Progress on Asheleth fic that has been in the works for... Far too long
I have been writing it very inconsistently and out of order for like a year. I want at least the first three chapters complete before I post it on AO3 because it's definitely going to take awhile to piece it together. BUT, here is a list of things to look forward to:
Dorky Ashe crushing on Byleth in the academy phase.
When the war hits, there's a touching reunion scene between Ashe and his siblings when he makes it back to Gaspard.
Ashe has secretly written letters (some are love letters) that he never intended on giving to her over the course of five years. Mostly just because he had nobody to talk to about everything he was going through and wanted to pretend she was listening to him.
What initially makes them bond over the timeskip is insomnia and nightmares (seeing their fathers die). But eventually things get a lot lighter and they spend a lot of time fishing amd gardening and cooking together and it's very adorable.
They are each other's first kiss and Ashe confesses he's had feelings for her for years.
Lots of sneaking around! Because they're at war and dating your commander/your solider isn't the best look.
Making out in the library and the greenhouse.
Ashe having to take Sylvain out for drinks to awkwardly ask for sex advice.
Byleth amusingly asking to borrow Manuela's erotic romance novels so she can figure out what she's supposed to do.
Awkward yet romantic first time for both of them.
Dedue figuring out their relationship because, you know, his room is literally right in between theirs so he hears everything. But after this, he becomes somewhat of a confidant for Ashe.
Yuri, being Yuri, notices that Byleth is acting really suspicious and sneaking around so he has spies tail her and gets her to admit her relationship. Much like Dedue becomes a needed support system for Ashe, Yuri becomes this for Byleth.
Sauna sex scene. Because it sounded fun to write.
I can't say much more because it'll spoil what I'm planning but I do have the ending in mind. And I think it's a good story.
Also note that while there will be light smut, the chapters are isolated and *usually* not plot relevant (with one exception but I'm trying to work something out with that), so if you don't want to read that, you can easily skip it. I didn't want the focus to be on sex because above all, I'm intending this mostly as a love story. I just want to also broaden my horizons as a writer so... There will be a few of those scenes.

Can I request Dimitri, Dedue and Ashe having a nightmare about byleth being taken away by the spell of Zaharius (the Solon thing where she then merges with sothis) and when they wake up she isn't in bed so they panic and try to find her (she's at the training grounds or was reading at the desk) plz momo this was one of my faves I literally had a BL girls version I was writing myself cause I liked it so much lol
(Of course I can...!!! <3 )
Ashe: He shot up in a cold sweat with a heavy gasp. His limbs trembled before he realized what happened.
It was just a nightmare.
Watching you disappear into the void Solon summoned, only for you to never return…that wasn’t real. The reality was that you broke back through, and you were home.
Five years had passed in Ashe’s life where he relived that nightmare over and over, only to wake up and realize you were dead. At least, they thought you were. Now you were there, sleeping soundly beside him, and you were real. You hadn’t been taken from him.
“Goddess…” Ashe’s whisper was as shaky as his hands that pushed through his hair. He sat up in bed, elbows on his knees. He bent forward, trying to steady his breathing so as not to disturb you.
Your heartbeat was nowhere to be found, but your chest rising and falling beside him was something of a comfort.
He stared at you through the moonlit darkness, resting a hand on your shoulder as gently as possible. The slightest touch tended to wake you, after all.
Warm.
Steady.
Still there.
He nodded quietly to himself, allowing a little relief to ease his agitation.
“...Ashe?”
“Ah.” He glanced over when your hand covered his. You pulled him from your shoulder, kissing his fingertips.
“You’re trembling…” The quiet observation flushed his cheeks. You pushed yourself up, facing him with a calculating stare and an even gaze. “Another nightmare?”
“Yeah. Sorry. I didn’t mean to wake you.” He managed, not thrilled that his voice was equally as shaky as his hands. “I just needed to…uh…I needed to feel you.”
“Hm.” You looked at his hand again, having a pretty firm guess as to what the nightmare was about.
Instead of talking about it, which you knew he would be unable to recount, you slipped back down into the blankets. You pulled him down with you, and gently pushed his head to your chest.
“I’m here.” You murmured into his hair, kissing his forehead. “I’m still with you.”
His vision blurred, quiet tears slipping down his cheeks.
“Yes...” His hands curled into your shirt, pulling you into him. “You are.”
“I always will be.”
-------------------------
Dedue: The knight was used to late night patrols when he could not sleep. It had become a steady pattern for him after the monastery fell, before he was captured, and after he reunited with his lord, King Dimitri.
It was a healthy habit, and one that would not change even as he shifted his allegiance to his now wife, the Archbishop of Fodlan.
However, tonight was slightly different.
He wasn’t patrolling so much as he was anxiously striding across the church grounds in search of his missing spouse.
The strides were efficient, but the anxiety was clouding his rationale. If it weren’t for that damned memory being twisted into a horrific nightmare…he wouldn’t have such a thundering feeling in his chest. It was upsetting, but not so much as thinking his wife wasn’t really there.
When he jolted awake from the terrible dream, he found you were missing from his side. The bed was cold; you’d been gone a while.
He paced in the room for a few minutes, hoping to calm himself down. You likely stepped out for a glass of water, or perhaps you were in the washroom.
Only, not the washroom attached to your quarters.
Hm.
He opted to rush about the monastery, instead, checking the usual places you would be throughout the day. It was not the first time you had left him in bed at an odd hour, but it was the first time it happened after that damn memory.
The thought of you not being there, even if it was peaceful…it unsettled him deeply.
The dining hall and kitchen was empty, as were the training grounds. You weren’t in the stables, you weren’t in the chapel- hells, you weren’t doing some odd midnight fishing, either. Where had his wife gone?
The panic in the back of his head told him it was long past time to alert the guards that you were missing.
What if the dastards who tried to seal you away before had come back? What if Solon had somehow returned and had kidnapped you, and he had missed it all ebcause he was too wrapped up in his own twisted thoughts to wake up and notice?
Dedue didn’t realize he wasn’t breathing unti lhe heard the footsteps behind him, followed by a curious noise.
“Love?”
He stiffened, a soft gasp filling his lungs. Dedue turned to find you standing behind him, with a pile of flowers in your arms.
“What are you doing out here, so late at night?”
