@moss-path's au where Squirrel and Leaf have The Three + Alder and Spark is great, so I made a slightly different version because I love SquirrelCrow too and the potential is just juicy
Squirrel+Crow and Leaf+Hawk.
Squirrel and Crow get close during the journey and especially mourn over Feathertail's death. They were both super close to her, and Brambleclaw and Stormfur are distant, so they have eachother. (I have rewrites where there's different cats on the journey, but Crow and Squirrel are always there so it works everywhere.) Leafpaw has to go to Riverclan with Cinderpelt a lot to cure a bad case of greencough that Mudfur caught as well. Mothwing is learning through them, but she cannot yet go to the Moonstone because of some weird monsters by the caves. Hawkfrost, her brother, starts hanging out with them more and more, seemingly very interested in Leafpaw (who is an adult but cannot get her name because of the Moonstone situation). Mothwing is a bit skeptical but she wants her brother to be happy, and Leafpaw is her friend. Hawk makes her feel special, like she's the Moon herself... Cinderpelt does not like this and when they leave she tries telling Leafpool that he's bad news. Leafpaw does not listen, she misses her support system in Squirrelpaw and Whitepaw, she thought she found friends and now they're gone. She sneaks out without her permission.
Anyway, they reach the Lake, they get their names, he'll yeah. Crowfeather and Squirrelflight miss eachother a lot, but after the Windclan rebellion they have uuh hung out too much and she's pregnant. Squirrelflight is scared, and they plan on having Crowfeather move over to Thunderclan... and that night the Badgers attack, and Cinderpelt is dead. Cinderpelt might have helped, but she could not. Leafpool, after noticing how Hawkfrost is trying to manipulate her and seeing him in the Dark Forest, cuts off with him. Mothwing is the one that warns her of the faked signs, and they work together to kill him in the fox trap, Brambleclaw is unable to move and this leads to bad stuff(tm). She is also pregananant. They sneak out in the night, telling the clan they believe something's calling them, and they give birth in the middle of winter in an old stump. I want to show that they have some spirits helping them, Shrewpaw, Yellowfang (who's not an asshole) and surprisingly, Mapleshade, who leads Mothwing and Crowfeather to them to help them out with food and herbs. Funny thing: no kits die! Not even Juniper and Dandelion!... because Moth and Crow bring them back: they are Breezekit and Willowkit. Willow is given to uuh I dunno? And Breeze to Nightcloud, since she just lost her kits.
I think the clan thinks they're Bramble's but they are not together so Squirrel raises them with her besties Daisy and Ferncloud. Moth and Sorrel help out Leafpool, who's not handling the postpartum depression well, but still dotes on the kittens. Also, Crow + Squirrel have Jay, Juniper/Breeze, and Holly, and Hawk + Leaf have Lion, Alder, Spark and Dandelion/Willow. The prophecy Firestar gets is about five feathers falling in camp with the leafbare wind, they're dark feathers with a shimmering blue eye pattern (like a peacock), while two others blow away. The prophecy might be about "your blood runs along feathered, chilly winds, and in their conjunction, the stars shine brighter than ever."

Trans mtf firestar x Dustpelt hypokits
Moonshine - light brown tabby cat (they/them)
Duspelt and Firestar’s relationship started off rocky. Because Dustpelt used to be on the “kittypet hate train”, he would always bully Firestar as an apprentice. But after a while, Dustpelt slowly began crushing on her and began trying to impress her at every turn. Fireheart thought he was being creepy at first, but then she slowly realized that he was only trying to get her attention … which she found to be kind of cute. They eventually began dating.
A little while into their relationship, Fireheart came out as trans and used she/her pronouns. Dustpelt fully accepted her and was very supportive. During the peace after battle with Bloodclan, Firestar and Dustpelt decided to start a family. They have only one kit, which they name Moonkit because of how beautiful the moon looked on the night they were born.
Moonshine grew up with a happy family. They are very friendly and no one in the clan ever has a problem with them. As they grew up, they found that clan life can be quite boring and began to wander out of camp every so often. It was then when they met a wandering kittypet named Joy. They chatted on their way back to Joy’s house, and decided to meet again sometime. Overtime, they went from just friends to lovers and Moonshine would sneak out of camp constantly to see her.
Their relationship continued for a few more moons before the two decided to go back to being friends. Moonshine still visits Joy, but just as a good friend. Their parents slowly discovered that they had been sneaking out at night and eventually asked. Moonshine was worried that they would be angry with them, but all they said was, “just be careful”.
Although Moonshine still wants to explore the world outside of clan boundaries, they have found comfort in their clan. They can’t see themselves anywhere else or living with anyone other than their clanmates. Nowadays, one will spot them hanging out with Cinderpelt in the medicine cat den or with other warriors. Many believe that Moonshine should have an apprentice due to their kind and gentle nature and they think so as well. Everyone just has to wait and see!
All my asks are done! (yay!) Thank you to all who have read so far. Especially for being so patient 🤗 I'll start painting soon, I just need to get my canvases! Super excited. Once again, thank you all for reading!

Any info on Cinder, Tumble or Whiskernose?
Cinderpelt is unfortunately, chronic pain queen. Her injuries were rough. A huge issue with her leg is her breaks arent just impact trauma and horizontal snaps her leg was also crushed. It was a v painful experience. One that put her in shock and she needed to be sedated for a long time. She doesn't remember a lot of what happened, but her family was there 24/7 for her. As well as her mentors. She happened to be a healer apprentice at the time, the two incidents arent connected. She also had road burn patches that needed to be covered and often reapplied with ointment. She needed help bc some of those spots were not easy to get, and before her leg was set she couldn't move a lot. She did a lot of lesions that didn't need movement. Which was awesome. It gave her a lot of time to recover mentally while also keeping her engaged. Once her leg set, she was able to start physical therapy. Riverclan shares their rivers for water therapy and several riverclan cats even helped her! Stormstar was very worried about her. He always let Mudfur help. After a tiring session Cinderpelt was allowed to hang out with the elders on the sunningrocks and hear stories. Which she enjoyed! So to this day she has buddies in Riverclan!
Tumblespeckle is a sad case bc they do end up passing. Though not from their disability. Tumblespeckle has wobbly cat syndrome which is NOT fatal. But being a kitten at the time they couldn't handle the infected water that made them, their mom, and siblings sick. They ended up passing away from acute poisoning. In Starclan, Tumblespeckle is free to wobble, run, and do anything they want. Their mentored by their uncle who also died young. And dw Dawnflower one night goes to the moonpool for the first time to find out Tumblespeckle is a full warrior and is watching over the clans.
Whiskernose is a dark forest trainee and fought in the great battle. They are covered head to toe in scars. They have hearing loss in one ear, stiff joints, skin that needs to be kept moist or else their skin will rip, and chronic pain. However, Whiskernose gets a lot of time to rest after the great battle. It's a sad time due to those who have passed but Whiskernose gets physical therapy and lots of medications that help. Honestly the hearing loss probably bothered them the most, because they relied on it a lot during hunting. But their clanmates show them new strategies and happily practice with them during hunting patrols.

some stuff i’m working on over vacation
if you have thoughts or opinions on what you'd like to see let me know.
everything is under a cut bc some of the excerpts are long.
and i see the sun in your eyes (and i see you in your son's eyes)
talljake + windclan firepaw.
and the winter comes (with howling wind)
Battles weren't supposed to be like this.
The thought echoed in Frostfur's mind, as she stood shoulder to shoulder with Brindleface at the entrance to the nursery.
Rosetail was outside, but she was an elder. If ShadowClan was attacking the nursery, they'd certainly spare no thought for an elder.
The kits cried. They didn't understand what was happening.
Outside, Frostfur watched Rosetail die.
"You stay," she said, and without giving Brindleface a chance to argue, she leapt out of the nursery.
"Blackfoot!" she hissed.
The ShadowClan deputy didn't respond, and Frostfur focused on avenging Rosetail.
And protecting her kits.
Battles weren't supposed to be like this.
They weren't supposed to end with Frostfur returning, blood still covering her, just to reassure them she was alright, only to stare in horror at their empty nest.
Brindleface stammered apologies. She was scouting a safe path to the nursery, she hadn't meant to leave them alone, only—
"It's not your fault, Brindleface," Frostfur said, her heart beating painfully fast. "Battles aren't supposed to be like this."
ask for me by the name of those who loved me
"It's cliche, really, but as she's dying (falling), Feathertail's life flashes before her eyes."

Hollykit made her first decision about the world early, like most kits:
The world was a loud place.
It didn't start that way, it started silent, and then quiet, but then it was loud.
There were so many cats, always around her, and she missed being alone, in the quiet.
She got used to it, eventually — of course she did — but sometimes it was just exhausting.

"Fireheart said you weren't my mother," Cloudpaw said. He looked up at her, pleading, and she took a breath to steady herself.
"Who nursed you?" she asked.
"You did."
"And who played with you?"
"Fernkit and Ashkit."
"And who do you come to when you have a nightmare?"
He flattened his ears, embarrassed, but still, muttered, "You."
Satisfied, Brindleface leaned down to touch noses. "I didn't give birth to you," she said. "That much is true. But Cloudpaw, that's not what it means to be a mother."
"He said he knows her," Cloudpaw said. "That she's his sister."
"That's what he told us," Brindleface said. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner. You shouldn't have had to find out from him."
Cloudpaw shifted. "Is it okay if I want to meet her?"
"Of course it is," she said, purring. Brindleface wrapped her tail around him — he'd be too big for that, soon, and she wanted to take advantage of every chance she had — and licked his head. "It's okay if you want to know her."
"I'm not mad at you," he said. "I just...I don't know."
Brindleface sighed. Sometimes, it was easy to forget that Fireheart wasn't Clanborne. But telling a kit they were born to another was the prerogative of the queen, no one else. She had intended on telling him, but not yet.
"It's okay not to know," she said. "I'll always be here for you."
Cloudpaw purred. "Maybe, one day, you two can meet," he said, hesitantly. "If she's nice."
"I'd like that," she said. "If that's what you want."
Heathertail's School for Attractive, Murderous She-Cats
"I call this moon's meeting of the support group for Crowfeather's apprentices to order," Fernstripe said, her voicing bouncing off the walls of the tunnels.
"Say the full title," Heathertail said, flicking her tail.
"Do I have to?"
"It's important," Featherpelt said. "It's part of it."
"I call this moon's meeting of the support group for Crowfeather's unreasonably attractive apprentices to order." Fernstripe's ears folded back. "I don't like calling us that."
Heathertail flicked her tail again. "And how many cats tried to talk to you at the last Gathering?"
Fernstripe looked at her claws.
"That's not fair, Heathertail. You're the only one who can count past four."
"If you have to count past four, you qualify as unreasonably attractive." Heathertail licked her paw. "The sooner you accept what you are, the sooner you can focus on the real mission."
"Killing Crowfeather?" Fernstripe perked up.
"Exactly." Heathertail touched her nose to Fernstripe's shoulder. "There she is. Now, let's go over everyone's attempts for the month."
howling ghosts (they reappear)
Squirrelflight wakes up, and she smells Bramblestar.
Something is wrong; she's not supposed to be here.
What happened? Did she get captured? Did she forget?
Has it all been some kind of terrible dream?
She fights to keep her breathing slow, not wanting to wake him.
"Squirrelflight?" he whispers, and she flinches. "Squirrelflight, it's just me."
Yes, she thinks. That's the problem.
She extracts herself from him slowly, not wanting to look suspicious. His eyes are blinking awake slowly, and he's watching her.
"Where are you going?" he asks. "The sky is still dark."
"Just to the dirtplace," she says, and she slips out of their den.
Stormcloud is sitting vigil, and he doesn't question her when she slips out of the tunnel.
Squirrelflight tries to remember what happened. She had escaped him, hadn't she?
No, she was just in the Dark Forest. She's not there, anymore, she got out, with Bramblestar.
Squirrelflight closes her eyes, her heartbeat slowing. She slips back into their den. Bramblestar has already fallen back asleep, and she takes her place at his side, curling herself into the tightest ball she can.
i saw a face in the window of the house on high
Leafpaw was six moons old the first time she met a cat who wasn't Cinderpelt.
Cinderpelt cared for her in the quiet of their hollow, sweeping herbs out of her reach until she was old enough to understand.
She learned the scent of other cats by the prey she ate, but when she turned six moons, her introduction came time.
"There are so many of them," she whispered.
"I know," Cinderpelt said, her heart wincing. "You don't have to meet them all today," she said. "They just have to meet you."
She sat quietly by Cinderpelt as cat after cat came to greet them. Their names blurred, some appearances hanging to the names Cinderpelt had told her, but others fading.
"I greet you," said a ginger she-cat. "Cinderpelt, and Leafpaw."
"Well-met, Squirrelpaw," Cinderpelt said.

