After 4 years of being on hiatus we wanted to officially acknowledge that our filmmaking collective has disbanded.
We are so proud of all the work we made, and we loved sharing it with you all. Your gifs, analysis, letters, writing, art, and comments made us feel so lucky. Creating these stories was such a special time in our lives and we can’t thank you enough for being a part of it. We could not have made our 5 webseries in 5 years without your awhi, love, and support. We will be forever grateful for the support of our Kickstarters which allowed us to continue making series, and never forget our fandles or flamangoes.
While as a collective we have gone our separate ways, we are all continuing to be creative folks and if you follow our various social media you will see what we get up to next.

We will continue to post as The Candle Wasters from time to time — NMTD turns 10 next year and we’ll be sure to acknowledge that!
Finally, we are releasing several videos from our YouTube Drafts as part of the final updates to the Kickstarters for Lovely Little Losers and Bright Summer Night. You will see these on your feed. After that, we will not be releasing any further original content on YouTube as The Candle Wasters, though there will be other updates from us as individuals from time to time. For more details on the Kickstarter, please see the Final Updates on each Kickstarter.
Thank you all for joining us on this journey!
Lots of love, ngā mihi,
Claris, Elsie, Minnie, Robbie, and Sally

Aaaand spoilers ahead I GUESS but here are some of my fav lines because everyone should at all times remember who the best writer ever is. Anyway.
Trapper studied him. Hawkeye looked away, like he’d been commanded to, like he’d been Orpheus walking back from Hell and not from the showers in the early morning light.
Erin wondered if Hawkeye had ever had a summer like this, or Dad, or Mom, or Margaret: a summer where it felt like everyone was against you, and you couldn’t be bothered to care.
Watching his wife do a cartwheel was like having his whole world flip over, just for a moment. He’d keep realizing he was looking at her the wrong way until it was all over.
“You’re everything to me, and sometimes I get the idea that I could be anyone to you,” BJ said.
“You know he’d look at you like you hung the moon even if you were wearing a trash bag, Pierce,” Margaret said, fiddling with his collar.
“So you think I look like garbage?” he said.
And of course:
“Going to the dance without you would be like if the Beatles did a show without Paul,” Benny said.
...Means that you meet people on the worst day of their lives.
A colleague of mine said this over the weekend, which was a very rough weekend for me in so many ways. My patients were complex and very sick. The families were challenging. So. Incredibly. Challenging.
I see the worst things that can happen to people. Every. Day. I am able to push it out most of the time. Some times, there is a true shit storm of circumstances that emotionally bankrupts me. That was this weekend for me.
I think it is sometimes easy to forget how vulnerable patients and families are in the ICU. It's easy to forget it is the worst day of their lives. And when these families can't control the illness of their loved one, I think they look for literally anything they can control. Sometimes that results in verbal abuse about policies, staff, and treatment. It can be so hard to deal with this. The amount of patience it takes is astronomical.
I will freely admit that I am very detached. You almost HAVE to be to a certain extent to DO the job. But even the most detached people have a breaking point.
It makes me grateful for every family that simply thanks me for my time. Every colleague that "gets it". Every person willing to listen to me when I am going home from work.
So, to all you health care people that struggle with this as I do, we've got this. Some how, we've got it.
I want to have a BSN but at the same time working 7 on 7 off nightshift and doing two weeks of homework in a week after working 89 hours sucks. These ethics papers that don't have any clear answers and just sucky situations. Patho has so many case studies and stupid discussion boards

Lebron James went to see my hometown basketball team play the the first game in the finals. Lebron James flew to PR to my city, Bayamón, on a stadium that can only fit up to 12k people to see MY team in MY stadium play. That’s awesome. He’s gonna hear the “fuaaaas” when they score 3s or dunks, very Puerto Rican basketball culture
