so bizarre to me when people give fiona a redemption arc like making her evil wasnt literally like the fundamental core of making her an actually interesting character. like . ok actually i was mostly planning on just leaving the post as this but im going to make a proper post whining about this because ive seen it far too often for my liking.

it appears to me that a lot of people do this because they dislike fiona/scourge which is like. sure i get it. but you could literally just... break them up . and have her continue being awful on her own. like scourge is not the reason she switched sides and i find the idea. 1) a bit misogynistic frankly but thats more of a personal gripe than anything else like god forbid a woman make bad choices of her own volition and not because a man forced her hand into doing it (YES i am aware that abuse makes this more complicated than that but also we .... already have a relationship in archie sonic that fits this exact bill. yes it wasnt written well but the wonder of fan works is that you can always make it better. so why are we repeating it again 1:1) and 2) demeaning to the point of her character.

like. ok. lets go over the facts real quick. as a kid fiona got put in robotnik's salt mines and got accidentally left behind bc sonic & co couldnt find her. she realized that nobody was going make the effort to go save her, so she dug herself out and started life on the run as a treasure hunter/thief. she didnt ever really accept the fact that sonic and mighty not saving her wasnt really their fault, and even after becoming a freedom fighter, nobody ever said anything or apologized or said "hey wow that kind of sucks you went through all that". she never really made any actual friends within the ff or formed any meaningful bonds. she starts dating sonic, but its pretty clear that the only reason they're dating is that she's his rebound post The Slap. the moment her history with bean & bark came up - after she used that knowledge to save everybody - sally immediately turns on her and sonic is the only person to try to stick up for her. as bark and bean leave, bean also insinuates that fiona isnt really a freedom fighter, and that she's still basically one of them.

fiona is a "bad" trauma survivor. when i say "bad" i mean in opposition to the ideal tumblr trauma survivor - the sad poor uwu bean whose trauma only inclines them hurt themselves and they become more sympathetic kind etc. as a result. fiona, on the other hand, blames sonic (whose fault this is, frankly, not) for her experiences, and becomes more jaded and mean. she has no real support system and people repeatedly tell her that she hasnt changed and that she wont change and she cant change. shes already got all this baggage by the time her relationship with scourge starts carrying actual weight - he's offering her a way out. if none of them are ever going to really accept her being "good", then she might as well just give into her worst impulses and join hands with scourge, who, notably, has no stake in this - he doesnt have any obligation to be her friend like the freedom fighters, and more than that he likes her specifically because of the part of her that everybody else hates. the important part here is that he encouraged her to switch sides, he didnt make her switch sides.

id say fiona's character in a writing sense is an exploration of the failings of the freedom fighters to support a trauma victim, and how those failings, while unintentional, lead that victim to specifically turn against them. she says "ok actually screw all of you guys" and gives up on trying to be good because nobody ever gave her any real encouragement and decides to put herself on a path of self-destructive revenge and inflicting her misery onto the general population. we can also recall at this point that this motivation is entirely removed from scourge and you can literally break them up and still keep her evil.

the other important point here is that she purposefully chose that path of turning evil as opposed to leaving the freedom fighters or going somewhere else or like literally doing anything else. she literally could have just left but she did not and thats what makes her Interesting. prompted by her unhealed trauma and personal baggage she made those bad choices for herself, and frankly i cannot for the life of me understand why people think that walking back that character development (and yes i mean character development. character development can also mean getting worse) for ..... what. snarky but with a heart of gold generic protagonist girl? come on guys

people have been arguing about whether shes pure evil or an innocent baby for like 14 years straight. nobody can fathom that shes NEITHER. like yes she is a product of her environment and the reason she killed all those people was because her spider mother was forcing her to and also due to her position in society she was encouraged to act that way and was literally a 13 yr old child just doing what was expected of her by the world around her so it isnt her fault for being in the role she was raised to be in when she didnt know there was any other option. that being said shes also just kind of a dick and put stairs in a paralysed guys house even though she knew that was a cruel thing to do cus she thought it was funny. like shes a child thats a product of her environment and she did a lot of awful things but a lot of it can be explained by the fact that she had a neglectful literal giant spider as a mother and that she was also being manipulated by an omniscient cue ball god to hurt her friends. but that doesnt EXCUSE how she acted and many of the things she did were just cruel and unnecessary like how she treated tavros. so in conclusion she is NOT an evil irredeemable bitch because she’s literally a preteen when she does all of the bad stuff + when she was messaging john she finally was away from alternian society and could finally reflect on how killing made her feel and how she realised she didnt enjoy doing it even though it was what was expected of her. HOWEVER she also isnt a sweet angel because it doesnt EXCUSE her actions it just explains them, she still did cruel shit and hurt people and acted selfishly etc… putting vriska in a box is a huge disservice to her as a character because shes like one of the most important characters in the story because of the way she’s constantly trying to steal the spotlight and insert herself into the story etc but instead of people doing any kind of interesting analysis on one of the most complex characters in the story they instead argue for a decade and a half about whether or not she did anything wrong… which goes against the whole point of her role in the story