“I…” He took a deep breath, and straightened his shoulders to try and recover some of his decorum. “I was looking for you.”
“Why?”
“I woke up and you were not in bed. You were…out here, for some reason. Are you all right?”
“Oh, I’m fine. I came out here because I was worried about you.”
Now he was intrigued. “Why were you worried about me? I was sleeping beside you.”
“You seemed to be having a bad dream. You kept groaning and tossing.” You explained, shifting the flowers in your arms with hesitance.
“It seems I woke you up with my dreaming…I’m sorry, Byleth. I was just reliving a bad memory. From back then.”
“Don’t apologize to me. It’s not like you can help it.” You smiled gently, “I was going to prepare you some lavender chamomile tea, for when you woke. I thought it would help soothe your nerves. But when I went to brew it, we didn’t have any lavender in the kitchen, so I went to the greenhouse to gather some. I hope you don’t mind.”
“You were going to do that for me?”
You moved from foot to foot, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear.
“I was…I worried I might make you uncomfortable by doing so, but…I figured, you’re my husband, so I should probably take care of you. Unless you don’t want me to.”
You weren’t able to explain any further before broad arms wrapped around you, pulling you into his chest. You smelled of lavender, Dedue observed, squeezing you tight.
“Dedue?”
“I could never be more grateful to the goddess for bringing you to me.” He whispered fiercely, burying his face in your hair. He held you for a long while, bathed in moonlight in the middle of a silent courtyard.
It was a precious memory you swore never to forget.
“I love you, Byleth.”
“I love you, too.” You giggled shyly, resting your head on his chest with a contented sigh.
Your ability to turn a terrible night into a wonderful one was something he would need in the coming years, but you were more than willing to help him with it.
Though, Dedue would attempt to politely suggest, next time he ough to help you brew the tea. It seemed five years of absence left your tea making a bit to be desired.
He was very lucky he was the most handsome creature you’d ever met…otherwise, you warned, you’d be making him brew his own sleeping tea, caring wife or not.
-------------------------
Dimitri: The night terror struck long after you had left the bedroom. You were in your office, playing catch-up since you couldn’t sleep.
Thankfully the maids knew where you were.
A flurry of rushed footsteps and panicked whispers struck your ears long before they actually made it to your door, but the pale faces told you everything you needed to know.
It was happening, again.
“My Queen! It’s-”
“How long has it been?”
“O-only a few minutes. They’ve subdued him now, but…”
You nodded solemnly, exiting the office with urgency in every step. It did not take long before you could hear the crashing and shouting.
Dimitri was having another night terror, and you weren’t there to comfort him when he needed you.
It’d been so long since the last one, especially one where you weren’t immediately by his side to calm him before his panic became unmanageable.
Or rather, unmanageable by anyone other than yourself.
There were seven guards on him, with more racing to aid them as he tried to break free. Dimitri was delirious with panic, lancing your heart with worry.
“Where is she?!” He bellowed, throwing off one of them, “Solon!!”
That damn memory. You cursed to yourself, closing the rest of the distance and ordering the men to back away.
“Where is Byleth?!”
“I’m here.” You grasped his wrists, forcing his hands back. You did not have to fight him; his sheer strength could overwhelm you in a second.
So long as you were directly in front of him, though…you could easily capture his focus.
“I’m right here, Dimitri.”
A confused noise left him, in place of the grunts and cries of anguish. It was a good sign. His eye was bleary, still not fully awake, but if he could look at you then it would be over.
His expression shifted some, his struggle slowly coming to a halt. He stared down at you, blinking rapidly. Finally, his gaze leveled, unflinching, staring directly at you.
“By…Byleth… Beloved?”
“It’s me.” You nodded, releasing his wrists tentatively. You held his face in your hands, offering a small smile. “It was just a bad dream.”
Dimitri’s arms closed around you, pulling you flush into hsi chest with nearly no mercy. His face was pressed into your neck, hiding the cold tear that stained your skin. You motioned the soldiers to back away.
Crisis was averted.
“I’m so sorry, my love. I went to do some work because I couldn’t sleep. If I knew you’d be plagued by nightmares tonight, I never would have left.”
“That damned…Solon…” He breathed shakily, his voice little more than a trembling rasp. “That memory….it gets more twisted every time it comes…”
You nodded, stroking his hair quietly.
“We will consult with Mercedes about it in the morning. I won’t let you suffer through this any longer…at the very least, without me there.”
Your promise was sealed with a kiss, gingerly drawing his face to yours. He returned it with fervor, hands tightening on your waist. If there was some way to pull you closer to him, he would find it.
When he was finally able to separate himself from you, he was flushed, and the tear tracks remained on his skin. But at the very least, he seemed to regain himself.
“I’m…sorry, Beloved.”
“You have nothing to apologize for.” You stroked his cheek, “You’ve been through more than any one man should have to go through. Of course you are still healing.”
“I wish I did not cause you such trouble.” He whispered, leaning into your palm. You shook your head.
“It is no trouble. I know you would do the same for me.”
“Without hesitation.”
Quietly, then,you returned arm in arm to your quarters. Dimitri was shaky returning to the bed. At least, until you slipped in beside him, and opened your arms to receive him.
The king was only a man, then, seeking comfort in the arms of his precious wife.
You remained awake that night, determined to see through his nightmare and keep him soothed and resting. You stroked his hair tenderly, humming soft, aimless songs while his breathing deepened.
He would not be plagued by another nightmare, that night.

Can I request headcanons for Hubert Felix Ashe and Ignatz being shy around female Byleth separately?
All of this is pre time skip (as I don't write for post time skip Hubert)! I'm writing this as some sort of a puppy-crush thing and it's one-sided!
Hubert, Ignatz, Felix and Ashe feeling shy around Byleth
Byleth here is female
Hubert von Vestra
He's completely charmed by her face expressions. Her lack of reaction is cute... But getting her off guard is even better.
He's not the kind to be lost for words, he just tries his best to unsettle her in order to make her leave him alone so he can calm down a little.
But if it fails he always has plenty of reasons to leave. And he's not hesitant to use his excuses to avoid the professor.
Once she sees him, then she doesn't. He's in control of when they meet and he makes sure to always be ready just in case.
Ignatz Victor
Her grace is the attribute that makes him ever so less confident around her. Even though he was already intimidated to begin with.
