I miss everyone :( tumblr just ain’t the same these days

Hi, I'm the anon who asked about monetising my writing. Thank you for the lengthy answer. But there were a few things I believe I wasn't clear on, I want to post short exo original works on Tumblr, and would like to eventually make money off longer pieces. The POTO fanfiction I will post to ao3. But my questions are how do I build a following? What should my first post be? And should I keep the exo blog separate from my POTO blog or should I combine them.

Ohhhh!! Ok, yes, I missed a bit of that, lol! 

So, I’ve answered versions of this before here, and here and you can check the rest of my #writing woes tag for more! Your first post should be a story you’re excited and passionate about, because that excitement will translate into your writing. There are no unpopular monsters in these parts (everyone has their faves of course, but that varies widely!)

As far as a separate blog...I guess that depends on your followers? There’s a lot of overlap between the exo community and the poto fandom, but there’s always the risk of losing followers if a dedicated fandom blog begins positing stuff not fandom related. My bitchpudding blog was never specifically for poto or any other fandom, it was just my blog with no set aesthetic or theme, versus this blog with is exclusively for monsters/original writing.
