I spent, at a minimum, at least $500-$1,000 a month exclusively on my self improvement. Here is most of what I spend on, in no particular order:
Education (classes, books, courses, certifications, college tuition, seminars, etc.)
Private lessons for languages, musical instruments, sports, etc.
Personal hobbies and passion projects
Crest whitening strips (great when in a pinch), Invisalign, professional whitening, preventative dental care, prescription whitening products from my dentist
Investments such as index funds, REITs, ETFs, CDs, individual stocks, commodities, appreciative luxury items, precious metals & gems, etc.
Organic food, vitamins, supplements, high quality healthcare, therapy, massages, prescriptions (Rx skincare, etc.)
New glasses & contacts (getting some bayonetta glasses from Burberry soon, very excited)
Sports, gym membership + sauna, hot yoga, Pilates, kickboxing, tennis, skiing, dance, etc.
Personal care such as bath/shower products, body care, haircare, skincare, makeup, brightening eye drops, perfume, etc.
Travel, events, concerts, festivals, etc.
Shopping (clothes, accessories, home goods, etc.)
Eating out at restaurants and going to coffee shops
Beauty treatments such as manicures, pedicures, waxes, brow tint & threading, salon blowouts, hair cuts & colors, facials, lash lift & tints, vitamin IVs, etc.
Regular visits to my dermatologist, dentist, psychiatrist, eye doctor, primary care physician, gynecologist, and any other specialists
Semi-regular appointments with a personal trainer, holistic nutritionist, and dietitian
I don't do all of these every single month, but most of these are recurring throughout the year and budgeted accordingly. Eventually I might add in more intense cosmetic work like medspa services, Botox, etc. If you can find a workplace with a great benefits package such as high quality healthcare, an HSA/FSA, health & wellness reimbursements for the gym, disability & life insurance, etc. I would highly recommend it and max out all the benefits you can.

✨My Glow Up tips✨
Drink a lot of water it benefits your body in every way bonus points if you add lemon. If you crave soda Olipop is a good alternative.
Eat little meals made with whole foods throughout the day it really does make a difference.
Go on hot girl walks get fresh air and sunshine every day.
Drink green juices and smoothies it’s the easiest way to get in all your fruits and veggies plus you can add supplements.
Skincare is self care it’s literally the canvas for your makeup so invest in your products. Keep it simple and be consistent with your routine.
Learn to read food labels ideally you want to know how to pronounce every ingredient.
Drink less alcohol bloating and hangovers aren’t hot.
Educate yourself on vitamins and supplements to target what you want to improve. For immune system you want vitamin c and zinc and for beauty you want a collagen supplement.
Lip filler: research your provider make sure you vibe with them and feel comfortable. Start slow and gradually build to your desired shape and size. (not everyone needs filler/botox only if you want it)
Contacts over glasses is my personal preference.
Choose a signature scent for every season.
Keratin hair treatments they make styling so easy and your hair looks shiny and perfect for weeks.
Natural nail colors are the most flattering. OPI and Essie make the best nudes.
Invest in classic basics for your closet black and white t-shirts denim and shoes. Think about cost per wear quality vs quantity ect. Zara is my favorite store for inexpensive trendy pieces.
Wear signature jewelry mine are gold hoops diamond studs and dainty necklaces. Mejuri is my favorite jeweler.
Cleaning and organizing your home is therapy. Light a Fall candle and deep clean your space once a week and you will feel refreshed.
Exfoliate your face and body a few times a week
Ice roll and gua sha your face it instantly de puffs and lifts.
Plant medicine personally I love cannabis and it’s been a positive life changing medicine for me.
Therapy: I believe everyone can benefit from it.
Never stop learning read often about whatever topics you’re interested in.
For improved hair skin and nails put collagen powder in your coffee or smoothies every day.
Put fresh eucalyptus and lavender in your shower or a few drops of essential oils for the best most relaxing bath.
Brush and floss often and occasionally use Crest white strips for whitening your teeth.
Journaling is so important on paper or even in your notes app on your phone.
Learn manifesting techniques your mindset is everything.
Get a professional bra fitting and match your lingerie it will make you feel confident and hot.

The Charlie Slimecicle Snacks, Diet, Skincare, Daily Supplements, And Workout RoutineTM
SNACKS
-IF BIG HUNGRY
- Get 1 and 1/2 pound of ground chicken -if still hungry, get another one- can put in low fat tortilla, add cheese, spinach, ect.