The way she moved, talked, hell even yawned all was like looking at a goddess! Even her imperfections were perfect.
So he didn't really talk to her when she wasn't the one to approach him. He preferred to admire her from the distance.
You can probably imagine but he'd be totally lying if he said he never sketched her during a lecture. He never made it into a painting... But looking at Byleth sure inspired him as to how a goddess he imagines looks like.
Felix Hugo Fraldarius
Her strength is the key factor of him missing his words. Earning respect from your dream opponent is something he definitely wants to achieve.
He insults her like it's nothing, he's straightforward- but sometimes he himself doesn't know what he's thinking.
Asking for advice was a big no to him. He only wanted to adjust his mistakes by practice.
So having her fix his posture, or anything really made him lose his focus for so many reasons... That of which he wasn't aware of.
Ashe Ubert
Her being so helpful is perhaps one of the things he admires the most. She's so thoughtful and always makes time for everyone.
To himself he translates this feeling as total admiration and a reason why he'd like to be just like her.
So while being at a receiving end of her gestures is amazing... He often finds himself unable to think of a way to react to her kindness.
He always tries to be available to her too... But it's rare for her to reach out... Sometimes it motivates him to check up on her by himself! There's nothing wrong with looking excuses to being around her, right?

Mini Fanfic #1035: Taking the Challenge Head On (Fire Emblem Three Houses)
10:45 a.m. at the Blue Lion's Dining Halls......
Ashe: You want me to take part in the.....(Raises an Eyebrow in Confusion) "No Nut November Challenge"?
Sylvain: (Smiles Brightly) Yep! It's one of the few challenges to test your endurance, patience, vulnerability, and worth of being a true man.
Ashe: Ah I see. (Frowns a Bit in Uncertainty) But....do you really think I have what it takes to complete the challenge?
Sylvain: (Happily Nodded) Definitely. You're practically one of the most devoted and hard working guys I've ever known, besides yours truly of course.
Ashe: (Smiles Brightly) Why, thank you Sylvain. I know I don't say this as much, but I really wouldn't be where I am today if it weren't for yours and everyone else's support and guidelines.
Sylvain: And we couldn't be anymore prouder of you, bud. (Wraps his Arm Around Ashe's Shoulder) Now listen, the challenge itself is gonna be a long road ahead and you'll might have a 80% chance of going crazy along the way, but I'm sure you'll have no problems making it through as long as you keep your urges in check and have a clear, neutral mindset. Just like our friendly neighborhood giant, Dedue-
?????: I failed.
Sylvain eyes starts to widens as he slowly turns his head towards to Deude sitting next to Ashe, drinking a cup of tea in a casual like Manner.
Sylvain: .............I'm sorry, you what?
Dedue: The challenge. I've already failed it-
Sylvain: Yeah, you already told me the first time. What I wanna know is how in the hell were you failed so easily? You're a Dedue Molinaro! The right hand man of King Dimitri himself! I figured if anyone in our unit would have a chance of completing the challenge, it would be you, what happened?
Dedue: (Shrugs) The temptations had gotten the better of me last night. (Starts Blushing a Little) I suppose that's.... the price I have to pay for being in love.....
Mercedes: (Happily Makes Her Way to the Boys' Table) Why, hello there, boys!~ I hope we're all having a wonderful morning today. (Uses her Two Fingers to Rub Under Dedue's Chin With a Bit of a Flirtatious Smirk on her Face) Especially you, my sweet gentle giant~
Dedue: (Chuckles Lightly By the Chin Rubs) I'm having a fine enough morning for the most part. As well as a nice and memorable last night, many thanks to you, of course, m'lady. (Gently Brings her Hand Down Before Kissing the Top of It)
Mercedes: (Giggles Softly and a Bit Ticklishly by the Kiss) Oho you!~ There's no need to thank me for that. (Lovingly Hugs her Lover) If anything, I should be thanking you for keeping me company all night~
Dedue: No thanks is needed. I'll always be there for you.
Mercedes: As will I, my dear~
The couple begins to romantically rub on each other's noses while the boys watches.
Ashe: Awwww~ (Suddenly Felt a Hand Covering his Eyes Before Turning to the Culprit) Sylvain!
Sylvain: This is part of the challenge, Ashe. Don't let it blind you.
Mercedes: (Giggles Some More) Alright. I believe it's time for me to get started on breakfast before I embarrass the boys some more. (Kiss Dedue on the Lips Before Placing her Forehead onto His) Try not to miss me too much, you hear?~
Dedue: I'm sure I'll manage to pull through for the time being. Try not to get yourself hurt while you're in the kitchen cooking, okay?
Mercedes: I'll be extra cautious. Promise. (Gives One Last Kiss on the Forehead Before Walking Away to the Kitchen and Waving Goodbye at the Trio) Wish me luck!~
Dedue: (Wave Back at his Lady) Well do. ('Sigh') One of these days, I will marry that woman.
Sylvain: Well, ain't that sweet. Still doesn't change the fact that you disappoint me. (Went Back to Grinning) But no worries though. Cause the next person I have to set an example is none other than my main man, Feli-
Felix: (Takes his Seat on the Trio's Table) I failed the challenge.
Sylvain: (Immediately Gives his Childhood Friend a Deadpinned Look) Seriously?
Felix: Yes, seriously. Last night, in her tent, Annette wanted to try and take the next skip I'm our relationship. So we....(Starts Blushing a Little) did it. And it was nice.
Felix turns to see Annette making her way to the kitchen door in the distance. As she opens it, she sees her boyfriend staring at her before shyly waving at him with a smile on her face and walk inside.
Felix: (Slowly Waves at the Closing Door Before Sighing) Anyways....(Turns Back to Sylvain) Mind telling me why you're bringing up that dumb challenge for in the middle of the morning?
Dedue: He wants Ashe to take part of it for the first time.
Felix: (Groans While Pinching his Nose) ('Ugh') Are you kidding me? Ashe is way too soft and naive to be taking that challenge, let alone know what it really is! (Turns to Ashe) No offense.
Ashe: (Smiles Sheepishly) None taken, I guess......
Sylvain: Hey, I just figured Ashe is now in an age where he could test his might as a man. But now that you and Mr. Gentle Giant over there failed the challenge already, I might as well ask Dimitri to come over here and set an example.
Dedue: About that......
