Identity: Learning who you are outside of the family structure

Responsibility: Taking care of other people instead of being taken care of; making your own choices and taking the consequences upon yourself

Values: Deciding which values you will live your life by--holding onto the values of childhood or taking up new values--and using these to inform your adult decisions

Wisdom: Overcoming a childish misconception of reality and coming to a more realistic understanding of how the world works, so you can use this new knowledge to inform your decisions

Me, when Sebastian joins my party for the first time: Okay, this time I'm not going to forget about you, Sebastian. I'm going to make an effort to use you a lot this playthrough so I can better understand you.

Also me, immediately forgetting about Sebastian while finishing Act 2 and making it halfway through Act 3 before I finally notice his Faith quest: ......................Oh. Right. My bad.

The only person who has actually seen Kaeya's right eye after the immediate treatment post-Confrontation is Adelinde. He adamantly refuses to let anyone else see under it, especially those like Jean or Diluc who knew him best. The thought absolutely makes his gut churn. He would do anything to make sure no one catches sight of his eye if he can help it. Anything.

#hc; kaeya #//Adelinde is the only one; because he's the only one he can truly never say no too #//If she wants to check up on how his eye is; he'll only ask they move to a room where they can be alone to do so #//Jean's tried to convince him to let her see it after she got her Vision and realized its healing properties #//He adamantly refused #//Let the healers see it only ONCE; & their reactions made him genuinely consider if he should let them get away with the knowledge of it #//Spun up some tale why his eyes were mismatched & the burns as awful as they were to stave them off #//But from that point on; would NOT let them see it. If anyone was treating his eye; it would be HIM and HIM alone #//Is probably why it didn't heal up as well as it could have under their care. Can still sort of see; but nowhere near as clear as the othe #//Most of the folks who treated him and saw his eye left with Varka. He has lingering paranoia of what they could say abt him to Varka #//He's even snapped at Klee for trying to see; having been playfully trying to steer her away from taking the patch off #//Then just Panicked when he felt the string loosen. he felt so awful afterward; esp with how she'd burst into tears #//Anyone trying to or being perceived as trying to take off the patch WILL get a nasty strike of frostbite #//Which is why it takes a MASSIVE amount of trust to touch even that side of his face #//He esp doesn't want it seen immediately after using Abyssal energy; its influence is VERY noticeable there in particular #//Diluc is the one he'd loathe to see it the most; but not over a grudge; he's worried that in the (High Unlikely) case of him still caring #//That Diluc might blame himself for how the injury resulted. And/or try to 'help' with/talk abt it. Housemate is letting one of her rabbits walk around at night again :/

#girl he's cute but that means i gotta leave the lights on #i can guess she's not asleep because there's light in her room and her smart tv was still pinging my phone with the casting notif #but like. you can let your own pet rabbit wander around the house with your door closed!#he's your bunny! you didn't say anything about it!#not even talking about the risk for the lil guy because this is in spirit a student house #like i'm the only full time student but we're all at that student-ish age and living consequently #by which i mean there's lots of crap on the ground that doesn't get cleaned often #the bunny is not safe walking around. he isn't. also i keep almost tripping on him #and it stresses me the fuck out personally to have to keep the lights turned on all night across the house #just because jasper's out and rabbits don't have night vision and i don't want him to be alone in the dark #but also there are for real screws on the floor of the bathroom just hanging out #like. this is not a house that is safe for rabbits to roam free around. it just isn't #and she's filled the only shelf in the bathroom with more hygiene products than anyone else #and and and and. she's a shit housemate i won't miss her when i leave to go back home #man i can't wait for the day i am not sharing living space with her. i like my other housemates!#mostly because they pick up after themselves #and they're aware that when they make a mess they have to take care of it afterwards #she just kinda does stuff and then doesn't think about it #if she lived on her own i would not give a shit but it's impacting my day-to-day life as well!#ARGH #anyway #wow i have a ramble tag now #england adventures