Jaypaw knows he is smaller than his siblings. It's hard to miss. He's not even as tall as Squirrelflight, and barely growing, and Hollypaw and Lionpaw have already surpassed her.
He tries not to let it get to him.
He stops growing first, only a paw's width taller than Squirrelflight. Hollypaw and Lionpaw become warriors, and his whiskers touch their shoulders.
It doesn't bother him like it used to. Hollyleaf and Lionblaze are warriors, and he's just a medicine cat's apprentice, too blind and too helpless to bother teaching to fight properly. He's no longer a part of their life, not in the same way. They don't play fight with him any more, they don't talk to him when they're squabbling over Cinderheart, and he wonders if it will always be this way.
If he will always be Jaypaw, their weaker, smaller, blind baby brother who they need to protect.
(He isn't. He becomes Jayfeather, and Hollyleaf dies, and Lionblaze stops talking to him. He keeps himself up as long as he can, because if he sleeps, it's only going to be worse, giving him a face to curse for granting his wish.)

Palebird was a tunneler.
That meant she built something permanent, something the Clan would rely on for seasons upon seasons, long after Palebird herself had passed on.
You could feel the life of the Clan in the tunnels. It was something the moor runners would never understand, what it meant to build something, to create something.
WindClan has barely any dens on the surface, and their camp had changed locations more than once. A warrior with no appreciation of the tunnels did not understand what it meant to last.
But Palebird did. As did her mother and father, and their parents before them, and so would Palebird's kits.
They would know what it meant to last in a world constantly pushing them forward.

"Congratulations," Crookedjaw said as the sun rose.
Willowbreeze purred. "You woke up at dawn just to break my vigil?"
"Maybe," he said. "But I made you a nest. Come sleep."
She stood, arching her back, and brushing against him as she walked towards his den.
"There's space for me?" she asked.
"Well," Crookedjaw said. "As long as you don't mind sleeping next to me."
Willowbreeze laughed. "Let's go sleep."

my elaborate plot so I can have both HawkAsh & Mothpool
this is unedited and all over the place and IDK if i’ll ever do anything with it but whatever gonna post it,,, og canon is stupid have this instead Anyways here is my main canon changes for Ashfur & Hawkfrost ((i’ll add more cats later)) Ashpaw grew up being friends with Bramblepaw so when Brambleclaw tried to reunite with his half brother Hawkfrost, Ashfur ended up tagging a lot a lot and the two got lots of feelings for each other but didn’t do anything about it UNTIL Brambleclaw left on the big journey and then Ashfur and Hawkfrost originally hung out bc “oh we miss bramble” but they got really gay instead Meanwhile on the journey Bramble’s compulsive heterosexuality and wanting Firestar’s approval convinced himself that he “in love” with Squirrelpaw and Squirrelpaw’s own denial and guilt of her own sexuality just went along with it ((she totally had a thing for Feathertail))Anyways blah blah journey stuff - main replacement is Leafpool fell in love with Mothwing instead of Crow and Moth was trans so she’s the eventually other parent of the trio Tigerclaw continues to train the brothers in the dark forest but this time Hawkfrost doesn’t eat up his manipulation because he develops love for Ashfur and holds bitterness @ his father for murdering Ashfur’s mother and all the angry feelings of his father never being around for him and blaming Tadpool’s death on the absence of his father etc etc Hawkfrost DOES still want him and Bramble to become like a Thunderclan and Riveclan leadership duo like he’s still ambitious and bulheaded at times - just not bloodthirsty like Tigerclaw wants them to beSquirrel flight is offended by bramble’s friendship with Hawkfrost and they have their big fight and hangs out with other ppl, Ashfur 100% sees her a niece in this canon and is just protective over her like he is with his sister Leafpool and Mothwing do the run away thing - Hawkfrost distraught that his sister is gone goes to Thunderclan to get Bramble to help, Squirrelflight lashes out on them, but Firestar intervenes wanting the safety of his daughter and says he’ll let Bramble go look for Hawkfrost, Squirrel protests a little but calms down when Ashfur offers to go with them as well ((no one knows of Hawk and Ashfur’s relationship))Leafpool gets the dreams of Thunderclan being under attack and Spottedleaf persuades her to go back Mothwing is sad about it but says they’ll always have excuses to see each other being medicine cats On their way back they’re meet with Hawk, Ash, and Bramble who are relived to see that they are safe and sound However they don’t dawdle as Leafpool gets a strong vision of Thunderclan under attack and they run to their aid Hawkfrost at first tries to argue with his sister to leave the Thunderclan cats on their own but refuses to go without helping and he relents because he wants to protect Ashfurblahblah tragedy Cinderpelt dies (cries) which seals Leafpool’s fate as being the medicine cat of Thunderclan Hawkfrost and Mothwing return home IDK prob some very Gay shit happens between Hawk and Ash during the battle idk who will see but it happens Over at Thunderclan, Firestar accepts Greystripe’s “death” and makes Bramble deputy Hawkfrost seeing his brother be named deputy and still being prideful brat wanting to be leader and adored by the clan still encourages Mothwing to make a fake sign about Stormfur and Brook but big reason for this is Hawkfrost blames Stormfur for Feathertail’s death and Feathertail was one of the few cats who was always friendly to Hawkfrost and Mothwing etc etc Tigerclaw tries to encourage his sons to be bloodthirsty and take the leaderships themselves, alone he belittles and shuns Hawkfrost into doing what he wants Hawkfrost sets up the trap for Firestar but tells Ashfur what’s going on out of guilt and asks if he will save Firestar before it’s too lateAshfur rush with Firestar’s daughters to save them but Brambleclaw and Ashfur are still fighting because they’re both conflicted on their own loyalites Ashfur pushes Brambleclaw out of the way to save Hawkfrost and gets an injury in the process with makes Hawkfrost panic as he never saw Ashfur bleed so much beforeHe willingly goes with as a poisoner because he’s afraid Ashfur to die without him and Firestar observing this eventually has a discussion with Hawkfrost when Ashfur is deemed safe Hawkfrost in emotional exhaustion and protectiveness of his mate admits to Tigerclaw training he and his brotherFirestar says he can leave and he won’t tell Riverclan of his attempt to kill him if he breaks ties with Tigerclaw Hawkfrost is conflicted but talking with Ashfur when he first awakes he reluctantly agrees to Firestar’s terms Leafpool discovers she is pregnant with Mothwing’s kits and panics telling her sister that she needs to pretend she is having Brambleclaw’s kits - Squirrelflight who was on the path to accepting she was a lesbian and not attracted to Brambleclaw finds herself back to square one and fake her own happiness with him for her sister’s safety Mothwing is aware of Leafpool’s pregnancy and is angry with the concept of clans and only wants to be with her mate, one day she vents to Hawkfrost about all of this, Mistyfoot over hears Mothwing’s (nonexistant) beliefs about starclan and tries to get Leopardstar to throw out Hawkfrost and Mothwing for “scheming” against their clan as Hawkfrost escalates with argument way too fast and Mistfoot acts like a dick bc of her anger with Hawkfrost mostly Hawkfrost and Mistyfoot have a physical fight to where Mothwing defends her brother before Mistyfoot gives him a fatal injury Feeling betrayed by Riverclan Hawkfrost no longer longs to be leader of a group of “cowards and traitors” This leads him to tell his sister that they should just go to Thunderclan and be with their mates Stormfur tries to argue that Hawkfrost is just like Tigerclaw but Firestar welcomes the siblings Hawkfrost not wanting to be around Stormfur hints that he should return to Riverclan which the two consider this or returning to the tribe Hawkfrost is very melancholy and negative, only cheered up by the presence of Ashfur, and cold toward other Thunderclan cats Mothwing eagerly tries to convince Leafpool to be truthful about their kits and it causes a lot of stress and arguments between the two- Squirrelflight over hears one of this and begs her sister to go with the truth as she doesn’t love Brambleclaw and knows Thunderclan will come to accept Leafpool Leafool eventually agrees and a lot of cats are disappointed or unhappy with her but Firestar silences their disapproval and accepts his daughter and her mate Mothwing publicly being the parent of Leafpool’s kits is what seals the deal for Hawkfrost and Mothwing staying in Thunderclan During the next big meeting Leopardstar, conflicted, tries to convince Hawkfrost and Mothwing that they belong in Riverclan and that Mistyfoot was too harsh on them But Hawkfrost very aggressively denies this suggestion, he is extremely bitter against Riverclan which gives Mothwing the courage to say no as well even though Leopardstar pleads they dont have a proper medicine cat The gathering gets very heated but Brook offers to medicine cat if Riverclan were to welcome them back and Leopardstar and Mistyfoot agree Leafpool eventually gives birth to the Trio, taking place in the nursery as Mothwing takes over being official medicine in the meantime and the clan upset that Jaykit is born blind but his mothers love him regardless Hawkfrost actually becomes a very stubborn defend of Jaykit’s potetional as a warrior Hollykit being super close to her mother’s and thus becoming very engrossed in medicine still becomes medicine cat appretience Lionpaw still gets Ashfur as a mentor but Ashfur is less of an OOC asshole Brightheart works hard with Jaypaw to use his blindness to his advantage and Hawkfrost becomes a second pseudo mentor as the clan still feels too weary about Hawkfrost to give him an appetence but it’s his sister kit and ppl believing Jaypaw cannot become a warrior bc of the blindness pisses Hawkfrost off Hawkfrost is the first to learn of Jaypaw being able to walk amongst other cats dreams but encourages him to keep him to himself as the clan would use “any excuse” to have him not be a warrior

