regina spektor is a violent zionist, but i don't think it's constructive or honest at all for people to be like "well her art was always bad anyway." some terrible people have made great art. This idea that artists with unsavory morals can't make good art (1) only feeds into some people's mindset that if they dislike something, that MUST mean there is something ideologically wrong with it, and (2) some people then take longer to realize the true colors of their favorite artists because... good artists can't be ethically bad right?? and so they hang on to their faves and pretend they are so righteous and defend their every move when sometimes. sometimes you just gotta accept that your favorite art was made by somebody you don't agree with, and you have to identify how much you are willing to support someone like that and what lines you have that can't be crossed

Once Upon a Time drives me fucking insane because WHY is there so much wasted potential!!!! Jefferson just disappeared?? They turned August into a child and we like never see him again THEY COULD HAVE GIVEN HENRY A FRIEND LIKE HE ONLY HANGS OUT WITH HIS GRANDPARENTS AND HIS THERAPIST
Actually speaking of his therapist the POTENTIAL they had with Regina and Archie?? Like they were kinda cute and now they don’t even talk to each other like even as friends or anything?? WHY
AND GRAHAM he deserved sooo much better (no not his relationship with Regina pls never speak about that) RUBY TOO CAUSE WHY DID THEY DO HER LIKE THAT
But you’re telling me that 3 people in this town knew everything and they never talked to each other?? Why did Gold and Jefferson never talk in Storybrooke?? Like Rumple was literally the one to introduce him to Regina in the first place
AND WHEN GRAHAM WAS REMEMBERING WHY DIDNT JEFFERSON GET HIM? GRAHAM WAS LITERALLY RUNNING AROUND THE WOODS CHASING A MAGICAL WOLF like if Jefferson had gotten him on his side Emma might have been less inclined to think he was a psychopath
Same with August!! If he had literally talked to either of them things could have been fixed so much faster or they at least would know they’re not fucking crazy like make a little “in the know” club it could’ve been fun

do you have any hcs about Regina's diagnosis(and/or just realisation that she has) of autism + ADHD? like when it happened, how her parents dealt with it etc.
tysm and I love your hcs x
I think if she got diagnosed it had to have been when she was really young, before she learned how to mask fully
Anyone who's read my Regina character study knows I hc the George parents as awful so I don't think they would handle Regina's diagnosis well at all
They tell Regina she's not allowed to tell anyone because it would ruin their "perfect" image and put so much pressure on her to act "normal"
Alternatively, if we want to be slightly nicer, then maybe her mom is more okay with it then her dad and this is what ultimately splits their marriage. Because her mom disagrees with how her dad treats Regina which is why he's not in their life anymore
Regina probably buys in to the idea that there's something "wrong" with her and getting diagnosed just solidifies it in her mind, so she tries to just pretend it didn't happen and never gets any actual help in managing her autism/ADHD in healthy ways
This brings me back to my point that her meltdowns are always so intense because she spends so long repressing
I don't think Regina accepts this part of herself until post canon, when after the bus is gets impossible to hide with how stressed and in pain she is, but her friends are so understanding and they all try and learn about the best ways to help
She finally comes to terms with her diagnosis and starts to unmask around her friends eventually, and it's a whole learning process that she should've been allowed to go through as a kid but never did, so it's a lot of trial and error for her to figure out what works and what doesn't for her, and any potential triggers or stressors

Do you have Belle and Regina hc? I know they doesn't interact much so I can totally understand if you don't. But I think that if they would get over all the things that happened between them (most of them bc of Rumplestiltskin btw) they could get a long very well.
oh yeah absolutely! their relationship is actually so important to me <3
regina still feels guilty for what she did to her. but belle is one of the most forgiving people in existence and let’s regina know always that it’s ok. regina has changed, grown to be a better person, and there’s no point in being angry about a past no one can change. but it is something regina isn’t quite sure how to forgive herself for
which is maybe why she’s always there for belle. no matter what the case, no matter what’s going on
things between belle and rumple aren’t always perfect, so when they have arguments, belle shows up at 108 mifflin with gideon in her arms and regina is more than happy to let her stay in the guest room
and when belle starts a book club, she convinces regina to join. regina’s reluctant at first because while she doesn’t mind spending time with belle, she isn’t thrilled about being around a bunch of other people. but she ends up actually really liking it and looking forward to their monthly meetings
they’re the biggest readers in the family so they’ll update each other about what they’re reading and give each other recommendations
regina is actually the person belle goes to for parenting advice most of the time (and snow) because regina may have made plenty of mistakes, but she's a good mom at the end of the day and gives good advice that belle finds to be really helpful
regina's witty and has a somewhat dark sense of humor, which belle is actually fairly good at responding to. this whole family jokes around with each other pretty regularly, and they are no exception
also, they're arguably the smartest people in this family. like these two spend so much time reading, researching, and learning that they really know their stuff. so, when a new villain comes to town, they're usually the first ones on research duty. instead of just sending belle to the library by herself, regina will often go with her (the entire fam is trying to be better about working together, not apart)

s1 of ouat is so funny because regina is trying SO HARD to scare emma and it DOES NOT WORK hardly at all. meanwhile emma isn’t really trying to scare regina most of the time, mostly she’s just running around town doing side quests for fairy tale characters and playing spy games with her son, but her very presence has regina quaking in her jimmy choos
