WIP Wednesday Game
It’s WIP Wednesday, time for a little accountability, sharing your work, and getting a kick in the pants.
Here’s how it works:
In a reblog of this post (so people can find you in the notes) or new thread (w/ rules attached) if you want to play on your own, post up to five (5) filenames of your WIPs; not titles, file names.
Post a snippet from one of them. Snippet must be words you wrote in the last 7 days. We’re posting progress here. If you haven’t made any, go make some and come back to play!
After you’ve posted, people can send you an ask with one of your file names. You must then write 3 sentences in that file. If the filename is one you can't share from (for example, an event or gift fic), write 3 sentences on it anyway, and then 3 more on another to share.
That’s it! You can invite others to join in, or just post. I’ll be searching the reblogs to find people to send asks to!

YES IM NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT FEELS LIKE JASON IS GONNA DIE AGAIN
but fr the way bruce said "why shouldnt i kill you!" in battle lines toward jason, then ripped him off his bike in catwoman 57 (with jason stressing heavily that it could have killed him) and now bruce brainwashing jason (batman 138) into literally being afraid whenever his heart rate rises or he feels adrenaline - which isnt just vigilante stuff, you feel adrenaline when you get excited or fall in love o feel angry. also constantly being afraid causes high blood pressure, increased chances for a stroke or heart attack ect,,, honestly there is SOOO much to suggest bruce is gonna kill jason, or at least have some part in it, im terrified
Okay so firstly spoilers for batman 138 bc honestly only started thinking about this when I saw the previews / leaks from the newest issue but yeah we see later on in that issue Jason is now constantly afraid so obviously the toxin Bruce spiked him with is just working constantly and it's negatively impacting his mental state I also started thinking about this bc another character asks Jason if he'd be interested in immortality which to me is a bit of a red flag that someone's gonna die but also could just be bc vandal is around either way something is going to happen to Jason by the end and I cant say I have enough faith in zdarsky at this point that it's gonna be good

in a turn of events that doesn’t surprise anyone im sure, @impishtubist has caused yet another scene to be stuck in my head until i wrote it down. so, have some sexy, greying sirius; a deeply thirsty, appreciative james who won’t let him dye it; and a very-fed-up-of-his-parents-antics harry for prongsfoot wednesday!

Harry entered the house with ‘I’m home!’ on his lips that died an instant death as soon as he registered what he was seeing.
“Er,” he hesitated. Does he really want to—? One more look at the scene in front of him and he decided to bite the bullet. Better to clear the air now than keep stewing on it later.
“Um. Is this a—kink? A fetish? Should I leave and never come back?”
In any other scenario, the way both his parents froze and looked at him with wide eyes would’ve been comical.
If only Dad wasn’t straddling his Papa on the ground, one of his hands holding both of Papa’s above him with disturbing ease.
“Er—“
“It’s not what it looks like, Haz!” Dad yelped, cutting across Papa who’s face and neck were turning a steady pink. “I swear.”
“Then why are you still—like that?” Harry asked, deciding to play it safe and look at the boring grey couch in the living room instead. Nothing scandalous going on there.
He could hear the scrambling of feet, a few thumps, and a mini-yelp, absently wondering about the amount of noise the simple act of getting up could produce.
“Right.” Dad cleared his throat. “So, Harry, would you please tell your Papa that he is, under no circumstances, allowed to dye his hair?”
Harry blinks, turning to his other, exasperated, father in silent question.
“Harry, will you please tell your Dad that this is my hair and I can do with it as I please?”
“Not when you promised yourself to me!” Dad yelps and Harry is hit with an intense wave of regret at instigating this.
“Promised—?”
“Yes! Our wedding, you said, and I quote, ‘I give myself to you, James Potter, mind, body and soul’, don’t tell me you forgot.”
“Of course I didn’t forget,” Papa throws his hands up in the air. “But c’mon James—this is not what I meant when I said body!”
“What, you think I only wanted you for that ars—“
“Dad!” Harry, yelps, mortified. He can feel his cheeks heating in a violent blush. He can feel a similar flush creeping up Papa’s neck. Sadly, his words don’t have the deterring effect he’d intended.
“I mean, it is spectacular, don’t get me wrong, but you’re more than just a beautiful body, Si!”
“James, please, have some mercy for our child, if not me,” Papa says. Thankfully, this seems to register as Dad’s eye widened, part horror and part apology. Harry waves it away tiredly; though he’s no less embarrassed every time it happens, growing up in the Potter household with two extremely affectionate parents has exposed him to much worse. He’s accepted it as his lot in life.
“Er—yeah, anyway,” he coughs, ruffling his hair, “Bottom line—Sirius isn’t allowed to dye his hair.”
“I literally never agreed to that.”
“Too bad because you will,” Dad says, slowly moving towards Papa with a look on his face that Harry is loath to describe as predatory. If only it wasn’t so true.
“Oh?” Papa’s left eyebrow rises extraordinarily high, as it tends to do quite often. He crosses his arms over his chest in challenge. The motion makes his Dad smile.
“Mhm.” The two of them are chest-to-chest by this point, staring into each other’s eyes. Harry could probably conduct a whole rave party right here, right then, and they wouldn’t even notice. That is when he decides it’s high time he should step in—not literally, Merlin, no—before they end up doing something that makes him try to run away (again).
“So I was right—it is a kink,” Harry says dryly, once again regretting starting this entire conversation in the first place. He should’ve just turned back around and gone to the Weasleys instead.
“Harry, no—“

