January OTP Prompts
WOW this was another hard one to write and I didn't follow the prompt very closely but this is my writing exercise so I have decided I can do whatever I want lol I also need to stick with writing these in the morning because oh my gosh it is so much easier. On that note, even though it is later than planned, I did finish day 16!
16. Forbidden love AU
Matty swallowed hard, tracking George’s movements as he crossed the stage, bending down to mess with an extension cord that wasn’t fully taped down, showcasing the way his light wash jeans hugged his arse just right. Matty looked away quickly, glancing around the rehearsal space, cheeks flushed with the fear that he had been caught looking. He felt like the heroine in a romance novel, sneaking around with George like they were teenagers caught up in some kind of forbidden love affair. He wondered if he was Romeo or Juliet in the scenario. He wondered if they would make it out alive.
He shook his head, trying to banish the thought. He knew he was being dramatic, no one was going to die. What he and George were doing wasn’t forbidden, technically, it was just very ill advised. Especially with the way things had ended in absolute flames last time. Having left Ross to scoop him up and put him back together, Hann doing the same for George, while Jamie amended their contract to include a “no fraternization policy.”
Maybe what they were doing technically was forbidden, Matty thought, his blush deepening when he realized that he had been caught by George who gave him a wink that Matty was choosing to interpret as a promise of what was to come later. He licked his lips, his mouth suddenly feeling very dry. He had a feeling George had worn those jeans on purpose, knowing that they would drive him mad. Matty was pretending that he hadn’t chosen this specific pair of trousers for the same reason.
“Why are you making that face?” Ross asked, dropping down onto the leather couch they had dragged into the rehearsal space to face the stage. Matty had spent more nights than he wanted to admit on the couch, too tired to drive back to his flat after spending the day obsessing over their new stage show. He specifically didn’t think about what he and George had done together on the very same couch the night before.
“What face?” Matty asked, hoping that his voice didn’t sound as strangled to Ross as it did to his own ears.
“You’re all red,” Ross said, pressing the back of his hand to Matty’s forehead. “Are you feeling alright? You don’t feel warm, are you constipated or something?”
Matty swatted Ross’ arm away. “I’m fine,” he said, his blush continuing to darken a few more shades, George was grinning at him from the stage, and now Matty was really thinking about what had gone down on the couch the night before.
“Oh god,” said Ross, following Matty’s gaze and realizing he was staring at George. “Please tell me you aren’t.”
“Aren’t what?” Matty asked, sitting on his hands so that he couldn’t reach up and start fiddling with his curls, a sure tell that he was lying.
“Fuck,” said Ross, “you guys are fucking again aren’t you.”
Matty’s blush told Ross everything he needed to know, and everything he didn’t want to.

beginning to understand what iketani meant with working on your own car makes you fonder of it bc i just replaced my brake discs and brake pads all on my own and the sense of pride and love for my car is unlike anything ive ever felt man
#ngl feeling so accomplished#even if it took me three hours bc my entire body weight was not enough to get the old rusty crusty dusty 17 year old discs off#had to ask the garage owner for help#not gonna lie when he showed up w a whole ass hammer he kinda scared me but#guess it was necessary??#anyways yippieeeee new brake discs#ventilated ones!!#honestly getting everything off was the hardest part#putting everything back on was basically just reverse engineering#man the new discs are so shiny every time i pass my car now im like ooh shiny#like what am i#a bird??#also shoutout to the 3mm of brake pad left on my old brake pads i cannot for the life of me believe my car stopped with those#took them out was like ''oh there's still quite a bit left'' then compared them to the new pads and there was a whole centimeter difference#like oh lawd.#BUT WE DID IT#IM SO HAPPY#my babygirl (read: car) was so brave#i hope i wont have to do this again anytime soon bc#do i feel proud#yes#do i have crippling anxiety that i messed up somewhere despite following The ChrisFix Tutorial and asking for a once-over by the garage owne#also yes#but f it we ball#iketani was right that shit do make u feel very proud#ok that's it that's my rambling for today#for the stray person reading this ily
