Good ole buggy Gale strikes again!
So, I never got the scene where we do magic together; which from what I understand is what triggers his romance to start. The scene just never triggered for some reason.
Act 2 multiple romance conversations triggered while out killing things. His "you're so beautiful after a fight" conversations. And I got a conversation option to tell him I choose him or Astarion (I'd also like to note the dialogue I got for that was slightly different. At the beginning he says something to the effect of "you have a twinkle in your eye, and i don't think I'm the cause of it anymore." ouch). Even though I shouldn't have triggered his romance.
Fast forward to his Act 2 night sequence scene (AkA potential sex scene) Even though I never truly "ended" the relationship that I shouldn't have been in with him (because I had to reload a ways back and I couldn't bring myself to do the "sorry I choose Astarion" scene again) and the scene played out like a normal friendship scene (which is a blessing, because the last time I played I got, what I'm assuming was, the low approval scene - though I shouldn't have gotten that either at the time). I fully expected the whole relationship issue was going to come up again. But... nope.
Gale, make up your mind sir.

Returning
"Balmorra-" Tai began, but Ivanye shook his head.
"I was born on Balmorra," he said evenly, "Unless something has drastically changed in the last decade or so, I am aware of the current situation regarding the Imperial occupation."
"You didn't say you were from Balmorra," Aluani accused.
"I'm not," Ivanye enunciated primly, "I was born there, I left when I was still young and, quite frankly, I had no intention of ever returning." Tai seemed mystified.
"Why wouldn't you want to go home?"
"Tython is my home," Ivanye said, as calm and collected as ever, "And before that it was Dromund Kaas. Make no mistake, my parents may have been Resistance fighters, but I was raised Imperial." Tai shook his head, mentally comparing the young jedi's features to various Resistance members.
"Your mom wouldn't happen to be Chemish Or, would she?" Tai asked weakly. Ivanye bristled.
"She lost any right to call herself my mother. When our parents were arrested, my brother and I were given new names and identities and adopted out to good Imperial families. If I hadn't have been force sensitive, or if the Sith had been kinder to me, I might have stayed Imperial," Ivanye shook his head, "You don't need to brief me on the situation. Just tell me who my contact is."
"A Resistance Fighter by the name of Zenith. He's pretty paranoid, so you'll need to activate jammers around Bugtown. Be careful of the colicoids." Ivanye saluted Tai with his unlit saber as he moved to disembark.
"Tharan, would you and Holiday care to join me?"
"Jedi, it would be my genuine pleasure," the scientist responded, falling into step with Ivanye as they exited onto Balmorran soil.

Art Dump 2
Working on a large project that I refuse to post about until its release, but it's my primary goal right now, so here's some stuff I made in the past!
Just a fair warning though, there's some terraria fan content in here with some fleshy organ stuff so if that makes you uncomfortable you may not want to check this one out
This here's a fan boss I designed for a Terraria mod concept I've been working on with a friend. "The Lungs of Cthulhu"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Note, gameplay image is an edit and is not real gameplay. There is currently no actual mod being created, just concept art and planning.)
They're an early hardmode boss that slows down world evil spread when defeated.
Here's an aphid design for Bugtown! Aphids in this world are like Rabbits mixed with small dogs. They're the most popular type of pet in this bug universe I've been building.
Tumblr media
That's all I have to show off for now. Here's hoping you'll have heaps to hear from me in the future!

Forgot to post this yesterday -- My daughter decided to go back to her roots and play CattGirl a bit.
Tumblr media
She finally got off Balmorra! Which was great because my daughter says “I hate that place. I hate the bugs.”
She was also not terribly pleased that Zenith temporarily replaced Qyzen as her companion. “I think we should have two companions like my other game.” she said.
Tumblr media
So off we went to rescue the president...
Tumblr media
“HAN SOLO IS PRESIDENT??!!”
Tumblr media
And then I broke the news to Kiddo. We had to go back to Bugtown. She was NOT pleased.
Tumblr media
(Pictured, my 6 y/o daughter)
But on the bright side...
Tumblr media
CattGirl got to ride her beloved bantha, Isabela!
Tumblr media
We even made it inside before “Isabela go poof”.
Back on the ship, my daughter continued to display questionable taste in SWTOR men by flirting with Tharan Cedrax.
Tumblr media
She was NOT happy that the game did not show them “smoochy kissing”, however. Get it together, BioWare.
Then my daughter got bored of playing and went to go draw a mermaid unicorn.