i really feel like ep16 made me sit and think about sein a bit... i love the trope of a reluctant addition as an act of convenience with their own goal, but who eventually grows used to the party's company. and i think the fact that he does care a lot about the people in his life is very apparent (despite my knowing that he'll just end up as the haha depressed comedic relief guy in fancontent), he was just forced to make his very difficult, life-changing decision at a young age between his duty and his dream, his family and his friend... like despite himself ruining his image by doing everything a priest shouldn't i think it's pretty obvious that it's a way for him to distance himself from his duty bc of the guilt and regret he feels about that decision.

honestly i want to learn more about his character; he fits in very well with the themes of the series what with his clinging to the memories of the past but not being able to change them. (and honestly i also think i might just see a lot of relatable traits in his avoidance and denial... thinking it's too late to really do anything so never doing it... his stubbornness towards change despite it being something he wanted / for the better... sousou no frieren does very well in making very likeable, realistic characters and i am all for it.)

i'm really looking forward to see what he chooses in ep17. as he is i don't imagine that sein will stay with the party, and while i think his time with the party was somewhat short... i'll look forward to see how he chooses to do so and with what expression he makes his decision with.

It happened in the blink of an eye.

The Alpha Alakazam glanced at Khan, who had been oddly subdued since begrudgingly giving up where their next destination was, and then Ingo heard “you might be surprised by what you need,” and suddenly he was in the middle of a blood bath.

And Ingo was no stranger to battles- he and Emmet made a living off them, after all, and he'd participated in a handful of raids against scientists who thought they knew best for the world. He had seen the aftermath of people who had been attacked by wild pokemon, and what remained of those who decided their best course of action in life was to jump into a set of train tracks. It was never any less horrifying, and Ingo occasionally had nightmares about what he'd seen, but where he was now…

It simply was a nightmare.

Fires burned in varying degrees all around him. Some consumed trees, and some consumed bodies. He tried to find something to put them out with there was nothing nearby. Not even snow. At the sound of laughter he turned his head to see a group of humans in pale tunics walking away, a few of them carrying bloodied sticks. Anger flushed through his veins and he went to chase after them but was pulled backwards instead. He tried again, and again, but their strange words vanished into the forest and faded into darkness. Ingo was left surrounded by corpses of pokemon, confused and horrified.

There was nothing he could do, and he didn't know why he was here.

The sun faded in the sky and the fires began to die, slowly turning to embers. The bodies they'd consumed were nothing but charred husks, and the primitive buildings he'd first thought to simply be fallen trees collapsed on themselves with no support left. It has taken Ingo longer than he cared to admit that this hadn't just been a group of pokemon- it had been their home, where they'd had their own rooms. There were enough bodies here to be an entire family, the kind biologists loved to see where he came from. They were so few and far between, requiring a curious amount of intelligence, teamwork, and tolerance. He knew people, personally, who would have loved to observe this family.

And here he was, observing their bodies instead.

A terrified yelp grabbed his attention; another den had just collapsed. Apparently this inhabitant had been alive. Ingo dashed over and tried to remove branches- his hands went right through, but he didn't stop trying. After releasing his own anguished scream - why was he here when he was so useless?! - the branches moved. An ashen, burnt paw emerged first. The sticks wiggled again, collapsing around the body further, until the remaining pokemon finally managed to pull itself free. And it was only then, staring at the young Zorua, that Ingo finally realized what he must have walked into.

He turned to look, to take in what he had taken for granted before.

The bodies weren't just pokemon. They were Zoroarks, Zoruas. Pokemon that had, from his understanding, been long loathed in Hisui. Seen as ill omens, as dangers to their societies. This clan must have settled somewhere, thinking it a safe area to raise their family, only for it to be discovered by humans. Humans who were fearful of what they saw as dangerous. Attack before you are attacked. Ingo could, to an extent, understand why- pokemon in Hisui were so much more aggressive, defensive, than those he had grown up with and known. Some people had pokemon partners but they were not like what he was used to. And with this clan settling in, with new generations being reared, he could only imagine the thought process the humans who had found it must have had.

