So, I know Paldea can't establish a Corviknight Taxi system like Galar's, on account of Tinkaton actively hunting them, but I feel like using Staraptor or Braviary would be a viable alternative.
Do Tinkaton hunt non-Corviknight bird Pokémon, or is the issue training the aforementioned birds to provide the service?
tinkaton hunt corviknight for their metal, so staraptor and braviary aren't a problem in that sense. it ultimately comes down to ease of training and personality!
staraptor aren't great candidates because of their sheer aggression. although they can bond well to a single trainer, they're territorial and get stressed by having too many people in their space. using staraptor as taxi mons risks a high rate of burnout and potential safety concerns. a staraptor is much happier battling.
similarly, braviary are also aggressive, and in addition they're relatively late evolvers. that's a lot of time to dedicate to training a pokemon that isn't particularly suited for the job. they also generally need battling as additional enrichment.
but squawkabilly are intelligent pokemon that enjoy working together, and at the end of the day they're happy to retire to an aviary with their friends! they aren't particularly aggressive if they're trained well, and they would rather hang out with their buddies than waste energy fighting if they can. plus, relative to size, they're actually stronger than a corviknight is! a small flock of squawkabilly is perfectly capable of safely and happily carrying a taxi.

sorry but if you say that removing mass pings before setting up a viable replacement somehow won't affect the site's economy you have no idea what you're talking about. so many sub-communities Full of paying players rely on mass pings. like obviously I don't see the point of people going full doomsday "this update will kill the site oh god oh no"-mode, because I sincerely doubt staff will just throw mass pings into the void before improving the pinglist system, but if they did do that then they'd literally be shooting themselves in the foot. gem sales would slow down, at least until people found a good alternative, which could take god knows how long. and even if they didn't, killing a site function that a lot of players HEAVILY rely on is just a bad move. the site wouldn't immediately explode and die. but it would absolutely change for the worse lmao
and let's not forget that people don't like relying on mass pings. people aren't complaining because they just like off-site pinglists sooo much that they can't live without them. you think skin artists enjoy waiting 15 minutes for GASP to load in just to ping potential buyers? you think people like searching through huge sheets and trying to find + remove their name from a dom or g1 or swipp pinglist that they're no longer interested in? you think people like asking thread owners to add them to a list because sheets won't even fucking open on their device so they can't do it themselves? you think people like going through tens of pinglists one by one and changing their entry because they had a username change? you think people like dealing with others accidentally or intentionally overwriting their name on a list, or alternatively adding their name to a list they don't care about for shits and giggles? do you think people like knowing that if they open a spreadsheet while logged in to their google account their email can be tracked, and they can subsequently get fucking doxxed if someone is feeling malicious enough?? obviously not!
a more robust pinglist system would solve ALL of these problems. but we don't have one right now! and people are rightfully worried about it because staff announced that they're set on removing mass pings "at some point" before receiving feedback and subsequently improving on this new system. that's the problem. we know mass pings are on the chopping block. we don't know what kind of updates the pinglist system might have in the future, or if those updates could replace all those big, complicated, mass-ping reliant spreadsheets. to act like people are somehow being unreasonable when they voice their worries about this because "staff said mass pings aren't being removed yet" is just fucking absurd
like no these aren't the flight rising end times, but no this update is not a non-issue either. something can be a problem without being the Worst problem Ever. what a shocker!! 😵‍💫

Soren Kierkegaard by Mike Newton (2017)
“Dewey: Do you remember the first book by Kierkegaard which you read?
Percy: Yes, it was his first one: Either/Or. I remember thinking that this was going to be an easy one because of the section on "The Diary of the Seducer" in there. I'd been reading that the existentialists claimed him as their intellectual progenitor, so I was expecting something as accessible as Sartre's plays and novels or Marcel's plays. It was very difficult to read. I thought it was a hopeless undertaking.
So after trying that I tried a couple of other things. Sickness unto Death is a great title but I found myself in difficulty all over again. It is very difficult to read. Repetition is difficult. But I had almost given up when I skipped to Concluding Unscientific Postscript. Either I had read somewhere or somebody had told me that that book had the most direct kind of communication. And fortunately, perhaps because I had had such trouble before, I had no difficulty. I could read that straight through. It was, to me, the real open door into Kierkegaard.
Of course, there is no trouble reading the Edifying Discourses since they are very homiletic in nature. But that wasn't what I was after, really.
Dewey: Kierkegaard's ideas on despair and the self from Sickness unto Death - how despair permeates society and how the individual struggles with this seem to come through a lot in your novels.
Percy: I worked hard on Sickness unto Death. I knew he was getting at something very important, very important to me, and I finally got it. Strangely enough, the harder you work at it the more important it seems to be to you when you finally do understand what he is getting at.