Three years later, Harry—who’s almost blissfully forgotten about the entire incident—walks into his parents’ house to an almost identical scene, just with his Papa on top this time. This time, he makes the sensible choice he still regrets not making all those years ago, and walks right back out the door.
Let those two sort it out on their own. Merlin knows his intervention hadn’t helped a bit the last time around.

She bites back a grin. "It wasn't that bad."
"Goth panda clown, Amanda. Goth panda clown."
Amanda laughs out loud. He can't remember the last time he has ever heard that sound. If he's honest, he can't remember the last time they have ever really done this. Four years ago, he supposes. That's when their lives hit a sudden halt, with the whiplash to come to his senses. Sure, they have jam sessions, sometimes watch a movie together, but rarely much else.
He looks up at his sister, wonder if she is feeling the same way. After those stagnant years, he knows the answer.

Jason’s first thought — around the incredibly loud siren noise in his brain — is that Tim is too tall. He thinks it in the weird way that a person sometimes thinks a single rational thought in the middle of losing their mind, but still. Jason is certain that he’s an inch or two taller than he should be.
Taller-Tim frowns at the device in his hand, his eyes pinching in the corners. He shakes the thing once, twice, then taps it against his palm a few times, like maybe there’s something stuck in it.
“Damn it,” he mumbles, placing a hand on his hip.
“Tim?” Jason asks, his voice cracking right down the middle as the name slides out with the air that was stuck in his chest.
Tim’s head snaps up to look at him, and his face does something complicated. Not the kind of complicated that Jason is used to. Or, was used to. Before. Back when Tim was around to do things like look at Jason. Back when Tim was alive—
Nope. He hasn’t let himself think that for four months and he isn’t about to start now.
Especially not when Tim is looking at him.
(Look I know that the @ficwip word game wednesday thing is supposed to be one line but I’m physically incapable of sharing one line out of context. Something something my loss is your gain)

#I haven't watched any ql recently#but I've watched and read a bunch of other stuff. which is great!#i have thoughts on many of them that I've been wanting to write up. which i may or may not end up doing.#but for now i need to focus on getting myself and my house ready for the semester. which starts wednesday#anyways I'm still not sure what my presence on tumblr will be like going forward. but i don't want to disappear entirely.#I've been wanting to write but also making posts has been feeling like a Project. and I need to save my Project energy for school stuff.#so i may just end up popping in with posts like these every few weeks 🤷🏻♀️#rambling in the tags#which for some reason feels like a better fit for my thoughts right now#gillianthecat's life

Btw today is a month since this blog was shadowbanned 🥳🥳
#Uhm.#I don't have words#Anyways I was suspending the queue thinking the shadowban would be temporary (and exams)#but given it clearly isn't. temporary. and I have stuff to post / reblog I will probably resume it with February#(Well. not tomorrow because of the episode or the second because of the chapter–#but unless sskk goes canon or something the third shall be it)#Also because like. I miss sskk and there's too many sskk posts going from June it'd be too bad not to post#I'm mostly sorry for the Akutagawa side blog tbh? Like with this blog I kinda came to terms with the accomodation of keeping it reblogs–#focused and the other original posts centered.#Despite the initial trauma it isn't even that bad because before my original posts kept getting lost in reblogs so it's a nice solution!#(Wow I just realized. After all the pain I went through when this blog was first blocked‚ the last stage of grief really IS acceptance)#But the Akutagawa blog got shadowbanned like one week after creation and although I love running it and looking for pics.#Idk I wish it got a little more traction before disappearing to the void#But there's little I can do I guess. Trust me when I tell you I tried anything I can do– well‚ besides messaging staff every day#But how could I ever do that 😞#I feel my mental state deteriorating day after day and it's always harder to do things during the day#but it's okay tomorrow is Wungo Wednesday and that's sure to fix me <33#random rambles

