Wow, haven’t done one of these in so long, thank you so much @aroturier for tagging me ;)
Historical or Futuristic
I will say, depends on the fandom. I may have written a futuristic fic once, but it’s mostly historical or contemporary. I like historical settings a lot, and I like researching for fics too.
Opening or Closing Chapter
Hard to say, but I guess opening chaps always come with the excitement of something new, while the closing ones make me a little sad as that journey is ending, no matter how happy the ending is. Also, sometimes my endings feel (at least to me) somewhat abrupt/awkward, especially if I’ve been dragging a fic for a long while and my interest in the fandom/pairing has dwindled (faithful like an incubus, me 🙈)
Light & Fluffy or Dark and Gritty
Dark and gritty with a silver lining, I will say, and things will usually get really bad before they will get good. And crack will inevitably seep into everything :))))))) #beingagemini
Animal Companion or Found Family
Definitely both. I’d say more found family in my fics, but when there are pets around, they’re important.
Horror or Romance
Both. Together. Dark romance. Troublesome, unholy, unwholesome (?). Never boring :)))
Hard Magic or Soft Magic System
Not sure what that means, I’m gonna say flexible magic system. No sparkly vamps on my shift though :P
Stand-Alone or Series
My muse be like “let’s do a one-shot of XXXX” and then it ends up a multi-chap because we just can’t part with it. So series it is, most of the time.
One project at a Time or Always Juggling 2+
‘One project at a time‘ would be great, only I’m not so disciplined/faithful so I always end up complicating my life with at least 2.
One Award Winner or One Bestseller
Eh, we’re hardly there either way. More like niche, I’d say. I also often find myself enjoying minor characters or rare pairings, or rare plots, so that’s that.
Fantasy or Sci-Fi
Fantasy (and if we can build a whole dystopia, even better)
Character Description or Setting Description
Both, I believe they’re equally important. Details are very important to me and they can be very meaningful, they can be used to convey a lot of things.
First Draft or Final Draft
Truth be told, the muse & I are lazy af, so we rarely edit. I re-read to make sure there’s no typo or grammar mishap and also that it ‘sounds’ the way I want it to, but I rarely get to re-write something (unless I decide it’s absolute crap and I hate it).

Happy Storyteller Saturday! Hope you're having a great day! This one's a bit deep but, what was the inspiration for your WIPs? Were you inspired by a movie, a book, or something else? Did it just come to you out of nowhere?
yesss thank u for giving me the opportunity to ramble abt this!! :D (WARNING: I have a lot of WIPs)
The Clone Story (self explanatory lol) - inspired by the Double Dipper episode of Gravity Falls. I thought they did Tyrone so dirty in that episode, I wanted to write a story where a clone was the protagonist (and the original was the villain!)
TLBTC (superhero story) - inspired by being bored af in a college visit during the height of Marvel Movieness™ around 2016.
Escape Train (1980s post-apocalypse) - came to me in a dream! a very vivid and plot-heavy dream I had about a bunch of ppl traveling on a train in a dystopian society, after reading The Handmaid's Tale all in 1 sitting the night before. I started writing it as an exercise in jumping into writing instead of getting stuck being a perfectionist in planning, so much of the worldbuilding and character choices were made out of pure, unfiltered self indulgence :P
Divine Rights (baroque fantasy + robots) - inspired by my European History AND my "magic, science, and religion" classes freshman year of college, while I was pulling an all-nighter for a history essay :P the plot is loosely inspired by the Portuguese revolution for independence against Spain. the Strata (AI god) is inspired by the fact that tech bros put so much faith in fallible technology.
Prince of Fates (nature-y fairy tale) - also came to me in a dream, but inspired by those illustrated, dreamy books of fairy-tales. particularly the Grishaverse fairy tale book, The Language of Thorns. I usually read a story out of that book before I sit down to write this one :)
Vampire Vampire Slayer (comedy, vampires, high school in the 1950s) - there was a pic on tumblr I wish I could find of a 1950s greaser looking vampire dude in front of a blue car that said like "vampires bite back" or whatever and IMMEDIATELY the entire story of a dude who got turned into a vampire against his will but now hunts vampires spawned into my brain. also this dude loves his car more than life itself. very cool very himbo very inaccurate depiction of the 1950s
nDOT (YA dystopia feat. robots) - I have NO clue where nDOT came from. like in general it was inspired by 2010s YA dystopia trends (The Hunger Games, Divergent, etc). but the actual story and the robot elements? no clue. idk. it just spawned into existence one day I wasn't writing it and then suddenly I was, forevermore :P

