HELLO!
I absolutely love your art style it so crunchy like a crisp I would ingest it if I could. ahem anyway, how did you get so good at drawing??? like what was your process to being so good?? (also what program do u use to draw?)
thank you!! everyone’s been eating my art nowadays it’s crazy . you have to be first in line to get it or else it’ll get dogpiled minutes after posting
mostly my practice was doodling in school and taking inspiration from other creators, but it’s mainly just YEARS of practice- like how other digital artist peeps like me say! (i think .)
i mainly use procreate to draw but i make low effort doodles on magma.com . hope that helps!

answer all of the artist questions or u a coward
WELL FUCK. OK
1. Art programs you have but don't use? Medibang Paint is the only one I can think of- everything happens in Procreate now!
2. Is it easier to draw someone facing left or right (or forward even)? definitely left, but right/front aren't too bad
3. What ideas come from when you were little? I'm not 100% sure I understand this one? My fairy fixation goes way back tho
4. Fav character/subject that's a bitch to draw? Boys.
5. Estimate of how much of your art you post online vs. the art you keep for yourself. Probably a 90/10 split, tbh? At least 80/20. I don't post much of my art
6. Anything that might inspire you subconsciously (i.e. this horse wasn't supposed to look like the Last Unicorn but I see it) I feel like I don't really experience this with drawing? With writing and character creation definitely, but I feel like I'm conscious of all my biggest drawing inspos
7. A medium of art you don't work in but appreciate? Hmmm. Legos
8. What's an old project idea that you've lost interest in? Camp Cauldron
Tumblr media
9. What are your file name conventions?
Tumblr media
10. Favorite piece of clothing to draw? Probably swishy skirts!
11. Do you listen to anything while drawing? If so, what? Just my regular music
12. Easiest part of body to draw? Arms, probably
13. A creator who you admire but whose work isn't your thing? I'm also not sure about this one? To me admiration goes hand in hand with liking... I respect a lot of artists whose work I'm not into though
14. Any favorite motifs? -patrick voice- is gender a motif?
15. *Where* do you draw (don't drop your ip address this just means do you doodle at a park or smth) At home mainly, sometimes at work or just wherever I happen to be. I'm trying to spend more time in Third Places
16. Something you are good at but don't really have fun doing? I can't think of anything? I'm getting better at enjoying every part of art
17. Do you eat/drink when drawing? if so, what? No? I use my hands to draw
18. An estimate of how much art supplies you've broken? Not that many tbh! I've always been very careful with my art things. A handful of pencils, surely
19. Favorite inanimate objects to draw (food, nature, etc.) Probably plants!
20. Something everyone else finds hard to draw but you enjoy? HANDS I love drawing hands
21. Art styles nothing like your own but you like anyways? Art styles unlike my own are my favorites! Jamie Hewlett, @tanglefootcomic, @ampreh, and @maruti-bitamin to name a few
22. What physical exercises do you do before drawing, if any? I always do some light warmups/hand and arm stretches
23. Do you use different layer modes? Yes ofc, great shortcut for shading and lighting
24. Do your references include stock images? I don't have like, a set reference folder, I just google what I need. So yeah, that usually includes stock images!
25. Something your art has been compared to that you were NOT inspired by? Scott Pilgrim
26. What's a piece that got a wildly different interpretation from what you intended? I don't post enough for this to happen to me B)
27. Do you warm up before getting to the good stuff? If so, what is it you draw to warm up with? I warm up with spirals, connect the dots, and snake in a basket
28. Any art events you have participated in the past (like zines) nope :\
29. Media you love, but doesn't inspire you artistically? Oxymoronic. Everything I love inspires me
30. What piece of yours do you think is underrated? I DON'T POST ENOUGH FOR THIS but my color study self-portrait was really good

