This time I've begun work on the Funtimes! Starting with Funtime Freddy!
Now, I had to make some interesting choices with this character. In particular, no faceplates. Why did I make this decision? Well, in Fnaf World, Funtime Foxy has no faceplates, despite having faceplates in their appearance in Sister Location. This is likely because Fnaf World was released BEFORE Sister Location had established their design, but nonetheless, Funtime Foxy set a precedent. Additionally, I personally like to imagine Fnaf World as something that would release in-universe as promotional material for Freddy's, and I don't think they would want to highlight maintenance features like the faceplates for little 90s PC-gaming children.
From a meta perspective, I don't think faceplates look very good in Fnaf World's character design style. I tried it and it was weird. (The exterior looked odd enough I didn't feel like finishing the interior)
Maybe it's also because I don't want to worry about modeling the two endoskeletons that he has. Though if I do Yenndo, I suppose I'll end up making them anyway.
Thanks for checking out my art! Catch you on the flipside!
I've created a new enemy named Mandriller! He was designed for the construction zone seen in this old post.
I first came up with this character in December of 2022, I did concept art for them, and then I proceeded to forget about them entirely until just recently when I started working on them. The face design came to me as a mental image, I designed the rest of the character from that. Hopefully I didn't unconsciously copy it from something.
Here is that old concept art:
While studying the art style of the original FNaF World for inspiration, I came to the realization that there are a lot of different types of robots in that game. I ended up deciding on a fusion of the "block-bot" style of Boxbyte, the endo detailing and general build of Prototype, and the overall aesthetics of Security. Working on this made me realize that Scott Cawthon's style of crazy sci fi greeble is sort of hard to replicate.
Additionally, I went back and made some new animations for my previously designed enemies to give them damage animations. It was nice to work with these characters again but their un-armaturedness made it kind of a pain.
With Foxy completed, all the Rockstar animatronics have been finished! I have completed approximately 5/12ths of my party screen! Just four more characters until we reach the midway point!
To celebrate, here's a fun render with all the Rockstars together!
And here's another with the Flipside Fellas!
Probably gonna take a break from character models for a bit now, thanks for checking my stuff out!
Catch you later, gamers!
BEHOLD! Joining the ranks of Cake Bear and Balloon Bunny, I present to you: Gift Hen and Confetti Fox!
Gift Hen was a lot of fun to create, as her design is very unique. There's not a lot of good minigame Chicas to draw from, one of the only unique ones is Toy Chica's minigame from FNaF 3, (and I did consider giving her sparkling blue eyes as a reference to that, but I decided it looked weird) so I had to make up a lot. I decided to give her actual wings for arms to complement this set's cartoonier style, and I gave her the prominent two front teeth that FNaF World's Chica pioneered.
And to complete this set, Confetti Fox!
Confetti Fox is a very silly design. He's based pretty much entirely on the foxy seen in "Foxy Go Go Go!" because that version is so much more delightful in comparison to his other minigame appearances.
I was beginning to run out of ideas for party-related items for the bunch to carry, and I decided apprehensively on a confetti popper for Foxy, only to find out that confetti actually is present in Foxy Go Go Go every time you complete a section. It was a happy accident that lined up very well.
Additionally, Rockstar Chica has been completed!
She's got a very fun hurt animation, she does a little panic dance.
Rockstar Foxy is currently underway, but once he's done I'll have almost half my roster completed!
I might take a break after he's done to do some other stuff like enemies, locations, or maybe even a boss, since I've never done one of those before. (Or I might just take a break from modeling for a bit, since I've been working on these almost every day for a while now.)
Well, thanks for checking out my art! If you liked it, I've got more FNaF world content on my blog. And I've got some other art, unrelated to FNaF entirely, that's also fun! See you on the flipside!
I created a Bonnie equivalent of my Cake Bear from this post!
Unfortunately, Bonnie doesn't have many iconic Minigame appearances, nor does he have any special minigame associated objects, so I had to figure one out myself.
I based his face on the mask seen in the "Give Gifts, Give Life" minigame because, quite simply, it's hilarious and endearing. And since the bear in "Take Cake to the Children" had an unconventional, celebration-related item in his hand, I decided to do the same for Bonnie. I gave him a red balloon styled after the ones you see in the fnaf 3 minigames. He also has a very fun hurt animation.
Thanks for checking out my art! Stay tuned, there's more on the way!
I have begun work on the Rockstar animatronics, starting with Freddy and Bonnie. (Naturally.) These are some of my best animations and models so far. Rockstar Freddy has a shining model, and Rockstar Bonnie's animations are some of the most lively and fun animations I've ever made!
Modeling extra props for the characters is always a challenge, but I think I've done pretty well. Making Bonnie's guitar break was pretty difficult though.
As you can see I've also given them both damage animations as well, as I said I'd do in my last post. It's been fun to have more to do with these models after making them, and they give me an opportunity to do more interesting things with the animations than in the others. Here's hoping the other Rockstars will be as fun as these!
This time it's quality over quantity, Paper Pals (Fnaf 6) and Cake Bear from the "Take Cake to the Children" minigame.
I fused Cake Bear's design with the Freddy from the beginning of FNAF 6 because their designs are similar and they serve a similar purpose. Also the one from FNAF 6 was cuter and fit the style more. Also also, the character normally has a blur around them, but gifs can't handle alpha channels and animated pngs don't work on Tumblr.
These are my first rigged characters for this project, and it went very well. I will definitely continue to properly rig these in the future.
I have also elected henceforth to begin making "hurt" animations. To get more out of these models and to force myself to go back and optimize my old ones. (It will be painful but it will be worthwhile. Always good to get more practice doing things you don't want to do, but will appreciate once they're done.)