It's ALWAYS the beef between people saying he's actually a monster and the ones saying "he's just a kid and he never did anything wrong in his entire life". The first ones won't accept the fact that Gon is kind with his loved ones. That he's hurt and did bad things when he was hurt. That he cares for his friends. That he is naive and really acts as a child. That the monster he is inside isn't ALL that he is – only a part of what he is. That a big part of how he acts was caused by the fact all of the adults in his life never saw the red flags and pushed him to keep acting like that because "haha quirky kid". The second ones won't accept the fact that Gon is selfish – it's literally said multiple times in the canon that he is but you know, selfish is an "actually bad flaw that only bad people have so he can't be". They won't accept the fact that his naivety is the thing that makes him morally grey because he can't tell the difference between good or bad. That he doesn't really care for anyone except him and his friends / family. That he was literally called a monster, canonically. That he would destroy the world and then himself with no hesitation because he's hurt. That him being young is, yes, a point, but that doesn't mean he's "just a little angel uwu". That's simply NOT how his character is written. The worst problem I think, is that none of these people seems to acknowledge the fact Gon is supposed to represent the yin part of yin and yang (while his best friend, Killua, represents the yang). Gon is supposed to be "in light there is darkness". How the light can actually be monstruous, maybe more than darkness, but it is still light. While Killua is supposed to be "in darkness there is light" and how darkness can be pure, maybe more than light, but it's still darkness – they seem to get the yang part more for some reasons ? The yin and yang analogy is my favorite trope ever and it's so sad to see this fandom watering it down because they won't accept the fact Gon is morally grey.

Luzs main problem is that she puts everything on herself. Every problem that pops up is something she has to solve on her own bc she doesnt want to be a burden on her loved ones. She does a book report with live snakes bc she thinks itll take the stress off her mother worrying about her grades. She nearly gets blasted to bits by the blights to get gus and willow unexpelled. She brushes off her grief over her father so Amity can focus on her own problems.

It's kind of like how hunter thought in s2 and early s3, but luz isnt so jaded that she consciously recognizes this. "This is tangentially caused by me so its all my fault" and "Im just as bad as belos because im doing similar things to him" are her ways of explaining this mindset to herwelf because deep down, even luz doesnt know what the root of her problem is. These are logical fallacies that are easily broken, but luzs actual problem is her fear of burdening those she loves. Unless she addresses this, she will just come up with a new fallacy to keep with this mindset.

Luz told eda that it was her fault her magic was gone, so shes been a burden and needs to put herself in danger to make money for the family. Eda does talk about how luz should depend on her, but she mostly focuses on telling luz she isnt a burden. And its true! Eda views luz as a net good in her life! But luz still views herself as a burden.

Luz says that her grief over her dad is no big deal because she wants to help amity. Amity says that no, it is a big deal and shell help luz grieve. And amitys right. It is a big deal. Luz thinks so too. Its just that she doesnt want anyone else to be brought down by her personal isues.

Luz thinks because she helped phillip find the collector, that its her responsibility to atone for everything. Her friends and mother assure her that it wasnt her fault, and even if it was, its okay to make mistakes. But even if luz knows all that, she still thinks of herself responsible for defeating belos. Her friends who want to help are just tagalongs that she needs to do all this for.

Finally, luz questions if killing belos would make her as bad as him. The titan assures her thats not the case. Luz is nothing like belos because her intentions are good. Luz knows this. She says this in kings tide and says something similar every other time she gets to banter with belos. Maybe she doesnt believe what she says in some of the more stressful scenes but at least in the finale, luz understands this.