Hiya, just saw ur tags about using Procreate and I've been considering getting an iPad for art, would u recommend it / what kind of iPad do u use ? :) Btw ur art is great, you've got a great eye for colour !
HI IM SOOO SORRY IT TOOK ME SO LONG TO REPLY I never get asks so I never check my inbox shfkjsjd im so sorry but thank you for the COMPLIMENT! That’s so funny too because I feel like color is my greatest weakness :0 NOW here’s my iPad info!!
I love procreate!! I have the iPad Pro- I would specifically recommend this over the others only because the apple pencil charges magnetically on the side and I have some friends who have issues with their pencil dying more frequently with the pen you have to plug in to charge. If you draw a lot I’d also recommend getting as much storage as you can afford because I had some problems with procreate crashing before I expanded my storage, but if you keep your files organized and clean out once in a while you probably will not run into this issue. ALSO! I got mine used for about $350 but even that was a steal compared to what I’ve been seeing them going for. So honestly don’t break the bank for this thang, i use it in my professional work and it was worth it for me, but i have friends who use it exclusively for personal sketches and such who really like the mini! It’s smaller and even easier to tote around :)
I’ve used a buncha different art programs- started out with mspaint and then the free vers. of krita (which I LOVE if you’re interested in learning photoshop, it’s very similar and in my opinion kind of preferable to use??) and I used photoshop for free in art school! And now I use procreate :) it just kind of allows me to work a lot faster because I don’t worry about files getting corrupted, and the interface is just very clean. I also love the sketchbook (page assist) feature because it keeps my thumbnails and doodles organized! It’s not as… developed as photoshop but I specifically love the perspective tool- used it all the time when I was learning- and the animation tool! I’ve made some funky little gifs and animatics with it. Aside from procreate there are other programs you can get for the iPad, I have a 3D modeling program and I think there’s even a version of clip studio paint? Plus I watch YouTube while I’m drawing lol. Split screen feature is great for keeping references open while you draw! I hope this wasn’t all too much info, but I’m not like. Super great at being concise. I like procreate lmao and thank u again for the compliment :))

9, 10 and 26 plzzzzzz (>_<)
btw thanks for tag me as one of your favorite artist, u are also my favorite!!!
(not surprise to know that u like to use the warm color most, considering most of your works just look so warm and sweet, feels like u r adding some sunlight on your works, love it)
9. what drawing program do you use? I use ibispaint!! I'm starting with procreate, though, it has so many fun brushes
10. are you right or left handed? right handed! I... cannot draw with my left hand haha
26. draw urself! (it doesn’t have to be detailed) here's a drawing from a minicomic I did last year, plus a chibi that i doodled before finding the first one :DD

miss padfootastic, welcome back— 8, and 30 💖
dr grey!!! regardless of how many times i dip in and out of tumblr, it makes me so happy that i always get a welcome back message from u <3 pls never stop
8. How many languages do you know?
fluent in 3! although i can’t read or write the third one (which, in a v sad turn of events, is my mother tongue and first language but i never formally learnt it so 🥲 i’ve tried picking it up multiple times as an adult but all i see are circles, and more circles in varying sizes so uh. not the easiest, that)
beyond that, as is with most indians i’d say, i can pick up on neighbouring languages if spoken gently enough. very barebones french, which is all i have to show for around ~4 years of middle school education of it lol
30. What are your hobbies?
ooh i don’t think i can get by with saying ‘fanfiction! writing!’ like i do everywhere else lol let’s see,,,,,love doing anything ~academic, particularly like. sociology/psychology/philosophy. big fan of starting various new activities and dropping them midway (my commitment issues started young, it seems 🥲). swimming, table tennis, lawn tennis for top 3 sports. i like doodling and turning my friends & family into memes on procreate etc. absolutely hilarious, i love for their reactions. also tend to go down a lot of nostalgic photo album rabbit holes where i look at stuff of years past and ~reminisce lol