Get them, before they get us.

He turned back to the Zorua, who had emerged from the collapsed den and now stood silently.

Staring.

Ingo wanted to know what his expression was, but just as he began to lean over to look the pokemon began moving. He approached the closest corpse first- this one hadn't been burned, at least, but there was a puddle of blood haloing it. The Zorua didn't seem to notice his paws getting wet as he drew closer, lifting a paw to nudge the body. The corpse. As Ingo expected, there was no response. The Zorua tried again, finally turning away when the corpse remained still.

Ingo followed as it staggered around the ashes of the clearing, prodding at every body it found regardless of their state. Some were so very obviously dead… but the Zorua still tried.

Trauma, Ingo knew, did funny things to a mind. To one as young as this…

It was no wonder why Khan was the way he was.

The young pokemon finally stopped, his breaths coming faster and faster. Ingo knelt down when his back legs collapsed, arms reaching out as if he could help. As before, he simply phased through. The Zorua turned his head, finally revealing the scar that Ingo would come to know well, now a fresh wound that still bled. His paws were cut up and burnt, there were scratches and lesions all along his back. He was a mess. Ingo could hear frantic, near-silent whines coming from the Zorua. It was hard to say if the volume was from fear that he would be heard, or if the smoke had gotten to his lungs.

Tears began slipping from the Zorua 's eyes. His panting became one long, hiccuping whine. His head remained turned, staring behind him, and Ingo was struck by what he'd yelled at Khan in anger so long ago, and yet so recently.

“You have no idea what it's like to have a family you can't return to!”

Khan, of all of their companions, absolutely did. This… this was why his reaction had been so strong, why Nana and Mnesomyne both had stepped in to stop Khan from assaulting - perhaps even killing - Ingo.

This is why she sent me here.

Ingo looked down at the Zorua again. Khan seemed to be frozen in place, but the wind around them was moving leaves and leftover smoke. It was only Khan who was frozen, unable to look away from his slaughtered family.

“I'm sorry,” Ingo said quietly, placing his hands around Khan's body as if he could actually hold him, “I'm so sorry.”

He was injured and she was sympathetic)#He and Khan butt heads a lot at first bc Ingo desperately wants to get back to Emmet.#Ingo (not knowing Khans history) does a lot of shoving his foot in his mouth re: Khans (lack of) family #Until Khan realizes they need guidance on where to go and... Reluctantly takes Ingo and Co to an Alakazam who can help #(you get not what you want but what you need)#She sends ingo into Khan's memory (horse being thrown into wammawinks past) where he sees the truth #That Khan isn't alone with his small pack because he's too good for other Zoroark (so he says)#But because his entire pack was ruthlessly slaughtered by humans while he was young #The reason why he's so protective. Why he doesn't sleep much. Why he's so volatile towards humans.#And Ingo has said so much without knowing better. He's going to do better now that he knows tho.#Re: wammawink and horse bonding. So did Ingo and Khan.#Ingo sees Khans past and understands his desire to protect. Promises to help him as best he can.#Khan in turn lets himself rely more on Ingo and gradually begins to soften.#When the noble Zoroark tries to kill Ingo (who's sad bc he's losing his memory and noble Zoroark just wants to genuinely help)#It's Khan who approaches him with softness and kindness and forgiveness #'we are all just fragile things'#And he promises that no matter what he'll get ingo back to where he belongs and who he belongs with #(Emmet is horrified and concerned and just relieved Ingo is back but. Why did he bring back three pokemon and two humans as well.#Why did they have to come with.)

I do think ouat understands that adulthood fundamentally is responsibility for those younger or weaker or less powerful than you, it understands that staying and saving people is actually the grown up thing to do, which is another reason why the Neverland arc is so good because it was a perfect idea to pitt Emma against the boy who never grew up and see how she had to.

