nah. they're really touchy amicas, tho. probably because im always touchy with my friends and it just kinda rubs off on my art. ravage is my Me character so i do end up giving him traits i have. one of those is being touchy with people he cares about 🤷‍♂️. he's especially touchy with drift as when they were grouped together in the dead end (which is where they met in my brain), ravage spent a lot of hours curled up in drift's car alt with laserbeak and buzzsaw for shelter. that touchy aspect never really left their dynamic.

and besides,

drift/deadlock's candle has always been lit for someone else.

going with my hc that ravage and drift are pre-war amicas, dratchet is now immediately 10x funnier to me bc ravage despises ratchet. he cannot stand him. rav and drift met ratchet at the dead end clinic and ravage immediately didn't like him, and that dislike carried over for the entire war. imagine getting together with your husband after four million years of bullshit only to be despised by what is essentially your best-friend-in-law.

this got a little long so boom, read more;

for sundrift, i want to see them YEARN. these two mfs have both done awful things in the name of ending the war (drift wiping out sunstreaker's squad on dabola and general level of viciousness, sunstreaker teaming up with starscream to kill megatron, get the bots off earth, and kill all the humans). both of their actions put each other in direct harms way, but it also ties a similarity between them as the "ones who went too far". drift's past as a decepticon and sunny's betrayal of the autobots has left a permanent mark on both of their reputations, and i want to see the effects of it! i want to see the very thing they bond over- the shared sense of disconnection amongst the autobots- be the same thing that makes them both hesitate to take that next step with each other! i want to see their guilt, their attempts to make amends, even if they fail! especially if they fail!

just. slow burn into friendship and into just barely reaching the point of just maybe accepting that they have romantic feelings for one another, and... then the overlord arc happens. drift takes the blame for what happens, his reputation is ripped to pieces, and he's forced to leave the lost light. i Want to See sunstreaker's POV of that. i wanna know what he felt when drift's badge was taken from him and he was banished, not knowing what was really going on behind the scenes.

buuut that's more long-term fic stuff. for shorter, simpler stuff? need these mfs to just sit down and talk about their emotions. about themselves, about each other, about the other autobots. need them to talk about the loneliness that comes with their situation, despite being on a ship surrounded by people who would of been their friends, in other circumstances. i want to see them fumble their interactions with each other over and over again until they finally get it almost-right.

for drift and ravage??? god. there's so much. i want to see them gentle with each other but angry at the world. i want to see ravage defending drift and drift being the haven ravage can go to when he needs it. since they've known each other so long in my hc and their lives are so entertwined, there is just. so much to do with them. since beastformer drift is on the brain rn, ig the ideal fic would be rav guiding drift back into accepting his beastmode again after going years trying to push it away. sort of "this is a part of you, a part of us, and nothing can take that away". but also i want angry ravage! so many thoughts. so little brainpower to word them.
