I wonder what was going on in Rainbow's head through his summoning to the time he first became Sabre's friend
"Hmm...there is this guy who doesn't look like a Steve. He sounds so enthusiastic, but the moment he sees a Steve, his first response is violence. He captured and tormented me. And now we're friends? I know I have no memories, but I feel so much Deja Vu for some reason. I feel like if he raised his voice up a few pitches, he'll sound like someone I'm supposed to know."

Is there a version of magnitomb where you use mercy (also when discussing aborted magnitomb you used the pre-battle abort dialogue option to explain if you aborted late into the route but what if you used energyshock or did the equivalent of glaring to abort would it be any different)
Oh boy I haven't gotten an ask about this AU in a hot minute but, yes! I did put some thought of my own in to that kind of route. Moreso into different ACTs involving Berdly than any kind of way the story would significantly change. I have seen multiple people adapt it to fic though, if you're interested in reading.

Do you think, back when Nightmare was evil but not yet controlled by Elemental, there were moments he encountered/spotted a Yellow and Red steve duo and couldn't bring himself to attack them?
I've never thought of this before. That's a cool thing to imagine!
Here's another thing to imagine: that Yellow and Red Steve duo defied him and told him he was wrong. This challenges Nightmare. Nightmare believed that he had to be evil. But these Steves who are like him tell him off, which showed that he didn't have to go down this evil path.
Thank you for the ask!

Your joke idea made me want an opposite powers au of the steve saga
(In response to this post)
The mental image of Sabre's friends (Rainbow, Galaxy, Green, Light) having destructive powers terrifies me. These guys can destroy life and the universe instantly, and Sabre is still acting like his normal self and treating it all like a silly adventure with friends.

Isn't it weird how none of Sabre's series' have Tvtropes pages yet? It feels like that should've happened by now.
Funny that you mention that, because I actually tried making a Steve Saga TVTropes page back in 2018. I was building a draft of it on Google Docs and collecting as many tropes as I could, but never actually finished it *tear*
But yeah, it's definitely weird no one has made pages for Sabre's shows yet.

Alright, probably unique idea; What if both dark steve and the demon steve returned in the illusion arc
Since Dark Steve has experience with running a pigmen army in the Nether, it might be interesting if Dark Steve uses Demon Steve or the Spiritless World to cause trouble. It might even tie in some lore from the Blue Steve Saga.
Wait, omg, Dark Steve is a shapeshifter too. He and Illusion Steve might confuse everyone by pretending to be other people. Imagine if Dark Steve pretends to be Illusion Steve, and visa versa.
Thank you for the ask!

Submitter: Inspired by you bringing up chess
Kings: Almost never capture unless threatened, the main goal is to defeat them.
Queens: able to go anywhere, strong, one of the most useful pieces.
Rooks: Can move a lot but predictably, strong but evadeable, recommended to hide behind pawns.
Bishops: Can move a lot but in directions that force them to think more, can be incredibly powerful in the right hands.
Knights: Hard to reach, can jump past pieces, is the only piece that can be used on the first turn except for pawns.
Pawns: Can start off with 2 steps forward but then must only take 1 at a time, can only go forward towards enemies, can be promoted to any piece after reaching enemy territory.
The one’s off the board represent either third parties (hypno) or those lost in the crossfire (elemental)

For a refresher on the characters and their allegiances, check out the Kingswap AU posts here and here.
Great work on the visualization! Memory and his homies are ready to destroy Time.
I thought Infinity Steve would stay an antagonist in this AU, so it’s interesting that he’s on the heroic side, while Negative and Positive are not. Am I looking too deep into this?
Thank you for sharing!

Re: the nightmare in the illusion arc, for both variants, if taken through the lens of him being evil again it would be interesting if the revived evil nightmare was the embodiment of nightmare's bad deeds, for the one where he's brought back good perhaps it could be interesting if the red steve was also brought back
(Follow up of this post, where the two au variants were discussed.)
For the “comes back evil” variant: That is a cool idea. Galaxy would probably say, “if I had a nickel for everytime my friend was chased by an embodiment of evil past deeds, I’d have two nickels. It’s still not enough to buy a sandwich though.” Illusion would also probably struggle to use the illusion to pacify this version of Nightmare. If there’s nothing good beneath the surface, then the illusion can't filter out all of Nigthmare's evil. (I'm using RRFF's explanation of Illusion's powers here. I don't know the full extent of Illusion's powers in canon.)
For the “comes back good” variant: Oooh, what if Illusion creates an illusion of that Red Steve to mess with Nightmare? Or what if the Red Steve comes back to help Alex and Sabre with the Spirit World situation?
Thank you for the ask!