And then the titan grants luz their power. He gives her their hope of defeating belos and makes her responsible for the fate of everyone on the boiling isles. Luz gets help from king and eda in mastering her power, but otherwise she is the gamechanger in the fight, the one who deals the most damage. She accepts that she needs to be the one to defeat belos, and most of her friends dont get the opportunity to share in her burden by helping.

When belos spews his nonsense about how luz is evil for not helping him, she doesnt respond because shes known its not true for a long time. The titan just confirmed it for her. But luz is still shouldering the burden of saving the isles. With help from barely any of her loved ones.

The solution to luzs fear of burdening the people she loves is for her loved ones to show that its okay. To be loved is to be someone elses burden and share someone elses burden in turn. If luz cant do something, someone who cares about her can help her do it. Or do it for her.

In thanks to them, luz puts herself in danger to save hunter from belos, but hunter and flapjack were ultimately the ones who defeated him. In for the future, luz couldnt stave off kikimora on her own, so the students at hexside do it for her. In watching and dreaming, luz was killed by belos. In return, she was rewarded with the power to defeat him with almost none of her friends to help. She is still bearing most of the burden on her own, same as the start of the show.

everytime i open tumblr, the world rolls a d20 and if it succeeds im forced to see someone trying to argue that bramblestar isnt abusive or that squirrelflight is the one that perpetuates the abuse, actually

i like bramblestar/claw. but i can also recognize that while he isnt a villain, he sure as hell does bad things. the main issue i have with him is that his actions have been written so consistently that it has become a facet of his characterization. theres no longer the excuse of: "here goes erin hunter with another inconsistency!" once is a mistake, continuing on from 2005 to the release of thunder is... not a good look. it started in the new prophecy when he was angry at her for being annoying and continued through hawkfrost, the secret, omen of the stars, squirrelflight's hope and as recently as thunder. (i dont remember what happened in avos)

the main issue for both squirrelflight enjoyers and bramblestar fans is squirrelflight's hope. im not going to sugarcoat it, bramblestar is straight up manipulative, controlling and dismissive in this book. when i finished reading it for the first time, it caused me (and probably others in the fandom) to look at their relationship in previous books from a new perspective. yeah, she'll play a role in their conflict but does that mean she deserves the shit she goes through? no.

one other point i dont like about bramblestar is that the writing surrounding him never calls him out for what he does, in-universe and in the writing. it always finds a way to skirt around him and never places him at fault. at the end of squirrelflight's hope when he apologizes to her in the medicine den, he says:

" WE should never have let things get so bad." shifting some of the blame onto squirrelflight as if she played an equal role in the events of the book. yes, they held different positions on the sisters that drove them into opposition but this comes after he uses his superiority in an attempt to silence her and take away her independence.

i get it, i like him too, but you can like him without feeling the need to justify him to yourself, or try to downplay his actions by saying "he wasnt THAT bad". but as soon as you try to say these things, you begin to contribute to the issues that surround bramblestar.

Shenzi isnt ignorant of the Circle of Life like the Lion Guard would think she would be and the same could presumably be said of her clan.

The desolate nature of the graveyard (I think) is due to the sheer number of hyenas that were there and for how long. After the fire when Nyota ( @worldclassmenageriie ) ended up there alone without the rest of the clan, the graveyard started to grow.

It wasn't the Shadow Clan's fault they had no food there. No "disrespecting the circle of life" by the hyenas

Shenzi believes everything is born, and everything dies no matter if that is by the savannahs seasons, jaws of a hunter, or the grips of illness. No one is spared or granted mercy by judgement of age or species, everyone is equal in that they will die sooner or later.

The lion guard's way of judging and protecting the "circle of life" makes no sense to her and feels like another excuse of pushing lion's prejudice on other predators.

hunter: very big slugcat, almost unnaturally so. a little skinny cause having the rot is no good for your health :( i dont have many headcanosn for hunter but ithink they have poor sight , completely blind in their canonically scarred eye which i think it was overtaken by the rot. the reason they can hold spears isbecause they have tendrils of the rot growing out of their back and wrap the spears around if that makes sense. square shapes mostly. a bit stocky, more muscle than fat. quiet, stern, and rarely takes risks. a bit lethargic from the rot eating away at them. journey < destination. glass half full

