Physical therapist AU that popped up into my mind yesterday and I can’t stop thinking about them!!!!
Bakugou as the physical therapist that most people are kind of scared of. He doesn’t get that many clients, only because his methods are a little harsh and his words are a little mean, but it’s only because he wants the best for you and your body. He focuses solely on your upper body and arms, for when you have pains or surgeries. He’s such an ass, likes to pick up 20 pound weights and show you how to do your exercise, tuts at you when you complain that your two pound weights are too heavy. But on the days when he really sees you struggling, his voice is a lot kinder, and he’ll give you the one pound weights when he sees your arms shaking a little. But the next appointment, you won’t be able to slack off!
Kiri as the lower body and legs physical therapist in the studio. He’s all cheery and bright when he sees you, is a little imposing with the eye contact whenever he explains each and every muscle in your calf and how it aids you and why it hurts when you run without warming up first. He’s just so big, doesn’t realize his size when he climbs up on the tables with you so that he can bend and twist your leg every which way to show you how it should feel. You hate to disappoint him, watch that bottom lip puff out when you admit that you haven’t done your exercises the way you were supposed to. He must hang out with Bakugou too much, because he goes just a little harder on you those days.
Deku who focuses on the whole body. He’s much like Kiri, with his big green eyes staring holes into your soul as he over explains where the soreness in your flank comes from. His hands are big and soft when they guide you into the right position he wants to put you in, his voice soft. Always whispers a drawn out ‘goooood job’ whenever you can do something he’s instructed you without any hiccups. He turns beet red whenever he realizes how his hands have found themselves in a compromising position on your body, just gets so caught up in guiding you, and it’s the most adorable thing ever.
Denki as the therapist who focuses solely on hands. He’s amazing with his fingers, all long and slender and pretty. He talks your head off when you come in after surgery on your pinky and middle finger, and you can’t help but find it endearing. He shows you how to do your exercises and routines, all pretty smiles and golden eyes that you can’t help but admire with a sweet sigh when you stare at him. He also buys his own lotion to massage into your hands, and coos about how soft they are and how good they smell after, embarrassing you whenever he holds your wrists up for other passersby’s to smell.
Shinsou works primarily with feet and ankles, and he’s damn good at it. He always has a bored little look on his face, and you’re scared he might be too rough, but he’s the complete opposite. Asks you intermittently, does this hurt? is the pain right here? should I add more pressure? And he doesn’t huff when you complain about his hands being too rough. He does give you a stern talking to though when he doesn’t see any progression because you haven’t been keeping up with at home maintenance. But on those days, he also offers up heat with the electro therapy treatment, because he knows you prefer it over the ice.
Todoroki as the additional chiropractor there???? His monotonous voice gives no indication when he’s going to basically separate your spine from your flesh, but you can always see his little hint of a smile when you scream a little. And delinquent turned front desk worker Dabi???? who only works there because his annoying brother got him job, but he doesn’t mind it because he gets to flirt with the patients before they’re whisked off to the back.

I miss when bakugou was drawn with fucked up teeth. It was a very brief thing and I’m sure it stopped to save drawing time, but in my heart his lil teefies are crooked. I just have no idea how to translate it to my art style (suggestions are welcome) anyways… I think izuku has almost perfect teeth - maybe one crooked one or a chipped tooth or something - and bkdk are both mildly jealous of the other, unaware of the fact that the only reason they care, is bc they think the other is cute.

something to be said about bakugou getting the Troubled Teen Industry redemption treatment. like of course he deserved to be corrected for his early series behaviour but. some of y’all just wanna see “bad” kids get their “comeuppance”

