they have dream manipulation.

when a camper has so many nightmares that they can't even sleep properly, their first option is always the hypnos cabin.

in ‘the lost hero’ it says that the cabin smells like fresh laundry and soft violin music always plays in the background so they atmosphere of the cabin is always relaxing and it manages to lull you to sleep if you aren't careful

also the beds are always comfy for everyone sleeping, the sheets are hot/cold depending on the weather and the kid’s preferences, but they're always soft like you're hugging clouds.

there are many flower pots with poppies insides and they always smell fresh no matter how long they've probably been there.

i bet lots of them know how to do those calming massages that relieve tense muscles

the hypnos kids are fun to be around when they aren't sleeping or sleepwalking (i hc that clovis sleepwalks and one time he had a face full of mud after he tripped on a root at the strawberry fields)

ahem, anyway

most prefer to hang out in their dreams. you basically get to do everything you can do in real life without worrying about injuries or money.

i think most of them would have blond/light brown hair with gray or blue (maybe green?) eyes. they're pretty average in height. most aren't that athletic and are more artistic (they're besties with the apollo kids they told me themselves actually)

they have an unspoken solidarity with the hades/nyx/hecate/thanatos kids. being kids of the underworld gods was bound to get you some nasty and fearful stares from others, so they always made sure to have each other's backs.

thanatos kids are literally their cousins (from their godly parents’ side) so they feel particularly close to them. they think of them as honorary members of the cabin and they're always welcome and vice versa.

like i was saying, they prefer to hang out with their friends in their dreams, but they also like to take walks along the lake or be with the apollo kids at the arts and crafts

it's also not uncommon to find at least one hypnos kid at the peagasus stables

they're very sweet and loyal to their friends. they're also very willing to help, when they aren't napping inside a canoe

being a child of a minor god doesn't attract a lot of monsters and being a child of an underworld god, most monsters from the underworld know best than to underestimate kids of hypnos.

they don't need to fight a lot, but they're pretty good at it. a lot of them are fast learns and they also have time to practice in their dreams if they want too.

hypnos kids either have freckles or moles

they like chocolate on everything. not even a specific type of chocolate, white chocolate, milk, dark chocolate, lactose free chocolate, chocolate milk etc.

they're great friends with nyx and thanatos kids. and some apollo kids too. they also get along with nico and hazel

*now i mentioned that some hypnos kids have wings like their father does.

i think they'd be a very soft/faint colour with a gradient. like a baby(or pastel) blue that fades into light gray. others have had darker coloured wings; dark purple that slowly fades into lilac, or dark blue that fades to the colour of the morning sky.

winged kids of hypnos always had a strange fascination with birds (many thought that they were aphrodite kids 'cause they liked doves and other birds)

they also had a strange obsession with gathering bird feathers and they always got scolded to not pick them put with their bare hands cuz it's unsanitary

some of these kids liked feather pens too for the same reason.

their least favourite food was chicken because they pitied the poor bird :(

edit(09/02/2024): every hypnos kid has this calming aura around them that makes others to zone out and sometimes fall asleep. they don't do it on purpose, it's a weird thing they naturally do.

underworld kids are usually closer to their parents, since they don't have as many responsibilities as the 12 olympian gods(tho they still do important jobs)

it isn't uncommon for a hypnos kid to be visited by their dad in their dreams.

sometimes that happens when they haven't arrived at camp yet. it's a way for Hypnos to watch over his kids and see how they are. many hypnos kids have had dreams were an odd figure with wings follows them around.

it's unsettling but since dreams are also their domain they felt calm (for the most part).

since hypnos is nyx's son, children of hypnos get small blessings from nyx. they're very close to her, and she loves all her grandchildren like her own kids.

some of the blessings include seeing in the dark (hence why most hypnos kids having light coloured eyes).

lots of hypnos kids listen to (mostly) calming music (ex classical, instrumental music).

there is a small cabin somewhere in the back that always has warm milk to help them sleep if they need to.

they get very clingy and grumpy when tired.

children of apollo: whiskey-coloured eyes, chrysanthemum tea, badges/pins EVERYWHERE, dandelion fields, sandcastles, colourful bracelets, knowledge of music theory, perfect pitch, fireflies, band-aids with smiley faces, tie-dye shirts

children of artemis: metallic clothing, ripped jeans, dagger strapped to inside of thigh, gazing at the constellations, lumberjack plaid shirts, running barefoot underneath the moon, long braided hair (eg. katniss everdeen), sharp eyeliner and even sharper gazes, white platinum/silver jewellery, temporary tattoos, cd collection

But sometimes it’s waking up PISSED OFF for NO REASON and not being able to remember your dream… and realizing that Ares must have been visiting your father and you got the brunt end of his weird War energy.

headcanons abt how each cabin behaves at dinner time in the dining pavilion (bc I think each one has its own table) would be an amazing concept! love ur blog

dinner time

an average dinner at camp half-blood

⚡️⋆.ೃ࿔* zeus cabin

are usually the last cabin to get to the dining pavilion so they can make a dramatic entrance

would eventually get mad at cabin 5 for making fun of them for being too extravagant and start an argument with half of the cabins who tried to calm them down.