The whole history of my reading Kierkegaard consists of repeated attempts of reading and then frustration, leaving it alone and then coming back to it and reading it again. I'd read Postscript then go back and try to read Repetition, because in Postscript he would sum up all the works and the different stages. I would read about the stages and then go back and try to read Kierkegaard's book, Stages on Life's Way - which I never did like as well as the description of the stages in Postscript. So really Postscript was a kind of oasis. I'd go back there to get straight on things, gather more energy, and get up nerve - then take out into the desert to try to figure out Kierkegaard's pseudonymous writings.
So reading Kierkegaard is like growing up; it takes a long time, many years, a lot of work. And I still can't say that I have read him thoroughly or even completely.
(…)
Dewey: Did you talk to other people about Kierkegaard?
Percy: There was nobody to talk to.
(…)
Dewey: I am wondering about Kierkegaard's opposition to the idea of "going beyond" Christianity into some kind of vague, humanistic mysticism. Hegel went beyond Christianity to a general humanism, blending all specific religions together into an absolute religion. It seems that in all your novels there is someone who wants to go beyond Christianity.
Percy: Yes. But not just going beyond it. I would say that Christianity was absolutely the last solution they would have accepted.
They would begin by eliminating Christianity, and not even consider it as a viable alternative. My own development, and it is also important in the novels, has been a relationship to humanism - humanism understood as a non-Christian humanism, a secular, scientific humanism. I suppose the great bombshell with me was the famous passage of Kierkegaard's describing Hegel as the philosopher who lived in a shanty outside the palace of his own system and saying that Hegel knew everything and said everything, except what it is to be born and to live and to die. He left out something! For me, the great thing about Kierkegaard was that he expressed my own feelings about the whole scientific synthesis. You see, my whole education had been in science for twenty-five years, particularly at Columbia University Medical School. You could describe that as almost the quintessential institute of scientific humanism. And so I had my feelings that this was not enough, that there was something left over, that after you say all this, after you learn everything that you can at Columbia about what it is to be a human being, there is something awfully important left over. I was trying to systematize it, to see how you could talk about it. And having been brought up scientifically, I had a great respect for scientific rigor, rigor and precision of language. I certainly didn't want to say, well, besides science we have emotion and art that's the alternative. Of course, that had been the standard alternative, the American philosophical alternative starting with Dewey. On the one hand there was a science and on the other hand there was art, or play, or emotion. I knew that wasn't right. There had to be a more serious alternative than that. And so you can imagine what an eye opener it was to stumble on a couple of passages by Kierkegard who was saying (and the existentialists like - I said, I read the French existentialists first - seemed to be saying the same thing) that something has been left out by any kind of synthesis, by a scientific synthesis or a philosophical synthesis. And that, namely, what is left out is nothing less than the individual himself. This was a tremendous breakthrough, very exciting if this was true. Then of course what I discovered was that this was Kierkegaard's main subject of interest. Number one, the fact that the individual what it is to be a man, to live and to die, to be an individual is left out of the Hegelian system. But then he goes on to define what it is to be an individual. This is the other great thing. Here he says something that is just as staggering as the first statement. Namely, that - did he say it in Sickness unto Death? - the only way to be yourself is to be yourself transparently before God. It was a most enigmatic statement, but very important.
So what was important about Kierkegaard to me was that he was a man who was trying to open up a whole new area of knowledge to me in the most serious way, in the most precise way and quite as serious as any science, or more serious. And, of course, it is religious too. This was a far cry from the other alternative that I had always read about, that the alternative to science is art, play, emotion. I saw for the first time through Kierkegaard how to take the alternative system seriously, how to treat it as a serious thinker, as a serious writer. Before that I would have simply seen it as just religion or emotion. I hadn't seen any way to think about it. Kierkegaard gave me a way to think about it.
(…)
The most important single piece that Kierkegaard wrote is something I seldom hear about and a lot of people don't know too well. It's his essay called "The Difference between a Genius and an Apostle." That was tremendously important to me. Kierkegaard says that a genius is a man who arrives at truth like a scientist or a philosopher or a thinker. Truth, as he calls it, sub specie aeteri. He can arrive at a truth anywhere, anytime, anyplace, whereas an apostle has heard the news of something that has happened, and he has the authority to tell somebody who hasn't heard the news what the news is. I made use of this essay throughout several of the books. The whole structure of Binx's search is based on it. He talks about the horizontal search and the vertical search. The vertical search consisted of the times when he would read books about the philosophy of life, or about Einstein's theory of the universe or Schrödinger's - the German physicist - The World as I See It, and a book called The Chemistry of Life, and he understood it all. But he finished the book by midnight, and then his problem was to draw one breath and then the next, which is like Kierkegaard. Kierkegaard had an example of a young man who was given a task of working all day long and he finished the job at noon. That was one of Kierkegaard's crazy allusions. So that's the vertical search, in other words, what Kierkegaard would call the work of a genius. The fellow who figures out all the systems and all the formulas knowledge sub specie aeteri-which can be figured out anywhere, anytime, or any hour. But having done that, you see, he still has to draw one breath and then the next.
