I just noticed, in your HHStargazers AU no one has pupils - except for Alastor and, if she's canon, Carmilla. Does that mean slit pupils are a sign of a demon in disguise?

Good eye! 👈👈👀 (Pun unintended.) Though I don't really plan for this trait to be repeatedly shared amongst the disguised demons. Mostly to not limit my designs to an obvious tell. But the slit pupils were indeed intentional flaws I added in for those two in particular. Because according to MY headcanon, both angels and demons are beings beyond human comprehension. Thus, it's only to be expected that even when they TRY to fit in, they'll be unable to keep EVERY aspect of their uncanny nature concealed. At best, they're imperfect imitations of what "normal" should be. It just so happens that in my AU, angels have a much easier time concealing most of their little quirks and oddities away than the sinners for my own reasons and as for WHY no one ever grew suspicious of the eye thing, it's because Charlie's curiosity could be easily curved. While for Lucius to point this out, he'll have to admit that he's been staring at Alastor's eyes a lot whenever he gets close enough to drown in the depths of his gaze and- EHEM!!! Which he's NEVER done, mind you! AhahaHAH- What slit pupils??? Never noticed those before. Nuh-uh. NO siree. NOPE! Lucius is normally so, SO normal about Alastors VERY much normal eyes in a TOTALLY normal amount of normal. A-ANYWAAAYS!!! Lucius would also be a hypocrite if he was bothered by them considering his own occupation and the people he's usually surrounded by (yet to be revealed). As for the other humans, Alastor doesn't care enough about their opinions for it to be a threat to him and people often just avoid the guy unnerving them with his creepy ass stare. So it's all good! Tubbo from the beginning was convinced that the server would leave him to rot, hes always done things to try and get people to favor him but they never work. Tubbo has fundamentally changed hes not as kind as he was.

Hes to the point hes trying to break apart a ship he was all down for. So the idea of just throwing Fred at him and they figure out the situationship that they have is just bad writing.

Bagi, pac, and fit all mean well they saw how happy he was talking about fred, so they think it would make him happy again. Like the idea of getting tubbo to spend time with mike is a waaay better plan then just make fred fall for him again.

Like it was very sweet of sunny trying to get fred to spend time with her pa but, what she didn't see is tubbo cringing and looking so uncomfortable, the awkward convo he and fred were having.

given how you're focusing on pay, I'm assuming you're a mercenary only in it for the money

and I should probably remind you that reunion is an activist group, not a paying organization

so chances are you'd get a better pay and benefits at Rhodes, but that does also come with the fact that you're working for a pharmaceutical company with messed up practices

so honestly it all depends on what you're fighting for:

if you wanna make a difference in the world, join reunion, cause we actually do stuff to do that

if you are a soldier of fortune (no judgment here), consider checking out Blacksteel Worldwide, I got a friend there who says they're always hiring, AND they do partnerships with Rhodes on occasion so you still have a shot at getting with you-know-who

Thinking about how eating as a theme is different in dungeon meshi and the locked tomb. but also how these two themes can intersect. in tlt, eating someone is horrific because you lose that person, but they also become you through your consumption. theyre never gone because they are with you. because now they *are* you.

this idea exists in dunmeshi as well, with distributing falin's dragon body amongst everyone, and distributing the dungeon amongst everyone. its eat or be eaten, know or be known.

tlt showcases the horror of that love, that which leads us to consume and take others into ourselves even after theyre gone. whereas dunmeshi shows the transformative power of being known through the act of consumption.

yes, they eat falin, but falin is still *here*. she is still here, and yet she is now known intimately by those who partook in the feast. even if some of them had never even spoken with her, there is now an untenable connection between herself and all of these people.

we see this even outside of the metaphor of consumption made literal. all of the characters, who previously mocked or derided or even secretly hated laios for his interest in monsters, do not then force him to conform to their standards. laios is not made typical by his companions, because their relationships are not the same as at the start. speaking and fighting with someone is a form of consumption too.

the longer that you spend time with another person, you start to take them into yourself too, no eating required. we borrow each other's phrases, we know their likes and dislikes, we can predict the others thoughts to something. we *know* someone, and we are known in them by turn.

My uncle died a few days ago, and today my grandma had a stroke and her organs are shutting down due to a blood clot. It's not looking good. At all. My grandma and I are close, so I'm not doing so well mentally. So yeah.. I'm not in anguish or anything, she's like 94, it was a matter of time. But still, not feeling too great.