Doodle from September 15th, 2022 Really quick Cassie doodle for style experimentation purposes. Not like an “official” style change but rather some things to make mental note of when actually drawing her for the comic as opposed to her character sheet stuff. Though this is just a loose drawing that I’ve slapped line art onto, this is generally closer to how I draw Cassie for thumbnailing scenes, and I like how expressive it usually ends up being. I want to make sure I don’t lose all of that when editing things to be on model, so I want to find a happy medium between this and the more refined style I’ve done for the character sheets thus far. Character design can be so technical (and I love it for that) but sometimes I have to remind myself not to be so rigid-perfectionist about it when putting those characters into the thing I designed them for in the first place ^^’ I am like... THIS close to giving everything its own line art colour like I’ve done here with her face. I know I’m going to hate myself like 10 pages in if I do the whole comic this way but DANG IT it looks so good too... we’ll see lol This feels like forever ago now but this piece is one that I always come back to when it comes to my execution of a comic-ish style with coloured line art. It’s still one of my favourite pieces for that, it all came together really well in my opinion and I want to bring some of that back. I might even dive back into the PSD to study all the layers separately again (there were so many with the final render lmao)
Also Procreate has a noise brush now??? It’s pretty sweet and gives me that tiny bit of texture I want to make it seem a little less digital, though I might use a paper texture filter or something as well. I really like how her cheek blushies came out ;u;

Could you give me some tips for my art?? And also how do you do your art?
short answer: practice!!!
long answer: practice a lot. when you want to improve, it's quantity over quality. i sometimes sketch a piece 3-4 times before starting the lineart. these are fast sketches that take <10 minutes to do. draw the same characters/people/symbols over and over.
also, warm-up before drawing! jumping straight into lineart has never worked well for me so i take 10-15 minutes to doodle or color an entire canvas beforehand. "doodles" means circles, flowers, stars, poorly shaped dogs, anything to get your wrist warmed up and your brain in the right mindset.
other things that have helped me improve as i go along: - using thinner lineart - drawing from references - watching youtube videos - forcing myself to draw things i avoid (hands, backgrounds, clothing details, etc.)
as for digital art, i draw with an apple pencil using the procreate app ($10 on the app store) on an ipad pro! u can see my brushes here. good luck!

hello!! i’ve always been a traditional artist, but i just recently got my first tablet for drawing and i’m really excited to try my hand at digital art!! i was wondering what art program you use and if you had any tips for someone just starting out with digital art? feel free to ignore if you don’t, i’m just a big fan of your art and i LOVE your little kiri doodles they really give me life <3
oh shit!!! first of all, thank u so so much!!!!! i'm pretty new at all this too, so i'm still kinda learning the ropes myself dkdjdkf digital art is a beast compared to traditional, but it's a lot of fun ;v;
second of all: i use procreate! i've heard lots of good things about clip studio paint tho--they have like 3D models which is sexy bc proportions, yknow? but i'm good with just procreate for now, it's less overwhelming than CSP looks (imo at least)!
AS FOR TIPS!! let's seeeee 🤔🤔
1. try all the brushes and mess with all the brush settings!!! u can reset and duplicate them all u want, u can also download new ones allegedly (idk i never tried KDJDJDJDJ), but definitely test them and find one that works for you! get the right flow & pressure that makes YOU feel in control of the brush. put that brush in its place. make that brush your bi-
2. use references! u probably already know this from traditional art, BUT MAN!!! i'm always looking stuff up on my phone so i can stare at a thing while i draw it. the number one take away is to get the shape of the thing you're trying to draw so that, one day, you won't need a ref anymore. ur third eye will open. u will know that a cat is just a couple of circles and some triangles 👁️👄👁️
3. COLOR PALLETTES!!! procreate is cool bc if i find a pretty picture with a dope color scheme i can turn it into a pallette. i am not good at color theory or whatev--especially with digital art--so it's easier for me to just use a pallette. it gives me colors i kNOW look snazzy together and i won't have to sit and question my life choices when i look back at a fully painted piece in a different light.
4. unfortunately, digital art will make u feel like you're relearning how to draw all over again, so really...it just takes time and practice! at first i took a lot of requests and that helped me SO MUCH. i also really like to find those expression memes and just practice with those on my own time? that helps too. draw as much as possible and don't put a lot of pressure on yourself. if a thing is too complicated, simplify it! thats why i do a lot of simple chibi-like drawings. gotta build up to the hard stuff 😤
anyways skdkdkdjf sorry for the basic advice, but i hope it helps a little!! good luck on your digital art journey, i'm rooting for u!!!