Oooof alright
So funny thing is that after high school I didnt read too much, so let's dredge up some memories.
1) Allegiant (The Rage I Have At This Book Is Endless)
2) A Farewell to Arms (Bored AF by all of it. There were themes there I know but god I do not gel with Ernest Hemingway)
3) Crimson Crown, the final book of the Seven Realms series. (It's been forever but I remember absolutely hating the ending. Yelled out in the middle of the cafeteria. It's probably not a bad book but I Dont Like It).
4) Heart of Darkness (Don't remember anything about it but I remember a vague feeling I'd dislike)
5) The Selection series/The Chosen series (Both both of these series... they are the epitome of Missing The Point of the Hunger Games. The rebellions are just... background to the romance in both. The Selection series is literally "the Bachelor but dystopia". They're so dumb, teenage me liked them for some reason, idk why, but looking back I'm just "why, why the fuck to you exist")
So... that's my list. Not sure how to feel about it. Meh

Person: But why did fictional story have to get political? It's fiction!
Me: All writers have a point of view, stories would be boring otherwise. For example, Lord of the Rings isn't an allegory for any real life war, but Tolkien absolutely had Opinions about war in general, how could he not? As another example, the girl power dialogue in a hypothetical superhero movie might be cringe af, but have you not noticed that the modern American superhero mythos began as empowerment fantasies for the disenfranchised? Overt politics is not an automatic misstep for superheroes. Whether the politics is written well and whether or not you agree with the politics of the story are different discussions from whether or not story should be politicized. You're not required to care about any story whose message you disagree with, even for stories that bank on nostalgia (it's not like the original is going to be stolen from you) or for stories that are interconnected with stories you do like (Wikipedia exists and can fill you in on neccessary plot points). If a story is truly bad and not just politically controversial, it will die on its own. If the story truly spawns a dystopia because of its politics, you have much bigger problems. Whining just makes you look like a whiner.

You aren't going to win an award for yelling about the meaning of a story on social media (In fact, I don't think critics win awards at all, all awards I could find with the word "critic" in them are for content creators or investigative journalists). 2) There is a difference between "problematic" and "the rules established in-universe don't allow for a 1-1 comparison irl", the author actually has written that character consistently as the good guy. 3) There are other factors that go into making a story compelling beyond providing a didactic message. Sometimes, the life lessons the story provide exist outside the boundaries of the narrative and you actually have to think a minute about what they are. There is no need to panic when you or someone else likes a character or story that doesn't exactly fit in with what you believe. Scrambling to explain that "supposed" cognitive dissonance may cause you to miss out on the actual value of the story. 4) You view stories as a gameshow in which your favorite either wins the "prize" or they don't. The "prize" is either something that your favorite character wants but shouldn't have (you thought the conflicts were the obstacles to achieving the "prize", you never picked up that the author always intended for the conflict to be the "prize" itself), or the "prize" is something valued in the story or the genre but not by your favorite character themselves. If you think the author botched the meaning it is because you didn't get the meaning. And if you didn't get the meaning, that's fine, you didn't "lose." Like I said for Group 1, there is no award at stake here. 5) All of you need to take a critical theory class, or at least learn the logical fallacies.

I am honestly a bit shy on the input but if I found a ground to start letting my imagination loose ( like , something in common between characters or something that clicks well with my muse ) I can suggest several things . but in any case , I’m pretty passive and it’s a lot of gives and takes .

Tel Aviv 2019: Straight outta Iceland to Eurovision with a plan to end capitalism... with cakes!