Sylvain: (Starta Pinching his Nose in Annoyance) Oh my fucking-You mean to tell me Dimitri failed too? Really!?
Felix: I always figured the boar would have a better chance at completing it out of all of us here.
Dedue: (Takes a Bit of a Deep Breath Before Explaining) Okay, this is completely speculation and haven't heard anyone of this from, but.....the other morning, when I walked down the halls, writing down the daily routine for the day, I saw the professor sneaking a tray of breakfast into the majesty's chambers, whole only wearing a robe that resembles that of the majesty's.
Sylvain: A robe.....(Eyes Suddenly Begins to Widened at the Realization) Wait. Was the color of his robe blue and silky?
Dedue: (Simply Nodded) It was, yes.
Sylvain: Ahaa....See? I knew it would look familiar every time I see Dimitri wear it. (Starts Smirking Teasingly) So the king and teach are already getting busy these pass few nights, huh?~
Felix: (Shrugs) Can't say I'm surprised. Those two has gotten a lot more closer since the day they got see each other again for however long.
Ashe: (Smiles Brightly) Well, I'm happy for the both of them. They've been through a lot these past few years. So I think it's nice to see their bond gradually grow into something more each time passes. (Eyes Suddenly Widens at the Realization) Oh! That reminds me.....(Turns to the Gang) There's something I've been meaning to ask you guys.
Sylvain: What's up?
Ashe: What exactly is a....."Snu-Snu"?
Felix: (Immediately Gets Up From his Seat) And that's my cue to leave.
Ashe: (Watch Felix Casually Walks Away) Oh.... o-okay.....(Waves Goodbye to Felix) See you later, Felix!
Dedue: Uh...Ashe? What..... (Raises an Eyebrow in Uncertainty and Confusion) exactly made you want to know what that word is?.
Ashe: Well, you see, yesterday after we returned home from one of our....(Starts Blushing a Little) many date night sessions, Petra asked if we could ever try doing this "Snu-Snu" session this evening but I'm afraid I have no clue what it is.
Sylvain: (Starts Shaking his Head) Oh sweet, sweet, naive, Little Ashe. Let me tell you a little thing about those two simple syllabl-
?????: MESSAGE F0R SIR SYLVAIN JOSE GAUTIER!
Sylvain: (Immediately Gets Startled) Oh God! (Turns to see the Local Gatekeeper Presenting Him a Envelope) Uhhh....(Receives the Envelope) thanks....
As The Gatekeeper salutes to him before marching off, Sylvain opens the envelope and reads the letter from inside. The longer he reads it however, the more he begins to blush and let out abnormal, goofy like laugh, causing Ashe and Dedue to stare at him weirdly.
Dedue: Uhh....Sylvain? (Raises an Eyebrow) What exactly did that letter sent to you say?
Sylvain: (Immediately Comes Back to Reality) Oh! (Turns Back to the Fup as He Quickly Hides the Letter Behind his Back) N-Nothing! Just some boring.... request letter for a side mission or whatever. (Chuckles Awkwardly) Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna have to head out to see Ingrid at my bed- I mean chambers- I MEAN TRAINING GROUNDS! (Claps his Hand Together) YES! Training grounds! So uh.....
Without any second thought or reason, Sylvain hurriedly runs away towards the door leaving his two fellow Blue Lions behind in the Table.
Ashe: He....seems to be in a hurry.
Dedue: ('Sigh') That he has....We'll just head to the library to find out what this....."Snu-Snu" really is after we finish our breakfast.
Ashe: (Nodded in Agreement) Okay.
The hours has passed since Ashe and Dedue has discovered and learned more about the meaning of the word "Snu-Snu", so the up and coming knight has decided to man up and test this new discovered with his beloved princess of Brigid later that evening. Needless to say, as wild and unexpected as the experience was....He still had a very good time at the end
Blue Lions: FAILED AS A UNIT!

I’ve spent last couple days watching old synchronized skating programs, and then randomly thought to myself “You know what would be neat? Dimileth synchronized skating AU!”... And then decided why not, so here’s the result of this particular brainstorm.
For those unfamiliar with the sport, synchronized skating is a discipline of figure skating in which 8-16 skaters (full team usually consisting about 20-25 skaters) performs as a team. This is what it looks like in practice.
My initial idea was that Byleth would already be an extremely competent skater but a newcomer to synchronized skating - maybe she was a figure skater or ice dancer, but something happened. Maybe she has hurt herself and that means she can’t jump properly anymore, her partner quit or maybe she has just lost passion and isn’t sure if she wants to continue skating anymore. Jeralt and/or Sitri (she’s still alive in this AU) would of course try to cheer her up, they have some quality family time and at one point they decide to take Byleth to watch synchronized skating World Championships with them for reasons maybe Sitri likes to follow it casually, who knows. Byleth has a good time, she enjoys the atmosphere of the competition and there’s one team she takes a specific liking to; this of course being Blue Lions and in the midst of it all she takes notice in one particular skater, who's later revealed to be none other than Dimitri.
The competition is great but tough and while Blue Lions perform well, they can’t do their personal best and end up in second place. Byleth feels a bit sorry for them as she liked both of their programs and their team spirit seemed great, but despite that she had a fun time watching the competition and considers to keep close eye to the sport moving forward. Jeralt and Sitri take notice on how Byleth seems to have cheered up, and some time later ask of her how she feels about quitting skating now - she still feels somewhat lost, but she doesn’t consider quitting anymore. Her parents then tell her that she could try synchronized skating if she’s interested, since the try-outs are open and the teams are searching for new members, Blue Lions included. At first she’s not certain if she should, but she decides to try it anyway because it’s not like she loses anything by simply trying. So when the time comes, she goes to the Blue Lions try-out and finally meets Dimitri; she immediately recognizes him as the skater she took notice of while in the worlds and during the try-out tries to socialize with him. Despite both of them being socially awkward, they get good first impressions of each other and Dimitri says he’d like to keep contact with Byleth even if she didn’t get into the team - not that it’s even necessary, as some time later Byleth gets to know that she was accepted to Blue Lions!
