As Biden visited Israel to fund and support a genocidal Settler colonial government, he also took moves to increase genocidal acts against Native people in the US by legalizing the destruction of graveyards and holy sites in order to put up a wall in the middle of some tribes historical lands. Border Patrol routinely engage in violence against Native people while searching for "illegal immigrants" of the same tribe.
The US ruling class backs Israel for the same reason it funded a coup against Evo Morales, because as a violent, genocidal Settler colony they back other Settlers and destroy examples of moves towards Indigenous rule in order to maintain their own position as a violent, genocidal Settler colony.
An end to US imperialism and end to Settler colonialism are necessary for the good of the world.

Border Walls in Europe
In the United States 🇺🇸, Former President Donald Trump made worldwide headlines with his push to build a wall along the United States-Mexico border in order to keep out illegal immigrants.
While many people have vocalized their opposition to the plan, the United States would not be the first nation to construct a wall along its border. Around the world, there are several nations that have border walls, fences, or barriers. These usually serve the purpose of controlling the border, keeping out illegal immigrants and preventing smuggling.
Other nations use barriers when there are disputed or unclear borders.

My first Substack post is out!
"Even though the wall kenneled, humiliated, impoverished, and starved the Palestinians, that was the extent of what it could accomplish. The wall deferred the problem of Palestinian resistance, but did not destroy it. This didn’t stop Israelis from seeing the wall as the shield of Israel’s sovereignty: a monument to peace, security, and the legitimacy of colonial domination. This perception seeped into all levels of Israeli society, including the country’s massive military and intelligence apparatus. According to New York Times writer Ronen Bergman, who was born and raised in Israel, 'people of the military got completely enchanted by the wall. And in time, [Israel] allocated fewer and fewer forces to the southern front.' The tragic result of this faith in the wall was that when its effectiveness was finally tested, '[the] contract between the state and the Jewish people was brutally violated.'"

Plant of the Day
Saturday 23 December 2023
At Gordon Castle, Scotland, these pillars of Fagus sylvatica Atropurpurea Group (copper beech, purple beech) add height and structure to the 100m long central borders. The designer Arne Maynard surrounded the topiary tree pillars with herbaceous plants in a soft colour palette with flowers and foliage of blue, purple and white with touches of yellow and apricot.