guess whos just doing this for fun!!!!!!!!! answers under cut
1. digital.. i can do traditional sketches but beyond that…
2. pretty much since i was a little baby kid? but ive only been posting art on tumblr since like. one or two years ago? i think only one year
3. beyond middle and elementary art classes, one. and i never will again. i hate drawing and art classes!!!!!!!! that shit sucks!!!!
4. tumblr, instagram & twitter. its all in the pinned post babey. although when i was younger i had a deviantart but uh. we dont need to talk abt that
5. oh just people!!!!! people are fun to draw!!
6. arms raising in any sort of way why is the body like that. hands i can handle. legs and feet i can handle. arms raised? no.
7. less than i should.. i try to and i want to but im also so lazy. too much work.. references make everything easier tho so if u draw use them
8. just for fun. altho if u want to pay me for my art just let me know :) . i have considered doing it professionally but i get burnt out and unmotivated easily. and also if i had to draw professionally i would actually hate art forever
9. uh. very little. my current drawing set up that i had is Unavailable so its destroyed any comfortable drawing i can do. its also why i hadnt posted any art until last weekend. im working on figuring out a new set up. but even before that i dont draw everyday, thats tiring !!
10. sort of? kind of? idk people will always be better at u than something and people will always be worse at something than u thats just life. i like bits and pieces of my art and i dislike other parts. i dont like showing my art to strangers in real life !!
11. a lot!! i think. i dont keep track of who i follow that much? i do on twitter but on tumblr…. ive had this blog for like 6 years thats too much to keep track of.
12. absolutely!!! altho u may have to elaborate.. my process sometimes changes based on what im drawing
13. uhhh i like drawing for others but if im drawing shit for myself then it typically stays in the For Myself area. i have over 800 canvases in procreate and ive only posted like. 150 drawings. most of the stuff i draw is for myself.
14. i dont think i have ever collaborated but i wouldnt mind it i guess? if i ever did it was with my friends like years ago
15. 2-4 hours. up to ten or twenty hours if its something longer or bigger. that multipart bioshock piece took around 12-14 hours and it was a couple of days.
16. i draw less but i do more fully finished pieces now. its mostly just circumstance. in class i always doodle and draw but since i havent had proper classes in a year and a half i havent really been drawing as much. but i do have more time which means i can finish pieces more easily
17. uh. i guess? it depends what theyre drawing? like if its people then i think i could give advice but.. idk i only give advice if asked to? and i dont really think about it?
18. side profiles last night lol.. i think ive figured it out??? in general im still trying to find a way to finish pieces that im satisfied with. like with lining and coloring i mean.
19. backgrounds. easily. that shit is annoying!!!!!! nightmare hell realm and all that
20. hair i guess! its pretty simple for me and i like doing it
21. uhhhhhhhhhhhhh…………. sort of? i like trying things and improving so………. i guess.
22. yes. i like to compare my old art to my new art! i actually have sketches from forever ago that ill go back and redo just to see the differences! its funny thinking abt it bc at the time of drawing ill be like. I Am Superior To My Previous Selves and then the next time i look at it im like. what the fuck is wrong with that little guy
23. more original art definitely!! my original art folder has over 400 pieces and any other folders has like. 100 or less
24. depends! mostly inspired nowadays. i mimic artstyles that i like a lot of the time and it helps expand upon what i already have. i am an amalgamation of things i love and enjoy. i dont really get jealous about art anymore
25. with music, podcasts, videos, anything really! i cant draw and talk tho. i cant really read or write while listening to stuff. sometimes im able to put on music and read or write but if i have to concentrate too much then i turn off the music lol
26. i use procreate!!! like. exclusively.
27. uhh around 20-40 layers depending on how complicated im making it? layers all get merged at the end
28. -
29. -
30. other artists!!!! other art!!!!! i will just see the most pretty things and im like. i want that!!!!!!!! that’s pretty and beautiful!!!!!!! i have an entire folder dedicated to just. pretty art. thats also the entirety of my saved photos but. uh. anyways yeah!!!!!! other people’s art makes me want to do art because its inspiring and nice!!!!!!!!!! mwah @ other artists