Meanwhile, in Iceland...
Iceland’s a peaceful nation, innit? So calm, so serene, they wouldn’t even want to squish a fly and would rather wish it a nice day if they were personified as a whole. Except that they’re actually not quite and firstly reacted rather massively negatively on the news of Israel going up for to host Eurovision 2019, even with 23,000 Icelanders signing a petition calling on the Icelandic national broadcaster to boycott the contest, and even the big Söngvakeppnin 2017 darling Daði Freyr signed it. I admire their courage but broadcasters are broadcasters and if they take proverbial decisions and later are fine with everything, I don’t see why wouldn’t try participating anyways, and THEN withdraw if there are issues with something, like last minute call from EBU to get their shit together with funding or a faulty national final contract...
Well, fuck your protests, RÚV said, and went ahead with another Söngvakeppnin edition in the works.
And boy I assume the protest was large af if only 10 entries ended up being chosen for the final cut... what was Iceland gonna do? Have 4 finalists in total? Well no, someone was gonna get a wildcard to round up the finalists in the end.
But enough about that. Out of all of those 10 acts, full of mostly okay songs, we saw a clear win for the ones and only - it's the anti-capitalist award winning techno BDSM bondage unicorn soft boy couple goals kids loving sprinkles and rainbows performance art project group Hatari that went and enjoyed their time in Tel Aviv already, with their kick-ass song, "Hatrið mun sigra".
And oh boy was it an exciting pick for Iceland. Do you remember their last year's entry? Well, this year Iceland decided to shit all over their love and peace mindset by presenting us with series of bold statements like "Life is meaningless!", "Happiness comes to an end!", "Europe will crumble!"... right after the year they were all about the choice we could make to help and to heal in different ways. Feels though as if we should have swapped the entries because with "Hatrið mun sigra"'s events coming to life, "Our Choice" sounds like an aftermath because with happiness ending, so are people's stabilities, and too many would indeed be dying in vain. And how the world is starting to learn all over again about the acceptance of one another, and all that. It truly is Ari in the streets and Hatari in the sheets. ;)
Let's take a minute to appreciate the entry itself though. It opens up with eerie buzzes, off-measure beat and a warning "huh!" shout, that leads us all into this beautiful musical kingdom. Its instrumental is badass. It's one hypnotic techno tune that could easily be used in a car commercial. Or a catwalk. Or a glorious boss fight in an 8 bit game. What makes it more unique is the vocal balance - Hatari's core force are the two cousins Matthías and Klemens, who created the band and recruited their friends to help them on tours I suppose, and now the friends are here with them in Tel Aviv. The thing that makes it somewhat eyebrow raising, despite being a damn fine techno piece, is the instant screaming of the lyrics in the verses (courtesy of Matthías) and the light angel-esque vocal sound that's kinda reminiscent of Sigur Rós's Jónsi (courtesy of Klemens). Yin-yang if you will. A subtle balance of the two, and even the Icelandic meme mother Morges pointed it out that if it were only Matthías's growls on the song or Klemens's falsetto, it would sound too much and people would be bored by it.
Other than this song being perfectly composed (even with including a god damn keychange) and making me wanna dance, there's an image tying it all together. I did say it earlier that one part of Hatari's many descriptions is BDSM and bondage. And this definitely is there on their imagery, especially on the Icelandic NF. The boxes, the choreography, the color red, the backgrounds... everything on here is life. The way Matthías gets one of the Hatari dancers by the neck at the very end of their NF performance is just... unexplainably flawless. Go watch it here.
Some might say that this whole thing is more reminiscent of AWS from last year, but this isn't quite true. AWS were simple boys with nothing much in mind for Eurovision other than to make a "typical metal show". Hatari are here with a proper message to dismantle capitalism. AWS were just fun, Hatari are both fun and condescending. AWS didn't really have all that buzz going on for themselves in the odds, Hatari are still sitting in bookies top 10 as of now. AWS didn't prepare anything shocking for the audiences other than playing really loud and the scream breakdown only coming in on the bridge of the song. Hatari is full on onto you with everything - the costumes, the words, and so on, and the screaming is already on with them verses. And Hatari have way more chances to be memorable than AWS by being completely outstanding in everything. We love bondage kings singing in Icelandic (the language's 2nd appearance in Eurovision from an Icelandic song in this decade, first time it happened in 2013). We truly do. (And so do I still love the AWS boys, don't mind me.)
So as a whole I'd like to say that I really, REALLY adore this. It's expressive, it's divisive, it's brave, it doesn't care if you hate it, it's there and it's divine. I didn't really piece my thoughts well together on this, but I will forever find a lot of nice things to say on it, after all this time, always. ♡ The whole team and the whole marketing from Iceland Music News is perfect. The song is perfect. The composition is perfect. The chorus and the chorus lyrics are love. The performance... could use some good camerawork, but still. I'm crying at how much this is beautiful. Iceland's alternative scene is banging and them finally submitting something from one of its many outskirts among all of those pop songs is a victory on its own. Love, love, love Hatari. I bow down to these great people for existing and ending up on Eurovision.
Now tell me, how are you not going to love a band that was noticed by Icethony Landtano himself? ★
And how are you not going to love a band that loves children? And cakes? If you don’t, then shame on you, really. ;p
Approval factor: no. ....... way I’m not going to approve this ;) I want more epic Iceland after that, too.
Follow-up factor: Actually, that's the best possible way of approval I've ever seen. It's a complete 180 of an entry jump that it's impossible to believe the angel Ari came before Hatari. Good job, Iceland! Keep going that good way!
Qualification factor: Well, this is a case of all or nothing, where an entry is so loudly and proudly different that you don't know exactly where is it gonna place. If AWS had some sort of struggles to qualify (they were 4 fucking points over Romania last year), so would have Hatari, but only if the televote doesn't give them enough love against the jury's hatred. But for now I'd remain extremely and utterly positive over the boys. =) The final will hear of that song about the dystopia, the power and powerlessness, the hope and hopelessness, and that if we don't remember to love, the hatred will prevail and the capitalism will overwhelm the world. (so I secretly hope for them to win too haha)
NATIONAL FINAL BONUS
Honestly, thank you RÚV for making Söngvakeppnin 2019 happen despite the petition. I love it how a band with the most shocking atmosphere won - kinda embodies the feeling of most of this nation's about what's going in Israel and Palstine. But no more on that. I'll not discuss that anymore. It's highlights time:
• At this point, who needs NF highlights if Hatari are highlights themselves. ♥ I love a token unphased contestant - the one that minds one's own business by not being overly happy - in fact, most of the things that occured to Hatari are, in their own words, "according to plan"! So they're all like, "yeah we entered and thanks to us being here, we're definitely winning this, and will definitely win Eurovision after winning that". Them drinking SodaDream in their tracksuits and not giving a single fuck about the surroundings, especially after being announced as qualifiers to the NF final, was an absolute #mood. They even were amazing on a show named 12stig (where Icelandic NF participants are talking about what will they do in the NF, what will they do if they make it to Tel Aviv after winning, etc.), with Matthías basically serving as the spokesperson for Klemens's piece of mind, and then them both doing a hand gesture,.. Communicating through one's whispers being voiced by a mastermind. Sounds like a horror movie concept.
• And no, I didn't love Hatari only - there was this one joyful great love pop song bearer finalist Tara Mobee whose song I liked. Other favourite acts include this indie blues number by a Faroese madame Kristina Skoubo, a silly pop/dance perfection by Daníel Óliver and a country-ish flavoured folk-ish pop song by Ívar Daníels. Granted they're too tame in comparison to Hatari, but they could have been other great alternatives for Eurovision! Unlike the two returning artists that competed... Hera Björk being one of them... she signed the petition against Iceland in 2019 Eurovision FFS! and yet she's here with her mind changed??
• Ari Ólafsson returning for a both winner reprise AND an epic and unexpected take on "Grande amore", one of the beloved Italian entries. Can't believe that actually became a thing but... here you go I suppose? Flawless vocals. If anyone deserves to repeat their ESC stint from Iceland, it's Ari.

