It's such a simple moment, but I like that Buffy and Spike don't need to actually talk in Wrecked to communicate that he should get Dawn to the hospital. It's also a nice nod to his promise to take care of her "until the end of the world."

surprise is such a good episode for the vampire crowd like it rly takes the season one, half - baked soul lore of ' its a demon and it takes ur body but ur not really the human version of yourself thats dead ' and sort of puts that idea in a box and shakes it up bc the judge's first words to spike and dru are "u two stink of humanity u share AFFECTION 🥺 and jealousy" but then meets angelus and is like oh yeah .. there's not a spec of humanity on this one and to me .. to me ... that's just chefs kiss like what makes them different ? and like its LOVE 🥺

finished angel: after the fall and i'm still thinking about how angel will always choose his own suffering if it serves the greater good, while spike chooses to suffer for individuals he loves.
like angel would put himself through hell if it meant saving the world or another person, even a stranger. and spike would find that stupid, and angel would find that reaction selfish, but also spike would put himself through the exact same shit if It Was For Love.
obviously the spangel angle (the spangle angle, if you will) i'm getting at is that angel would sacrifice himself for the greater good (selfless, heroic), and spike would perceive that as the selfish, coldhearted move because it places the survival of the world over their relationship (unthinkable!). because spike would probably have damned the entire world to hell for him! and he'd probably put himself through unthinkable trials to bring him back orpheus style.
god! sometimes it is just about two dudes who will willingly choose to suffer.

au: buffy and faith are in a pop rock band called The Slayers. buffy is the lead singer, faith plays the bass and does backing vocals. faith keeps fucking every single person in their band and their crew and buffy isn’t jealous. when they Do they together they’re absolutely obnoxious and faith keeps spilling things about their private life on stage with a smirk and a wink and buffy is really embarrassed but also thinks faith’s super hot while she’s doing it, so she doesn’t mind that much.

One time I was washing dishes and this fly was bugging me, and when it peacefully sat down on my window ledge I took the knife I was washing and stabbed it right through Its fly chest. The guilt that immediately struck me due to my horrific actions has not left my mind since that fateful day.

Once again I am imploring the collective Buffy fandom On Here to realize that being the "trope namer" on a website founded in 2004 by a bunch of online Buffy fans does not mean in any sense that Buffy the Vampire Slayer invented the narrative device of somebody being resurrected from the dead and "coming back wrong" and it is very silly (and frankly kind of annoying) to keep implying that it does. The TVTropes website itself explicitly makes the point that being the trope namer does not mean being the first to use the trope! There are examples of this particular narrative device thousands of years older than Buffy on the TVTropes website itself. Dying and coming back to life as a vampire at all is already an example of coming back wrong! Not does it mean that the show was the first to ever use this simple three word, three syllable phrase. It just means that the group of Buffy fans who liked talking about Buffy and comparing it to other shows and who founded TVTropes.org to keep doing that picked an example from Buffy to name the page. And that's all it means!

I hate it when Willow tells Tara she’s nothing special, but I can also see why she thinks that. Xander never fully reciprocated her feelings and then Oz leaves her. To make matters worse, all of that happens while seemingly every other guy in Sunnydale has a crush on her best friend.