gourmand: THE best rainworld character *THE BEST* i think aboutthem alll the time ohohoo o RUBS CLAWS TOGETHER IGOT A TON OF SHIT. ok ok so basically they r THE ultimate slugcat . u guys know that one post about gourmand having the power to throw spears with the strength of a missile being shot. i cant remember if that was the exact wording but YEAH that was my exact idea of them they are incredibly inventive and smart and STRONG AS FUCK. they throw spears with *three times damage* than the average amount and that s FUCKING insane they kill so many creatures in literally one single hit man you cannot tell me that isnt Ridiculous. like no wonder they get exhausted after that?? god DAMN??? i straight up forgot what i was writing about in this post ilove gourmand too much OH RIGHT HEADCANONS . well for one they r surv and monks parent . due to ahving explored pretty much every corner of the region, they know a significant amount of rain world's history, just by piecing it together themself! very wise, emotionally. very strong morals and very strong will! they are surprisingly humble despite their incredible feats, but arent afraid to show confidence when needed. they are a friendleader forreal, they definitely know every slugcat in their colony by heart and are always there to cheer you up when u r feeling downl. good slug,best friend. knows a TON about fighting, very good at paw 2 paw combat i bet theyd spar with the little ones for fun sometimes :). already mentioned this but they r very kind and generous To a fault. a very competent leader but they do tend to take on too many responsibilities! i think they maybe stopped doing this when idk one day a scug in the colony saw them pass out from overexerting themself or some shit and then everyone started to pitch in after that. they are very grateful and a little embarazed. also when they lost monk and survivor i think the whole colony stepped up for a while to help while they were grieving (dunno if they were in the colony while losing monk and survivor, maybe losing them was what motivated them to keep pups safe IDK bare with me)) i think theyd be the eldest or second eldest of all the slugcats . they try to be fun with kids and are INCREDIBLY protective, letting no threat get within 100 feet of someone they wish to protect. they have been EVERYWHERE imean fucking everywhere. almost photographic memory, stores so much knowledge in that jineeeeeeourmos brain of theirs. boisterous/charismatic, welcoming, kind, and above all (despite the odds!), very happy with life :) mostly square shapes but theres some circles thrown in. . journey >>> destination. glass half full

artificer: surprisingly, an incredibly small slugcat. just over the average juvenile size (a little bit bigger than survivor, and smaller than pretty much everyone else.) incredibly thin. before losing their pups, they were significantly healthier and just generally happier. i think they always had their xsplodey shit but it was more like a snail, a loud pop of noise used by detonating their explosion fluid stuff to startle predators if that makes sense? but then after losing their pups and doing nothing but KILLING KILLING KILLING KILLING scavengers for cycles upon cycles, they neglected caring for themself - including eating. eventually, they became near spearmaster in size & were able to propel themself into the air with the blasts due to their near-nothing weight. most scugs groom themselves as to not have their short fur become overgrown and tangle, but due to artificer's l;ack of nutrients they probably dont have their fur grow alot (does that correlate? idk if eating -> fur growth BARE WITH ME) BUT. they have it grown just enough to tie spears to their back with it. its matted and tangled and is rock solid when you touch it. OH ALSO before losing their pups, they had light brown fur! but then it stained permanently with scavenger blood :) atleast in my hc haha. ALSO their scar isnt just over their eye it covers about half of the left side of their body, renderng them entirely blind and deaf in their left eye and ear. partially deaf in their right ear from all the EXPLOSIONS they hear all the time. covered and imeanCOV;ERED in scars, moreso than hunter. unhinged fucking CRAZYYYY other slugcats are scared shitless of them bt they have a soft spot for slugpups so they would hypothetically always try to remain semi-not-deranged when around one But they havnt met any without guardians yet bc i know theyd drop everything and adopt them (or maybe not, in fear of having past events repeat?). square and triangle shapes. journey <<< destination. glass half empty.

GUB GUB GBU i think out of all the slugcats i know the least about them BUT i love them all the same :) they r the MOST fun ever to play as! they strongly resemble a seal! their ears r almost nonexistent + they hv very short limbs and loooong whiskers. fat as FUCK (normal slug size) and incredibly fast they dart around like a bullet! actually pretty big, a little bit shorter than spearmaster (who is around saints size and a little shorter than gourman) big round fucking eyes and Surprisingly super quiet? usually just Stares......they radiate such a jittery energy youd think theyd talk alot (if scugs could talk) but no not really :) my cat is drooling on my arm thought id let you guys know . OK back to this ! very helpful and outgoing, a *little* nosy but out of genuine curiosity, always up to the task no matter how daunting. charming in their sillyfunny gooberific way. im sorry i dont have a whole lot here i wish i knew more about them :(( mostly circular shapes with some triangles. journey = destination. glass half full