• Other highlights of the final night were Yohanna reprising her 2nd placer smash hit "Is It True?" 10 years later and even doing an Icelandic "Shallow" cover with the hosts ❤ and even Selma from Jerusalem 1999 fame came on the show too, but only in the green room!
• That one time I saw Friðrik Ómar (one of the two returning artist potential contestants) wearing a Freddie Mercury shirt ❤
• This honest to God mess of a performance and honest to God mess of a song. The song was a football anthem from 00s ripoff, the guy looked like Lil Pump and sounded annoying ("BLÆ BLÆ BLÆ"), the girls were salvageable, the chorus is cute and the performance? "So how many colors and dancers do you want?" "Yes." I hated it but 'twas fun I s'pose.
• I loved laughing at certain things of Söngvakeppnin, like the random insert of all the other contestants into ads and a lot of times I had to see the recap of all the (super)finalists. That's the only non-musical highlight I have aside from postcards, sorry Eleni. ❤ Your repeat performance of "Fuego"/"Tómame" from the Spanish NF and your trashbag dresses were still sleek tho.
Think that's all I'm gonna talk about. For now I would just love to end this by saying that Hatari might be scary, but children indeed love them (a lot of Hatari support posters in the NF were held by children, some of them teens even had bondage masks lol. Besides, 2 of the main members (if you count the band’s drummer Einar alongside the main members list) have kids on their own so it's understandable). Hatari might be impudent, but it attracts some people who love crazy in Eurovision. Hatari might be too political, but they're here in Tel Aviv to raise awareness, not to outright fucking protest - they know their goddamn limits, okay?? So for now, I'd just like to wish everyone involved in Iceland's entry the best in their life and to know that they contributed to one of the best things that happened to Eurovision. Only the eternal glory to the Icelandic lords and saviours. HATRED CAN AND WILL PREVAIL, END OF.