Can I get a brief summary of SH? I've just heard so much bullshit about it but I also wanna know how it goes?
let’s see
-squirrelflight is feeling old and also wants more kits, she keeps bringing it up to bramblestar but he keeps shooting her down and being kind of an ass about it
-shadowclan is getting pissed because they “can’t use” the territory riverclan gave them because they “can’t hunt on marsh”
-thunderclan is hardly using the moor they got from windclan and everyone’s getting pissy
-tigerheart wants skyclan to move again, bramblestar says that they shouldn’t have to move again, squirrelflight suggests they move to the territory above shadowclan and thunderclan, they can go look at it and see if leafstar would like to move there and if she doesn’t she doesn’t have to
-bramblestar gets pissed that squirrelflight dared not agree with him in front of the other leaders, particularly tigerheartstar
-squirrelflight goes and takes leafstar to look at the territory anyway without telling bramblestar, where they find the sister, lead by a pregnant queen, moonlight, living in the territory but they’d only be staying there until her kits could leave, also this group of she-cats kick out their sons once they get to a certain age and the stars are right (they actually use a constellation, finally, constellations in these books about cats who worship the moon and stars), also they can see ghosts, just like tree
-the sisters keep leafstar and squirrelflight hostage because they don’t want the clans attacking them, for good reason, they treat them well and say that they can leave once moonlight has her kits and they can travel, squirrelflight says that thunderclan would never attack them, and then thunderclan and skyclan arrive to save them’
-the other clans find out about the sisters and tigerstar says that they should the queens out and have skyclan move, leafstar’s like “i haven’t even agreed to move there yet, i’m thinking about it”, tigerstar, mistystar, and harestar put pressure on her
-bramblestar gets so pissed at squirrelflight he doesn’t talk to her for a week, also sparkpelt’s pregnant with larksong’s kits, squirrelflight’s very happy for her daughter but is also jealous that she can’t have more kits too
-thunderclan and windclan share the moor that windclan gave them to ease the tension a little bit but this pisses riverclan off
-shadowclan went over to the sisters’ territory and then when the sisters go into shadowclan territory to see what the heck they were doing they get in a fight and one of the sisters, sunrise, claw’s strikestone’s ear off, it gets infected and he loses his hearing in that ear, sunrise also gets badly hurt and they go to thunderclan for help where half of thunderclan decides that they would rather this queen die than possibly have tigerstar find out they let this cat live
-bramblestar literally has jayfeather and alderheart go to the moonpool to ask starclan if they should treat the queen, hollyleaf tells them “i dunno” and leafpool treats sunrise anyway because what the fuck thunderclan and bramblestar, thornclaw and blossomfall decide they need to guard this dying cat because she might destroy thunderclan, they also force the other sisters to go home
-sunrise can finally go home and then the clans decide to use tree to get the sisters to leave and tigerstar says that if they don’t leave soon they will attack, harestar and mistystar agrees, bramblestar says maybe, leafstar says don’t you dare
-we learn that tree was one of the sisters and moonlight was his mother and his name used to be earth and he has a grudge against them because why the fuck would you make your son who isn’t even full grown leave, he doesn’t really try that hard and the sisters say that they will not leave
-also thunderclan apparently has some plant that doesn’t hurt prey but will kill cats and suddenly larksong just collapses and almost dies, everyone starts freaking out and blaming the sisters, squirrelflight goes to the sisters for help and they’re like “we were wondering why you keep that shit in your territory, but we know how to cure it” and so they help but oh no sparkpelt starts giving birth and one of her kits and larksong both die and about the same time because larksong wasn’t able to be cured in time
-squirrelflight goes back to the sisters and moonlight still hasn’t given birth yet, the sisters have a ceremony for larksong and his kit and they say that they saw them
-sparkpelt falls into a depression and won’t interact with her kits at all, squirrelflight tries to help but it doesn’t work, she decides she’ll treat these kits as her own
-shadowclan, windclan, and riverclan decided that they’re all going to attack this small band of queens, mind you they are all perfectly aware that their leader is heavily pregnant, and if they don’t leave in the next day, also thunderclan joins in because bramblestar isn’t actually a leader and just folds into peer pressure from his nephew and he just really cares about what tigerheart thinks for some fucking reason
-i forgot to mention after squirrelflight comes back to thunderclan, bramblestar makes her tell him every move she makes, including who’s going to go on what patrol
-squirrelflight has a dream that something bad is happening with moonlight and her kits and she goes to leafpool and asks her about it, they both go to the sisters and moonlight is having a very hard to kitting, leafpool is trying to help when now the clans (except for skyclan) are attacking, i’d like to remind you that this is a band of like maybe 10-12 cats being attacked by four entire clans
the sisters run into a cave or some sort of cavern to hide but tigerheart and bramblestar have their warriors continue to go after them squirrelflight yells “NO SHE JUST GAVE BIRTH TO HER KITS” and tigerheart’s like “what no one said anything about kits!” except they literally did, multiple times, you’ve KNOWN moonlight was pregnant and was going to have her kits soon
-the cave or whatever structure starts to fall in and leafpool and moonlight and her kits are still inside, squirrelflight goes in to save them, no one else goes in to help
-they get the three kits out, but then the roof caves in and leafpool and squirrelflight are in starclan
-they need to go on trial to see if they can stay if they actually die because obviously they’re so terrible, yellowfang, bluestar, moth flight, and littlecloud for some reason are on the trial
-they’re all assholes, especially moth flight and littlecloud for some reason and they’re also really hypocritical but then they decide they can stay if they day but they’re on thin fucking ice
-squirrelflight asks if it’s weird for hollyleaf that ashfur is in starclan and she’s like “no, he apologized” which is fucking bullshit since squirrelflight and leafpool barely got in apparently???
-squirrelflight gets to play with her dead kits, juniperkit and dandelionkit, who we find out are being taken care of by mousefur and longtail, we learn that starclan cats can’t get hurt in starclan, leafpool hangs out with cinderpelt a lot and is getting real homey, also she talks with larksong and flutterkit and larksong tells her to tell sparkpelt that him and flutterkit are happy and safe and that she needs to be their for her living kits and that he wants her to be happy
-squirrelflight desperately doesn’t want to die because her loved ones need her, so she jumps through a pool to try to come back, she’s a ghost, tree sees her, she hears bramblestar saying that he shouldn’t have been such an asshole, squirrelflight starts to fade back into her body and then passes out again after she realizes leafpool is dead and she’s back in starclan, leafpool admits that she WANTS to stay, the clan will be fine without her and so will squirrelflight, they were away from each other before and that just made them closer, leafpool and squirrelflight see a vision of lionblaze, jayfeather, alderheart, and sparkpelt sharing prey together and leafpool tells squirrelflight to take care of them as she fades away and squirrelflight wakes up again in her physical body and you can hear ever person reading this book cry
-also for some reason firestar and sandstorm REALLY wanted squirrelflight to stay with them
-squirrelflight tells sparkpelt that she spoke to larksong and he and flutterkit want her to be happy and love and take care of her living kits, sparkpelt doesn’t believe her until she realized that squirrelflight wouldn’t have known that her and larksong had planned to call one of the kits flutterkit, she starts to play with her kits
-squirrelflight goes to see how the sisters are and skyclan has moved into the territory, the sisters are staying with them, moonlight died in the cave in, but her kits are fine, violetshine is nursing them with her kits rootkit and needlekit, and they’re going to go past the lake and horseplace once the kits can travel, as per ghost moonlight’s instructions
-bramblestar doesn’t even apologize to squirrelflight and is instead like “you’ve always challenged me, let’s never fight again, let’s TALK first before we get mad” when it was HIM who REFUSED to talk to her or communicate at all and god he’s so fucking terrible
-squirrelflight decides that she doesn’t need more kits because the younger cats will have kits and those can be her kits because they’re a clan and they’ll take care of each other