-IF SMALL HUNGRY
-Must be Greek yogurt, MAX three times a day, because one time you had too many and your tummy hurt and you kept doing it and your mom said you had to stop -can add fruit and chia seeds-if small hungry but you have already consumed 3 yogurts, then handful of nut -if still hungry, but not enough for ground chicken, enter post-yogurt, pre chicken gathering, aka squirrel mode- squirrel mode until you are hungry enough for big chicken
-EVERYTIME YOU NEED GAS FOR YOUR CAR
-Go into gas station, find refrigerator, find healthy section-Grab packet of two wet hard-boiled eggs, preferably with salt, if no salt, you can get packet of salt from the little table -If sad at gas station, get breakfast sandwich, look at eggs, 50% chance to get eggs, you will know if you want them or not, but even if not, look at them-Every second wednesday, when driving back from therapy, get muffin - not every wednesday get muffin, but always get eggs- look around to see if in sweet or salty mood, then go get the eggs-protein chips
-POST WORKOUT
-Once a week, after workout, treat time-usually a bagel- Asiago bagel, egg, bellpepper, ham, Chipotle mayo, and chedder cheese-can also be breakfast sandwich or muffin-rarely, can be a restaurant you haven't tried, go and get treat
-LATE NIGHTS, AKA YOURE HUNGRY BIT YOURE SUPPOSED TO HO TO BED
-after 9-10, past dinner, back in breakfast sphere- Eggs, turkey bacon, breakfast bites, fruits, ect-make eggs-either scrambled with spinach or cheese, can be with or without a wrap with meat - can also be an omlette- omlette is made with thyme and garlic pepper, NO SALT-can pair with turkey bacon, or finish with yogurt-can justify a 4th yogurt this late-tummy will hurt
-SKINCARE
-every morning and night-apply gentle foaming cleanser -must be specific to you, must work for your skin- once or twice a week, use exfoliating cleanser-for night specifically -apply retinol serum one every 2-3 days-apply 25 hrs peptide moisturizer, not too much, can cause breakout-use a Vaseline like substance on cracked or dry spots, including lips-for morning specifically -use vitamin c serum, paying extra attention to the space under your eyes and any discolored patches-after, use green tea face mask to release toxins, refreshing but unreliable and unsustainable
-DAILY SUPPLEMENTS-step one, two multi viramine gummies-Allegra, for anti inflammatory benefits and allegies-orange flavored vitamin c gummies-2 for 500 milligrams, 4, if on trip, for 1000 milligrams-difficult to overdose on vitamin c-take 1 fish oil pill to cognitive function and slipperyness-last one, a peach vitamin d gummy (best flavor)-if experiencing difficulties with nails and/or hair, or are without assessment to biotin shampoo, use biotin gummies for nails and hair-people will say that multivitamins and vitamins in general, are a scam unless you are vitamin deficit-scientifically, they are right, however, they taste gummy good
-WORKOUT ROUTINE-it is important to keep consistentcy in your workout routine plan-pick a 12 week routine - beginner if you're a beginner, intermediate if you're intermediate, and advanced if you have done other routines in the past-stick with it with for the duration before you make any hasty judgments on its impact-comes in 3 sets, A, B, and C, swithing every four weeks to make sure your body doesn't get used to any one specific movement or routine-Workout A of weeks 1-4-3x hip thrust-barbell, free if available, Smith machine if no other option-3 seated row-cable-three barbell full squat-3 bench press-barbell-reps dependant, 8 if high weight, 12 if lower weight -if you can do 12, move up weight and do 8-3 good morning-barbell-plank-plank-plank-dumbell side bend-band standing abduction-end workout-Workouts B 1-4, C 1-4, A 5-8, B 5-8, C 5-8, A 9-12, B 9-12, and C 9-12- you will become a glutial God-Open app store-install my fitness pal-find macros-need protein if building muscles, 1.5 to 2x body weight in protein grams every day-EAT 2X BODY WEIGHT PROTEIN. im a different anon but im just curious what advice you would give to someone whos been pillbugging it for um. over a year now
mmm i cant really answer how to stop having depression which im guessing is what u mean + i dont know how ur head works but ive been living mostly NEET-ly for more than 2 yrs now and everyday im getting a better curve at dealing with it so i can tell u what works for me.