Thanks for checkin' out my art, see you next time!
Completed a new character for my project! This character is simply named the Dark Lord. He's the antagonist, sort of.
I'm very proud of this model. I put a lot of new things to use, and he's one of most animation-optimized characters I've ever made. Didn't feel like animating him this time, but I may later. In the meantime, enjoy these cool renders!
I've been working on lots of stuff, and learning lots in the process. I don't have much to show for it just yet, and much of what I've been working on isn't stuff I post here, but I have some old concepts and incomplete works to share, since they're currently in a state where I won't return to them for a while.
Here's a Moth named Maddy. (and some old concept art for her.)
Here's some concept art for a terraria boss for the mod idea I discussed in my previous post. It's a skeletal hydra for the marble biome. (It functions like Turkor the Ungrateful, who I have loved dearly for many years despite him being removed from Terraria, mostly for his entirely unique boss style.)
Here's a proper humanoid model I've been working on.
Here's a house interior I was crafting for Bugtown, it was my first time making an interior in this style. (I'm not so great at decorating.)
Here are some nice models I did a long time ago trying to mimic the style of the gamecube - mainly Luigi's Mansion - for a game concept I had about a haunted summer camp:
Working on a large project that I refuse to post about until its release, but it's my primary goal right now, so here's some stuff I made in the past!
Just a fair warning though, there's some terraria fan content in here with some fleshy organ stuff so if that makes you uncomfortable you may not want to check this one out
This here's a fan boss I designed for a Terraria mod concept I've been working on with a friend. "The Lungs of Cthulhu"
(Note, gameplay image is an edit and is not real gameplay. There is currently no actual mod being created, just concept art and planning.)
They're an early hardmode boss that slows down world evil spread when defeated.
Here's an aphid design for Bugtown! Aphids in this world are like Rabbits mixed with small dogs. They're the most popular type of pet in this bug universe I've been building.
That's all I have to show off for now. Here's hoping you'll have heaps to hear from me in the future!
I'll be away for a bit so here's some art in the meantime!
Here's a cool image I made for funsies. Designed to look like box art for a nonexistent computer brand from the 2000s. Cool trivia for this: It was the first thing I made after reinstalling windows on my PC.
Here's a big beefy scarecrow guy I designed for my animation project,
Here's a dwarf ranger for the same project,
And here's a cool evil knight.
Thanks for checking out my art! See you when I see you!
This is the most animation I've ever done! WOOO! A NON-LOOPING GIF ANIMATION! WOOO! It turned out really good and I'm very happy and very sleepy because I stayed up late to make this.
Thank you for checking out my cool blog, stay tuned for more as I continue to learn more about animation and modeling!
I've crafted a new character in this old-school N64 RPG style!
Why yes I did take design inspiration from Noelle from Deltarune.
Now that I can make good armatures, animation has become much simpler. Still difficult, but leagues easier than before. I can also change her face texture with keyframes, which is a very new thing I'm trying out. I'm working on a short demo project that you may see here If that goes well.
I wanted to redo Speter's model because the old one didn't have an armature which made animation excruciatingly difficult compared to how it is with an armature. I also took the opportunity while remodeling to make some other interesting changes, so he has a fantastic new set of properly-inset-eyes that can be controlled in numerous fantastic ways.
He also has a new set of clothes, the colors of which can be easily changed due to the way I set them up. And finally, the most obvious change, his fur colors have gone from gray to brown. This was because his gray color scheme was a remnant of the mostly-black-and-white show he was originally designed for. Since he's based on a jumping spider, I figured it was about time to change his color to brown. It was very odd for me to see him in a new color for the first time.
Thanks for checking out my art, hope y'all like it and/or get inspiration for your own!
Benny is a Butterfly fella who's one of Speter's friends. He's very energetic (probably because he has some undiagnosed stuff) and he's very jokey (probably as a coping mechanism for his depression and general poor mental health.) He lives in a rather neglectful home. His parents are extreme hoarders and they don't buy him new clothes so he has to borrow from his Uncle's old collection. He sleeps in the garage of his house because all the rooms he could've lived in instead are filled with random garbage. But he doesn't let that keep him down, and he does his best to live well in spite of that.
This character is by far the most technically impressive and educational model I've made. I learned:
A dozen new shortcuts
Incredibly useful ways to utilize the 3D cursor
Some new stuff about material nodes
IK Constraints
Some anatomy stuff (Like better hands)
Armature Construction
Rigging
A bit more of Walk Cycles
The name of the Running Man dance (Which I attempted to animate, but it kinda just ended up making a really good normal walk cycle with fist pumping)
Overall, this is my favorite one. The clothes are the best I've done, the production quality is higher, and it has brand new limb shaders and NEW HANDS that are FAR superior to my previous ones.
As you can see, Benny's Hand is a major improvement in many ways.
For instance, the lovely thenar muscle group thingamajig is at the base of the thumb now, and it flexes properly and everything, giving the hand a more realistic look.
It's also got better shapes, (no more rectangle fingers,) and sports the 4 fingers started by Garrison rather than the 3 of Speter and (sir not-appearing-in-this-demonstration) Penelope. I think it'll probably be that way for all the characters going forward, it looks better and I only did 3 fingers initially because I was afraid of stepping out of my comfort zone more than I already had.
You can also see the cool shader on display that highlights the edges of the shapes. The shader was created so that Benny's hands would stick out from the black of his wings, but will also most likely be applied to all future characters, because it helps your eyes recognize the limbs easier, and it looks freakin' sweet.
Anyway thanks for reading me nerd out about 3D modeling and my characters for a long time. Until next time!