Oooh ! Interesting ! Basically, I’m not a big big big fan of AUs. I know it’s stupid because there a lot of wonderful AUs fics (which I read and I love !). But what I mean is… I won’t read AUs at first sight. I have to tell me : “Ok, give it a try at least”. And I always end up by loving them.
ANYWAY ! What AU would I love to read uh ? Let me think… I’d love to read a very realistic AU for sure. Oh yes I know ! An historic AU ! But not too old. WW2 or WW1 AU where Lucas has to go to the war and he meet Eliott which is a deserter. They could run away together (homosexuality at this time… God, they HAVE to go away). Can you guess I love angst ? ^^ But there would be a happy end. I don’t know how but… There would be a lot of angst of course but lot of fluff and big romantic scene. Smut too even if… No I won’t make any joke now, it’s too soon. Oh yes, I’d love to read this AU for sure…

I mean, fair and I won't begrudge him that, and it's less about him and more about the entire idea of this type of "psychological horror" that literally just ends up being "rape horror"? It's boring. I have another book called “Teufel, Satan, Luzifer” by Gerald Messadriè that I’m reading bit by bit. It’s originally a French book about the “Universal history of Evil”. Let’s see how that plays out XD

Not finish... a BOOK? Damn... I don’t think I do that very often... let me see if I can remember one.
Does the Bible count? I mean, I knew the ending so I lost interest kinda... other than that I don’t think I remember any unfinished books. I tend to finish them all sooner or later.
6. What are your favorite books from your childhood?
I absolutely loved “Monsters In My Pocket” and really think about getting it for my son too XD It’s a book on monsters and where they live and, most important, how you can fight them ^^ Very cool. I also loved Fairytale books, especially those by Andersen and the Brothers Grimm. The original versions though, not the disneyfied ones XD Those were boring me.
7. Current favorite books?
Even if it’s been a while since I read it: “High Rise” by J. G. Ballard. It’s twisted, it’s crazy and even if it was hard to read due to some very interesting vocabulary, I really enjoyed it. Another one is “The Dome” by King and, as always “IT” by King ^^ Still hoping to get my paws on an English First Edition one day XD
IF audio books count, I loved the Day by Day Armageddon book 1 by J.L. Bourne & Ronald M. Hahn , couldn’t continue listening to the others yet but I will. I mean, the German voice of Johnny Depp reads them, that’s a damn awesome experience in itself ^^