🌞 Whitewing or Onestar!
I like Whitewing more than Onestar, but I actually have a Onewhisker AU in my doc. Let’s go with him.
ThunderClan!Onewhisker AU
It starts immediately after Fireheart’s patrol arrives in WindClan, when Tigerstar invaded and killed Gorsepaw.
Onewhisker admits to Firestar that he doesn’t think he can stay in WindClan any longer. He loves his Clan deeply, but he’s lost so many friends in the last moons; he has no kin left, either.
He says that the camp reeks like blood and fear now, even though they’ve done their best to clean it. Everytime he passes the spot where Tigerstar held Gorsepaw down, he can still hear his screams.
In this AU, Graystripe is still in RiverClan with his kits. Fireheart misses his best friend now more than ever, so after Onewhisker’s confession, Fireheart invites him to join ThunderClan.
It is not a decision that Onewhisker makes lightly. He’s always been a proud WindClan warrior. He’s never doubted his place in the Clan before. But if something doesn’t change soon then he’s going to go insane.
He takes Fireheart up on his offer. Onewhisker’s Clanmates are furious and call him a mouse-heart and a traitor, and he leaves with his head hanging. ThunderClan aren’t sure how they feel about their new Clanmate, and most of them would like to not trust him, but he looks so pitiful that they can’t bring themselves to hate him.
Bluestar isn’t happy about Onewhisker’s decision to join the Clan, but she treats his situation very similar to Graystripe’s in canon: what difference will one more traitor make?
The WindClan warriors were all starving, so the first thing Fireheart does is pick out the fattest mouse on the fresh-kill pile for Onewhisker. He obviously isn’t used to forest prey, but he’s so hungry that he devours it in only a few bites. Despite the fact that mice are smaller than rabbits, Onewhisker is surprised when the smaller animals fills him up.
By that point it’s getting late, so Fireheart shows Onewhisker where to get the best nesting materials.
As he weaves his nest together, there is a stone of dread in Onewhisker’s chest at the thought of sleeping in a den rather than underneath the stars. He places his nest at the front of the den where the newest warriors typically sleep, so that he can at least see a piece of Silverpelt.
Brackenfur and Cloudtail also sleep at the front of the den. Brackenfur is a very compassionate tom and Cloudtail knows that Onewhisker is a loyal friend of Fireheart’s, so they smile politely at the former WindClanner and do their best to make him feel welcomed.
The night is long and sleep evades him at every turn, but Onewhisker finds slight comfort in the fact that he will be able to make friends.
The next day Fireheart leads a border patrol and assigns Onewhisker to it. As they patrol, he points out landmarks and helps him navigate the bracken and brambles.
Privately, Fireheart is worried about Onewhisker’s future as a ThunderClan warrior. He has a difficult time navigating the territory, and thorns are inexplicably drawn to his paws. After just one patrol, Onewhisker returns exhausted and heads straight to Cinderpelt.
Sandstorm echos his concerns, but when Fireheart tries to defend his friend, she retorts, “If Onewhisker would leave his birth Clan because life there was hard, what’s to stop him from leaving ThunderClan?”
Onewhisker overhears everything. Rather than discourage him, it motivates him to try his hardest to learn ThunderClan’s ways. He doesn’t want to be known as a quitter who can’t be depended on when the going gets tough.
When Fireheart is busy with his deputy duties, Onewhisker explores the territory with Brackenfur, practices his battle moves with Cloudtail, and goes hunting with Sandstorm. Slowly but surely he improves.
“We’ll make a Thundercat out of you yet,” Sandstorm praises him when he catches a mouse. He walks back to camp with his tail high.
When Tigerstar lures the dog pack into ThunderClan territory, Onewhisker demands to be apart of the line that draws them away from the Clan.
“Are you sure?” Fireheart asks. “You know you’re way around the territory now, but the undergrowth still trips you up. If you want to hide with the Clan, no one will fault you.”
Yes, they will. But Onewhisker doesn’t say that.
Instead he says, “I’ve got WindClan blood, Fireheart — I’m the fastest cat you’ve got. Besides, this is personal.” His eyes harden. “I didn’t stand a chance against Tigerstar when I was in WindClan. But here, where I can use my speed, I can actually help.”
Denying Onewhisker this right would be like denying Ashpaw and Fernpaw’s right to avenge their mother. He owes them this.
So Onewhisker will be apart of the line, then.
When his turn comes, he runs like he’s never run before. He pumps his legs as he leaps over tree roots and ducks underneath the undergrowth. He doesn’t trip once, or step on a single thorn.
He can’t help but feel very proud of himself once his turn is over. He’s never moved like that before in his life. For the first time ever — he finally feels like a ThunderClan warrior.
And when Fireheart shares the news that Bluestar is dead, he grieves like one. He grew up hearing stories of the elegant leader. She was never fond of him, but Onewhisker honors her legacy all the same.
Before Fireheart leaves to receive his nine lives, he admits to Onewhisker, “I have no clue who my deputy will be.”
Onewhisker blinks. “You’ll pick Sandstorm, won’t you? You’re very close.”
“That’s the problem,” Fireheart says quietly. “With positions of power comes great danger. If someone wanted to hurt me they would hurt Sandstorm, even though she’s just a warrior. But if she were my deputy, I feel like that would put an even bigger target on her back.”
Onewhisker considers that. “Are you sure?”
Fireheart shrugs, forlorn. “Not really. But am I willing to chance her life like that?”
“Sandstorm can defend herself,” Onewhisker meows quietly.
Sometimes, when he stands tall in the sunlight, Fireheart looks like a blaze of fire. In those moments, Onewhisker truly believes that Fireheart could do anything.
But right now he just looks tired. “I know,” he murmurs. Then he leaves for Highstones with Cinderpelt.
When Fireheart returns he is no longer Fireheart, but Firestar — leader of ThunderClan.
“I say these words before StarClan, so that the spirits of our warrior ancestors may hear and approve of my choice. The new deputy of ThunderClan is Sandstorm.”
The she-cat looks surprised for a heartbeat before she puffs out her chest and proudly accepts the position.
Firestar made the right choice. Together, they will rule the forest in a blaze of glory.
But first, Tigerstar must be dealt with. Especially now that he’s recruited Leopardstar into joining TigerClan.
Even though he doesn’t say anything, it’s clear that Firestar is worried about Graystripe. For awhile no one sees him on patrols or the latest Gathering.
Then Ravenpaw bursts into camp with news of Bonehill. Firestar quickly calls for Sandstorm and Onewhisker, and they race for the RiverClan border.
The scenario plays out very similar to canon, except Graystripe has also been lumped in with the “traitors”.
Blackfoot kills Stonefur. The ThunderClan cats manage to help Graystripe, Mistyfoot, Featherpaw and Stormpaw escape.
“Onewhisker?” Graystripe asks, when he sees the former WindClan warrior.
“Long story,” Onewhisker meows. “We’ll talk later.”
The refugees take shelter in ThunderClan until the battle with BloodClan.
When that battle arrives, Onewhisker fights with all the might of a ThunderClan warrior. He lives to tell about it, too.
Sandstorm does not.
“Scourge went for her first,” Firestar whispers, voice thick with grief. “He thought it would enable me; he was wrong. I fought even harder, for her.” He chokes up and bows his head.
Tears pool in Onewhisker’s eyes. Scourge must have known Sandstorm was special to Firestar after he made her his deputy. He can’t help but think, if it weren’t for him, Firestar would have chose another as his deputy...
But a victory is a victory. That night the Clans celebrate their freedom from Tigerstar and from BloodClan.
“What will you do?” Onewhisker asks Graystripe after the battle.
The warrior gestures to Mistyfoot and his kits across the camp. “Return to RiverClan,” Graystripe says. “I wish I could be here for Firestar, but he has you to keep him out of trouble. Leopardstar isn’t popular right now, and my kits need me now more than ever.” His voice softens ever so slightly. “Mistyfoot, too.”
Graystripe looks back at Onewhisker. “You’ll make sure he’s okay, though, won’t you?”
Onewhisker knows what he means. “He’ll be alright. I’ll let you know if he ever needs you.”
Graystripe nods his thanks, then goes to join his kits.
As the sun sets behind the treeline, Firestar calls a meeting. Everyone knows what it is about.
Considering he just lost his mate and deputy in battle, Onewhisker thinks that Firestar looks impressive. He stands tall in the glow of the sunset, muscles rippling, green eyes like solid emeralds.
“The new deputy is Onewhisker.”
No cat is more surprised than he is to hear his name called. The Clan cheers his name while Onewhisker can only sit there, stunned.
“You accept, don’t you?” Firestar asks, as he descends from the Highrock.
Onewhisker doesn’t know what to say, other than, “... did you just give me a death sentence?”
“I gave you an honor,” Firestar corrects him. He musters a smile. “I don’t regret making Sandstorm my deputy. She was the perfect cat for the job. Besides, the last time I didn’t give her what she deserved, she gave me the silent treatment for days.” His smile softens. “I know she would approve of her successor.”
Onewhisker was never an ambitious tom; he never dreamed of growing up and becoming deputy, much less the deputy of ThunderClan. But when Firestar words it like that...
“I’ll make her proud,” Onewhisker promises. As he speaks, a thrill shoots down his spine; one he hasn’t felt since he led the dog pack away from camp.
Firestar gazes at him like he knows the feeling. “Of course you will.”

Burning Water Chapter Sixteen
RiverClan and ShadowClan had not yet arrived, but WindClan was already there. Tallstar greeted Bluestar with a respectful nod. Fireheart spotted Onewhisker and bounded over to meet him.
“Hi!” he meowed. It had been over two moons since he’d last seen the small brown tabby warrior at Fourtrees, when WindClan had been brought home.
 “How’s everyone been? How’s Morningflower?”
“Happy to be home,” replied Onewhisker. “Her kit is growing quickly now.”
 Fireheart purred gratefully.
“The whole Clan is well,” Onewhisker added. He glanced at Fireheart with an amused gleam in his eyes. “It’s great to eat rabbit again. I hope I never have to taste another rat as long as I live!”
Fireheart detected a fresh scent on the night air. RiverClan was coming. He could smell ShadowClan, too. He scanned the ridge that ran around the edge of the hollow. Sure enough, RiverClan cats were streaming down one side. On the opposite ridge, Fireheart saw ShadowClan cats poised at the top, their coats gleaming in the moonlight. The lean figure of Nightpelt stood at the head of the group.
“At last,” growled Onewhisker. He’d spotted them as well. “It’s too cold to be hanging around tonight.”
Fireheart nodded absently. He was searching the crowd of RiverClan cats as they entered the clearing, looking for Silverstream. He recognized the pale gray she-cat easily. She skidded to a halt at the bottom of the slope, then followed her father as he exchanged reserved greetings with the warriors from the other Clans. Fireheart was tracking her so closely that he didn’t hear Deadfoot approach.
“Good evening,” meowed the WindClan deputy. “How are you?”
“Fine, more than.” The ginger tom meowed. He was about to say more when the familiar call of his sister jolted him from his thoughts.
“Fireheart, Fireheart!” She yelped. “You didn’t tell me there’d be so many cats!”
Nutleaf was shivering, he realized as she promptly glued herself to his side.
“Greetings, young one.” Deadfoot meowed calmly. “Might I ask your name?”
“Nutleaf.” The brown and white she-cat stammered.  “I assume you are from ThunderClan?”
 Nutleaf nodded.
“Fireheart’s my brother. I only came tonight because he and Bluestar want me to meet new cats, but there’s so many in ThunderClan alone… Stars, I’m babbling! I knew I should have stayed in the nursery!” She squeaked.
“You can’t hide in a den forever.” Fireheart insisted gently.
“Watch me!” She hissed. “At the very least, I know Cloudkit will be getting into all sorts of trouble without me.”
“Cloudkit has Frostfur to reel him in.” Her brother reminded her. “He’ll not put one paw out of line if he wants to play Mossball ever again. You’ll be fine, Nutleaf, and if you feel too overwhelmed you can always stick with me.”
“If you’d like, I could show you around a bit.” Deadfoot was the one who spoke, much to the surprise of his tabby Clanmate.
“If it’s not too much trouble.” Nutleaf whispered.
“You remind me quite a bit of my son, Crowkit. He’s at the age where he can start walking and is absolutely determined to do so by himself, but if he sees another cat besides me or Ashfoot coming, he’ll run for the nest quicker than we can say ‘hare!’ It’s the cutest thing.” Deadfoot purred. “You mentioned that you have kits of your own?”
Deadfoot lead Nutleaf through the crowd, and Fireheart, confident in the WindClan deputy, turned back to Onewhisker.
 “You’ve been blessed by StarClan!”
Fireheart fought the urge to laugh. Poor Onewhisker had no idea how right he was.
“Seriously, Deadfoot only talks to Tallstar and Ashfoot, and I’ve never heard him breathe a word about Crowkit!”
“That’s nice to know.” The ThunderClan warrior chuckled, scanning the crowd for Silverstream. She sat with Blackclaw and Greenflower, and she flicked her tail when she met his gaze.
“Would you like to meet some of my friends?” He asked.
Onewhisker nodded and they weaved through the crowd.
“Well met, Firestar.” Silverstream purred, dipping her head.
“You’ve got to stop calling me that.” Fireheart groaned. “I’m not going to be leader of ThunderClan.”
At least, he hoped. He desperately, desperately hoped.
“Well, you act like one.” Greenflower chirped. “Have you met Blackclaw? He’s my mate!”
“We’ve met.” The RiverClan tom nodded politely.
“It’s good to see you again, and congratulations.”
“To you as well, or so I hear.” Greenflower purred. “So, what’s she like?”
He was saved from having to answer by the call for the Gathering to start.
“We welcome Tallstar and WindClan back to the forest!”
“RiverClan has been on our territory and I would like to know why.” Bluestar hissed acidly.
“The river has been frozen for too long this leafbare, and the Twolegs have caused lasting damage to the prey in our territory. We have to go out of our way for food, yes, but we've found a spot. Any cats found on your territory are not there on any mission I know of, so feel free to treat them as you wish. No true member of RiverClan would be so foolish as to disobey their leader. Besides, ThunderClan seems remarkably keen to mark their border with us, so there shouldn't be a problem.”
Bluestar looked troubled, but dipped her head.
“We'll keep sharp eyes on who comes and goes. Hopefully after tonight, no cat will stray.”
Fireheart found himself looking for Greystripe, mind blazing with fury. It was about time the grey tabby took responsibility for his actions.
Blackstar,” Bluestar went on to address the new leader. “ShadowClan seems to be thriving under your leadership.”
 “Thank you, Bluestar.”
“Have you seen any hint of Brokenstar in your territory? We've found strange scents on ours, like ShadowClan mixed with nothing I've ever put my nose to before.”
 Blackstar bristled, shocked.
“We have not.” He offered solemnly. “But if we do, if any of you encounter our former leader and his band of rogues, make sure you're not alone and make sure he dies for it.”
“Indeed, we will keep that in mind.” Tallstar spoke for the first time tonight. “Because we have come across the same scents as Bluestar on some of our patrols. It would seem that Brokenstar couldn't see fit to      stay     gone.”
“Well, let us hope he hasn't got anything in the works for newleaf, but we should watch our backs nonetheless,” Blackstar announced to the cats of the Gathering. “I won't tell your leaders how to lead, but for your own safety, do not go anywhere alone. Brokenstar is too dangerous to be faced head-on without at least a patrol’s worth of cats.”
“We will keep your concerns in mind. Thank you for your advice to us and your service to ShadowClan.”
The other three leaders had merely the usual to report, so the Gathering ended rather quickly.
Fireheart found himself brushing pelts with Nutleaf as she chattered on about Deadfoot and who she was introduced to.
“I'm proud of you.” He murmured to his sister. “Thank you for being so brave tonight. You faced a fear.”
 “I had help.” Nutleaf mumbled.
“You did make a friend or two.” Fireheart chuckled. “What did you and Deadfoot talk about?”
Nutleaf brightened and told her brother all about the WindClan deputy and his family. His mate was eager to be a warrior again, so instead of lounging around in the den with Crowkit, Ashfoot often taught him hunting crouches and WindClan battle swipes. Nothing major, of course, but just enough to keep her kit entertained and herself sharp on her paws.
“I was thinking, now that the kits are up and about, that I could start spending time with Yellowfang in the medicine den. I’d still be wherever my kits are, but it’d be nice to see what I’m getting into.”
“That sounds like a good idea. You should see what Bluestar and Yellowfang think.”
He was sure the former ShadowClan medicine cat would be more than willing to pass on her knowledge. Yellowfang had never truly seemed like the mothering type. Then he remembered that she’d had kits of her own that she’d never gotten to raise and she’d crafted Cinderpelt into a fine apprentice. So maybe it just wasn’t as obvious as it was in Goldenflower or Willowpelt.
The patrol padded into camp and Bluestar called a Clan meeting.
“It turns out that the strange scents we found were not the ShadowClan we’ve come to know, but the rogues we thought to have left behind. Brokenstar is back in the forest.” She announced.
A mix of fear and anger rose in the yowls of his Clanmates, and Fireheart fought the urge to join them. He remembered easily enough what ThunderClan had decided to do after successfully defeating the former ShadowClan rogues, and if he wanted to avoid that this time then he’d have to speak with Bluestar. Stars, if he wanted to avoid the ridiculous state the camp had been left in when Brokenstar had attacked he’d have to tell Bluestar.
Overall, he didn’t have the best feeling about tomorrow… maybe some rest would do him well.
“You do realize that StarClan isn’t the answer to your every problem.” Redtail offered from far off. Fireheart groaned.
“Then why do I keep coming here?”
“You seek guidance,” The tortoiseshell tom informed him. “but we don’t see much beyond our own skies, and Brokenstar is well beyond StarClan.”
“Do you think there’s anything I can do to prevent Brokenstar’s devastation of our camp? And the fact that we sheltered him before?”
“Some things, you’ll have to figure out on your own, young one. I      can     tell you that you’re on the right track.”
“Good to know.” Fireheart muttered bitterly. If StarClan couldn’t give him answers, what hope did any of them have against Brokenstar? They’d survived the first time by a hair on a downy kit’s pelt, because the patrols were fast enough to get back and Brokenstar hadn’t have the weight of his Clan behind him. If things changed this time as much as they already had…
“Sleep, young tom. Tell Sandstorm that I’m doing enough pestering for the both of us.”
“You’re… alright with us being together?” Fireheart asked.
“You’re as good a cat as anyone else she could have latched onto. Good luck with your choice, Fireheart. Mercy is never an easy thing to give, but it does wonders for one’s character.”
“Thank you, Redtail.” He whispered before darkness consumed him.
Fireheart snapped awake and rolled to his paws. He had a catastrophe to avert.
 “Bluestar, may we speak?”
The ginger tom stood at the entrance to the leader’s den, watching the lichen sway in the night breeze.
“Come in, Fireheart. What would you like to discuss?”          Fireheart stepped through the lichen to find Bluestar and Whitestorm sharing tongues.
“Sometimes I can’t sleep.” The snowy tom admitted. Fireheart nodded. He knew what that was like.
“I… one of my dreams has made a reappearance. I think it means something about tomorrow.”          “What happens tomorrow, Fireheart?” Bluestar asked, eyes calm as she stared at him.
“I think Brokenstar is going to attack one of the Clans. Ours is most likely, because we helped ShadowClan drive him out, but we should get word to ShadowClan that he might be coming for them. And…”
“Yes?” His leader’s meow was surprisingly patient, and Whitestorm was staring at him curiously.
“I think we shouldn’t have too many warriors out of camp the next few days.”          “I’ll tell Tigerclaw to plan the patrols accordingly. Do you think this will defeat Brokenstar once and for all?”          “It will help.” The ginger tom insisted.
“Good, then. Rest well, Fireheart. You may have avoided a battle tonight.”
     Or made it worse…
Fireheart dipped his head and padded out of the den.
What should happen now?          He was far too wired to sleep, and no one was awake this time of night.
“I hope you’re not thinking of leaving camp.” Whitestorm rumbled. Fireheart tripped over his paws and tumbled down the rocky path from Highrock. Whitestorm stood at the entrance to his aunt’s den, and stared at the ginger warrior. He was not impressed.
 “Not really.”
Something told him there could only be trouble at this time of night. He was far better off staying in camp.
“Good.” The snow-pelted tom meowed. “Then you won’t mind me joining you.”
 Fireheart narrowed his eyes.
“If that’s what you want to do.” He offered warily. This version of Whitestorm was far stranger than the one of his previous youth. There was hardly any of the older tom’s previous openness here, and while Fireheart never felt uncomfortable around the yellow-eyed warrior, he did have an unsettled way about him. The need to sit up straight and lick his chest fur basically quadrupled, that was for sure.
Fireheart smothered the urge as he settled into the grassy clearing that made up the camp’s floor. Whitestorm did the same, and placed his head on his paws.
“I do believe,” He murmured. “that of all the cats I’ve met, you intrigue me the most.”
Heat bloomed in his chest and warmed him from nose to tail-tip. It wasn’t the same as being with Sandstorm, thank StarClan, but it was almost… almost like finding Nutleaf in the forest. But why?