spearmaster: very tall and VERY thin slugcat. pretty much all of their bodyweight is stored in their tail and you can. imagine how that i;s ! a bit lethargic from prety much having NO nutrients at all.. but to make up for it theyre pretty speedy and flexible as hell, they can bend their bones pretty much to fit into small spaces. also INSANE reflexes. pretty plain everywhere except their tail, you can very much tell they were Created. i think they are a bit irritable, but otherwise peaceful. tends to have tunnel vision when they are tasked with something to do, and are always wiling to help (i think most purposed creatures share this trait) they are pretty smart but have really bad memory i think. ALL triangles. journey < destination. glass is filled with water, what else are they supposed to think?

saint: second tallest (only a LITTLE taller than spearmaster). fluffy, curly, braided-in-some-parts fur. they have a faaaabulous mustache and FAAAABULOUS eye lashes. pretty thin, surviving as a vegan in a snow-covered world is difficult. their tongue works more like a chameleon tongue ithink ifthat makes sense? like they cant control it it just FWIP flashes out and sticks to stuff with barbs on the end. i do not know NEARLY enough about saint to say a single thing about them But ilove them theyre awesome. composed of pretty much all the shapes, maybe some diamonds in there too though. geometrical lookingikd ifthat maekssen8JURDTHJURDTIH. completely neutral on journey/destination and completely neutral on glass half full/empty.

Beacon had classes on lawyering. Ruby signs up to be a defense attorney in case her team ever gets into trouble, but is surprised when Cinder signs up to be a prosecutor.

“Are you sure this is a good idea?” Blake asked.

Ruby smiled a little as she tried to adjust her stance with her heels, knees shaking as she started to lose her balance a bit. “One of us has to know how to defend our team in case something goes wrong. And I can learn how to defend us in case we end up in any legal trouble.” 

Weiss sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose. “I can handle all of that just fine after we graduate. Besides, dont you think this is a bit extreme for yourself?” 

“Yeah, but as our team leader, its my job to make sure that we stay out of trouble.” Ruby paused for a moment. “Or… at least that’s what Professor Goodwitch tells us in leadership training. So I’m going to sign up to learn how to legally defend ourselves if anything comes up.” 

“And what kind of trouble do you really expect for us to get into?” 

“I mean, any mission we take has a chance of collateral damage that could be pinned on us if something goes wrong while trying to stop any grimm.” 

Weiss rolled her eyes. “Fine, you have a point.” 

“While I’m glad you thought this through, that’s… not exactly what I meant,” Blake said as she sat down. “I’m talking about dressing up like this for a mock trial. You know you dont need to do that, right?” 

Ruby paused for a moment as she finally managed to keep her balance in the heels she wore and looked over the dress she had on. “I-I wanted to look my best for this today. Even if it is a bit restricting.” 

Weiss shook her head. “You should get going now or you’re going to be late.” 

Ruby nodded and started to walk through the halls of Beacon as the sound of her heels clicking along the floor echoed around her. Of course she had felt nervous at the prospect of this kind of trail, even if it was just a mock trial, though another part of her felt relaxed about it. Just the idea of being able to keep her friends safe even away from grimm made her heart soar. 

The smile on her face started to fade as she made her way closer to the signup lists for the mock trial once she saw Cinder selecting her own name. “Cinder? What are you doing here?” 

“The same thing you are,” Cinder answered with a smirk. “Though, maybe on the opposite side. Someone has to keep huntsmen in check, otherwise they’ll be able to get away with everything they want.” 

“Yeah, but… that’s… that’s not the point of the class. Its so we can learn to keep ourselves out of legal trouble if the grimm-” 

“And that’s the issue, isnt it? Its never the huntsman's fault, only ever the grimm or the rogue hunter they’re after. Just like when you and your friends took Roman and that stolen mech to the freeway, putting people’s lives in danger just so you can stop him, right?” 

Ruby looked away for a moment, that particular incident still hitting her hard. It hadnt been her team’s fault that the fight moved its way to the highway, at least not completely their fault. There wasnt time to get him anywhere else and everything else had happened so quickly. “We… we didnt do that intentionally…” 

“And yet, here you are, unpunished for putting lives at risk.” Cinder grinned and pulled her hand away from the signup board. “If your plan to be a hero means putting innocent people at risk just so you can get your thrills, then maybe you’re not cut out to be one.” 