What brushes do you use in procreate? :)
lol ok i use a combination of the procreate brushes and i’ve bought a few from alotta artists i admire!! i’m gonna break it down below:
PROCREATE
6B (modified) : for sketching, highlights, fine details
soft airbrush : blocking in color, used with multiply blending mode,
bonobo chalk : for “noisy” texture, usually for blush details
dry ink (modified) : for writing
BLUESSATAN (via instagram / gum road)
i bought their “fav” pack
sketch 1 & 2 brushes : for that creamy outline!!! i love this brush it changed my life . my sketches started to look like drawings i’ve seen online forever!!! it sounds like an exaggeration but these brushes improved my confidence
JING Paint brushes (via instagram / gum road)
i bought their entire set and it’s so WORTH IT!!!!
sketch render brush : for all the sketches and outlines you’ve seen me do lately
flat painting stream : for shading
fil outline: for filling outlines lmao, block out big shapes with this
i kinda use the same brushes over and over and i’m still learning how to use the ones i have haha. but i think it’s important to keep trying new things and switching it up when u can.
i reaaally like tapered “pencil-like” brushes and i totally do the entire painting stroke by stroke. i don’t really use many shortcuts cos i’m a barbarian. i look up to a lot of artists and illustrators so i usually look into their recommendations, BUT you do not need to buy everything at once. work with what u have and then work up when u can! 💛
happy doodling!!! ! ! !

It seems like this has become a habit, me returning after some weeks or month of silence and inactivity to inform you of my whereabouts and that I still breathe, replying to old old notes, throwing in some art, promising that I try to be more active only to disappear shortly after again...
For a detailed look and some asks, there is the cut
You clicked it! Marvelous! Sorry to disappoint tho, there is actually not much to say. University has gotten even more annoying and time consuming than ever before, which is... astounding, really. I tried to work harder, more efficient, to earn me some free time every evening for drawing and what not. In the end I just made more room for even more university stuff, which I desperately needed, because this semester is a nightmare. When I still tried to draw despite everything I got majorly art-blocked... I’m heading straight into an exam phase with “only” 11 exams left, I already got one down, and honestly, I’m at a point where I don’t even care anymore... I missed a real cool con, I’ll not be able to visit friends from the US that happen to be in Germany for a while, I missed a vacation with my mom, I abandoned all social media because it really dragged me down to not be able to show some scribbles...  I’m currently doing the below average stuff for university which still takes up most of my time, but I draw again and I play games with friends whenever I can and I feel ok.
Thanks for reading this... And now the asks that have been lying around in my inbox for too long, sorry about that!
znoybird hat gesagt: Just found your through the tf2 "seatbelt, spy!" picture and I'm so glad I did your art looks fantastic and so expressive just hnngg ;u; Bless you, mate you're amazing.
@znoybird Thank you so much : D!
kokorocala hat gesagt: Just saying, watching gay, dusty, old mercenary bastards having flirty relationships despite what their strict worker contracts stipulates validate me in ways RuPaul's Drag race and any other mainstream queer media never could, This shit slaps hard
@kokorocala Hehh, glad to be of service!
Anonym hat gesagt: please post your nsfw art somewhere please please maybe on tf2chan... i've saved like 98% of your tf2 art doodles here so i never lose them... the nsfw community deserves your art, it is so expressive!!
Oh boy, thanks a lot! Glad you like my stuff, although I think you might be confusing me with someone else? In my entire online life I’ve posted, like, three (3) nsfw drawings (not including gore pictures), so there is not much that you’re missing here
oldboyjensenhinglemeier hat gesagt: Your art is a major joy and inspiration, and I hope you have a good day!
@oldboyjensenhinglemeier Thank you so much : D
Anonym hat gesagt: What program do u use to draw??
I use Painttool Sai! Sometimes Procreate.
Anonym hat gesagt: (same anon from the slickpaint/epilogue ask) i don't shame you from not reading the epilogues, it's not for everyone. I read candy and then lost interest on reading meat. I'll probably read it sometime, but it's definitely not a priority, specially because there's no crew (or even jack noir, for that matter) in it.
Ohh have you picked up on reading it? Has Jack appeared in the epilogue yet? Or any of the guys? I haven’t checked the internet nor any homestuck related stuff recently, I’m absolutely oblivious to the things happening here