Legend of Lightning Chapter 74. Bugtown
Tumblr media
https://archiveofourown.org/works/43208574/chapters/118079749
“Shields failing fast!”
Vajra and Kira were granted a small, two-man shuttle as their entry into Balmorra. Neither wanted to risk the Garuda on something like this. The shuttle had shields and armor, but the manoeuvrability of a brick.
“Why’d there have to be a patrol now, of all times!?”
“And right at our entry point too!”
Vajra desperately pulled the sluggish ship through a twisty path, relying on his Sight and Force-fuelled Instinct to avoid the most devastating shots. But despite his best efforts…
“Can’t… shake… them!”
He started to panic again, as he had on the day he’d flown into the Oppressor. He wasn’t a bad pilot, thanks in great part to his combat instincts, but he felt much less secure in a ship. It was so easy for a mistake to spiral into death by fiery explosion! And a ship was never as under his control as his own body. This drunken Huttsmobile, especially.
Shields at fifteen percent!
“Easy, boss!” Kira had noticed his state. Summoning the most admirable veneer of calm, she settled back in her seat. Leaning over slightly, she whispered softly. “Forget what the instruments are telling you. You’re doing just great. You don’t have to be afraid. I’m here with you. We’ll survive this together. Kay? I know we can do it.

hi! if you don't mind answering, i have a couple questions regarding screenshots that (iirc) you didn't talk about in your recent post 1. what resolution is your monitor? mine is good old 1920x1080 and while my full size screenshots look fine, if i crop them too much, the quality is noticeably bad
2. what format do you use? jpeg or png? and what program do you use to take screenshots? i use steam's screenshot button (F12) which might be where the problem lies, but everything else feels more clunky and uncomfortable to use
or is most of the magic just the post-processing and playing around with correction levels?
also, did you take screenshots of your characters' outfits in a cutscene (and if so, which ones would you recommend for it) or just in the open world?
Sure thing!
I'm also at the regular 1920x1080, so yes, definitely another factor to consider - fullbody shots in game can end up pixelly if you zoom in even a little, and I've more or less resigned myself to this haha. If I'm doing those and cropping them down, I just try to remind myself that I'm mostly posting on tumblr, IG, etc where they're unlikely to be full screen size when folks are seeing them. Sometimes a little sharpening in photoshop helps, but at the end of the day, that's where the resolution is staying at.
Honestly, I go back and forth between jpg and png. As far as posting on the interwebs is concerned, I haven't noticed a real difference in the outcome.
I use the windows game bar for all my screenshots and recordings, primarily because the regular print screen button does NOT work in SWTOR cutscenes, for whatever reason. So I just spam win+print screen to take 'em. One thing I've learned the hard way - screenshot quality is noticeably reduced if I record a cutscene and then screenshot from the recording. This is why I end up going through most cutscenes four or five times - figuring out what dialogue route to choose, screenshotting, and then the last one I actually record.
The outfit posts I make are cutscenes, yes. It is frustratingly hard to find good fullbody shots that take up most of the screen, but I can give you a few options here.
These ones were taken in the first leg of the Republic Taris world story:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is from an Imperial heroic in Bugtown on Balmorra:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is from KOTFE Ch VII (Lady of Sorrows), you do have to run through a bit of the chapter to get there, but once you get to the cantina you can keep escaping out and it'll just bounce you out of the instance, and you can change clothes and run in again. I colour correct this somewhat because it is VERY yellow/green.
Tumblr media
Hope that's all helpful!

Greetings, dear friends and welcome to the official Bugtown tumblr, where you can find announcements about our newest episodes, transcripts and more!
What is Bugtown?
I'm glad you asked! Bugtown is a podcast about Bug Whitlock (they/them), who moves to a small town called Pottersburgh. But they quickly realize that something supernatural and maybe even sinister seems to be going on behind the façades...
Where can I find it?
The plan is to air the episodes on tumblr and spotify, with new episodes coming out every month. The first one is planned to air on June 7th, 2023!
Who makes Bugtown?
That would be me, Kai (he/they). Bugtown is a project I've been planning for a while and I'm very excited to share it! I also voice Bug.
Why should I listen to it?
You don't have to, of course, but if you like podcasts, ghosts, the supernatural, casual queer representation and a tad bit of romance, it might be worth to check it out!