Ruby sighed and looked up at the signup board as Cinder left, her arm shaking as she slowly pressed the button labeled “Sign up” and pressed each letter of her name. Of course she wanted to be a hero, and part of being a hero was learning how to make sure to keep everyone safe, even when everything about the job is against her. With a deep breath, she finished entering her name and accepted putting herself on track to learn how to be a defense attorney, hoping to be able to learn more about defending her teammates’ actions if a job goes wrong. She had to make sure no one would get in trouble.

Pespillo’s post about how the fandom treats Hunter’s Belos-related trauma while ignoring the Collector’s to instead flatten them into funny iPad kid reminds me of how Luz’s trauma from Belos is also downplayed and ignored so she can be his best friend and therapist and the one person who gets him, meeting him on mutual ground as if the finale didn’t perfectly summarize why this is a terrible thing. Coincidentally, both Luz and the Collector are very similar in themes and motives and have their outgoing charm used as an excuse to ignore the legitimate depth going on beneath the surface.

also you are so right in clocking that, i did technically write something similar to the sentiment colly n luz are so similar here . but also like ive been thinking about luzs specific trauma n guilt related to helping belos n what is an actual fucked up underlying context here is that shes not JUST responsible for the nebulous acts of 'she was nice to him without knowing who he was n taught him a glyph n helped him meet the collector'. because its implied that belos NEEDED collectors help to get the draining spell started? and whats related to the draining spell? the whole coven system he started n enforced n all the domino n ripple effects that had on their society.

this, mind you, includes edas curse. hell it includes the whole drama in the clawthorne family. it includes also all the wild witches that were killed simply for resisting assimilation. it includes also all the kids bullied and tortured in subtler ways for being different. it includes probably his looking into the basilisks and yes, includes vee. it includes even all of the exhausted natural resources that were taken to fulfill his plans.

isnt that fucking terrifying? to know that actions you thought were selfless and just helping out another person, a person you looked up to even, and at some point you realized he sucked but not to HOW much he sucked... were actually setting up for a slow hellish imperialist reign that made the lives of so many people exponentially worse? that KILLED people? that WOULD have killed more? when it otherwise didnt leave them with fucked priorities and mental disorders??? and yet... we do know even if it was a ripple effect, it was still ultimately belos' fault. it was his n his decision alone to do all this with the small push luz gave him. and in the depths of her psychological despair, even then, luz is able to grasp at some hope that she can make things right, that she can make it up to the isles and its people. she HAS to. its the least she can do for them. but it then becomes equally important just how much every step of the way she is comforted by the people she has by her side telling her that they wont abandon her, that they know she messed up terribly, but that this does not necessarily make her irredeemable, and that the only path is forward, and through it all.

and most of all, she is allowed to look back, she is allowed to think slowly, she is allowed to seek comfort when she is suffering because this does not make her egocentric in her pain over her guilt, it just means she needs this healing so she can complete her journey. you can be of no use to others if you are constantly punishing yourself, after all. and ultimately also when papa titan offers her the perspective she was kind to her son even when she had no idea king was a titan, luz truly realizes another important truth: your bad deeds do not negate your good ones. theres no score or balance of sins vs virtues pending one way or another. one horrible mistake you made is just another action in the web of your life, where if you look in another direction, you have also done immense good with other actions.

and the good you do ripples as well. it isnt a coincidence that it was also another action of kindness, attempting to save collector, that even got her to the in between. luz was never a chosen one. but through an intricate web of choices to do good, specially to these two wonderful children, she ended up right where she needed to then take papa titans power and become his vessel to rid the isles of belos for good. isnt that poetic? isnt that beautiful?

collector is much of the same. in a way, you could say he was at fault for the titans going pretty much extinct. had his presence among the titans not alerted his siblings, they would have never been able to actively find and kill off the last titans. and these were a people collector cared about, he learned of their magic, he played with them, he admired them and their strength. just. gone. and because of him? if he ever realizes that, its going to be luz all over again. and i can imagine he already feels guilty just because of the draining spell and the whole puppet thing once he starts realizing that was bad by the end of s3. this could easily send him spiraling. and i wonder... it also feels i havent seen many people touch on that in fan works. oh well.

anyway. ahem. my point is i think belos would be a very terrible character for them to be around, i feel like theyre best both trying to heal from their respective trauma n finding good support networks. and also there is so much more to them to be explored. luz also has her trauma from bullying and loss of her father, n colly has, again, being stuck in the disc and having to rely on anyone who has it to try and get them to set him free, many of them being power hungry and treating him like an object, only wanting to use him. this does make their backstories differ quite a bit, as luz wants to belong somewhere where she can be herself without judgement and people being cruel to her, and collector on the other hand just needs to be free and have good figures guiding him again. they state this. luz wanted to be understood, collector wanted a friend who wouldnt use him or betray him.