🦚⋆.ೃ࿔* hera cabin

cabin 2’s table was originally placed next to cabin 1’s one but mr. d moved it to the opposite side of the pavilion to avoid conflicts between these two cabins during dinner.

they’d spend most of the time chatting with cabin 10 and the rest of their dinner would be basically them complaining about the food.

🌊⋆.ೃ࿔* poseidon cabin

they don’t catch so much attention when arriving at the dining pavilion. most of the time they’re too tired to even talk between themselves during dinner because of their training sessions.

just give them 30 seconds to be full of energy again and teaming up with cabin 11 to throw water at mr. d.

💐⋆.ೃ࿔* demeter cabin

they are always the first ones to get there. demeter’s kids like to take flowers to decor the tables and sometimes a few of them bake/cook something to share with their friends.

they are really polite and calm, just trying to eat their dinner in peace and go back to what they were doing.

⚔️⋆.ೃ࿔* ares cabin

they’re usually really loud, especially if they had just won capture the flag, and would make sure to bump into cabin 6’s table and tease them for losing.

i think they’d have childish eating habits, like not liking vegetables and salad. they are the most likely to start a food war at some point too.

🦉⋆.ೃ࿔* athena cabin

the quiet ones who just wants to eat and go back to what they were doing before. is really common for them to take books and notebooks to the dinning pavilion because they “can’t lose time”

chiron don’t let them study in the dinning pavilion anymore because they’d stop eating when their food gets cold because of them getting distracted by their books

🌞⋆.ೃ࿔* apollo cabin

they usually arrive together with another cabin, mostly cabin 11 and 18, laughing and singing.

don’t really care about the rule of not seating in another’s cabin table, and they’d go around all the tables so they can eat with all their friends.

🌙⋆.ೃ࿔* hunters of artemis

when the hunters are in camp half-blood, they are the first ones to arrive and the first ones to leave, rare exceptions.

don’t usually interact with other cabins, and just talk between themselves.

🛠️⋆.ೃ࿔* hephaestus cabin

cabin 9 only go to the dining pavilion to get food to spend the night working and occasionally talk to some of their friends too.

they eat a lot though, and sometimes don’t manage to sneak out of the pavilion without getting caught when they are trying to take some food to their cabin

💘⋆.ೃ࿔* aphrodite cabin

some of them are usually late because they spend too much time getting ready for dinner, but others like talking to cabin 4 while they decor the tables.

they pretend to eat only healthy food but are addicted to desserts and won’t leave without eating something sweet.

📨⋆.ೃ࿔* hermes cabin

the other demigods always try to get to the dining pavilion before cabin 11 because they know that hermes’s children like playing pranks on who is late to dinner.

they also eat a lot because they need a lot of energy to keep up with their training schedule

🍷⋆.ೃ࿔* dionysus cabin

mr d. go to their cabin to check if they getting ready to dinner and then waits until all of his kids arrive to the dining pavilion to start eating.

always try to order wine from that magic cups but they never manage to do it. they get scolded by chiron really often because of that but at some point mr d. transformed him into a frog so he’d stop bothering his kids

☠️⋆.ೃ࿔* hades cabin

i feel like they don’t often have dinner with the others, but sometimes will eat in the dinning pavilion just so everyone knows they’re still there.

when they are not feeling like going to the dinning pavilion, their friends would bring some food for them in cabin 13 and they’d probably have a sleepover after that.

🌈⋆.ೃ࿔* iris cabin

they’re pretty quiet, just go there to say hello to everybody, eat and get some snacks to spend the night or to share with some friends later.

they like playing with the colors of the foods, like changing the food’s color or making it shine.

💤⋆.ೃ࿔* hypnos cabin

they might be a bit lazy but are never going to deny food. when arriving at the dinning pavilion they’d go straight to their friends table to talk a little before the food is served.

they’d never eat their whole meal because they would get tired of chewing at some point.

⚖️⋆.ೃ࿔* nemesis cabin

they have an habit of being the last ones to start eating because they think it’s unfair to have a meal while others are hungry.

would get so mad at people wasting food, or starting silly arguments (cabin 1 x cabin 5)

🏆⋆.ೃ࿔* nike cabin

they’d be either too tired while eating because of the training or would create dumb competitions

they have weird eating habits. i don’t really know how to explain but they eat weird food.

🧸⋆.ೃ࿔* hebe cabin

they are often scolded by cabin 16 for playing with their food or for speaking too loudly.

they’re just want the dessert, nothing else. (chiron won’t let them eat only sweet though)

🍀⋆.ೃ࿔* tyche cabin

never had to face situations like ordering something they don’t like or their food getting cold, because of their luck.

cabin 11 still tries to throw a pie on their faces but it just never works.

🔮⋆.ೃ࿔* hecate cabin

they put potions on the other cabins food sometimes, just to see the effect it’d have in people.

they take some food to the satyrs who live in the woods in exchange for magic ingredients for their studies.