Now when it comes to Dimitri in this AU, he has already skated in Blue Lions for a season or two and he has been a synchronized skater ever since he was a little kid. I came up with a little backstory on why he chose synchronized skating in the first place, and it begun when Rodrigue brought Lambert to watch the Worlds with him years ago because his girlfriend was skating in there. Lambert agreed somewhat begrudgingly because he wasn’t really a figure skating person and would’ve much rather spent time practicing (idea here being that he and Rodrigue were famous ice hockey players in their youth), but much to his surprise he did end up enjoying it and there was a one particular skater in Blue Lions who caught his eye. Rodrigue and his girlfriend then decided to play matchmakers and arranged a meeting for the two; long story short they befriended and fell in love with each other, and after she ended her active skating career season or two later they got married and had Dimitri. As per canon she died when Dimitri was a toddler but since Lambert kept all of her skating memorabilia, Dimitri did know a good deal about her and wanted her to be proud of him - so once he was old enough to put his skates on, he was determined to become synchronized skater, to make her proud. Since pretty much all of the coaches in his club knew his mum back in the day, he was always under self-inflicted pressure to perform well. He has known Sylvain, Felix and Ingrid ever since skating school, met Dedue while they were juveniles, got to know Mercedes, Annette and Ashe in juniors and they’ve been tightly-knit group ever since those junior seasons.
No when it comes to Dimitri’s relationship with Lambert in the AU, I’ve thought that he’d always been extremely supportive of Dimitri, even becoming the caretaker for his teams few times - if we keep the idea of him being a famous ice hockey player in his youth, this would’ve likely made Dimitri something of a celebrity among his peers, putting him under even more pressure to perform well and serve as example to his teammates. Lambert would still die in the AU but it would likely happen a bit later than in canon, maybe when Dimitri is in juniors. It still was a world shattering event to him, and would just add more weight and pressure on Dimitri’s already fragile mental state.
What happens next would be the actual meat of the AU, with Byleth learning what it means to be a synchronized skater and trying to find her place in the team, Dimitri becoming the captain of Blue Lions and struggling with that role along with his personal demons and life, along with Byleth befriending the other Blue Lions and her budding relationship with Dimitri. Of course it will have a happy ending with Blue Lions getting their well deserved WC-win after all the hardships and Dimileth getting together, but feel free to add more into this because all I have is the beginning, basic outline and the end - and there’s still room for 7-11 teammates, so there’s lot to add on.

To End Where You Started
GN!Reader x Dimitri
This is a response to a request for a GN!Reader who was childhood friends with Dimitri before switching sides once it came time for the war. This one took me much longer to write because I wanted to better establish the circumstances of the work. Hopefully, you love it all the more! If you like this, there is another I wrote for the same prompt with Felix on my page!
Requests are open. The story will continue under the cut.
You’ve always valued human life.
So when you saw Dimitri in the Holy Mausoleum, his mind lost and his lance bloody, you weren't sure what to do next.
It seemed no one knew what to do next. Felix was standing in front of Annette, glaring daggers at the blond. Mercedes slowly shifted toward her friend as Sylvain and Ingrid exchanged worried yet knowing looks. Dedue stepped forward, though he had no words. Even the professor seemed to be at a loss.
Dimitri, however, just began laughing again and shouting nonsense.
“No one will rest until Edelgard and the rest of the Empire force are burning in hell.”
“Your Highness-”
“Did I stutter, Dedue? Or perhaps you are considering turning your back on me now?”
 “Snap out of it, Boar!” Felix growled. “We’re not going to-”
“Then leave! If you no longer see me as your leader, why not go join her?’
Silence.
You could only watch as Dimitri’s eyes scanned the faces of your allies, daring your friends to take a step in either direction. No one spoke, but there was a palpable tension in everyone’s body. In the way that Mercedes and Annette clung to each other, in the way that Felix kept his hand by his sword, Dedue kept silent and steady, and Professor Byleth did not intervene. In the way that Sylvain grit his teeth, Ashe pursed his lips, and Ingrid practically strangled the pole of her lance.
In the way that you stepped forward, quiet yet resolute.
“I won’t be treated like this.”
Dimitri scowled, “You’re a soldier, aren’t you? You signed up for this the moment you joined the Blue Lion house.”
“I signed up to fight in the hopes of protecting Faerghus and its people! I signed up to honor my family and keep the ones I love safe!” you shouted over him before bringing your voice back down. “There is no honor in this.”
“And you would not serve your future king? Where is your honor in running away?”
“I would not bow to those corrupted by their emotions! No one who would act in such a manner ought to represent Faerghus!”
“Then go to her! Run off and join the scum of the earth that march under that woman’s name!” he spat. “But mark my words, when we do meet again, I shall meet you with the fate of a traitor. There will be no mercy even should you beg for it. Do not expect remorse from any of us when your head, too, rolls upon the dirt.”
You did not allow your face to betray any emotion at all. You would show no sign of anything, despite the way his words cut through you. How could someone you practically exalted, someone you had become so close to over the past several months, turn around and talk to you like this.
Maybe your friends weren’t strong enough to stand up for themselves. Maybe they had too much to lose; people to protect and family to remain with. Ideals, relations, and possessions that could only be secure if they sided with Dimitri. A few had said as such, declaring their belief in Dimitri as their future king.
You loved them dearly, but there wasn’t a single one among them that you would allow yourself to be treated this way for. Especially not now, when none cared to stand up for you.
Finally, you clenched your teeth. If that was how he really felt, and if your friends were letting him speak for them, then that truly was the end of it.
“Maybe I will go. Edelgard would at least pretend to care whether I live or die, and the Black Eagles are actually bold enough to stand up for what they believe.”
Spinning on your heel, you left the Mausoleum alone.
In truth, you had no intention of joining the empire. At least not at first. Once you arrived back home, you informed your parents of the prince’s delusion. They seemed to be proud of your decision, and as proof of their support, chose to become a neutral faction in the war.
The amount of prestige and connections that came with that sacrifice…you were torn between being moved and remorseful. While it was true that your family had not lost too much power, as crest wielding houses tended not to do, there was still a great sacrifice made in keeping you safe from the Kingdom’s demands.
That was not the only change, however. It turns out that news travels fast when the family of a veritable noble house defects from their allies. People were stopping by left and right, bargaining troop stations, land usage, resource management, and all the other things that would keep your mother and father busy. You chose to focus on defending your land, though it did not consist of much work while both the Alliance and the Empire found it so valuable.