Aro looked over at Peter, arching an eyebrow at the sudden demand. Peter glared, motioning with his hand for the damn phone that he knew Aro carried on his person.

“Why?” Aro asked and that only annoyed Peter more.

“I need to check something.”

“And what is that something?”

“I need to check on... someone.” Peter was not going to break, not yet, no. He just needed to know, he had been avoiding it this whole time, since he got access to his phone. He hadn’t spoken to Charley about this person, he would change the topic in their texts to one another, avoiding the subject at all costs.

But he couldn’t avoid it forever.

Aro removed the phone from his pocket, activating it so Peter could access the contents. He set the phone on a table and Peter was quick to open up apps, looking through things.

He found the unread messages in his texts, the unanswered calls. He opened up his internet app and he was sure the room was starting to turn cold now. He looked at calls first, seven unanswered, all with voice mails. He didn’t dare open those, he didn’t think he could handle hearing the voice.

Peter looked at the texts next.

Peter’s throat felt tight and he was sure he’s be struggling if he could breathe right now. He exited the messages and Googled the reaction to his death from his person. He found an article, someone had asked him about Peter’s murder, and the response was 

‘Can you not do that? I don’t want to talk about my boyfriend’s fucking murder!’

Twitter didn’t help, the guy hadn’t really been active on his personal account since the murder. The band’s was active, but the personal one didn’t say much about what happened. There was one post, made after Peter had made his silly little post on his own account after he got access to his phone again.

‘That’s not funny.’

“Did you find what you were looking for?” Aro asked and Peter looked up, then away.

He could see frost forming on the desk, Aro must be aware of what he’s feeling. “I’m taking the phone back, Peter.” He said, then slipped it across the desk, picking it up. “Is this who you were looking for?”

Peter snapped his head up, glaring, seeing that Aro was still looking at the opened app. “Thorne Jamison, a friend?” 

“More than that, give me my fuckin’ phone.” 

Aro pocketed it again, frowning at Peter. “A lover, perhaps?”

This only served to piss Peter off more. “Boyfriend, yeah, we were taking a break and were gettin’ back together when you decided to slurp my veins, you cunt.”

Aro made a face at his choice of words. “I was not made aware of this boyfriend of yours, in all the times you’ve spoke of what I took away from you.” He sounded irritated.

“Because I didn’t think you needed to know, my relationships are my personal business, not yours.”

“I think it’s my business now, considering our current situation.”

The room was like a freezer now, Peter was sure he was going to make it snow in here the longer he felt upset like this. He breathed through his clenched teeth. “I don’t want to look at you right now.” He said instead of all the things he wanted to scream.

He really didn’t want to, the similarities were weird enough as it was, but right now it really hurt to look at that vampire and his stupid, pretty face.

He left through the ceiling, ignoring Aro calling out to him. 

I would love if we could have had Gabe say sorry- like the scene on the moutain could have been both romantic and also a perfect time to apologize. Its not that hard!

I saw someone make a theory that the girl we met maybe a hunter using MC as a way to stir up problems. I mean that would be a epic twist, i mean if there are hunter i think they would feel like they need an actual reason to kill vampires.

On the flip side again I want MC to be a hunter. Just because the leader of the covens talk out of the corner of theur mouths so much it pisses me off.

Grimwalker!Luz: Hunter becomes like, super protective of Grimwalker!Luz. Make no mistake, losing Luz was hard on him. He felt like his heart was ripped out when she died. Yet when he looks at Grimwalker!Luz, he doesn't see the girl who once saw his face and told him he didn't have to be the Golden Guard. He sees a scared kid, unwanted by everyone but her creator, an uncomfortable reminder of a past person. When Hunter looks at her, he sees himself. And like hell will he let her get hurt.