...and it was on that day that Eric Cartman knew... he fucked up.
I’ll have you fuckin know that this whole doodle was done with one brush at the same size. The tilt for the apple pencil in procreate for the brush I used is absolutely messed up.
I have this weird thing where I don’t like drawing other people’s characters, yet I p much live and breathe fanart lmaoooo It’s like... I know when I write, that I have a super specific vision of how things/people look, so I feel like drawing a character from a fic is just... wrong?
Idk it’s weird, but it didn’t stop me today 8D
Tbh I’ve wanted to draw Dee’s hair ever since I saw @justcallmebuttlord drew a pic as a visual reference. It’s so fun to draw! I’m just sorry it was such a hasty doodle and not something better ;u;
Dee is, naturally Buttlord’s character. She comes across as very ‘tranquil fury’, and tbh I’m a whore for that stuff lmaoooo
I hope you don’t mind the doodle! It’s really messy but it was all for her glorious hair OTL
I had a thought while drawing this that Dee owns nothing but electric blue tops/sweaters for all occassions 👌👌

Hi, I might sound a little dumb and you might've answered these kinds of questions before, but I've been wanting to move into digital art a bit more and I dont know where to start. What programs do you use and do you have any suggestions for a good tablet to start out with? Any tips for beginners? Sorry if this is dumb, I really dont want to waste your time or anything, but I really love your art and you seem like you'd have good advice
This is not dumb at all it is super overwhelming to try and get started. I’ve been using the 4th gen 12.9 in iPad Pro to ease off the eye strain and to expand the internal memory, but I’ve still kept my smaller 2017 iPad Pro cuz it’s just as good but it’s just smaller and I brought it with me when I travelled. However, I can’t use the smaller iPad all the time cuz when I worked on detailed paintings it really really fucked up my eyes
Both of the tablets were huge investments for me that ended up being really worth it only cuz I knew how I would get use out of them. So unless u have the coin and u want a solid tablet that could almost replace a laptop, DONT buy the newest largest iPad Pro. But take a look if u can find somewhere the 2017 iPad Pro for a decent price cuz if u can that is a very decent place to start but also consider the price of the Apple Pencil (and keyboard and such). I can’t comment on how the other iPads work cuz at the time the 1st gen pencil was only compatible with the pro line
However if u really don’t want to use an iPad, definitely have a look at the Samsung tablets. I’ve personally not used them but I keep seeing good thing about them from mutuals on twitter. Another thing to consider if u can’t get either yet u can always use ur phone to make scribbles and thumbnail paintings on apps (that I’ll talk about now)
With programs there is a plethora of things u can start with. When I just got back into digital art I used Adobe sketch which is a free app that is very limited in its capabilities but I think for just doodling it works just fine. For painting I used medi bang which is also free and quite a bit more advanced, but it has ads all over the place. I will definitely definitely recommend getting procreate, it’s what I use most of the time and it’s fantastic for the one off tiny price and it has so many features it’s just *chefs kiss* and u can use it on ur phone so 🤷‍♂️ then there is also clip studio paint... with which I had a recent row so.... I won’t recommend it for some who is just getting into digital art, at all, but take a peep into the features if u are curious
To sum up: an iPad is an investment so consider how else u use it and u don’t have to get the newest model, just one with a decent amount of memory. Samsung tablets are also a very good option. If neither are an option for u right now, ur phone is also a very good mini tablet. I’ll 100% recommend getting procreate if u don’t mind spending a little on the app