Photo Allegiances, Personalities, Relationships (Pt. 1)
Bramblestar:
Tumblr media
Bramblestar is the uncertain leader of ThunderClan. Once, he was a strong and bold warrior, but since a series of tragedies that killed the former leader, Firestar, and later, his mate and kits, Bramblestar has lost his former confidence and is a shell of his former self. Many of his Clanmates suspect him of being involved in the deaths of his leader and kin, but others oppose the leader because they think he has gone too soft. The recent loss of Sunningrocks without a fight has only reinforced the beliefs of the later, and though Bramblestar has recently resolved himself to try harder to maintain control of the Clan, it may be too late to sway some of his most outspoken opponents. Since becoming leader, he has become much closer with Sandstorm, his deputy, and Firestar’s former mate.
Sandstorm:
Tumblr media
Sandstorm is ThunderClan’s deputy, and though she isn’t as young as she used to be, she isn’t ready to retire anytime soon. Much of the leadership of ThunderClan has fallen onto her shoulders due to Bramblestar’s hands-off approach (or rather, his habit of brooding alone in his den), and many warriors trust her to keep things running smoothly. While many cats want Bramblestar gone, there’s few that don’t support Sandstorm, and most ThunderClan cats would agree they wouldn’t be too upset if something happened to Bramblestar and Sandstorm became leader in his place. Sandstorm spends much of her free time around the elders’ den, hanging around her life-long friends, Graystripe and Dustpelt, or helps out in apprentice training sessions. She is frustrated with her daughter, Leafpool, for becoming distant from Sandstorm ever since Squirrelflight and her kits died, and most of her attempts to reconnect have gone without success. She gets along with Cinderpelt, ThunderClan’s older medicine cat, and sometimes the pair will reminisce about Firestar together.
Cinderpelt:
Tumblr media
ThunderClan’s cheery and dependable medicine cat, Cinderpelt, always seems to know how to brighten someone’s day. She’s a bit older than most cats, but she still has a very spunky attitude and loves encouraging apprentices to bend the rules and have a bit of fun. Still, she takes her job very seriously, and doesn’t mess around when it comes to taking care of her Clan. She’s very close with her former apprentice, Leafpool, as well as her brother, Brackenfur. She spends a bit more time around the elders’ den now that he’s retired, and thinks that she wouldn’t mind settling down in a few moons herself. There’s not a single cat in ThunderClan who think too crossly of Cinderpelt, though some of the mentors will grumble and kick their paws when they realize it was her that gave their apprentices ideas for pranks.
Leafpool:
Tumblr media
Leafpool is a quiet and kind medicine cat. She is generally sensible, but she has strayed from her code before, and now suspects Bramblestar of murdering Firestar, Squirrelflight, Jayfeather, Lionblaze, and Hollyleaf. Her reason is different than most, for she is the true mother of Squirrelflight’s kits. When she fell in love with Mothwing, RiverClan’s medicine cat, she became pregnant and was forced to hide her pregnancy to avoid losing her position. Squirrelflight dutifully took on Leafpool’s kits as her own - but Bramblestar never knew. Leafpool is certain that Bramblestar learned the truth and used the fire to kill Squirrelflight and punish her for lying. Bound by her rage and grief as a mother, sister, and daughter, as well as her deep sense of duty to protect her Clan, Leafpool has sworn to find a way to unseat his leadership, and has slowly been swaying cats out of trusting him one way or another. While she has turned many away from Bramblestar, she has also cost herself some of her close relationships, including with her own mother, and her dear friend, Sorreltail.
Brightheart:
Tumblr media
ThunderClan’s current most senior warrior, Brightheart is a reliable and respected cat. She still bears the scars from fighting a pack of dogs, and in her position as a senior warrior, they’ve gained her a lot of respect and awe from cats who weren’t alive during the time of the dog pack. She helped Longtail adjust after his blindness began, and trained him to hunt and fight without sight. Since then, she mentored Owlheart, and privately hopes to train one of her kits when they are apprentices. She loves her mate, Cloudtail, and is fiercely proud of her daughter, Whitewing, as well her granddaughters, Dovepaw and Ivypaw. Some cats expect her to become deputy someday, but Brightheart would be happy to retire with her mate and watch her kin grow up. She certainly wouldn’t turn down the offer it came her way, though.
Cloudtail:
Tumblr media
Bold, headstrong, and a bit full of himself, Cloudtail is a well-known ThunderClan warrior throughout all Clans for not being afraid of speaking his mind. He’s good at hunting and fighting and he knows it. Cloudtail gets along well with most cats, but he also easy angers them as well due to not being able to keep his mouth shut sometimes. He might be a senior warrior, but many cats say he still acts like the rebellious apprentice he used to be. Lately, he’s gotten caught up in the crowd of cats who aren’t too happy with Bramblestar’s leadership. While he doesn’t suspect Bramblestar of murdering his uncle, he wasn’t very happy with the loss of Sunningrocks to RiverClan, and thinks that Bramblestar had better step it up before things get too out of hand.
Ashfur:
Tumblr media
Ashfur is a bit of an oddity in ThunderClan in that most cats don’t exactly like him, but he still manages to bend their ear his way. Some of the elders mutter that he reminds them of a former warrior called Darkstripe, and not in a good way. Ashfur is a capable warrior, but he’s often stirring up trouble from the background and then pretending he has no idea what’s going on. Since the fire, he’s formed a strange allegiance with Leafpool, and both are working to unseat Bramblestar in their own way. He tends to have a knack for weeding out the unhappy cats in the Clan, and he’s formed a strange posse with Poppyfrost and Spiderleg, two cats who don’t get along but still listen to what Ashfur has to say. His apprentice, Bumblepaw, hangs on to his every word, though the cheerful tom hasn’t seemed to yet inherited his mentor’s conniving and sulking attitude.
Sorreltail:
Tumblr media
Though she doesn’t show it in personality, Sorreltail is regarded as one of ThunderClan’s strongest warriors. The muscular molly can be trusted to handle her own in any fight, and most enemy warriors do their best to avoid her if they can. She has a classic ThunderClan build in her large size and strength, and she’s not afraid to throw her weight around if she needs to. On the other hand, Sorreltail is a bubbly, friendly cat, and she gets along with just about anyone, if she puts her mind to it. She’s the mother of Mistheart, Poppyfrost, and Honeyfern, but she acts like a mother to any cat even a moment younger than her. Sorreltail is good friends with Bramblestar, though she doesn’t spend much time around him anymore due to how much he sulks in his den. Still, she cares about him and doesn’t entertain any talk against him. She had a falling out with Leafpool after Leafpool tried to convince her that Bramblestar couldn’t be trusted, and she tries to go to Cinderpelt for any of her medicine cat needs now.
Sootfur:
Tumblr media
Sootfur is a considerably average warrior. Neither an incredible hunter nor a fighter (but not terrible at either), Sootfur happily drifts from duty to duty without complaint. He’s a pretty mellow, down-to-earth warrior, without ambition. He doesn’t care much for the politics of Clan life, even within his own Clan, and figures the more clever warriors will “sort things out on their own”. Perhaps there’s a bit of cowardice to avoiding the inter-clan strife, but Sootfur would rather focus on completing his duties and raising his kits with his mate, Owlheart.
Rainwhisker:
Tumblr media
Rainwhisker is a calm, level-headed tom. He’s a bit of a problem solver and enjoys training his apprentice, Blossompaw. Though she is his first apprentice, he has found that he has a skill and comfort with training young cats, and hopes to continue teaching apprentices in the future. Though he doesn’t always show it, he loves Clan gossip, much unlike his brother Sootfur. While he prefers not to get involved in whatever exactly is going on with the cats who are criticizing Bramblestar, he sure loves to listen in when they mutter to themselves. If you’re ever wondering who’s been mooning over who or what some cat said about another, Rainwhisker is bound to know what’s going on.