half the time when im pillbugging hard im paralyzed by a nontangible fear and the only thing that could stop it is adressing wherever the fear is coming from but the confrontation of the topic, trying to figure out where its even coming from, is terrifying too so i dont do it and stay swimming in tar. theres a sentence people keep saying when they explain why they watch 2 hour video essays "it makes my head go quiet". thats the enemy, the thought, not the person saying it. long term i mean. when its short term anguish that can be bridged by pillbugging its fine i think but if ur "making ur head quiet" for more than a month i urge u to make it go really loud again but thats hard. the only times i can try and confront those thoughts is when i feel otherwise nice, if i got externally forced to have a fun day, hike with my papa, date day with my girlfriend, sometimes just got myself to make a nice meal and it helped, when u feel better its a little less scary and u can maybe try and think out of it a little better. also i think on those days youre generally more positively charged so u got more hope outlook. COOL. i think this is why some people do meditation. im not good at it so i dont really know but i think its a brave pasttime of tackling unpleasant ideas. i used to try and dope my way out of it with lsd cuz everytime i used it it kind of forced me to confront whatever trouble i had but ive forbad myself that cuz i didnt want to rely on it as crutch + it was just unpleasant to get hit over the head everytime. now i only do it when i feel good already (havent done it in half a year lol). sorry, drug tangent. also weed is synonymous with pillbugging 4 me.
otherwise, rituals.... mmmmm..... when therapists and whoevers say stuff like take daily walks daily exercise take daily shower i think all of those are like half about the direct benefits they give and half just about doing anything regularly. cuz it helps. during pillbug hours the point for me is kind of to have time pass as fast as possible so the timeframe to hurt is reduced which is counterproductive cuz if it flows u by rlly hard u cant really grasp onto anything to get off the ride easily. and its never going to come really easy theres no probable single action or event that is going to singlehandedly pull u out of the mire, no rapture, no healing vitamin, its always going to be slow and tedious and boring and stupid but a routine is a nice framework to start that. brushing ur teeth is nice. and when u do something daily the days start becoming more tangible again and u will be able to tell how many days ago tuesday was. maybe u can think abotu what factors motivate u and twist them to do your biddinggg. shame and dissapointment works really well for me if i tell someone i will have this done by then and i dont it usually overpowers the malaise or whatever other reason has been making me not do it prior. but this requires social bonds and i cant guarantee u have those. in summer i started doing therapy cuz in germany i need it for transgenderism and shes also a good beacon for that, if she says do something until next time we meet i dont want to dissapoint her. other than that, um idk, everyting else is just kind of part of that. take walks even if u dont want to think about things even if its scary. be brave like childrens book illustration of knight slaying dragon. and then maybe u get a princess kiss

So just over a year ago I started working towards curing my pretty severe depression which I’d been suffering from since I was 11. I realised that I’d found therapy deeply harmful, and unlearnt the idea that I needed a “professional” to help me. I stopped drinking, started leaving the house more, socialising more, eating healthy and exercising daily, took vitamins and omega-3 daily, and stopped spending hours a day scrolling through pro-therapy depression memes; the standard “things which will help with depression”. I also took DXM on a monthly basis as some kinda shitty DIY ketamine therapy (I wanted to take lsd or pscilosybn but failed to locate any). And gave myself permission to use any “unhealthy coping mechanisms” (with the exception of alcohol) that I found effective when necessary in the first six months
I’d say it was very successful. I’m no longer clinically depressed at all, no ahedonia, no suicidal thoughts, etc.
What I realised is that, even without the fog of “depression”, I’m still pretty unhappy and discontent, because my life’s kinda shit. If one defines “health” as the absence of disease, then I am completely and utterly mentally healthy, and yet I am unhappy. There’s nothing pathological about it, nothing that would benefit from therapy or medication; any non-depressed person would be unhappy in my scenario and that’s perfectly healthy and normal. People feel emotions, and sometimes they’re negative, c’est la vie
I think the problem with therapy is that it expects to magically make you happy despite your life circumstances, and refuses to accept that often mentally healthy people are unhappy. It relies on gaslighting you that your life is good actually, just think positive and get back to work. In most cases, therapy can’t help you with the route cause of your problems; it can merely help you “cope” by pretending everything’s okay. I feel Leftists should be deeply wary of this, as this very commonly presents as therapists (who are overwhelmingly upper-middle class) insisting that the working class be content with their oppression.