Once More, With Feeling’ allows all the characters to confess truthfully with the exception of Willow because Willow doesn’t believe she needs to confess anything. She doesn’t think she is in the wrong for what she does to both Buffy and Tara until Buffy and Tara straight up tell her that she is. Willow is completely oblivious to her own abusive and manipulative behaviour towards her loved ones. To her, the intention is to help them, to make things better between them…
So Willow doesn’t get a song of confession or honesty not just because Alyson Hannigan can’t sing and they didn’t wanna dub her, but because she doesn’t think she needs to confess anything. It’s not wrong to her until she’s told that it is. And even then, she still doesn’t really understand why it is. Willow is self-entitled. So it’s hard for her to grasp why her willow-ing situations is a selfish or wrongful act. She also doesn’t get to duet with Tara because Tara’s love song is about how Willow has affected her character. It’s not meant to be a love song between the both of them. Just Tara’s love song. Kinda ironic that this character is called Willow and almost her entire arc is about her “willing” things her way. Or clever. It’s an appropriate name. And her nickname is shortened to 'Will’. Even better. This character’s arc is all about having her “Will” be done.
Similar to Warren or Glory or even Spike to some degree, although he is well aware that he is being selfish and wrong and evil. Willow doesn’t get it. She gets it with other characters but not herself. It’s not the same to her.
GILES: “Oh, there are others in this world who can do what you did. You just don’t want to meet them.”
WILLOW: “No, probably not, but… well, they’re the bad guys. I’m not a bad guy.”
They say there is no BIG BAD of Season 6... but to me... Willow is absolutely the BIG BAD of Season 6. I refuse to believe otherwise. Yes, I love the character. I also love my mother. I’m still not going to excuse her mistreatment of me because I love her. It doesn’t work that way. People have to be called out for what they are and what they do regardless of the relation. People that have no handbrakes on their behaviour are the hardest to convince of being in the wrong for it because to them it’s not wrong to behave that way. And when they’re called out - they immediately go on the defensive and they turn it around to them being the ones violated or victimized. Gaslighters, manipulators, abusers are all like this. All act like this. And in Season 6, Willow is so powerful and so self-entitled that she believes that every time she is attacked by her loved ones for her behaviour it’s either because they’re jealous of her or they don’t understand her.
That they’re making her the villain.
But the truth is that she is the villain!
And she doesn’t recognize that. Of course she doesn’t. Her egomania won’t allow her to recognize it. Only in others. And of course - she doesn’t start out that way. She’s a very good and gentle-natured person. But the seeds are there - and all it takes is one bad day for them to grow into full embodiments of violence and destruction. That is Willow’s arc. That’s why she’s such a profound character in the Buffyverse - or, in my opinion, all of TV history. She’s a flawed character that is allowed to be a flawed character. She's very quietly morally grey and I absolutely love her for that.

Buffy heard the front door slam and fast footsteps up the stairs. Elena was home. Last night's patrol had gotten out of hand and Buffy was apparently more bruised up than she had ever been since moving to Mystic Falls. Of course, Elena noticed and freaked out asking Buffy what happened. The more Buffy insisted nothing happened, the more upset Elena got. While Elena was out, Buffy had spent all day trying to figure out how to explain her bruises to her. The best she could come up with was that she took MMA or something like that. When she heard Elena's door close, Buffy decided that now was the time, but when she stepped into the hallway, Elena's door opened a little and then was slammed shut. Buffy sped-walked to the door and was about knock when she heard Stefan's voice from the other side.
"I would never hurt you. You're safe with me."
Knowing she should probably kick the door down, Buffy just listened to the two teens talk. Apparently, Damon was behind the "animal attacks," but Stefan only drank animal blood. The Salvatore brothers were vampires. Buffy felt stupid for not seeing it before. She should've at least known that Damon was a vampire due to the bite marks on Caroline's neck. But, Stefan never raised any red flags. Elena was bite free and any time she was in his vision, Buffy saw his eyes turn into cartoon hearts. It was easy to see he was in love with her. How was she supposed to know that there were good vampires other than Angel and Spike?

Now, Stefan was begging Elena not to tell anyone because knowing was dangerous. That's the exact reason why Buffy kept what she really was a secret. But, Elena was now officially part of this world. Thanks, Stefan. "I never wanted this," Buffy heard Stefan say. Now, Buffy just felt bad for the poor guy. She knew Stefan would never hurt Elena. After a while, Buffy went to knock on the door, but didn't have to because the door swung wide open and she came face-to-face with Elena. "I'm sorry," she said, checking over Elena's shoulder for Stefan, but he'd gone. "I just...I need to talk to you. It's really important. Can I come in?" Elena knew vampires existed. There was no reason to lie to her anymore.