9. Your opinion on rereading books;
I do it all the time / has to be a really good book/I can’t stand it/I haven’t done it since I was a child/I only reread my favorite sections/should be done with caution
There are certain books I will reread again and again. For example, I usually once a year reread the Harry Potter books. No idea why, but sometimes I just want to. The same goes for “The Stand” by King. I LOVE rereading that one, can’t get enough XD
10. How long does it take you to read one book on average?
1 to 3 days/a week/a few weeks/about a month/several months/one day up to several months, completely depending on how busy I am/depends on which book im reading
Depending on how easy I get into reading and how much time I have it usually goes pretty fast. I finished “IT” a while ago in a week, would have been three days if I would have had more time XD I read fast most of the time. The English books I have now take a bit longer, but the experience is very interesting, so I don’t mind.
11. How do you typically read?
Every opportunity I get, in transit, while waiting, etc. (depends on where I am, what book it is, if I’m easily able to bring it along)/Before bed/On the go by audiobook/When I can truly relax/When I remember to
I used to read in the bathtub, but that shit is a bit too dangerous bc I’m clumsy af, so now I usually read on the couch XD

None or 1/About 1 to 3/Maybe 4 to 10/At least more than 10/ At least 50/ Too much. I can’t keep track. /varies between 5 and 50/anywhere between 30 and 60
13. For school assigned book, what type of student are/were you?
I read all the books in detail/I read all but sometimes skimmed/I nearly read all, I may have skipped a few because they were too boring/I only read the interesting ones/There’s a reason why Sparknotes was made!
We had to read them all bc the internet wasn’t very helpful with information on them back in the day and after every book we had a presentation, so yeah. Booooring most of the time!

I'm trying to get more into classics so I wanted to ask you what are you favourites or books you absolutely reccomend?

dumas anything but the three musketeers is my fave, the count of monte cristo is also a+
1984 is my favorite book so if it counts as a classic to you ;) for moar old-school dystopia, lord of the flies is also ur friend

as for the french, stendhal is always a++ my favorite is the red and the black
and victor hugo too, les mis is obviously The Masterpiece but it’s long af so maybe you wanna start off with notre dame des paris if you want to sample the style
russians: admittedly I’m not as strong on them as I’d like to be but eugene onegin is an a+ poem and dostoevskij is always a great choice, my fave is brothers karamazov and obviously crime and punishment is a total classic but if you want to start of easier there’s the house of the dead, the gambler and notes from the underground, also gogol’s the nose and the coat are some of my fve short stories and checkov’s short stories are generally great (I need to read more tolstoy tbh so I can’t go give advice on that but in general start with the short ones and move up to the longest)
back to british: FRANKENSTEIN
also treasure island is a classic if you’re into adventure and shit, same as jules verne (if you like italians and find a translation you can try out salgari’s anything, it’s the same brand of stuff)

also if you’re into crime stories the sherlock holmes books are your friend
if you’re into horror get yourself a collected edgar allan poe works book and marvel, he mostly did short stories anyway so it’s all v. accessible u_u
americans ie LET ME GO ABOUT THE STUFF I LIKE: STEINBECK (my fave is the grapes of wrath but honest anything he did is a+, east of eden is waaay longer so I’d suggest going for grapes before, but if you wanna start off very short there’s of mice and men and cannery row/sweet thursday + the short stories in the long valley) and vonnegut (slaughterhouse V is the one you wanna read first, but cat’s cradle is also genius and my favorite is god bless you mr rosewater, but really vonnegut hasn’t written one book in his life that wasn’t at least a 7,5 on 10 lol) as general authors, then
moby dick if you’re into wanting to try that behemoth but is2g it’s worth it
the adventures of huckleberry finn is actually what’s mostly agreed started off american lit as a separated genre and I love the shit out of it

I’m not the best on spanish lit around but you might wanna read don quixote if you wanna go for a) the most important novel in spanish lit, b) one of the first novels period. ps: it’s absolutely a riot
italians: these are more complicated bc we didn’t have *novels* until the 19th century and I’m not a fan of a lot of them but if you have the chance do try out calvino (the invisible cities and a great work)
if you really wanna go heavy on *literally* classics and want to try out ancient greeks or latins... well obviously odyssey/iliad/aeneid count, but you might wanna check out aristophanes’ comedies which are a-total-riot - lysistrata is really great also for our modern sensibilities and you don’t need to know anything about ancient greece to read it, while for the clouds or the birds you might wanna get an edition with notes but anyway they’re a riot. also there’s my forever favorite epic poem ie lucretius’ on the nature of things which is basically philosophical epic poetry and I love it but I understand it might be boring to others, so I will also throw in lucian’s a true story which is pretty much the first scifi story in western lit and it’s also a riot. (then if you wanna move on to tragedy just go with either aeschylus’s oresteia trilogy which basically gives you a very good idea of how the entire thing was supposed to work. sophocles has seven of them which are all great and eurypides has a lot more but like just start with the above if you wanna try that out).
aaand I could probably go on but that was a lot so xD hopefully there’s something you might like in here :D

