wat are some headcanons for black seraphimon and his tamer?
BlackSeraphimon with a Tamer
BlackSeraphimon is rather quiet and keeps to himself. When it comes to his Tamer, he does become slightly more talkative, but more only with them more than anything. Otherwise, BlackSeraphimon is quiet and calculating, and watching everything around him constantly.
BlackSeraphimon tends to like to test other's strengths, and at times likes to challenge his Tamer's friend's Digimon. It's always out of fun, and it never goes too far, but BlackSeraphimon only wishes to help the ones around him grow stronger even when he seems fairly quiet and dangerous.
BlackSeraphimon is still fairly strict about some things and doesn't have much of a sense of humor. There are times he tries to crack jokes with his Tamer, but they're always so dry and never land... as well as he thinks they would. Or he's unintentionally hilarious, because he messes up sayings constantly, and is so monotone about how he says it.
He is still quite a guardian to his Tamer and is quick to react to anything around them should it go for his Tamer. He is quite powerful, and he does not take kindly to anything that tries to strike at his Tamer in any way, and always quickly flies in to counteract them.
BlackSeraphimon has a tendency to seem like he's not paying attention with how quiet he is, and how it seems like he stares off into the distance quite a lot. But in reality, he's always in the moment, he is just making sure that the area is quite safe for them, and he's listening closely, just in-case...

Attribute: Vaccine
A Mutation Digimon with the appearance of a looking glass. Its lustrous body, which reflects back all malicious data, allows it to stay a Vaccine-type in spite of all the Virus-type Digimon it has absorbed. It hunts them down devoid of any emotion, purely driven by its instinct to purge and consume. Its reflection shows the worst aspects of things, magnifying and twisting them, so only the most virtuous paragons of righteousness will see their image unchanged on its surface. Though it is often used by holy Digimon as a security device, it will sometimes join particularly powerful Virus-type Digimon to slowly feed off their negative energy, influencing their minds and driving them further into darkness until it completely purges them out of existence. Its Special Moves are trapping the opponent inside its reflection, where their data is broken down and neutralized ("Quarantine Capture") and reflecting the enemy's attacks back at them ("Divine Symmetry").