And then Binx goes to his horizontal search, which took the form in this case not of religion, but a kind of a debased religious fear of searching. He knew he had run out of the esthetic sphere-the women and music and science, and so forth. (And, incidentally, I place science in the esthetic sphere. I don't know whether Kierkegaard does that or not. I think that science and art are very closely allied there.) But he had run out of all this and had embarked on what he called a horizontal search. By this he certainly did not mean looking for God, although he talks about that. He rules out the search for God in the beginning, because he says that Americans already believe in God. Everybody believes in God, so how can you search for something everybody believes in? So he embarked on kind of an antic search which was still in the esthetic mode: going out, walking around, walking out to the lake at night, walking out to see the river, taking a ferry to Algiers, going to movies. So this is all still very much in the esthetic. But the two searches were certainly very much patterned after The Difference between a Genius and an Apostle - with that very much in mind.
I think Kierkegaard said if the hearer of the news asks the apostle, "On what grounds am I supposed to believe this news?" the apostle simply replies that "I have the authority to tell it to you, and if you don't believe me it is your fault. If I didn't have the authority, I wouldn't be telling you. You better believe it, and if you don't believe it it's on your own head." That was a tremendous distinction, a very clear distinction between the two. I used it very consciously at the end of The Last Gentleman. This priest who is a very ordinary, mediocre priest, has been dragged in by the scruff of the hair, so to speak, to baptize Jamie who was dying. Jamie can't talk to the priest; he is talking to Barrett. And Barrett is not aware of what is going on, exactly. All he has is a certain amount of equipment, a certain radar, a certain sensitivity. He knows that Jamie can understand him and he can understand Jamie. He can translate both to Sutter Vaught and to the priest. So the priest gives his spiel and says, "Do you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ?" He sets out the truths of the faith, like the Apostles' Creed. Jamie is supposed to say "Yes."
Jamie looks at Barrett and says, "What do you think? Am I supposed to believe this?" Barrett turns to the priest and says, "Is he supposed to believe this? How does he know it's true?" And the priest says, "If it wasn't true I wouldn't be here, that's why. I'm here. I'm telling you. If it weren't true I wouldn't be telling you." So that was a direct steal from Kierkegaard.
(…)
Percy: One big difficulty for me in reading Kierkegaard was that I had no philosophical training at all, especially about Hegel or the German idealists. That was a great obstacle and stumbling block for years. Kierkegaard was attacking Hegel. For a long time I thought that was irrelevant. I said, well, what difference does it make whether he successfully demolished Hegel or not, until I realized that you could very successfully extrapolate his attack on Hegel against what we might call scientism. The same thing he said about the Hegelian system might be said about a purely scientific view of the world which leaves out the individual. So once I made that extrapolation from Hegel, whom I cared nothing about, to a whole, scientific, exclusive world view, it became very relevant.” - ‘Walker Percy Talks about Kierkegaard: An Annotated Interview’, Bradley R. Dewey (The Journal of Religion, 54 July 1974),

What are ways you try to save the earth by reducing use of plastics...? I like using shampoo bars instead of buying them in plastic bottles. ✨✨✨✨
This feels like bait, because I don't really know why you would ask me this out of the blue otherwise, but I'll try and take it at face value and give as honest an answer as I can.
There are generally very few changes I can make to my everyday life, because I have a severely medically restricted diet, and therefore I can only buy the one version of certain foods that's available. A side effect of this is that I am subject to the packaging whims of the manufacturer and can't vote with my wallet to choose one with less packaging: if there is only one brand of something that is safe for me, that is the one I will buy.
Having allergies also means that a lot of plastic-saving systems, like refill shops, are unsafe for me, because of the potential for cross contamination. In the absence of viable non-porous non-allergenic alternatives, plastic is essential to keeping me safe when it comes to food and related products. This is also why many alternatives to things like plastic straws terrify me -- as a coeliac, it is amazing how many of them contain wheat (sometimes it's used in glue for the paper ones, and don't get me started on pasta straws as a concept).
Thanks to my allergies, I can also only use one type of shampoo (Johnson's Baby Shampoo) unless I want my scalp to bleed, and so far that only comes in one form. The best I can do is to buy the largest bottle available, so that it's being replaced infrequently. I don't use makeup, so that cuts down on a lot of waste, and I use a very minimal number of other 'beauty' products (for example, a basic face wash that I don't use nearly as often as I should and therefore it lasts me a long time).
I have had a reusable water bottle for years, and don't use plastic shopping bags, although the latter is hardly remarkable since they cost 20p each these days, and in any case I bring my shopping home by bike so everything has to go in my panniers and my rucksack. Of course, the fact that I cycle everywhere, don't own a car, and can't drive means that my environmental impact is smaller than many people's, even if I have no choice but to buy excessively-packaged food.
