been talking a lot on here about jill valentine and her potential as a character but another character i think is often underutilised and disappointingly written is actually wesker. I would love it if they explored the real relationship dynamics between him and STARS, especially Jill and Chris. like it would be so much more interesting if he actually really liked them and maybe even misses his STARS days in his own way, but regrettably has to betray them and move forward with his plans because he genuinely 100% believes he is in the right. it would be gutwrenching if he, Jill and Chris all felt the weight of responsibility over friendship and commradarie, if they had to choose between personal feelings of "but I don't want to hurt you" and taking down who they see as the bad guy.
I mean, in Lost in Nightmares, they find the stuff about Project W. It would be cool if they reacted to this, if they tried to make those connections. It would be so interesting to see Jill and Wesker's dynamic change once she throws them out of the estate - having to work together, begrudgingly trying again to trust each other despite the constant betrayal. If Wesker truly believed he was in the right, it would be easy to try and convince Jill that his plan is the right one after all she's seen (e.g. seeing the effects of chaotic infection, seeing how quick humanity turns on itself, and knowing Wesker may have a way to finally control that chaos and maybe even take the pressure of heroism away from her). It would be a really fascinating portrayal of villainy coming from (twisted) good intention, and it would be kind of cool to see Jill becoming more morally grey.
It would also be interesting to explore Wesker's self-realisation as he slowly loses himself to megalomania in the exact same way Spencer did. Does he feel self-hatred because of this? Would a part of him feel relief at his death once he was mutated beyond recognition? Can he feel anything at all, is there humanity in him??? when he looks at chris, does he feel resentment for the person he could have become, or hatred that he could never have been what Chris is?
cartoonishly evil villains are fun, but I wonder if they'll explore any of this as they try and make the remakes a bit more serious (emphasis on a bit)

Hi! I've read Dominoes and Espirit D'Corps (probably butchered that, but it's French, so) like. At least a dozen times each. I love both so much. I always cry at the part where Kyber and Hevy meet--its just. It's so good!!!
Can I ask how you came up with the plot? If you want, feel free to rant about your creative process, I'd really like to know how your brain works
Hi! I'm so so glad you've been enjoying them! Thank you so much!
Oh my, about how I came up with the plot, haha... hm. Well, for Dominoes, it was back when I was in high school and clone wars was in full swing, so I was reading a TON of fanfiction. I had noticed that there were tons and tons of fanfiction where Jedi are thrown back in time or given a chance to try and fix the timeline, and many of them were very good! But there were very few that dealt with clones in that situation back then. I noticed this because of my clone obsession, haha, I really wanted one, but I couldn't find anything to satisfy me. As I thought about it more, I realized it could be really interesting to see how non Force-sensitive characters would deal with such a situation, especially ones that don't have nearly as much authority as a Jedi. Figuring out that dynamic was fascinating for me, and so rough drafts of the first chapter began! In the beginning I didn't even have a reason for how or why they time traveled, either. I just wanted it to happen, so I wrote it! It's been fun putting things together to make the plot more coherent now. Of course, this was before we got news that season 7 would be released, so I had no idea we would get more Echo content, thus his involvement with the bad batch and survival past the techno union nonsense isn't included, but it's still been fun!
For Esprit de Corps... I remember it was new year's eve several years ago and I was having some serious writer's block with Dominoes, so I decided to pull up a blank document. I had just watched the Force Awakened again and was mourning the lack of Finn character development, and started to brainstorm how his interactions with the clones would have gone. That led me to remember the term 'esprit de corps', which basically refers to a sense of kinship or loyalty felt between members of a group... and then 'esprit' looks a lot like 'espiritu', which is spirit in Spanish... so then I thought it would be really fun if ghost clones were helping Finn throughout his adventure. It really evolved from there!
Thanks for the ask haha! It was fun to remember how these fics began! Keep an eye out for updates in the near future ;)

Hi! from the Behind the Scenes ask, 11 or 21 for Stain? Thank you!!
11. Was there a scene that you hadn't originally planned to include? Why did you decide to fit it in?
I have no plan for A Stain that Won't Dissolve, so right now, there's nothing that I'm doing that I didn't 'originally plan for' because there's no plan! :D
There's not even anything that's completely coming out of left wing, so far everything is steady and on track.
21. What is something you didn't expect people to notice or gravitate towards in this fic?
I didn't expect so many people to believe that the town secretly or actually has Alex's back based on a few minor things, because - presumably - they're rooting for the town not to be abuse and rape apologists, which they absolutely are when it comes to Alex's family and his mom?
Like, the level of sympathy for the SDV town has made me watch in real-time in a way how much people will like... excuse the inaction of individuals or a community under excuses like 'well they want to help' or 'they're actually helping' or 'it's nice that they care for him so much' when we have extremely little evidence of that.
It was like watching that kind of abuse denial happening in a broader kind of macrocosm, and I've had to reply to actually a lot of comments - maybe over 20 now - patiently pointing out that people being benignly polite to someone doesn't mean they're being supportive or that they've ever been supportive. And that the town is a huge part of the problem.
It's one of those 'a lot of these readers have never experienced this kind of community isolation while being abused by a family member and it shows' situations, and that's realistic, it's just interesting to watch unfold!
Like, not bad, just... uncomfortable as I am someone who has experienced that isolation, and in some ways watching people defend the distance and inaction of an entire community is...a little too close to abuse apologism for comfort. The whole 'they care' without adding 'but not enough to ever have done anything about it' does make the author in me go 'OKAY SO NO ACTUALLY THAT'S NOT IT' lol.

I've been thinking about the ending of Criminal Minds 6x02 where they are all instantly so desperate to save the BAU upon learning it could be dissolved or absorbed by another department.
All of the other times this has happened (with Strauss, Barnes) we've seen it through the eyes of the team members and how personally antagonizing it is to all of them on top of the professional stress.
Because of the constant trauma bonding and unhealthy amount of time spent together over the years, their quest to keep the BAU together seems more and more personal each time.
Due to the nature of their profession, we're supposed to view them as the most reliable narrators, but it's starting to become obvious that it isn't just about saving the BAU or righting bureaucratic wrongs.
They depend on each other emotionally (even though none of them would ever admit it) and the BAU being disbanded would be devastating to each of them in a life-altering way that they can't even fathom.
The team will always put their careers and personal lives on the line to keep the BAU intact because they have become each other's strongest familial relationship and they absolutely need this.