Frontier watching
27 - The Double Spirit Miracle! Beowulfmon is Born
-DOUBLE SPIRIT!? Ohoho so seems like maybe we're getting Frontier's equivalent of Ultimates(Mega)/Jogress???
-I love when Izumi contacts Takuya via the Digivice, the first thing Tomoki and Junpei do when he asks if anybody's spoken to Koji is to take their own devices out and get straight on it. Aww I love these kids looking out for each other.
-I like the Fire vs. Ice and Light vs. Dark thing they had going here hehe.
-Cool shot of the Light symbol behind Koji when Duskmon holds him up and attacks him.
-bruh the florist in Koji's memory was so rude lol "Why have your parents only been married for three years?" um that's called my personal business now wrap my friggin bouquet haha
-Bokomon goes into labour lol did I just walk into a fanfic??
-Beowulfmon appears! So he's visually a fusion of the Human and Beast 'mons, but it's not a literal DNA/jogress.
-BOKOMON WHAT IS YOUR DEAL. The evolution song stops and they just have Neemon like sniffing after he asks Bokomon how he knows Beowulfmon's name. SUSPICIOUS. I literally half-joked in like episode 3 or something that Bokomon was secretly the ultimate evil this seris. Maybe I'm right rofl. (I'm sure it just means "it's in the book how do you not know that by now")
-We end on Koji asking himself… "Who was that kid who looked like me?" OH WELL THEN. That's even more intriguing then just "omg it's (insert brother's name)!" I would've suspected we'd have gotten some comments from the other Cherubimon mooks about Duskmon specifically being "the new guy" if this guy were Koji's relative/friend/whatever but it still wasn't impossible. Seems like it's not that simple.
-By sheer coincidence I skipped the intro this episode and I went back to see if it had changed, even just to include the double spirit digimon, it hasn't. Kinda cool they've actually left a bit of mystery with the evolutions this time. Although maybe they figured people would've thought Beowulfmon was just Wolfmon if he was only on screen for a brief flash haha
-NEW OUTRO… which I don't think I will watch since I feel like it has the potential to spoil too much at this point hahaha
28 - Takuya' Fusion Evolution - Ardhamon's Explosive Techniques!
-We open on Mercuremon's haughty chortle
-In retrospect I don't remember much about this episode just because I was pretty invested and not really thinking much about the tiny things
-Mercuremon's ability to appearing in any reflective surface is cool
-There was some good music this episode--I didn't mention it for the last ep but the Double Spirit theme (like when the light beams out of Seraphimon's egg, not when they're actually evolving) is really nice
-BlackSeraphimon! This feels like the first time a Digimon anime has done the actual "changed its form based on the data it absorbed" thing that Digimon is kinda supposed to do lol (I mean there was something like-ish in Tamers with Beelzebumon but that was more a "don't get power hungry, idiot" symbolic thing). I've never even heard of it before so it was a cool surprise.
-Honestly this episode had the vibe of a final confrontation, like ultimate or penultimate episode level stuff, I dig it
-OMG BABY IS BORN!! Make sense since Seraphimon's data is finally released. I'm curious what Patamon and Bokomon's relatioship is gonna be like haha
-I enjoyed these episodes inside Sephirotmon but I'm glad we're moving on now. Can't wait for what happens next, I really like this series.
29 - Escape! The Phantsmagoric Sephirotmon
-Sephirotmon floats away, then returns seemingly in better shape. Patamon speaks!! And doesn't just say "pata pata" like when he was first hatched, I was worried about that haha. All the kids love the baby, and Beowulfmon is seen chasing Duskmon who vanishes… That's a lot before the title drop.
-Sephirotmon has the energy of a boss in an RPG who wipes the floor with you and you're like "oh okay unwinnable boss fight" and then you just get the game over screen lol
-Nice to see Takuya learning from the Duskmon fight and directly taking into account his friends' feelings in the midst of the fight when he considers fleeing the best option
-The scene where Sephirotmon chases the kids into the crevasse then through the tunnel actually made him seem really gross and creepy haha ew
-The darkness scene was really well done here. Soooooo many games and anime harp on and on about darkness but like… never explain what it is or how it manifests. Here it's literally just as simple as darkness makes you dumb and submit to more basic instincts. It robs you of your intellect and rationality, making you lash out. Amplified, this extends to being actively cruel and violent to other people. Nicely done, Frontier. This puts you ahead of like 99% of all anime ever lol
-Fortunately Takuya is really stepping up as a good leader and brings the team together. I love the comeback against Sephirotmon too. You can copy their attacks, but can't take into account their growth. Like, yeah, it's kind of on the nose but that's literally just it haha
-I like how it wraps around that even with all his power, Sephirotmon was alone when they defeated him. He was never friendly with the other Cherubimon mooks (evil Legendary Warriors?? I dunno how to refer to this group lol) and maybe not being so callous to each other might've saved them in the long run… (sidenote I really wish some anime story sometime would take the "power of friendship" thing but apply it to everyone, including the villainous group(s); friendship doesn't mean virtue and goodness, it means bonds between people, even if those people are the opposite of virtuous and good, but that's a ramble for another day)
-Okay all the Cerubimon mooks are DOOOOWN and we end on Cherubimon ominously saying about breaking a seal--a seal on itself?? Or another Digimon/power?? And once again we see Beowulfmon a final time… KOJI AND NOT-KOJI WHO ARE YOOOUUU
-I didn't think I'd write this much about this episode, between it being combat heavy and me being very tired but here we are!