However, questions like this are frequently a distraction from the fact that until corporations stop their polluting behaviour, any individual's personal choices will have a negligible overall impact. In any case, as a disabled, chronically ill person, I can make fewer choices than others. This means it's important for others to make those choices (cut out the avoidable plastics, so that the unavoidable ones are not as big a problem), and also for scientists to continue working on safe, biodegradable alternatives to plastic, so that I am not forced to contribute to pollution simply to stay alive and fed with safe, allergen-free products.

2 for the end of year asks!! :]
(Ask post HERE)
Hiiiii <3
2. favourite fic of the year
I read too much fic. Hmm. Shit. We're turning this into Ryn's AO3 Wrapped: The Non-Embarrassing Version (Not An Exhaustive List At All). These were generally judged by how many times AO3 says I chose to re-visit them at 1AM and sob.
For screenreaders: Titles are hyperlinked, I'm @'ing the authors if I know they're on tumblr)
If they choose to see this: Hi. I think you're awesome. I'm just tagging you so people can find you #OnHere. I hope your Friday is rad. :)
Give him time by @obiwanobi personally came and murdered me when I went on another Star Wars kick back when Kenobi came out in June. Loosely canon-compliant, Obikin, and for big fans of characters who decide to re-work reality to bring the person they love back. Also, tragedy.
Accidental Baby Acquisition, which is basically What We Do In The Shadows + Baby. Carries the show tone off really well, is funny as hell, and features one of my favorite OCs ever in later installments in the form of Guillermo's sister Valentina.
The Uses of Adversity because I fell down The Sandman rabbithole like everyone else and "Crime Master!Hob", and this somehow became a comfort fic? He rescues Dream while imprisoned by Rodrick's son and it all spirals from there. Great characterization, great OCs, and there's a sequel happening!
Viable Alternatives, a House of the Dragon AU where Laenor exists to be more than a sad gay and artificial insemination exists! Big fan of how Rhaenyra doesn't get softened here and the Velaryons get more to do.
Time is a River was a real surprise to find, it's a time travel PJO AU that I thought was really fun--it makes Percy/Hermes work for me, which was a shock--and I kinda hope the author finds a sequel in them some day, (No pressure, of course; it was a gift to someone else, but also, it's rad and I want more).
I started reading Preserve or Raze by @foxyatlas before 2022, but the list doesn't feel right if I don't put it on here. It's a PJO AU where Percy winds up at Camp Jupiter, post-the original series, but I feel like it's cheating if I reveal the additional twist. Suffice to say, it is epic, has lots of shenanigans and worldbuilding, and I'd recommend it over Blood of Olympus anyday.
a girl who sees it all is super short, but it's a great Annabeth Chase bit, and I gotta include it.
Space Between is a Star Trek AOS one-shot in which Jim ruminates a lot in first person POV (I know! It's great! It works!) and looks pretty with his shirt off while Spock saves the day--as canon tends to go. Eventual love confessions ensue.
Went on a biiiig X-Men movies kick this year, which is the excuse for The Tower and the Hurricane being on the list. Set in a post-X-Men: First Class world where Magneto proves right and human-mutant war has ensued, and Xavier takes the school to his sanctuary. Lots of pining and tension set against a potential apocalypse, it's good times.
shoulder the sky (and the fic it inspired) is a fucking amazing Star Wars series featuring a lot of Obi-Wan whump, lot of pain, and a lot of the clones doing their best as the Jedi try to keep their shit together. 12/10, would watch everyone suffer again.
and we're gonna sing it again and again is the best Our Flag Means Death fic I have read, go argue with a wall.
kidnapping bruce wayne 'verse by @frownyalfred makes me laugh every time I read it, and is basically what it says on the tin: Bruce gets kidnapped a lot, he inevitably grows on the henchmen who are always contracted to kidnap him. There's a lot of unreliable POV in regards to A, the fact that Bruce is Batman, and B, Bruce is getting railed by Superman on a semi-regular basis, and it is prime comedy.
I regret nothing putting hand in unrebloggable hand (we go down together) on this list. Enjoy.
i won't be shamed by you is basically Buffy the Vampire Slayer is except Spike is really into reality TV and gradually infects the Scoobies with it. Background canon relationships, but the point is that Spike is invested in The Bachelor.
let not time deceive you (you cannot conquer time) is a modern The Old Guard AU where everyone is still immortal but Nicky is a millennial college student, with a lot of pining, lot of grad school and Catholic Church criticism, and a lot of angst. Also, Quynh shows up towards the end and she's a fucking delight.
I am not just recommending as wise as heaven and crueller than hell just because one of the stories was gifted to me by you. It's also fucking amazing PJO and possesses superior Nico and Luke characterization.