Needless to say, you were more than curious the day your mother called you into one of the drawing rooms to meet with one of her guests.
“Mother, what is this about? You know I prefer not to attend these sorts of things.”
“Oh, I know very well, darling. This one is a bit different, though. Someone has requested to confer with you directly, and I would have been in a bit of a tight spot to say no.”
“What do you mean?”
“It is no secret that we have been both opening up to and prospering from negotiations from several sides of this war. There have been enticing offers to nullify our neutrality and pledge allegiance here or there. You know this.”
“Oh,” you were beginning to catch on. “So then someone must have made an offer that you liked?”
“Just…promise me you’ll keep an open mind.”
“Of course.”
With an odd tension about you, you braced yourself for whatever would be found in that room. Your mother was not usually one to be so cryptic. A quiet sigh left your lips as you turned around.
The doors opened in front of you.
“Ah, I see you made your way here without much trouble.”
…what?
“Lady Edelgard? What are you-...Shouldn’t you be heading the war effort somewhere?”
What was this, really?
Remembering yourself, you lowered yourself in greeting, “Forgive me, your Imperial Majesty.”
You rose, trying to process the image in front of you. The Emperor of Adrestia sat poised on the sofa with a cup of tea your mother had no doubt been the one to offer. At her side stood Hubert, dutiful as he was so often described.
Soundlessly, she set down her cup, “Everything I do is for the future. For this war to end. I took notice that you were not among your former classmates’ ranks and grew curious. Needless to say, I did not need to look far to find you.”
“It was not my intention to run and hide,” you stated, taking a seat on the couch across from Edelgard.
“I never meant to imply as such,” she began. “On the contrary, I believe you still have a place in this war. If you left for the reasons I believe you did, that is.”
The conversation that followed consisted of platitudes and ideals; the type of which you both seemed to agree upon. You found your own ideas of the values of talent and human life to be eerily similar. It was decidedly reassuring that she had come to you directly, so that you could see them reflected in the leader of the Empire firsthand.
In time, you would join the Empire’s ranks under a woman named Cornelia while your house remained neutral. It would not have been in the best interests for a house so distant from the Empire to declare fealty, after all.
~~~~~~~
Several years later, you would be uncertain of your decision.
After everything you had witnessed Edelgard do up to this point, you weren’t so sure she viewed your ideals in the same light. Crest beasts, experiments, secret treaties, and deals made in the dark of night…you couldn’t get behind it, but your family had already made its decision.
Even so…
I agreed to fight for the empire, you reminded yourself, not for this woman.
Right now, you were being assigned to defend the Kingdom’s capital in an effort led by Cornelia. Ironically, the sorceress seemed to be the epitome of everything you stood against, yet here you were as her ally.
How far you had come from home.
She had positioned you between a pair of horrifying machines; two technological terrors known as viskam.
How low you must have come from your initial meeting with the Emperor.
You watched as your previous house leader’s army dispersed. Some soldiers veered left, others went right, but Dimitri’s main force charged up the middle, directly at you and the mechs Cornelia had placed.
Watching diligently, you noted how the Kingdom soldiers would take on multiple of Cornelia’s fighters while Dimitri would sneak past.
Well, as sneaky as someone with a bright fur cape and a target on his back could be.
A thought came to mind with every step forward he took. It came slowly, not sudden in the slightest, but sure.
If I were to kill Dimitri, all of this would end.
It was true, you knew. You were unsure how you felt about it, though you deduced that part of that uncertainty came from your past friendship with the prince. But had he truly reverted from the monster you left in the Holy Mausoleum?
There was only one way to find out, you supposed. You would face your past friend head-on. If he turned out to be the same man you saw that day, you would not hesitate to kill him. Anything to end this war.
Just as he made his way to the staircase, you walked forward, blocking off the top.
“Where do you think you’re going?”
Dimitri’s eyes went wide, but you didn’t buy it. He had a clear view of you positioned just below Cornelia since the moment he walked into her sight.
So what, then? Were you to believe his surprise came from the idea that you were actually trying to stop him? You’d be lying if you said that wasn’t the slightest bit insulting.
“It’s you…but why-”
You threw a dagger at him, which whiffed as he sidestepped, “That’s all I get? It’s you? After all those years, not to mention the amalgamation of everything you said and did once the Flame Emperor unmasked herself, you cannot even say my name?”
His eyes softened as though hurt, “I didn’t think I had the privilege, anymore.”
“Then fight me! You have always given yourself the privilege to take the lives of others,” another dagger, this one closer to hitting its mark before Dimitri barely moved out of the way, “Do not let mine be any different.”
“I’m sorry,” he approached you, climbing the stairs, “I understand why you left, but know now that I do not wish to hurt you. Just step aside so-”
“And then what? Let you kill Cornelia? Condemn thousands of others in some future conquest?”
What were you doing? This version of Dimitri was worlds apart from the boy you left in the Holy Mausoleum.
So why were you still fighting him?
A loud noise disrupted your thoughts. You turned to face it, noting that Dimitri paused, as well. Farther away, Cornelia let out a dark cackle.
“Wonderful job getting the poor princeling right where I need him. Your death will not be in vain.”
You did not allow yourself to fully process her words as a bright light shot out of the viskam that had made that awful noise, earlier. With the future king just paces away, you could guess where it was going to land.
But Dimitri had turned to face Cornelia.
It appeared you had a choice to make.
“Don’t resist,” you closed the distance between yourself and the Kingdom's rightful heir. He had grown since your last encounter; holding this grudge could only do more harm than good.
Maybe that meant you would not survive this, but in that moment, what was your life next to his?
So, in the second before he could react and before the viskam struck, you pushed Dimitri down the stairs.
And it was when the world went from bright white to pitch black that you knew your death would not be in vain.
~~~~
“A…ing…rk?”
“We…bre…ag?”
“I bel…sh…wake up in…!”
Everything ached, and you couldn’t move. It would probably hurt if you tried, anyway.
At least you could feel something, right? At least you were alive. Though if you had to go through life like this, then perhaps you were better off dead.
But then a cooling sensation began to make itself known throughout your body. It was strongest in your head, torso, and legs, though you could feel it spreading and connecting in your arms and neck.
Tentatively, you allowed your eyes to open.
“Oh, thank goodness! Mercie, we did it!” Annette beamed from her position at your head.
Felix scoffed, “About time.”
