When it comes to self-awareness and creating a purpose driven life, it helps to understand who you are. This can be done by acknowledging your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Though this may sound emotionally exhausting, it’s quite simple if practiced correctly. Start by writing down your thoughts, feelings, and goals on a daily basis. This can be easily accomplished by writing in a daily journal or carving out a section in your weekly planner. This way you can begin to discover personal patterns and establish your core values. Finding your “why” starts with uncovering your true strengths and igniting your passions. Understanding what excites you will ultimately lead to what motivates you!

😫 There's plenty of things in life to stress about; studying shouldn't be one of them. If you're studying for a test, you should review the material several days ahead of time in as many different forms as possible. 1. Review your notes 2. Write flashcards 3. Take practice tests 4. Review the material with your study group 5. Teach the topic to a friend By making a plan and managing your time, you can ensure you're prepared for any test that comes your way. It should be obvious that procrastination is not an effective studying technique. Set yourself up for success by getting organized and prioritizing what needs to get done. Any project or test can be conquered by dividing your work into manageable chunks, so you don't have to cram.

Often times we don’t have a problem with making the choice to be happy. Choosing to be happy is the easy part. The hard part is knowing how to execute this decision on a daily basis. We all heard the saying, “misery loves company.” Meaning that unhappy people find solace in surrounding themselves with other unhappy people like them. The problem with this is that once you find yourself surrounded by negativity, it can be hard to get back into a positive state of mind. With that being said, let’s use today to focus on positive self-talk that’s rooted in optimism. Practice giving thanks for all that’s gone right and take the time to value all that we have.. Positivity over negativity. You’ll be amazed with how much your day can change!

In this day and age, it’s easy to get sidetracked when trying to complete an assignment. We’re consistently being inundated with distractions and sometimes those distractions can get the best of us. Unfortunately, when it comes to school and work, not giving yourself enough time to complete an assignment can result in a great deal of stress.
A minor change that makes a big impact is to create a to-do-list. The to-do-list is a great way to organize and prioritize your tasks at hand and hold yourself accountable. The to-do-list should list exact dates and times focusing on realistic goals that are spaced out proportionately. This way you can achieve what you set out to do. To overcome procrastination, you first have to recognize that it’s happening. Once recognized, you can now work towards fixing it!

Leadership can be transitioned to so many areas in our lives. Leader of your family. Leader in the classroom. Leader of an organization. Leader of your team. Whatever it may be, after reading this book, there is no doubt that these 4 laws can be applied across the board. Always work as a team, don’t make things complex, learn what takes priority, and use your power to share it and build others instead.