I picked Raihan on the select scout as an alternative for Striker Perrserker (and because I avoid having Tech units since there's still Irida and SS Hau that I need to candy), he's 2/5 now and he'll be 3/5 soon. After that, I'm running out of options to give striker candies. The only limited striker units with less than 3/5 investment that I have are Classic Blue, SS Red, Diantha, and OG Steven.
Considering the game hasn't added that many striker roles in the 5* limited roster lately (hope I don't jinx anything by saying this), who do you think among those four is worth the investment?
Well, we can never be sure what they'll do next, so holding is a valid option. That said...
Classic Blue gets some benefit at 2/5, specifically in Sharp Entry (saves him a turn buffing) and Accuracy +10 on Hyper Beam. 3/5 is mostly sync related, so if you don't intend to EX him, 2/5 is fine. It's been fine for me, anyway. He's not bad, but Blue always felt like the last winner of the Premium Rock Strikers. Emmet had crazy Sandstorm game and a high flinch, while SC Hilda had great gauge management and surprise bulk. Blue comparatively doesn't do as much for a team. I think you had Emmet, so it's worth considering how often this Blue will be used. I don't get the best play out of him for Gauntlet, but he can function.
SS Red I feel like fell off over time. Like he still works but you know. 2/5 gets Sharp Entry, Solar Flare 2, and Haymaker, which is pretty much all he needs. 3/5 just adds Solar Flare 5, and some odd utility in Adrenaline 1 or Rejuvenate 6, neither of which are viable to obtain without giving something else up. The main argument against him is just how many Fire types we have. Like sure, High Score, but even with that mode in mind, there are plenty of alternatives.
Diantha is...look, do you have Bede or SS Wally? Great, she's good. Do you not have those two? I feel like you have better options. Diantha gains almost nothing of value at 2/5, since Speedy Entry 1 is nowhere near enough on gauge control. She really aims for 3/5 to get Devastation, which is a pain to set up, and only really worth aiming for if you have Bede or SS Wally as partners. And Bede necessitates a support that grants speed, they're painfully slow together. I've talked before about how I really like Diantha's 4/5 grid, I think Recharging Strike 9 and Satisfied Snicker are fantastic together for this Devastation approach. But I also admit that's a really high investment. Diantha can be good, but she takes a lot to get there. The rarity of a good Fairy damage dealer continues to work in her favor.
Steven's actually not bad as an investment, because Aggravation at 3/5. I know that's kind of a small benefit, but it's nice to have it on your main damage move. 2/5 gets him Recuperation and Tough Sync 3, which are fine. It also gets TM MPR, which means repeated application of Endure after he's mega evolved. Which can be clutch sometimes. I'd say he's alright, but admittedly, I...never use him.
To a degree I'd say it depends on your roster. If you're missing a type, none of them are bad for their damage type. I think Red offers the least based on oversaturation. Diantha's the highest reward but the highest investment for it. Blue is good and I like the kit generally, so he's pretty safe, but doesn't need more than 2/5 unless you plan to EX and sync with him. Steven's not strictly bad but his grid offers surprisingly little compared to what he wants. So like. For normal people, probably Blue? Lower investment for a pair that does a respectable job? I've used him with Roxanne and Lodge Steven for fun off-type Rock shenanigans at 2/5 non-EX, so like. He does alright for himself.

So MrsTooHot - who are your faveourites so far? I might be head over heels for Alex already, but I’m really loving Theo as well. Sarah is drop dead gorgeous & definitely has a sweet core to uncover, & Marisa is already sweet & beautiful on the outside (with no doubt more underneath too)
Gosh, it’s so wonderful to have multiple viable options amongst the genders. Not just “here are all the men for your female m.c”. But multiple ladies, Alex my non binary boo 💕, and we the m.c can be male or non binary too. I am LOVING all this representation 🏳️‍🌈
I’ve seen a lot of complaints that too many people are into m.c, and yes it’s a bit ridiculous, but better than the alternative (cue s5 LITG war flashbacks). I am seeing some interest amongst other contestants (Sarah and Dakota definitely 👀, maybe Liam & Marisa, possibly Alex and Henri?). So I’m predicting/hoping we’ll soon see the characters we’ve not shown significant interest in pairing off soon (including with the upcoming bombshells)
I think the 27 possible endings mean we can also end up with two of the bombshells (probably one male, one female), and that there will be three ending variations per contestant. What do you think?
-Alex anon (again, jeeze I’m just loving this game, hope I’m not spamming you too much 😆)
Oh me oh my, I am having serious FOMO with this game.
My first playthrough, I was SO drawn to Alex. They're so freaking cute, I love their whole vibe, so chill and sweet urghhh. But I quickly fell into the dicksand with Theo (hehehe) and have been trying to avoid him ever since.
Theo is a seriously bad influence on me.