Back to the Future: Resolved Among The Stars (StarClan)
There were many cats in StarClan, Bluestar mused as she padded around in search of her sister, Snowfur. Many had died after the Great Battle, including her successor, Firestar, but many more lived on.
"Hello, Bluestar!" Stonefur meowed from where he and Mosskit chatted happily on Warmrocks.
"Hello, you two. Having fun?"
"Yes!" The little grey and white she-cat flew toward her mother, but Bluestar stopped her from crashing just in time. "Stonefur was telling me about what RiverClan was like! It was fun!"
"I think you would have liked ThunderClan better." The blue-grey leader purred mischievously. "ThunderClan rules!" Bluestar snickered.
"ThunderClan rules!" Mosskit chirped after her mother.
"Hey!" A red-furred tom with bright green eyes padded over at the sight of his family. "I take offense to that!"
"Father!" Mosskit barreled into Oakheart, who received his daughter with open paws. "I bet it's true!" She grinned.
"Yeah, sure, kit. RiverClan cats can swim, but what can you stinky ThunderClan cats do?" He challenged playfully.
"We climb trees!" Mosskit yowled. "Look, Father! I can climb!"
Stonefur, Oakheart, and Bluestar watched as Mosskit scrabbled onto a low-hanging tree branch from a nearby rock.
"Very good!" Bluestar purred. "Now get down before you hurt yourself!"
________________________________________________________________
Firestar glared down at the pool to the living. He'd been in StarClan for more than a quarter moon, and he missed his Clan desperately. It wasn't fair! Why did he have to go when Sandstorm still needed him?
"You can wish all you want, but she won't join you before her time." A dark grey she-cat with a broad, flattened face and piercing orange glare loped over to where the great ginger leader sat. "None of them will."
"There's no use in complaining, but what's the point of StarClan when Sandstorm isn't here to make everything perfect?"
"StarClan is here to wait on those living and help them spend their lives the best they can, so that when they join us it is without regrets."
"What do you know about regrets, Yellowfang?" The ginger leader snapped. "Or Sandstorm and I, for that matter?"
"I know plenty about regrets, young tom." She reminded him. "Your hurts will be smoothed over time, but you cannot interfere with the living. There are plenty of cats in the same predicament as you, Firestar. You are not alone."
The grey medicine cat left her would-be son to his own devices. He would have to learn.
______________________________________________________________
Silverstream stared through a different pool with similar results. At least Greystripe seemed happy with the life he led. Who was she to get in the way of that?
"You shouldn't torture yourself." A gentle voice murmured from not too far away. The silver tabby whirled around at the presence of a new cat. He was ThunderClan by scent, a sandy grey tom with blue eyes.
"My name is Thrushpelt, and I once thought Bluestar hung the moon and scattered the stars." He chuckled softly.
"Her heart belonged to another, and I eventually figured out that she could never love me that way. Certainly, no one could force her to do anything she wasn't interested in."
"You make moving on sound so easy," Silverstream scoffed.
"Whoever thinks that has moss for brains, because moving on hurts. It takes time that you don't want to spend alone and patience that you don't want to have, but mostly it takes understanding. If he really has moved on, then you'll eventually have to do the same."
"Seeing her with him… at least I know he loved me once. But their poor kits… she's definitely no one's mother."
"She never did seem the type. Bluestar was all over the camp chasing after her kits. Always growling at anyone who dared to look at them wrong. Losing them, even the way she did, it broke her. I don't know this cat well enough, but she seems too… unattached."
"I feel terrible for being so selfish. She's done nothing to me. Has done more for me than I can say. But…"
"You love him. That might not go away." Thrushpelt offered, flicking his tail. "And it doesn't have to, because some part of him still loves you. I mean look at her."
"There are plenty of grey cats around." Silverstream snorted.
"Oh, it's more than that." Thrushpelt deadpanned. They snickered.
"I feel bad for her kits." The RiverClan she-cat admitted. "I know that my friends and family did right by Stormfur and Feathertail. They turned out wonderfully…" She purred thoughtfully.
"I don't think, had I been around to raise them, that I would have done as good a job. So I'm kind of glad that I wasn't. But I watch her with her kits and… I just want to scream every time she pushes poor Blossomfall away. And by the Stars, it's a wonder that Bumblestripe turned out the way he did. But then maybe Greystripe had more of a paw in things than he was willing to show."
"Well, the kid's no Ashfur."
"Ugh, do not dare mention that wretched tom! It's a wonder no one has tried chasing him across the border, that-."
"He wouldn't survive there. And someone here knew it. His actions later in life were absolutely reproachable, but overall he was a good warrior. I have to believe that, or what does that make me?"
"Better than that fleabag, for sure." Silverstream scoffed. "I might not approve of what Millie does, but that doesn't mean I want her gone! He just… ugh, I don't get why."
"Ask him someday. He's of sound mind with plenty to reflect on. He might give you a straight answer."
________________________________________________________________
"Hello," Cinderpelt bristled before the sound of the familiar voice reached her ears. She hated when cats snuck up on her. Getting shocked out of your fur was not fun, no matter how many times Squirrelflight tried it as an apprentice.
"Whitestorm, Lionheart." She dipped her head to the white tom and the golden tabby in turn. "What can I do for you?"
"I say we start with a walk and go from there." Whitestorm offered. "There are some things that were never truly explained."
Yes, there were. Like why Lionheart wasn't their father even though they'd grown up with him. Or why one of her littermates was named after a golden ShadowClan tom that looked eerily similar to him. Or why she had a completely dark grey pelt when nobody else, not even her mother's parents, were anything remotely resembling her. The closest she could possibly fathom was Fuzzypelt, and he was pure black.
If Lionheart was her father, she could get it from Smallear. Maybe something like a duller version of Fuzzypelt's… but that made no sense. Even now she had no clue who her father was. Her mother had never wanted to talk about it with any of them, but Cinderpelt knew she stood out. Like a fox in the leafbare snow, she stood out against her literally golden family!
No one ever teased her for it, and she never felt that she was lacking as a kit. Lionheart was great, at first. But then he got Greystripe for an apprentice and he stopped seeing them that often. Then he became deputy and he couldn't play with them at all. She'd never asked Frostfur out of respect for her mother. Why bring in any unnecessary grief? Frostfur would tell Cinderpelt when she was ready.
"I suppose you're wondering about your true heritage." Her mother's uneasy voice drifted to her ears.
Apparently, Frostfur was ready.
"I fell for a ShadowClan tom in my youth. Brackenfoot."
"So my brother was named for his father?" Cinderpelt snorted. "Wasn't that a little risky?"
"It was a one-time thing. I'd just become a warrior and boy, was I reveling in it. Bluestar was so proud of me! I was perfect, just like my sister. We got away with everything until Willowpelt and the tortoiseshell twins became warriors. I fancied myself in love, but he never told me it was a onetime thing. He certainly never told me that he had a mate."
"Whoa… when did he get a mate?!"
"Well, he was a ShadowClan cat. Much older than I was. I was looking for some attention and I found it… oh, did I find it. I tracked down his mate not too long after you all were born, told her everything, all but broke down in front of her… she just stared at me. I had no idea what she was thinking, but eventually, she said that it wasn't entirely my fault.
He made his decision, and even if it hadn't been me, he would have found some other young cat. It was a bad habit of his. She made me swear to never tell anyone who fathered my kits, and I was perfectly okay with that. Brindleface never told anyone who fathered Ashfur and Ferncloud either, so I was glad to know I wasn't the only one. Besides, we queens are allowed to have a few secrets."
"So we were, what, mistakes? And what about the part where I'm my mentor's younger sister?!"
"You are absolutely no one's mistake, sweet one. I need you to remember that, no matter what happens from here. I love you and your brothers with the heat of a million stars, and knowing who your father is won't make me stop."
___________________________________________________________
The last thing Bluestar remembers is playing with her youngest and feeling happier than she had in moons.
The last thing Thrushpelt recalled, he was talking to Silverstream about letting go of someone you couldn't have.
Firestar was wrapped up in the trauma every StarClan cat felt when they first arrived, and likely would remain so for half a moon. There were plenty of cats waiting and willing to help him through settling in. The ginger leader of ThunderClan would be fine.
Whitestorm padded easily beside Lionheart, hoping that Cinderpelt and her mother talked things out and Frostfur would, at the very least, no longer be an anxious wreck. Perhaps even pleasant.
Cinderpelt was shocked beyond belief. There was an old rule that queens didn't have to tell Clanmates who fathered their kits. This was definitely why, she realized.
A dark wave washed over all of StarClan and the voices of the First Ancestors could be heard for miles.
"TIME SHALL RECLAIM WHAT HAS BEEN LOST TO SOME, AND OTHERS SHALL HEAL REGARDLESS."