“How do you feel? Are you alright?”
“I can’t feel my legs,” you managed, surprised at the strength of your own voice, “and…I cannot move.”
Scanning the area with your eyes, you realized you hadn’t been moved, either. You were still lying on the floor by the stairs; exactly where you remember being struck down.
“Is Cornelia…?”
“Dead,” Felix confirmed.
“And I remember pushing his Highness down the stairs. It was the best I could do with my own strength…” you had known you weren’t strong enough to normally push him far enough out of the way nor to pull him far enough before he instinctively resisted, ”but he isn’t hurt too badly, is he?”
“Oh goodness, no! Annie told me she saw the whole thing. Apparently, Dimitri caught himself rather quickly.” Mercedes reassured you.
Annette frowned, “I’ve never had to spend this much time on an injury, and certainly not while working with others. I’m surprised it’s taking this long.”
“I’m surprised you’re alive.”
“Felix!”
“What? You and I both saw that thing,” he turned from Annette back to you. “If you had sustained any other injuries before getting hit by that thing, you’d have been dead on the spot.”
Annette and Felix continued their banter as you shut your eyes and listened. Finally, you began to feel your body coming back to life; stronger and back into your control.
“Okay, I think that should do it! How does that feel?”
Annette waited another moment for your response before calling your name in confusion.
“Oops,” Mercedes giggled, “I think the magic might have lulled them to sleep. We did go a little overboard, I suppose.”
“Is everything alright?”
The group turned, looking up at the new voice that joined them.
“Prince Dimitri! Yes, everything is fine. They should be all better upon awakening.”
“Ah, that’s good. I am sorry to have left you all here for so long. Sylvain, Ingrid, and myself were working on reconciling with the remaining soldiers.”
Felix raised a brow, “Then where are they?”
“Once the issue of alliances was out of the way, Ingrid told me they could handle the rest,” Dimitri directed his eyes down to you. “Sylvain…said it might be best if I came to check on them.”
The swordsman’s expression didn’t change, “Well that doesn’t make any sense. There’s already three of us-! Hey!”
Dimitri balked as he watched Annette get up and drag Felix with her. Mercedes followed close behind, smiling back at him.
“Let us know if they need any more help!”
“Y-Yes of course…” he stammered, confused.
“Of course what?”
Shocked to hear your voice, the Blue Lion’s leader dropped his gaze unto where you had been resting on the floor, “Ah! You’re awake!”
You made a small noise, blinking against the light of the sun as you began to sit up.
“Mercedes told me to fetch her if you were having any issues. Are you alright?”
Methodically, you tested each of your limbs, “Yes…Yes, I think so.”
“Good,” he sighed, and you swore you saw him relax the slightest bit.
The ensuing silence was uncomfortable, to say the least.
“Forgive me for this. I know you’ve just recovered, but I’d like to thank you for saving my life.”
“You're welcome,” you said, “but why are you apologizing for that?”
He maintained eye contact with you, “Because I would also like to ask you why you did that.”
At first, you didn’t really have a response. The more you thought about it though, the more clear everything felt in your head. There was really only one answer.
“I just did what I thought was right.”
“But I was terrible to you!” Dimitri didn’t hesitate, “I said horrible things to you, and I treated you like…”
“Like I was worthless?”
It was as though all the words left Dimitri's mouth. After another moment of silence, he finally averted his gaze, “I do not deserve your forgiveness.”
“No, you really don’t, do you?”
…no reaction. So he was telling the truth.
“But, if you were to apologize, I might forgive you.”
He looked to you slowly, a look of timid surprise written on the blond’s face, “Surely, it would take more than that…”
“It should not take more than that if you are genuine,” you painted your face with a small frown, in conflict with yourself, “You’re not the same person you were 5 years ago, Dimitri. I am not about to make a habit of forgiving people just because some time has passed, but I know that many more people can be helped if we clear the air right now.”
“Right,” he swallowed, extending his hand down to you. “In that case, know that I am truly sorry for the way I treated you, both within the Holy Mausoleum and the several days before. I also apologize for the effect it has had upon both you and your family, though it seems you have found a way to make the most of your situation.”
You laughed a bit at that, accepting his offer to help you to your feet, “I suppose you could say that.”
Now it was the prince’s turn to frown, “I am being serious. This will not happen again. I promise to respect and honor both you and all that you do for the Blue Lions.” He paused, suddenly unsure, “If…you do choose to come back, that is.”
Turning away to hide the small blush that appeared at his phrasing, you looked at the stairwell, “It would be thoughtless not to join, seeing how I almost died for you.”
At the feeling of his hands on your arms, you turned back to him, surprised.
“You must promise to never do that again. Do you understand me?”
“I…you know I could never promise that. You’re too important.”
“Swear it anyway,” he pleaded.
How uncharacteristic, you wondered.
“Really, Dimitri-”
“I don’t care if it’s a lie,” he let go of you, taking a step back while never wavering his gaze, “Just…”
He seemed to have run out of words, and all the two of you could do was stare at each other. Eventually, you broke first with a sigh. You couldn’t bear to maintain eye contact knowing you could never rely on your words alone to determine your future. Regardless, you spoke.
“...I…promise…that will not happen again.”
A grimace appeared on Dimitri’s face out of the corner of your eye, but the two of you spoke no more after that. Wordlessly, you left to go find Mercedes and the others. Where Dimitri went in the moments following, you had no clue, but the conversation would stay in your mind throughout the rest of the war.
Only time would tell if your promise was kept.

Permission to ask about your favourite three houses ships?
Absolutely! My absolute favorite ship from Fire Emblem Three Houses/Hopes is Claude x Lorenz. I know a lot of people hate Lorenz, but I love him, and if you put in the work, his supports with Claude are just everything. They really seemed to lean into it for Three Hopes too. I mean just look at them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
LIKE?!?!?! How can they have this much chemistry and not get married?!?!? I didn't originally ship them, but there's some excellent fanart and once I started thinking about it, it felt so obvious and now it's my OTP.