Also trying to avoid Sarah, I've been toeing the line with her way way too much. I've restarted a few times, flirting with Liam as well, but I'm not sold on him yet - a few people are saying he's got a really sweet route so I'll have to see how they're liking it further down the track.
Right now I'm on a Henri route, oh my good lord he is just sweeter than sugar, but damn he's got a very sexy side that I didn't expect EEEEE, just because he's a little dumb and very sweet doesn't mean the man doesn't know what he's doing in bed muahhahaha.
For the girls, God, I want Sarah and Marisa so bad. I'm not super feeling Dakota, idk, she just doesn't interest me that much. Who knows though, I might be wrong and she'll turn out to be really cute, I know she's already got a couple of superfans.
I can't wait to see how all the endings go!!!!!!!! EEEEEEE
And no you're not spamming!!! But you should join the discord in my bio, everyone's fanning and stanning over the characters in there it's so great!!

Actually, DS9 is pretty much the only show I have watched where I have had opinions on ships besides “I hate them” or “They seem good for each other so I GUESS it’s fine but I’d rather look at something else.” These are as follows:
Most of the canon endgame ships, including Jadzia and Worf because I think getting married and remaining married until one of you dies counts as endgame, are actually pretty cute and I did not hate watching them (this is high praise for a ship coming from me). My favorite of them from a character standpoint is Ben and Kasidy, which tbh is also the only one I wasn’t immediately irritated by when it first started. The others I was annoyed with at first but eventually came around to, and ultimately they are mostly pretty well written too.
The only major canon ship I REALLY DON’T like at all is Ezri and Julian. I feel like they will commit so many medical ethics violations because due to lack of other providers they are literally each other’s doctor and therapist and both have a HISTORY of committing medical ethics violations when treating people they are close with (Ezri just generally, Julian specifically with romantic interests). Also it was so forced and rushed. Maybe it could’ve been fine if they’d had like an entire extra season to flesh it out but I would honestly have preferred if they just didn’t do it at all. Also I feel like poor Ezri should’ve gotten like a year to just exist and figure out her issues before being shoved into any relationships AND before returning to work as a therapist because holy shit she fucked up administering therapy so bad so many times.
The one non-canon ship I most think should have been canon if the writers had dared to because it would’ve actually worked really well is the O’Brien polycule. Miles and Keiko clearly care about each other a lot yet have kind of an unstable relationship as it is, but every time they bring a third person into it, it seems to help significantly. They should stay married but Miles should also date Julian and Keiko should also date Kira who is also dating Odo. I think this would eliminate like 90% of drama in these characters’ relationships and generally improve station morale.
Julian and Garak was fun when I was watching the show and discussing it with friends, I guess I would’ve liked to see it in the show if it was handled well because they have an interesting dynamic and it would’ve presumably put an end to the parade of really insufferable “Julian has a crush... on DAX and/or a GIRL WE NEVER SAW BEFORE” events, but at this point I have seen way too many out of character incorrect quotes posts about it clogging the tag and so now I’m kind of tired of it. I get the appeal but let’s post about something else sometimes. Alternatively, let’s make posts about the ship that incorporate the characters’ actual personalities even a little bit. Either is fine.
Quark and Odo should NOT date because Odo would not treat Quark right and Quark would not treat anyone right. Quark wants a relationship so bad but I think he is just way too much of an asshole to everyone he cares about and should be banned from romance forever, sorry Quark. However, and this is crucial, the ship is such an incredible comedy setup that I am still generally happy to see posts about it anyway. “Quark and Odo try dating but they are really bad at it and have a nasty breakup” would also have been a viable episode plot and a fantastic addition to the “Quark fucks up an attempt at romance really bad” episode collection.
Sisko and Dukat is a terrible ship if it’s requited, because Sisko not only deserves better than that but also has too much of a moral backbone to ever even consider dating a person who sucks as bad as Dukat does. HOWEVER, it is funny when people write Dukat as having just an absolutely doomed and miserable one-sided crush on Sisko, who just straight up hates him and has no positive feelings towards him at all. And honestly? Considering what we know about Cardassian flirting and what we know about the horrendous way Dukat treats women he canonically has massive unrequited crushes on, you could make a good argument that "Dukat has a massive unrequited crush on Sisko and is handling it so badly and that’s at least partially why he did this” is a valid read of several of his actions in the show.
I have no real interest in a ship between Jake and Ziyal for its own sake; it’s been boring in every way I’ve seen it presented even though one could in theory do interesting things with it. HOWEVER since the writers were so determined to introduce weird fucking horrible to watch romance subplots for these characters (all of which were thankfully brief, but like, still awful), I think it would’ve improved the show if they were in a relationship simply by virtue of the fact that they were around the same age.

What are some examples of successful token projects?