heres my lengthy wc au that is loosely based off of sonic forces. theres a few details missing bc i was getting bored of typing jdhgfg
- Medicine Cats are allowed to have kits, as long as there's another or a Medicine Cat Apprentice around - Cinderpelt is still living, hence why Leafpool was able to have The Three with no consecquences - No one knows who The Three's dad is, but nobody really cares either since that's info moms can withhold - Hollyleaf is a Medicine Cat, while Lionblaze and Jayfeather are warriors...mainly because I always thought her name would fit a Medicine Cat :P. She knows basic combat however, since that's also a thing Medicine Cats learn in this verse - Lionblaze is a trans molly at some point, Heathertail helped her discover this. Mothwing AU reference I just decided to throw in - Dark Forest cats are manifistations of ones negative feelings, the more severe they get the more they can invade the living world, and spread that ability to others that are there. While the Clan cats are able to fight them off well, Ashfur, Sol and later Hollyleaf give them too much ammo - The Three's powers are a bit different; Lionblaze is merely just super strong and agile, not outright invincible. Jayfeather can still sense ones emotions and basically invade ones dreams, and Hollyleaf is able to sense morality. She can tell someone's intentions and overall viewpoint of the world from a glance. I need to think of weaknesses for all of them asfdgh - The Three are also still reincarnations, but also reoccuring ones like how She-Ra/The Avatar works. Their previous incarnations were in previous arcs beforehand, but died towards the end of arc 2 - Some Spirits seem to have enough power to reincarnate, the original Three's Spirits having that sort. However, some may have trouble doing so, and these usually are forgotten about - Oh and Spirits can't fade, so StarClan and the Dark Forest are fuckin packed. They're still big and endless enough though - There's also Spirits that just. kinda hang in the living world - There's like one name change here and that's Brambleclaw. hes Brambleflower now - Brambleflower and Squirrelflight are still mates by the end of Po3, cause there really isn't any reason to split them this time - Ships in this in general: FireSand, BrightCloud, SquirrelBramble, LionCinder, JayKestrel, HollyWillow, IvyBlossom, DoveBriar - Also Brightheart is deputy. That's a reoccuring theme with most AUs I have alongside Brambleflower and the Medicine Cat thing, but yeah - Ashfur had a crush on Brambleflower, but his already bad emotional problems causes him to slowly break after he gets rejected. Upon getting a surprisingly close friendship with Hawkfrost, however, he decides to get with him and move on. Then once Brambleflower kills Hawkfrost, he discreetly plots revenge and helps the Dark Forest invade the living world. When he dies, he goes to the Dark Forest specifically for Hawkfrost, disregarding redemption - Cinderheart obviously is not a reincarnation, she's just named after Cinderpelt due to how much they resemble each other - Jayfeather's stick is just a comfort item - Sol initially led a group of rogues, taking in any form of power they could get. He presumebly had some ability of future telling, which took the interest of rising Dark Forest cats. Tigerstar recruited him, but secretly killed the other members so he could further convince Sol to join his side...and he did - StarClan cats finally manage to find the lost two Spirits, the ones that were apart of The Four but struggled to reincarnate; so they faded away from sight. They are then granted more strength to be given new life, leading to the birth of Dovekit and The Fourth - They also watch over Hollyleaf, trying their best to guide her in the right direction. She does gain a new friend, a Spirit named Fallen Leaves, who also helps her realize she is not evil for what she has done, and that she can still redeem herself - Dovepaw still has her super senses, though this tends to give her sensory overload - Her powers make her popular among other Apprentices, leaving Ivypaw to feel incredibly left out and vulnerable to Dark Forest Spirits. She's also really bad at communicating her issues due to being so closed off, which leads her mind to be taken over by mysterious cats - She becomes a spy for the Dark Forest, while Dovepaw becomes concerned for her sister and overwhelmed by how much responsibility she has - As time passes, Lionblaze basically becomes Dovewing's older sister figure, much to the latter's happiness since her own sister seems to have left her - Everyone questions Ivypaw's distance, to which she reveals what side she truly is now on. As she says, the Dark Forest makes her feel like she has a sense of purpose in life, one she couldn't gain with the Clans. Refusing to listen, she leaves and stays in the Dark Forest for good in her eyes, and becomes Ivypool - While everyone feels betrayed, Ivypool's family is hit the most. Whitewing and Birchfall can't get over their kit becoming evil, while Dovepaw just feels..numb about it. Briarpaw comforts her - After Dovepaw and Briarpaw gain their Warrior, the tree incident happens. Briarlight is paralyzed from the waist down, and she stays in the Medicine Cat den for a bit so they can help her get used to it. She returns, mainly doing patrol duties since it's the easiest for her, cause she's constantly doing a handstand - In turn, Dovewing comforts Briarlight and helps with tramua that lingers after the incident - There's also a bit of Tigerheart and Bumblestripe trying to be mates with Dovewing, but she grows tired of them and tries pushing it all aside to focus more on herself - Sol, after cryptically appearing a few times, finally makes a grand entry and presumebly kills Lionblaze. Dark Forest Spirits start to full on invade the living world, and every cat in the forest bands up with each other to bring things back to normal - Lionblaze is still alive, but was briefly captured by the Dark Forest. She manages to escape, but finds herself nearby a city miles away from home - StarClan, knowing of the dire times, finally full on alerts about The Fourth's existence, sending Dovewing and Jayfeather to go find them. As it turns out, they're an infamous kittypet around the neighborhood due to their powers - The Fourth is recruited and taken in as an Apprentice, being heavily supported by Firestar due to sharing similar experiences - When some cats report seeing Lionblaze, The Fourth is recruited to go locate her. When they find her, they almost drown in frozen water after instinctly running towards her in excitement (they have been already told amazing things abouther). Lionblaze appreciates the love, but warns them to be more careful - Hollyleaf at some point returns, reuniting with her mate Willowshine. While some cats aren't fully trusting of her after what she did, her family wholeheartedly accepts her - There's also another point where Hawkfrost starts to feel pushed away by his dad, which leads to a slowburn redemption that causes Ashfur to calm the fuck down - I haven't thought much what happens inbetween, but towards the end has one big final showdown between the Clans, Rogues, Loners, a few Kittypets, and the Dark Forest - Hollyleaf almost dies, but Leafpool sacrifices herself for her - Firestar and Tigerstar have one, very long fight with each other. Both of them grow tired (Tigerstar may be a Spirit, but his form can still weaken), and after Firestar lands the final blow on Tigerstar, he lets himself get consumed by flames since he only has one life left after all - Hawkfrost, Ivypool, and Ashfur fully redeem themselves, allowing the mates to move on to StarClan while Ivypool returns to ThunderClan to reconile with her sister - Dovewing doesn't instantly forgive her, but is happy to see her sister back - Sol and The Fourth have a lengthy fight as well, with Sol ending up being defeated. The Fourth almost kills him, but they don't have the heart to do so. They discreetly take them back to ThunderClan camp - In the end, the living wins as Dark Forest Spirits are weakened and go back to barely being able to interact with others - Brightheart becomes Brightstar, Squirrelflight being her deputy, Hollyleaf is appointed Medicine Cat, Sol is allowed to stay in ThunderClan and be given a chance as The Fourth requested, and Ferncloud is still alive - The Fourth looks at the sunset while Lionblaze gives a small speech to her. Talking about limitless potential in life, and how you don't really need to restrict yourself. She then lets them choose what they want, to continue living in the Clans and help Sol as they wanted, or return to their kittypet life. They almost choose the former, knowing there's so much they left for a long time...but they kept a promise to Sol, and they feel more intuned to Clan life. So, they hurry back, and are given a Warrior name

Episode 47: Chapters 7-9
Chapter 7
Firestar is patrolling ThunderClan territory by himself, needing some time alone with his thoughts. He is both proud and anxious to be the new leader, especially with Tigerstar still at large. Firestar then finds himself near Twolegplace and feels nostalgic for the life he left behind there. He looks for Princess, but she isn’t around. He notices his old friend Smudge hanging out with a brown tabby she-cat who turns out to be his old Twoleg’s new kittypet. He considers saying hello to Smudge but thinks he’ll look too much like a “ruffian” and scare him.
He then hears Bramblepaw nearby--it turns out his apprentice tailed him out of curiosity for where he was going. Firestar is initially alarmed but is also impressed by Bramblepaw’s tracking skills. He feels guilty for being caught looking at Twolegplace, especially with how Tigerstar acted toward him about it as an apprentice, but Firestar decides to speak honestly to Bramblepaw for once. He confides that he has a sister there and that sometimes comes to look at his old home, but he always comes away knowing he made the right choice to leave. Bramblepaw expresses his own understanding about having his loyalties questioned, as someone who grew up in the shadow of Tigerstar’s past, which makes Firestar feel rightfully guilty for being weird about Bramblepaw since he was a baby.
They share a moment of sympathy, speak briefly about Tawnypaw, and decide to patrol together very cheerfully. As they head back, it starts to snow and Bramblepaw is shocked and delighted because he has never seen it before. Firestar watches his apprentice being a silly little adorable baby cat with fondness and wonders if Tigerstar was ever a silly little adorable baby cat too before becoming an evil big boy cat.
Chapter 8
Firestar and Bramblepaw meet up with Graystripe on the way back home. They later notice Darkstripe speaking to Sorrelkit, one of Willowpelt’s kits. Graystripe decides it’s on sight and immediately tackles Darkstripe. They rush over and see that Sorrelkit has been poisoned by deathberries so Firestar tells Bramblepaw to get Cinderpelt. Cinderpelt manages to treat Sorrelkit with something that makes her throw up the berries but still needs to carry her away to care for her further. Graystripe says he heard Darkstripe telling Sorrelkit to eat the berries, while Darkstripe says he was trying to stop her from eating them. Firestar says they have to wait for Sorrelkit to recover so she can tell them what really happened, but is clearly doubtful of Darkstripe.
Chapter 9
Firestar has asked Graystripe, Sandstorm, and Goldenflower to keep watch over Darkstripe while they wait for Sorrelkit to recover. Brackenfur blames himself for letting Darkstripe out of his sight, but Firestar says it isn’t his fault and to continue watching over him, but this time not in secret. For his blatantly obvious attempt at baby murder, all of the warriors are now shunning Darkstripe.
Meanwhile, Firestar talks to Mousefur about making her apprentice Thornpaw a warrior. He is long overdue to become one, especially after Bluestar’s original refusal to make him, Brightpaw, and Swiftpaw warriors while she was still alive. Cloudtail asks Firestar if he can do anything about changing the awful name Bluestar gave Brightpaw too since he’s the leader now. Firestar decides to talk to One-eye about it, since he’s an elder who had his name changed. Fernpaw, Darkstripe’s apprentice, asks if she can get a new mentor and Firestar promises to find her a good one.
When Firestar does talk to the elders, they are charmingly grumpy but agree that the name Bluestar gave to Brightpaw is shitty. They give him some advice on what to do for the ceremony. Afterward, Firestar takes Thornpaw and Mousefur out on the warrior assessment test, during which Thornpaw notices the scent of some unknown rogue cats, which worries Firestar. Thornpaw does well enough on his test that Firestar holds his warrior naming ceremony later that night, naming him Thornclaw. At the ceremony, he also honors Swiftpaw’s death, thanks Fernpaw and Ashpaw for their help in the plan against the dogs, and does a different ritual to take away the name Bluestar gave Brightpaw, instead renaming her Brightheart. Brightheart is happy with this and Cloudtail talks to Firestar about her picking up training again. Afterward, Cinderpelt comes up to him to say that Sorrelkit is awake and ready to talk.

i was rereading leafpool's wish and i kinda wished the erins thought the friendship between bracken and leaf? its would have been so cool, as brackenfur was cinderpelt's brother? lmao sorry for rambling!!
gosh yeah!! like it was really cute to see them be so close, like i imagine leafpool was def close w/ brackenfur bc he was cinderpelts brother + sorreltail’s mate and leafpool always heard such good things abt him, and because he was just so….nice
i can imagine her venting to him abt the stuff shes going through and abt things that she feels bad abt and then him just offering advice and being there for her, plus she’d always be invited to hang out w/ him and sorreltail bc she’s a close friend of them
she’d also def be “auntie leafpool” to their kittens too tbh