OTGW Sequel Idea: Return to the Unknown
Wirt and Sara's daughter, Bea, believes her uncle Gregory's stories of the Unknown are just make-believe. All that changes one Halloween night, when she accompanies her classmates to a spooky abandoned house, where an accident lands her into a coma, whereupon she finds herself in the same Unknown from her uncle's tales. On her quest back to consciousness, she is joined by William, a meek wizard in training, Cornelia, a skeletal resident of Pottsfield, and Raymund, a sarcastic talking dodo. As these group of friends make their way through the Unknown to find Bea's way home, they encounter many odd characters and dangers, from Mr. Whittles, a hunter who uses animal bones for his "ivory" carvings, to William's monstrous Aunt Beldam, who looks like a gigantic floating wooden face with trailing tentacles. They are also stalked by the witch Evanor, a follower of the deceased Beast, who seeks to resurrect her master at all costs.
Tropes
Actor Allusion: This isn't the first time that a character voiced by Crispin Glover starred in a creepy production with a mention of the "Beast". And with Elijah Wood, no less!
Nor is it the first time Jim Conroy voiced a funny Talking Animal with a happy-go-lucky attitude.
Jim Belushi also voiced a crazy hunter character in a certain show about monsters.
Anachronism Stew: Justified by Enoch, who tells Bea that the Unknown is a realm located "betwixt and between". Below are examples from the different eras:
Bea's Halloween costume consists of a Regency era dress (like her namesake wore), a crop military costume jacket and a tricorn hat from a pirate costume.
William's outfit is inspired by 1650-1690 clothing, like his mother's.
Ray wears a Victorian-era vest, as part of the reference to Alice in Wonderland.
Mr. Whittles is dressed in classic 18th-century hunting clothing.
Evanor's attire is inspired by Jane Stanford, a "robber baroness".
Bizarre Dream Rationalization: Bea is in disbelief when she realizes she's in the Unknown, but quickly brushes it off as she's dreaming. That is, until she looks down a magic well and sees herself being loaded into an ambulance.
Coming of Age Story: The series has a lot of elements of this for Bea.
Chariot Pulled by Cats: Enoch the cat drives a wagon pulled by turkeys.
Don't Go in the Woods: The whole sequel, like its forerunner, is about being lost in the woods and trying to get home. Although Bea wound up in the Unknown after falling through a rotted floor in an old house, as opposed to through the woods or nearly drowning in a pond.
Down the Rabbit Hole: Bea enters the Unknown after a fall. On her journey to return home, she learns a valuable lesson along the way.
Earn Your Happy Ending: In the end, Bea is finally able to get home after defeating Evanmor.
Facial Horror: Aunt Beldam, being the demon who once possessed Lorna, and has now taken the Beast's place, is now covered in Eldewood faces.
Friendly Skeleton: Cornelia, being an inhabitant of Pottsfield.
Homage: Bea's journey is reminiscent of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Raymund is even an Expy of the Dodo from that story. Likewise, Snap the dragonfly is a nod to the Snap-dragonfly in Through the Looking-Glass.
Bea's crop jacket is inspired by the military outfits in Attack on Titan. (Probably from a cosplay.)
Cornelia's pumpkin mask resembles one of the two classic sock and buskin masks. More specifically, the Comedy one.
The giant anthropomorphic bugs of Bugtown are inspired by Mr. Bug Goes to Town, as well as an old book, The Public and Private Life of Animals.
Aunt Beldam is a reference to the Creature from the film Wonderwell, while her name brings to mind the Other Mother from Coraline.
Horror Doesn't Settle for Simple Tuesday: The entire sequel, like its predecessor, takes place on Halloween night.
Mundanger: The early reveal of Bea being in a coma after she falls and lands in the Unknown.
Near-Death Experience: Bea realizes that she's going through this, and so journeys to find her way back to life.
Nightmare Face: Aunt Beldam is a literal example, taking the form of her "sister" Lorna's face with the Beast's eyes, as a result of ingesting the oil from the Beast's broken lantern.
Spin Off Spring: Bea takes over her father's role as the main character.
Wham Line: From Aunt Beldam: "It's been such a long time since I sorted the bones from my meals..."
Wham Shot: After Bea falls through the top floor of the abandoned house, she finds herself in the Unknown, believing herself to be having a weird dream, from which she assumes he will wake up, but for some reason can't. Before encountering Aunt Beldam, she realizes why: Looking down an old well, she sees her own comatose body being loaded onto an ambulance stretcher.
Likewise, Aunt Beldam's first appearance, having Lorna's face with the exact same eyes and texture as the Beast.
Wild Card: While Aunt Beldam no longer relies on eating people to survive, she still threatens to eat Bea when they first meet. Nevertheless, she comes off as this to the residents of the Unknown.