In the world of cryptocurrency and blockchain, there's something called token projects. These are digital projects that are developed by crypto token development companies that use a special kind of technology called blockchain to create tokens. Tokens are like digital coins or assets that can represent ownership of something, like a piece of software or a digital collectible.
People create token projects to raise money, make decentralized apps (which are like computer programs that run on many computers at once), or create digital assets that can do different things. For example, some tokens might let you access a certain service, like a membership to a website, while others might be used to buy and sell digital goods, like virtual art.
So, in simple terms, token projects which are developed by token development companies that will be offering crypto token development services,  are a way for people to make and use digital stuff using blockchain technology.
Ethereum (ETH)
Ethereum is like a big playground for creating digital stuff called tokens. It's famous for being the first place where people could easily make smart contracts, which are like digital contracts that automatically do what they're supposed to.
Lots of successful token projects have been born on Ethereum because it has strong technology and a lot of people using it. One popular type of crypto token on Ethereum is called ERC-20 tokens. These tokens follow certain rules set by Ethereum, which makes them work well with different wallets and places where you can trade tokens.
The perfect token development company will help and explain how to create a crypto token and launch it on a successful platform.
Binance Smart Chain (BSC)
Binance Smart Chain (BSC), launched by the popular cryptocurrency exchange Binance, has quickly gained traction as a viable alternative to Ethereum. Known for its low transaction fees and high throughput, BSC has attracted numerous token projects seeking scalability and cost-effectiveness. Projects on BSC commonly utilize BEP-20 tokens, which are analogous to Ethereum's ERC-20 tokens. Notable examples include decentralized exchanges (DEXs), yield farming platforms, and non-fungible token (NFT) marketplaces.
Polkadot:
Polkadot is known for its special way of connecting different blockchains so they can work together smoothly. This makes it easier for different blockchains, like Ethereum or Bitcoin, to talk to each other and share information.
In the world of Polkadot, successful token projects use its special structure called parachains to make their customized blockchains for specific purposes. These projects often come up with new and cool features, like making it easy for different blockchains to work together or making sure everything is super secure.
Cardano:
Cardano is a blockchain platform that's famous for being built based on scientific research. People are interested in it because it focuses on being able to handle lots of transactions, making sure it's sustainable in the long run, and being able to work well with other blockchains.
Token projects that do well on Cardano get to use its strong technology and the fact that it's based on research that's been checked by experts. Tokens made on Cardano have low fees for transactions and can handle lots of transactions at once, which makes them good for many different uses.
Conclusion:
In summary, successful token projects are crucial for driving innovation and adoption in the blockchain world. Nowadays, there are many crypto token development companies offering token development services evolved to make a perfect token since the crypto token development concept has become more popular.

The problem is way too many people either think - or know better, but want you to think - that the Venn diagram of shitty policy is like this-
Tumblr media
When in fact it's like this-
Tumblr media
Full overlap. It's not "American deaths OR non-American deaths, pick one", it's "so, you're watching and sharing control of a bus that's hurtling over a cliff, you have 5 minutes to choose - will it be better to crash it into a busy campground? Or through a hospital that will collapse ONTO the campground, a busy shopping center, a load-bearing pillar holding up a huge chunk of the densely populated city you live in, then finally an oil refinery, which will explode and run off into the water supply and pollute the planet for decades to come? There are allegedly third options, but none of them are actually viable if you're being even remotely honest with yourself, and there are a LOT of people who really want to do the latter for some reason already tugging on the wheel."
This is what we mean when we say that voting is damage control. It is not the be-all and end-all. It is to societal improvement as breathing is to staying alive - FAR from all you need, but one of the fastest ways to fuck yourself if you stop doing it, or worse, lose the power to do so. Which is a risk this cycle! Voter disenfranchisement is a big deal battleground tool of the far right! I'm always hearing cynical takes about how "if voting worked they'd make it illegal", but the counterpoint to that - if voting DIDN'T work, they wouldn't be trying to do exactly that; why else would 2023 have seen a near record number of voter restrictions proposed and enacted? Hell, why would January 6 have happened?
I want everyone who SERIOUSLY thinks "oh, we SHOULDN'T vote because BOTH parties are bad, and anyone who says otherwise doesn't care how many people die as long as they get theirs" to ask themself, as seriously as possible - how likely do you think it is that we'll have a functioning alternative system in, at the time of this writing, 9 months? What are you doing to achieve that goal? What will you do if Trump gets reelected and ramps up police activity to make even your keyboard activism enforceably illegal? Your entire existence? Because that's a big part of what they're trying to do! Do you realize that the system doesn't void the results if turnout is too low? That a significant contingent of right-wingers religiously - literally - vote for ANYONE running with an R on the ticket? Do you think abstaining - and thereby allowing that contingent to go uncontested - will save a SINGLE non-American life?
It won't.
Voting against that won't save the world, no, just like breathing won't save you if you decide to never eat or drink or move from your bed again, but if you DON'T do it, then be honest with yourself - you're fucked no matter what else you do or don't do.