Review! Digimon Adventure: (2020) Episode 46: The Sword of Hope
In this episode, Devimon does his old pal Angemon a solid and supplies him with even more backstory angst, reasons to doubt himself, and the age old question: “Are you tired of being nice?”
There’s always been a strong argument that the two most compelling characters in this series are Patamon and Tailmon. As the featured angels in the ancient war, they carry the show’s mythology with them, wearing some visible scars as they try to navigate a new conflict where they’ve been put at such an initial disadvantage. In Frontier, the angelic palace intrigue was always more interesting than the kids’ battle against Lucemon. This show fell into a similar trap, but it helps to have Seraphimon and Ophanimon be active leaders and combatants instead of cute mascots. While Angemon’s drama here comes from a weird source in a weird vessel that could have been used better elsewhere, it’s nice to finally have something we can sink our teeth into again.
Speaking of Frontier: Sephirothmon! His role then gives a certain trepidation about his function now, especially the whole “battling the shadows of the past” concept that dragged out to mixed results in his first appearance. You could absolutely imagine the Chosen getting sucked into different spheres again, splitting the team up for the umpteenth time as they’re all subjected to mostly self-contained turmoil. But instead it’s four of the kids pulled into a single sephirah, sent by the Vademon to gather data. They need this data to revive the fallen… okay, that part’s pretty Frontier too.
The important thing is we’re seeing the Vademon and presented with tangible signs of their plan to revive Millenniumon. Other than Mephismon, there’s been no sign of any progress in this supposedly urgent crisis. Having this sort of recurring threat would at least help frame these episodes better rather the parade to nowhere we’ve been watching. Sephirothmon gathering data for the Vademon instead of his own selfishness makes him feel that much more relevant. Inside, overwhelming the good guys with massive numbers of previously beaten shadows of foes presents a unique threat and offers some fun callbacks, even if it gets old fast.
This leads to Devimon, showing up in sequence and, true to his original form, far more expressive than all the other shadow clones. It also derails all the fun with Sephirothmon, which could have provided a decent conflict on its own thanks to its ties to the actual villain. They’re pretty loose with the logistics of how a real-ish version of Devimon shows up among all the weakass clones. Honestly, it’s better believing it’s Angemon’s own inner doubts that give him voice. Just as Angemon’s presence triggered Devimon, the reverse holds true as well. Turns out there’s a reason for that!
Let’s be real: Devimon emerging from a dormant Angemon is a pretty useless thing to learn now. His moment has passed and this history lesson comes long after we could have appreciated it. But as pointless as it is for Devimon, it’s another level of depth for Angemon. Patamon’s already struggled with confidence in the face of the overwhelming responsibility in front of him.
Just because he has stronger (and seemingly interchangeable) forms doesn’t mean that he’ll be free of all doubt. Devimon is a reflection of that, all the negative feelings Angemon’s forced to repress in order to carry out his sacred duties. Also a healthy dose of “light requires darkness” and equal balance and all that junk that took original Takeru two full seasons to wrap his head around.
Even with the shambling corpse of Devimon as messenger, it all adds up to Angemon getting into his own head again and we are always here for that action! It’s strong enough to nearly consume him, steered to the symbolic act of murdering his human partner. Of course, Takeru’s having none of that. In most series, it’s the Digimon who has to help the child navigate whatever issues are holding them back. In this partnership, Takeru has consistently been the rock pulling Patamon/Angemon from whatever brink he finds himself in. In the form of an eight-year-old boy refusing to budge with a corruption of his partner bearing down on him, it’s downright badass. He trusts Angemon more than Angemon trusts himself, and that’s the sort of thing that inspires Ultimate evolutions.
Intimating Devimon’s continued presence only works if the show continues to poke at Patamon’s problems. We know how unreliable that is. But it’s the kind of character torment we should be getting more often, and there are enough hints dropped (looking at you, creepy BlackSeraphimon allusion from episode 32) that the argument might not be whether Patamon is the best character, but whether he should be considered the main character.
My Grade: B+
Loose Data:
Better Know a Sephira! Not really, just felt good to say again. I’m entitled to callbacks too.
Another callback was that just as it was here, the Sephirothmon arc in Frontier started with the kids traveling along a rocky ridge. It was… much darker though.