coming out of my baldurs gate 3 delirium (aka i am working a night shift and can't physically play it. at work.) to say that horikoshi. horikoshi when i GET YOU. you are NOT leaving izuku with no quirk and no arms. i am in your walls
#bnha spoilers#also. more evidence that horikoshi read zero-sum game#like come on the twins thing the izuku losing his quirk thing the losing his arm thing the shiggy getting decay from afo thing#TELL ME THE TRUTH HORIKOSHI. DID YOU READ MY FANFIC.#i'm joking of course. he's just done a really good job of foreshadowing through the series. its a marker of an amazing author#and i know that izuku probably won't lose both his arms and his quirk. i fully expect it to be a happy ending in some way shape or form#this is a sixteen year old boy who sacrificed EVERYTHING. more than he ever had to give#and he had less than a year. ME. at worst i'm probably chaotic neutral.#its wild i'm already finding SO MANY new scenes i missed on the first playthrough even though i'm making a lot of the same choices#so it still feels super fun and fresh. more so now because i kind of know the characters and the mechanics better#my current playthrough i'm with lae'zel shadowheart and asterion with no intention of switching out

does anyone else think it's a little tired to headcanon autistic coded characters as aroace or...
#like nothing wrong with that once or twice but i'm noticing a pattern#this is kinda about wednesday#but also raiden from genshin has many autistic traits and is lesbian coded#but people say they see her as aroace crearly because of her autistic traits :/#it bothers me because it's so one dimensional and stereotypical#i do think luffy has both autistic traits AND is aroace coded for example but others??#izzy.txt#not disrespectful or mean i've just noticed the pattern#i want to say that ofc aroace autistic people exist!! but it's bad when people make this a pattern you know

okay my impression of the wednesday show & all the hype around it & the negative reaction to the hype: seems like a show made for younger teens but everyone is acting like it’s not a YA show
#tbh it’s crazy to me how many people have such strong opinions about it one way or the other#i mean it’s kind of a dumb way to adapt the addams family because they seem completely irrelevant to the plot#like it doesn’t really matter if the main character is wednesday addams or not? and it has a totally different premise#but also people acting like this is such a hugely different characterization of her than in other addams family media…..#or saying wednesday was never a well-liked character before this….. idk. untrue imo#90s wednesday was very similar and a lot of people grew up watching those movies#but anyway i would watch anything jenna ortega was in so. whatever#kind of a waste of time? but not in a bad way i guess#it was cute i liked some of the characters#too tim burton-y for my taste but w/e#wednesday netflix

ok so im cheating a little because i don't have many written wips but i do have unfinished projects sitting on my desk! so for those i'll be spending 10 minutes on it in place of writing 3 sentences

i feel the need to clarify that im outlining this bad boy right now and making event timelines and highlighting reoccurring themes and shit so the prose is Not Good. This ones an elaboration of a sticky note i wrote before bed one night, reformatted for readability because its literally just a block of text in the document gdskfjadaljfha
(listed right after “Season 2’s very long demodog-fighting tunnel-scampering day”)
STICKY NOTE: “Scene with Claudia and Dustin addressing Dustin lying in season 2, Mews, and their relationship. Probably before [the] hospital [scene]. Started about him disappearing all afternoon [and] segue[s] to Steve helping him and then to helping Steve because he has no one right now.”
Wanting to make sure to add this scene because Dustin's relationship with Claudia is just as if not more important right now than Steve's relationship. This is adding a reasonable and implied scene from canon and using it to establish and expand Dustin and Claudia's relationship by having this confrontation about him lying to her and all these things he's not telling her.
This establishes Claudia's need to know what's going on and how persistent she is with it, which will end up pushing Dustin away to Steve for more than just upside down stuff because of how casual Steve is about everything (like crushes and shit as we see in the train tracks scene in season 2).
Also Dustin's lie in the show is kinda shit anyway like he says he'll stay home and then runs off the whole afternoon??
They're also gonna have to address Mew’s death and Dustin's gonna give a half-truth (maybe Steve gives it since the show can't decide if Dustin is a good liar or not. Or its a cover story decided beforehand? We’ll figure out specifics later) about some rabid dog killing Mews and Dustin hiding it because he didn't know how to explain it without hurt his mother’s feelings and how he got Steve to help track the dog down so it wouldn’t hurt anybody else.
And from here Dustin talks about how cool Steve is and how he got hurt helping him and the party and how he wants to be there for him too (cause Steve is in the hospital for the concussion right now). Maybe Claudia picks up on the wholesome admiration and that's why she gives in or maybe she just agrees to take Dustin to visit him and seeing and meeting Steve makes her decide to take him in. probably a mix of both. Might have to be Dustin's pov if Steves not there but maybe it'll work out so where Steves there for part of it and the rest is implied afterwards at the hospital and days that follow (again we’ll figure it out later)