Some of those doctors make hating oat milk their entire personality. I hate them. Cannot pretend to find them funny or like i give a shit. Fucking pretentious assholes

#also my colleague (the girl i had my shift with) is the exact opposite of me in all aspects. asked me if I'd ever worked in customer service #because i couldn't care less about being fake friendly to assholes and don't care if they like the service or not #like bitch those people don't have any other choice but drink our fucking coffee it's not like I'm competing with anyone #or like they pay us in any way. i get paid for doing the dumb work i have to do not for stroking some dumb ass doctors' egos #they come out of their rooms once an hour to get coffee and we have the cups on the table and i wouldn't even Think of #HANDING them the cups and smiling sweetly at them and asking 'coffee? tea?? :))'#I'll just assume these grown adults will get their stupid coffee or tea when they want some. it's not like they don't know where it is #(and i AM friendly and smile when someone is coming in our direction but why the fuck do you need to get so disgustingly friendly with them #if someone held up a cup asking if i.want some coffee I'd leave immediately even if i came just for coffee. it's creepy)#anyway. she's nice. Continuing my Felix becomes Argos early AU (which I'm currently referring to myself as the Early Bird AU not sure if I'm keeping the name officially)

Seeing as one of his main (and likely only) goals for attending DuPont is to look after Adrien, he very much steps in to remind Marinette (and potentially later on the rest of the Akuma Class), after he (Adrien) suggests they take the high road when it comes to Lila lying, that Adrien isn't her boyfriend. He is not her keeper. She doesn't have to agree with him. But fuck her if she drags his cousin under the bus because she can't get over a silly little crush and has that affect whether or not she can actually disagree with him. If she wanted to go with it, fine, but she should have laid her own terms. Like if Lila does something drastic, she's going to tell someone, an adult she can trust to do the right thing. Or if Lila doesn't stop soon, even with the more minor lies, she's going to say something. And for love of everything, actually get evidence before you say shit because you're just sounding like a bitch whenever you say Lila's lying with no proof.

Marinette: BUT THEY AREN'T PROVING SHE'S TELLING THE TRUTH EITHER!

i can't pretend i'm immune to coming away from a story with One Dude who's very particularly special to me but at the very least there's like 85% odds that he ends up transfemme in my brain

Not that anyone who’s been complaining about FCG supposedly not caring about Ashton or whatever actually cares about FCG’s characterization, but for the record: FCG doesn’t typically talk about things that upset them without outside prompting. They didn’t talk about missing or mourning Dancer without someone else bringing her or something related to her up ever and even when they did talk about her, they usually brushed their own feelings to the side after a second. He’s gotten better about expressing himself a little bit, but usually in a “I am feeling bad in a way that might make me literally attack you all, so be aware of that!” sort of way.

It doesn’t matter how much or how little he misses Ashton, FCG was never going to be spending a lot of time vocally expressing that.

#especially given Imogen and Laudna's relationship #chet fearne and fcg all spent an amount of time deferring to Imogen's emotions about Laudna #because they have seen first hand how she kind of falls apart without her #fcg wasn't gonna talk to or around Imogen about his own feelings of missing anyone except in a commiserating sort of way #but yeah #fcg does like and care about Ashton #obviously if you pay any attention to their interactions #BUT they are not close #Ashton doesn't confide in FCG and tends to handle them with kid gloves almost #it's telling that they went to Laudna to complain about what they perceive as FCG behaving badly #but have never made any attempt to talk to FCG themself about it #he just kinda seems to try and gently nudge FCG towards behaviors he approves of without taking the time to explain his feelings #or ask FCG to explain why they behave the way they do #it's interesting!#genuinely #i just think people don't care to actually explore their relationship in favor of projecting either a more intimate friendship #or demonizing FCG for existing for their own sake and not just to feed the audience blorbo crumbs #just kinda venting