Voting is to buy time so we CAN dismantle the system and rebuild it better, because one side wants to kill us all preemptively to fortify it.

What to Look for When Investing in a Multi-Family Unit
If you wish to invest in a multi-family property, you need to think about some of the aspects that make this type of investment practical. These considerations include location, the number of units, ownership, and the effect of interest rates on the property's value. You'll also need to decide whether you want to manage the property.
One of the most significant considerations when purchasing a multifamily unit is location. It has a lot to do with the property's resale value. As a result, before signing any contracts, you should carefully assess your options.
Multifamily properties provide excellent financial returns and might help you balance your mortgage payments. They do, however, have advantages and disadvantages. If you are new to the multifamily investing environment, you should do your homework to ensure that the property is a good fit for you.
In general, you want a multifamily property in a bustling neighborhood. These locations are frequently more desired, in addition to giving a high ROI. A desirable location can provide a variety of amenities, ranging from entertainment and restaurants to public transportation.
Multifamily homes are an excellent choice for people looking to invest in real estate. They offer greater options for passive income and can house large families. In addition, the costs are usually lower.
There are numerous financing alternatives available. To begin, conventional loans are available at the majority of banks and credit unions. For people with a higher credit score, this may be a viable choice. A VA loan, which has government backing, is also available to you.
If you intend to live in your multifamily property, you may be eligible for an FHA loan.
This loan is intended for borrowers with low-to-moderate incomes. It also has fewer conditions than a traditional loan.
One advantage of owning multifamily real estate is that you can be involved in more than one property, decreasing risk. However, competition for these properties can be severe, so make sure you get your hands on a good one before it's too late.
Similarly, you'll want to keep your landscaping tidy and your tenants satisfied. This could include providing a non-cash incentive to extend a lease. The best time to request a rent reduction is during the off-season.
When it comes to real estate, multifamily housing isn't for everyone. Some people may be unable to purchase a new apartment or condo, or they may have an existing one on which they are currently paying the mortgage.
As interest rates rise, the sale of multifamily unit investments may become more difficult. Nonetheless, many investors are still eager to bet on this sector's long-term potential.
The multifamily real estate industry has historically stayed stable through all economic cycles. This is due to its excellent fundamentals.
One of the primary reasons for this is investors' ability to obtain low-cost finance. This makes investing in apartment buildings easier and more affordable for a wider spectrum of people.
Interest rates have been near historic lows in recent years. As a result, prices have skyrocketed. The same can be said for the multifamily housing market, which has resulted in pent-up demand.
Investing in a diverse portfolio allows you to protect your investment from market volatility. It is also a tactic that can assist you in increasing your returns.
Diversification is a continuous process. You must continue to analyze your portfolio and make changes if you see that the risk level is no longer in line with your objectives.
If you are saving for retirement, for example, you may be less likely to invest in a stock-heavy portfolio. Instead, consider adding multifamily housing.
Commodities are another type of item you can include in your investment portfolio. These have a lower correlation with stocks and may help your portfolio grow even if the market is down.

PYTHON
PYTHON
Regardless of whether they are from a technical or non-technical background, most individuals have heard of the programming language Python. However, if you're curious in what Python coding is and how it works, let's start with a straightforward illustration. Have you ever completed an online form fast because your address, phone number, and other details were saved on your system? I'm happy to see you utilised Python. This programming language has several typical use cases that are dispersed across our daily lives. Thus, it is accurate to state that Python is ingrained in our digital worlds.
What Python is may be answered in a number of ways. It is a programming language, to start. It may be categorised as a fourth-generation programming language in terms of timeframe. Python is a high-level programming language that has a very simple syntax and permits syntactic reuse. This makes maintaining web structures built with Python really simple. Additionally, Python employs a "glue" language to link parts of various data structures and allows dynamic semantics. Python essentially makes it possible for many of our contemporary digital experiences, such as using Over The Top (OTT) streaming services or adding products to a shopping cart on an e-commerce website.
One of the fundamental programming languages used for web development is Python. It provides complex content management systems like Plone and Django CMS as well as frameworks like Django and Pyramid, micro-frameworks like Flask and Bottle, and micro-frameworks like Flask and Bottle. Python is a viable alternative for web development since it also supports a number of well-known internet protocols, including HTML and XML. One of the features that may be investigated with this programming language is automation.
Python is an excellent place to start if you're attempting to learn how to code for the first time. Python is really basic and straightforward to learn, making it a great language for beginning programmers. Python is a key component of the majority of educational institution curricula's breadth.
Python is a fourth-generation programming language, as we've already said. In the Netherlands, at Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica (CWI), Guido van Rossum created it in the late 1980s. In computer circles, a fun fact regarding this coding language is frequently mentioned. It goes like this:
