Unlike many others, the Baggins Twins are anything but ordinary. They would be considered odd by the mere fact that they're twins, but more likely, because they have the first platonic soul bond in a very long time. So when the twins Bophie and Bilbo are whisked away on a mad adventure to slay a dragon with 13 dwarves and a wizard, their joined fate becomes tangled in knots that become harder and harder to undo as their journey grows closer to the end.

On instinct, Sophie stepped away from the mirror, reaching out and grabbing a lacy black mask Kate had lying around, tying it to her features so he wouldn’t be able to recognize her. She couldn’t bear his disappointment the next day when he discovered who she truly was.
Her back had been turned to him the whole time, and she kept it that way, because she had no idea what to say! What does one say to one’s future boss when one does not wish for them to know one’s true identity? It was madness.
In the midst of her freak out, she missed Benedict approaching her. When he was a centimeter away from touching her back, her eyes flashed up to the vanity mirror she stood near. While she was out of the frame, he took over it. He filled the mirror, arm outstretched, fingers splayed, ready to touch her if she allowed it.
Sophie didn’t breathe. She buzzed, exhaling in an attempt to calm her nerves. That did absolutely nothing; she could feel him mere millimeters from her body.
She shivered when his fingers brushed her skin, the pads gently pressing into her arms. Heat flooded the spot and warmed her cheeks, and she gasped underneath her breath.
“Tell me who you are,” He whispered, and she closed her eyes, clutching her hands out in front of her.

Headcanon/Crack/Wish for Benedict next season.
So all of next season, Benedict is looking for a muse, something to reignite his artistic passion. And he thinks he found it in the Lady in Silver, and spends the season searching for her. As he does so, he grows close to Sophie, but a part of him is always holding back a little, looking for a muse.
This is when his plotline intersects with Eloise, who has been getting up to political shenanigans. And Eloise is sneaking into the house, probably dressed in boys clothes, a total mess, and when Benedict finds her and questions her she has a little rant, maybe while trying to scrape the horse dung off her shoe. And Benedict has a sudden need to draw her, and cuts her off so he can start sketching her.
And it is like a lightbulb moment that love and beauty and muses do not need to be found in elusive and romanticized ideals of perfection, but in intimacy and fondness and flaws and mutual understanding. And that is when he commits himself to Sophie.
