hello! im writing a short character study for deacon, but im a little confused on the timeline, and i dont know who else to ask :3 around finding (what he thought) was sarahs refugee camp, do you know when he met rikki, leon, and alvarez? i think it was just him and boozer searching it, but i cant find the dialogue where he talks about it so im not sure :333
Hello!!! I am always open and excited for Days Gone questions!!
So as far as I know, Rikki meets Deacon and Boozer in Tumalo but leaves the two of them before the events of the game begin. This is because she wants to stay with Iron Mike at Lost Lake Camp despite Deacon’s actions to anger him (sending survivors to Tucker’s work camp). I believe we learn this during the “Thats When I Knew” mission.
As for Alvarez and Leon joining Deacon and Boozer, I think they joined after Deacon finds out Sarah is dead. This is because Leon doesn’t join the party until they smuggle drugs out of Tucker’s camp, and these events are what start off the game, two years after the helicopter scene and long after Deacon made a memorial for Sarah.
So while I don’t believe it is ever outright stated, Rikki only stayed with Deacon and Boozer for a little while before sticking with Lost Lake Camp, and left because Deacon was mourning Sarah and staring at her picture (most likely after finding out she “didn’t make it”). With Leon and Alvarez, they were independent drifters for a good period of time before riding with Deacon and Boozer.