Messing with bkg reminds me of one of those pranks I saw on insta where the gf replaces his strawberries and cookies with scented candles and tricks him into eating it😂😂 he'd be so pissed and so done with us already 🤣. Look, I'm sorry, but Class 1-A had no excuse going after Izuku the way they did in the Dark Deku arc.
They knew Shigaraki held Izuku hostage at the mall. They knew (I think?) that Shigaraki directly targeted him during the war. They knew from the letter that the man who took control of Japan 100+ years ago was directly targeting him. So for them to act all surprised and upset that he ran off without telling them is just mind-blowing to me.
Then they let BAKUGOU take the lead in their little rescue mission and DO NOTHING as he bullies Izuku yet again. They see how physically and mentally beaten down Izuku is and don't respect that. If anything, Izuku should have called them out on this and ran off again.
Overall, this arc had so much potential in exploring Izuku's mentality (low to non-existent self esteem, self sacrificing tendancies, Imposter Syndrome regarding his spot at UA), but as always, it wound up being a fucking bust. Only All Might and the OFA users were actually worried about the ramifications of Izuku putting this burden on himself.

The Dark Deku arc was one of THE BIGGEST personal let downs for me. After so long of feeling Meh about MHA at the beginning this arc (stupidly in retrospect) got my hopes up.
Was AFO going to be an actual threat again? Was he going to go after AM? Inko? Uraraka? (I actually thought Hori was building up to have AFO kill AM with how AM was shown caring for Izu this arc.)
Are we finally going to see more Izuku POV on everything? And shift focus back to him on what he thought of certain key events? I.e Hawks's actions surrounding Twices death, Dabi's reveal, Midnight's death (since this is the first person Izu knew to properly die could this have driven home stronger that more people he knew could easily die.)
Then instead of any of that we got Class 1A vs Izu shoehorned in as a shit finale and Bakugou leading the charge against him.
Anyone with a braincell should see this was a bad idea.
Anyone who cares for Izu should see that beating him down instead of approaching the situation with empathy is a bad idea.
Are we meant to believe Todoroki, Uraraka, Tsuyu or Iida are Ok with this? If they are... Am I meant to still believe they're Izuku's friends? Why are they not pushing back against Bkg's b.s? WTH Hori?!
In this situation, Izuku had every right to go completely apeshit on every member of Class 1A since this essentially mirrors Aldera - with Bakugou leading the charge AGAIN!
In fact I wish he did because Bakugou looked like he was having a swell time! Maybe that would have wiped the shit eating grin off Bakugou's face. Look at those grins and taunts, clearly reliving the glory days at Aldera, how I wanted Izuku to deck this bastard.
Right until his b.s Apology where he pulled out the manipulative fake remorse (without explaining the situation) and topped it off with "this won't change anything between us." With Izuku stood like a literal prop to listening to this silently, for the sole purpose of making Bakubitch look good, until he faints.
Woooooow.
Hori just hates Izuku doesn't he? What a way to fuck up an arc that actually should have focused on the MC for once. Instead of giving Izu any kind of focus or... Anything Hori brings him right back to Bakugou, his lifelong bully and abuser.
I hate this.

i feel like the people that criticise Katsuki often forget or ignore how Izuku responds to his actions, because a lot of the time it gives a lot more context to their relationship and that doesn’t work with their bkg hateful narrative
because when katsuki tell him to off himself praying that he will get a quirk on his next life, izuku’s answer is “stupid kacchan, he could get in trouble if i acted upon that, does he not think before he speaks ?” and the goons around bkg agree that he had never ‘taken it that far’, implying that was the first time he said something like that
he takes the nickname bkg gave him as his hero name to stick it up to him, he mainly ignored his rage fits and brush it off as “that’s just how kacchan is”, he thinks kacchan putting stupid nicknames to his classmates is his way of ‘getting along’, he wanted to reveal OFA’s secret after their first training, when everyone was waiting to see if he was okay he went after bkg who had broken his arm; when bkg breaks down about how useless he feels to him, he fights him because that’s what bkg needs from him
on top of all of this i could talk about how complicated feelings of love and hate can be, how gifted and/or neurodivergent kids can have trouble with their own emotions and relations to others, how Hori doesn’t make everything black and white with his characters, etc.
but i prefer to sign off saying that Izuku is not the deeply affected bully victim a lot of people paint him out to be and how important his own behaviour is to understand how their relationship works