Cringiest/weirdest things I’ve seen on Tumblr in the last while
Comments on a post comparing nonbinary people to Legendary Pokemon, one which said that that means nonbinary people don’t exist because Pokemon aren’t real and one that asks if that means we can apply all the other aspects of Legendary Pokemon to nonbinary people (and from the way they said it, I don’t think they meant in the sense of them having amazing powers)
People legitimately (or at least legitimately jokingly) wanting to become lichs and/or trigger the undead apocalypse just to save us from the prospect of a musical about the 2016 election (whose characters would get stanned in similar ways to Hamilton because parallels I guess...) in 300 years
People saying it was erasure to compare a trans female scientific genius to Iron Man (the trans woman in question being Martine Rothblatt, the CEO of Sirius XM)
Comments on posts about two different dead female characters from two different fandoms (not saying who because spoilers) and their potential queerness that imply that them being a dead female character somehow retroactively makes them have been a lesbian
People saying it was anti-semitic to make fanart or whatever showing Jewish characters having horns (in costumes or something) so basically according to them either the stereotype doesn’t exist on Alternia or all “troll Jews” are walking stereotypes for having horns, as well as, if Blizzard bit the bullet and confirmed Mercy as Jewish, her Devil and Imp skins would automatically become anti-semitic because they show her having horns. Seriously, if you’re not associating them with the devil, there’s nothing inherently bad for having horns
Apparently it’d be homophobic to make a Themyscira-pre-Wonder-Woman show dark and gritty or literally anything besides a polyamorous fluffy queer slice of life comedy with barely enough plot to hang a plot on
That one post that said something akin to “I hope everything you have ever called your spirit animal forces you to go on a vision quest of self-denial and being forced to learn spell after spell without regard for how much you can handle”
People calling out two of my favorite fictional stories of revolution-against-dystopias (which shall remain nameless because I’ve seen too much discourse about them) for “not being revolution enough”; one because the society created after the revolution still had things like corporations and a class system and the other because, despite the tyrant getting toppled; the other officials complicit in what he did seemed to have “gotten off scot free”, the institutional discrimination in that society wasn’t solved by the revolution, and the society did not become anarcho-communist despite it supposedly being in line with the story’s themes

Implying all fictional immortals should be nonbinary and omnisexual because “if people can figure out they’re nonbinary or queer after being alive for a couple decades...” and ignoring the fact that it implies people get queerer the longer they live
Not just the existence itself of a post wondering whether “the forbidden teachings of Cthulhu” or whatever were “don’t be a bigot” (because of Lovecraft’s values) but the lack of a comment on it wondering if this means all high and urban fantasy with Lovecraftian-like beings as the bad guys is problematic because the Old Gods are actually “woke af”
The death of a gay player character on a “D&D Let’s Play” show means the DM is homophobic even though it was by random roll of the dice
Dream Daddy was supposedly named after a kink even though all the romanceable characters and your player character are actual gay dads
Soulmate AUs are comparable to the Nuremberg Laws because biological determinism
Carol Danvers is going to get paired with “some boring man” because she “lost her butch haircut” and wore somewhat-feminine clothes and evident makeup in one scene of Endgame
If you think you’re a bi/pan woman but the only guys you’re attracted to are fictional guys and/or celebrities you’re actually a lesbian because fictional guys are idealized because they’re written by women (and apparently if they’re animated all have androgynous designs) and celebrities are supposed to show you their best side (seriously, I know she’s fictional but who counts as bi then, Harley Quinn? (because the guy she dated was an abuser))
Complaining that even though Bond 25′s going to have a very diverse supporting cast and Rami Malek as the villain, Bond is white and male and Rami’s still playing the villain. What did they expect, Daniel Craig to not even be in it and it being canon confirmation of the “Bond is a codename” thing as all the diverse actors would all be playing antiheroic conflicted Bonds in a poly relationship so they could all be Bond and the villain at the same time