Greymon, Garurumon, and Kabuterimon are all prompted to evolve to Ultimate once they hit the corresponding enemies that got them there to begin with.
Stupidly hopeful as we may be about the prospect of more Patamon angst, Sephirothmon using everyone’s attacks against the quartet on the outside is definitely “weakly explored here, could be potentially interesting later, watch it never happen again” material.
There’s some nice NeoDevimon mask imagery going on with corrupted Angemon.

DIGIMON NEW EPISODE THOUGHTS!
Okay so wasn't expecting them to go armor evos especially without the egg or d terminals needed. It's like they put canon in a blender and hit puree. Though I do love how they're being more flexible with evo lines like in cyber sleuth where they weren't completely linear and had a whole tree. Like if you wanted a dianamon you'd could get one with gotsumon who had her as one of it's possible evos. Patamon did need a more reliable evo than angemon anyway with the more action focused story which brings me to my next topic.
Seriously, give these kids a break! They haven't gotten a signal breather and have been none stop fighting. They could really use some filler episodes with light heartedness where they're not having something trying to kill them 24/7. They went a bit over board on emphasizing the whole 'our war game' motif imo.
On another note though, can't wait to see gatomon and angewomon soon. We saw the dark digimon making seraphimon into blackseraphimon. Will they do the same with ophanimon and show us her fall down mode or lillithmon?
Also, I like how older digimon like fangmon and eaglemon are getting more spotlight which paves the way for more interesting episodes. I'd like to see more filler episodes with underrated mons in the spotlight like the olympus 12, Darcmon, valkyrimon etc. maybe a queenchessmon kingdom theme mimi focused ep referencing the of princess mimi ep, the gang meeting the five bancho digimon with maybe leomon evolving into bancholeomon through training with them, or maybe a petermon, hookmon, and tinkermon episode with takeru and hikari.
They could even bring back more fan favs like impmon and Beelzemon who rebels against the dark digimon since they tried killing weak human kids and rookie digimon which goes against his whole principles of not targeting the weak and he's never a bad guy, more of an anti-hero. They've got a lot of potential!
Btw, the Komondomon are all precious helpful bois and those cute doggos must be protected at all costs!

But in all seriousness, my top tier favorites are Arkadimon (Mega), Grandracmon, Neovamdemon, Beelzemon, Matadormon, Dorbickmon, DeathMeramon (lady version), Hippogriffomon, Magnadramon, Cherubimon Vice, and Metalphantomon…
In general I also love the species Ogremon, VenomMyotismon and Gargoylemon though I don’t have OCs I’ve used it for yet.
Some other of my OC Digis I’m favoring right now include Arukenimon, Imperialdramon PM, Raijinmon, Gundramon, Olegmon, Metalgarurumon, Magnakidmon, and BlackSeraphimon. *3*

I was thinking about SkullGreymon and started to wonder if every one of the original partner digimon has an evil version.
Agumon has SkullGreymon, and BlackWarGreymon...plus BlackAgumon, BlackGreymon, and the virus MetalGreymon.
Gabumon has BlackGabumon through BlackMetalGarurumon. The wiki says BlackWarGreymon and BlackMetalGarurumon can become Omnimon Zwart too.
Patamon has Devimon and Daemon as fallen angel counterparts of Angemon and Seraphimon, and Seraphimon has two dark variations of it: ShadowSeraphimon and BlackSeraphimon.
Gatomon has LadyDevimon and Lilithmon just like above, plus Ophanimon Falldown Mode and whatever the fuck we saw in the latest episode of Digimon Tri.....which the wiki calls Ordinemon.
But that’s when things get shaky. Tentomon can become Kuwagamon which kind of works? Biyomon can become Kokatorimon and Palmon can lead into Puppetmon, but those are kind of stretches. At least, they’re a lot less personal than literal alternate versions. And Gomamon has nothing on it at all.