But I have other ships! My other favorites are Dimitri x male Byleth, Caspar x Lindhart, female Byleth x Mercedes, Rhea x Catherine, Catherine x Shamir, Shez x Arval. And this might sound weird but I also ship Hilda x Dedue (because I wrote a fanfic once where Claude and the golden deer teamed up with Dimitri and saved him before the time skip and Hilda wound up harboring Dimitri and Dedue in her house secretly and me and the person I was writing with wound up loving the dynamic we created for her and Dedue,) and Felix x Holst but not as he is in Three Hopes (because that same fanfic was written prior to the release of Three Hopes so I'd invented my own version of Holst and he and Felix hit it off.)
Also I casually like the ship between Dimitri and Sylvain, Caspar and Ashe, Caspar and Ferdinand, Dorothea and female Byleth, and Leonie and Seteth.
So yeah, very few of them have supports where they wind up officially married, but I love them all the same. Also almost everyone in this game is queer and the only reason why only like four of them are canonical is because the writers are cowards.

Ooh could you please write headcanons for Felix Ashe and Ignatz being shy around female Byleth?
(Ughh it's just such a cute idea I couldn't resist > V < )
Ashe: He’s typically pretty reserved and keeps his thoughts to himself on a good day. But after mustering the courage to confess his feelings to the one and only Byleth, he barely found the strength to do more.
The honeymoon phase was in full swing. Sweet Ashe would blush every time he saw you, or heard your voice, or even thought about you.
And all that exposure to the object of his affections left him in a poor state; namely, a bashful mess.
If he spotted you across the hall in the mornings, he would wave you down and give you a cheerful greeting. When you smiled and waved back, it made his heart skip a beat.
Another excellent way to make him shy would be checking on him to see if he had gotten enough sleep the night before. He did have a dreadful habit of getting bags under his eyes from staying up far too late.
If your finger touches his skin just slightly, it makes his whole body seize up and his bashfulness runs amok.
Little touches like that, be it brushes of your hand or a bump of your shoulder, it really does make his heartbeat pick up.
Otherwise, the quickest way to make him shy would be by complimenting his excellent cooking. Ashe loves to cook for you, more than anything. He tries to cook every meal of the day for you if he could, but he also knows that’s not always possible.
That’s what makes your compliments to the chef even more special. He loves waiting for your first bite (particularly when you’re trying something new).
You’re always so happy to see him light up, knowing he’s always so excited to see your reaction to something as simple as his cooking.
You make sure to give your compliments to the chef; once in the kitchen, and later in the corner of your office.
That makes him terribly shy (and wildly happy).
-------------------------
Felix: What doesn’t make him blush when you’re involved?
For all his bluster and posturing, Felix is an incredibly shy person. He finds it difficult to do even basic relationship things, such as embrace or hold your hands when you’re in public.
He shoots glares at Sylvain all the time, out of sheer jealousy because he’s able to flirt so openly with his partner.
Yet here Felix is, head over heels in love with his wife and can’t do a damn thing about it!
Of course, he does his best to make this up to you in private, but he finds a blush rising on his cheeks even when it’s just the two of you.
If he can’t hold your hand, he finds his heart skip a beat when you're playing with the young children, or petting the church strays (especially when you’re surrounded by the cats…it’s just so damn adorable).
But nothing is more blush-inducing than watching you spar. If he gets to observe you duel with someone else, it makes him more shy than when you cross blades with him. Mainly because he doesn’t have to focus on winning, but rather, he can watch your movements.
You’re so elegant and poised, and every attack is merciless in its calculation. You’re an incomparable fighter, and watching you absolutely destroy Dimitri in a fight is enough to make his heart sing.
He’s hot around the collar and blushing like mad by the end of a battle, and if the Boar is your opponent, he struggles to keep down his swelling pride and his extremely embarrassing blush.
It’s just impossible for him to think you saw a cold hearted, snappy little brat like him and thought he’d be someone worthy enough to call your husband.
It was an honor he held dear every day, even if he stammered trying to admit it.
You know how he feels, though. A quick kiss on the lips and a tousle of his hair brings out that shy red flush all over again.
-------------------------
Ignatz: He really wants to be more daring, but he finds himself hiding behind his canvas and trying (failing) to capture a perfect portrait of your beauty.
The main reason this is impossible is, whenever you offer to pose for him, he keeps staring at you….and staring, and staring, and….well, it’s bad for his heart.
Part of what makes you so happy to be with him is when you’re giving him little tender touches. His face always lights up in such a bright red blush, it’s adorably sweet and innocent.
Your husband is always doing his best to follow your lead, trying to go for your hand when you’re out for a stroll together. But you seem a step ahead and grab his hand before he even has a chance.
If you knew how many sketchbooks he had that were just filled with your visage, he would surely die.
But he found himself sketching you absentmindedly so often, it would be less of a risk for his drawings to be found if they weren’t scattered around randomly, but condensed into one of his many sketchbooks.
He gets flustered whenever you ask him what he’s drawing if you happen to be nearby.
A quick, stuttered excuse is deemed acceptable for you to dismiss any concerns, which lets him breathe a sigh of relief. He would be absolutely panicked if you discovered just how many drawings of you he had!
He’s shy enough as it is; he wouldn’t know what to do with himself if you found out just how much he absolutely, totally adored you.
And while it wouldn’t be all that bad if you did, he knew he wouldn’t be able to live down the teasing that would follow.
Best he keep his secret admiration for his dearest wife to himself….at least, for a little while longer.

Swan Byleth au!
So I came up with this au a couple of days ago!
Byleth was cursed by a powerful magic user who vowed to only break the curse when someone proclaimed their love for them or Byleth proclaimed their love for the sorcerer.
Byleth being Byleth doesn’t say anything at all so when they go to Garreg Mach, no one apart from Jeralt knows about their predicament.
Now being with the Blue Lions (older blue lions this takes place after dimitri is crowned king) they teach them everything they know and do (with a few musical numbers too!) and byleth and dimitri start to form a bond with each other.
But it’s at the night of the annual ball when the sorcerer (Hubert ooo) comes back to get their final answer from byleth.
Said teacher runs away from the ball Dimitri hot on their heels, only for Hubert the sorcerer to place several distractions so they can’t get to the lake on time because he knows the answer will be the same.
Unless their life is slowly fading away and they beg for him to save them.
But that does not happen, before they take their final breath Byleth manages to confess how they feel for dimitri.
Dimitri over Byleth’s “dead” body confesses he loves them to and challenges Hubert to a duel.
He “kills” him and byleth wakes up, and then happily ever!
Or maybe not.