🔫 The fluff, hand it over
alright alright alright we've been going hard on the angst i know.
i'll warn that what passes for Fluff in this au is more hurt/comfort, but i think of it as fluff.
the fluffiest thing has already been shared, and it's tadpole and feathertail in the mountains <3 so is the next fluffiest bit, which is feathertail and the kits.
most of the fluff as a whole revolves around feathertail and the kits, and stormheart and feathertail repairing their relationship
so i think for this one, i'm just going to do quick explanation then excerpt. none of these have any direct incidents, but obviously they surround the whole au.
excerpt one: stonefur and stormpaw return to riverclan (ends in angst)
Mistyfoot.
She is not the same as when he left, but then, neither is he. She presses herself into his side, purring, and he rests his chin on her head.
"Misty," he breathes, focusing on how her purr reverberates through him.
"You were dead," she says.
"So were you."
She steps back, studying him. He thinks — he thinks they both look better than they should, all things considered.
Featherpaw stands behind her, making unblinking eye contact with Stormpaw. Stonefur doesn't think she's grown.
"You're alive," Stormpaw says, and Featherpaw's face contorts.
"I'm not that easy to kill," she mutters.
Stormpaw's jaw clenches. Stonefur should have prepared them for this, should have thought ahead.
"Feather, we just hadn't heard."
"I'm going to sleep," Featherpaw says. "I'll see you later."
Mistyfoot waits until Featherpaw has entered a den to speak. "Don't call her that," she says. "And don't..." She trails off. Stonefur watches how she swallows, how she studies her paws but does not so much as knead the ground.
"I'm sorry," she offers. "We didn't know. She's tired." Mistyfoot watches Stormpaw with pity. Stonefur aches to touch her again, to be assured that she is real and alive and not some ghost sent to torment him.
"I thought she'd be happy," Stormpaw says, scowling.
"She is happy," Mistyfoot says. "She just needs some time."
She takes a deep breath, her shoulders moving. Stonefur does not think about how she's changed because she's not.
"Mudfur might have nests for you," she offers. "I'm sorry. I'll ask Featherpaw about everything in the morning."
Her ears twitch, and Stonefur takes a step forward. Their foreheads meet.
"It's alright," he says. "We're all here, aren't we?"
excerpt two: shadepelt and stonefur's first conversation (more soft than fluff)
He walks into the river alone.
Stormpaw was still asleep when he left, and Mistyfoot and Featherpaw are speaking quietly.
Cinderpelt told him they found his body in the river. He stands in it now, in the shallowest part, where they take young kits to introduce them to water.
He thinks he died. That's how it feels. He doesn't remember the first half-moon in ThunderClan, doesn't remember the fight, doesn't remember things he should remember.
Stormpaw asked him who his mentor was, and Stonefur couldn't remember. He had to ask Mistyfoot.
But he remembers how to swim. They couldn't swim in ThunderClan, not with the only water in their territory a shared border with TigerClan. He walks deeper into the river, taking easy strokes where he can no longer touch the ground.
"Stonefur?" Shadepelt's paw hangs into the water, and her eyes are cautious. Her voice is soft, quieter than he remembers. Or maybe it was always like that.
"Hello, Shadepelt," he purrs. She reaches down, touching her nose to his. "Did you want something?"
She tilts her head. "I'm not sure."
"Do you want to swim with me?"
Shadepelt shakes her head. "I don't really..." She takes a breath, and Stonefur hears her wheeze. "You know, we thought you died."
"I've heard." Stonefur pulls himself out of the river to sit beside her. She looks down at the ripples he leaves behind.
"I wanted to give you a proper funeral," she continues. "Wanted to...your nest was gone. Couldn't save that. But we could still build a shrine."
Shadepelt reaches into the water, flicking aimlessly.
"Leopardstar said no. I was going to do it anyway. But your body was gone, when I went to find it."
She looks up, her amber eyes shining. "Tigerstar said I must have done it. I didn't, obviously. But he said..." Shadepelt presses her nose into his shoulder. "He said someone's bones needed to go on the pile."
Shadepelt pulls back, and Stonefur licks her shoulder.
"I didn't die, so. I guess that plan didn't work out."
excerpt three: stonefur and featherpaw bond (dark humour? but it's cute? idk)
They swim together. Featherpaw sighs every time she goes in the water, her posture changing. Stormpaw hasn't approached the river since they got back; Stonefur hasn't asked why.
"Leopardstar is going to make us warriors soon," she says. "D'you think she'll accept a season of extra battle training in lieu of a final assessment?"
Stonefur laughs, and Featherpaw looks surprised. For a moment, he worries he's misread her, but then she laughs. It is a beautiful sound.
excerpt four: feathertail invites stormheart and stonefur into the den
"We should move your nests to our den," Feathertail says. "We've got space. Mudfur can't keep you forever."
She tilts her head, about to move, but she steps back, away from him.
"Um. I'm going to tell Mistyfoot. And. You know. You know where we sleep."
She steps back again, then turns, trotting towards Mistyfoot, who's talking to another warrior.

literally just every ounce of fluff i've written for this au
the last ask had...a lot of excerpts. but we all (i) deserve some fluff. this will span the range from "hurt-comfort" to "soft but technically angst" to "fluff until you think about it". i don't think there's anything that's just Fluff for this au. because that is almost always "fluff until you think about it." anyway. the rules for inclusion are anything i think of as fluff.
Featherpaw tucks herself underneath Mistyfoot's leg. The warrior shifts, purring, and Featherpaw closes her eyes.
-
Mistyfoot is not there when Tigerstar dies. She is sleeping when he leaves, and she is regretting sleeping when he does not return.
"Leopardstar," Mudfur says. "You have work to do."
Leopardstar stares into their prison for the first time since they were thrown in here. The moon is rising behind her, and Mistyfoot watches Featherpaw's chest rise and fall.
"We're tearing down the Bonepile," Leopardstar says. "You should be there."
Her tail flicks into their space as she leaves. It is the only part of her that enters.
"Featherpaw," Mistyfoot whispers. "Featherpaw, wake up."
Featherpaw wakes quickly. They both learned that lesson well.
"It's late," she mutters, standing, her legs shaking and her ears flattened. Mistyfoot studies the nicks and the way her left ear is torn off. Featherpaw's missing a claw, in a way that won't grow back, and her whole paw has gone stiff. "No one's here."
"Tigerstar is dead," Mistyfoot says. "We're leaving."
Featherpaw laughs.
"I'm serious." Mistyfoot closes her eyes. "We're leaving."
Featherpaw's breath catches. "Together?"
Mistyfoot purrs, licking a stray scrap of fur. It is hopeless — Featherpaw's pelt is scarred and ragged and clawed apart. It is all stray scraps of fur.
"Together."
-
The ThunderClan medicine cat assigns them both to nests, but Stormpaw curls up next to Stonefur. He wants to feel Stonefur's heart beat.
"He might not make it," Cinderpelt cautions. "I can't promise he'll survive the night."
"That's why I have to be here," Stormpaw says. "He won't die alone again."
Cinderpelt presses her nose to his shoulder. "As long as you try to rest," she says. "I'll find you some prey."
-
Tigerstar calls a feast in her name when she arrives. He introduces her to the other apprentices, tells her she is brave and clever and gives her a new mentor, and Tawnypaw feels good.
-
-
He walks into the river alone.
-
They swim together.
-
"Feathertail," he says, his voice raw. He takes a step towards her, and she flinches.
He freezes. Don't call her Feather, Mistyfoot says in the back of his head. Don't show your claws. Don't take the first step.
Stormheart looks at his paws, where his claws knead the ground in anger. He knows better than to make the first mistake, but he's done everything else wrong.
"What do you want?" she asks, narrowing her eyes.
"I miss you," he says. "I just...I miss you."
Feathertail's ears flatten. She looks past his shoulder, not meeting his eyes.
"Stonefur and I..." He takes a breath. She loves you, Stonefur says. She misses you. She doesn't know how to start again. "I thought we could go swimming together."
A peace offering — please let her take it. He hasn't gone in the river since they've returned. He has dipped his paw in for a fish, but he stares at it and sees Stonefur, barely breathing, but Feathertail swims, and maybe she will accept this.
"You don't swim anymore," she says.
"I'm trying." He blinks at her, waiting for her response.
She doesn't blink, but she nods her head briefly. "Tomorrow. I'm tired." Feathertail turns, her tail twitching, and a lump in the back of Stormheart's throat dissolves. It's not no.
-
"We should move your nests to our den," Feathertail says.
Feathertail is leaning against Mistyfoot, and Stormheart purrs despite himself.
-
The first time Feathertail touches him is momentary, but he is not foolish enough to think it is accidental. Her tail brushes him as we she passes him, leaving their den.
-
The second time she touches him, it cannot be mistaken as accidental. She runs her temple against his chin, and purrs.
Stormheart looks at her. He doesn't know what to say.
"You smell like us," she says, and she does it again, but she doesn't pull away.
He wraps his tail around her.
-
"You need to sharpen your claws," Mistyfoot says. "You can't leave them like this, Feathertail."
"It's not like I'm using them."
"Feathertail."
"Mistyfoot."
"Feathertail, the tips of your claws are poking out."
Feathertail flops on the ground, tilting her head back. "Bite them off, then. I'm not sharpening them."
Mistyfoot groans.
-
"You're like Mistyfoot's shadow," he says, and Feathertail's ear twitches. Greystripe is pretty sure the only reason Feathertail is allowed to sit with the deputies is because Russetfur and Mudclaw are afraid of what Greystripe and Mistyfoot would do if they argued.
Mistyfoot glances at her.
"I didn't really..." Feathertail says. "I dunno."
Greystripe sighs. He doesn't — Stormheart came to the first Gathering alone. He knows Feathertail is different, and knowing she is alive means more than anything else, but he is terrified of misstepping.
"Cats of all Clans," Firestar calls, and Feathertail flinches, pressing herself deeper into Mistyfoot's side. The RiverClan deputy licks her head, with the care of a mother, and Greystripe tucks his tail around his paws. What matters is that Feathertail feels safe.
-
He hears her voice on a border patrol. He didn't think RiverClan swam for fun so close to the border, but that's Feathertail, even if he can't make out what she's saying.
"I'll catch up," he says, waving the patrol forward. "Feathertail?" he asks.
The chatter slows, then stops.
"It's me, Greystripe," he adds. "I heard you talking." He pushes forward, to where Feathertail is sitting on the other side of the bank. Mistyfoot is next to her, along with a black she-cat Greystripe doesn't recognize.
"Hey," she says.
"I just wanted to say hi." It feels silly, now. Feathertail was happy; he interrupted them.
"It's good to see you," she says. She glances at Mistyfoot. "Can he...?"
"If you can cross the river," Mistyfoot says, "you can come here."
Greystripe doesn't hesitate. The water is freezing, but he still remembers how to swim.
Feathertail's ear twitches. "How's ThunderClan?"
-
Feathertail wakes up, and the kits are in her nest.
She purrs, and Mothkit stirs, nuzzling into her.
Mosspelt watches them. "They must have crawled to you over night," she says, softly, her tail curled around her litter.
Mothkit kneads at Feathertail's stomach, and she winces.
"I should get them prey," she says.
But Hawkkit and Frogkit are still asleep, tucked around her, like she was sleeping stretched out to give them space to be with her.
"We don't have any apprentices," Mosspelt says, "but I'm sure Dawnflower will poke her head in soon."
Feathertail lowers her head, until her nose is almost touching Tadpolekit. Mothkit settles, falling back asleep stretched out on Feathertail's flank.
Well. If she's not hungry, prey can wait.
-
Now that the kits are apprentices, she's moved back into her den.
Her life is — her life is what passes for normal. She eats prey, she swims, she sits with Mistyfoot, and she listens to her kits tell her about training.
They're apprentices, now, and she thinks that means they're responsible for her. Whether or not that's formal (Leopardstar can hold another ceremony for her when she's dead), they start bringing her prey in the evenings, and they groom her more than the other way around.
She remembers when they were newborns, before they were even named, how they squirmed when she groomed their fur flat. Now, they fight over her.
Quietly.
When they think she won't hear.
But this is — as close to normal as her life will be, she thinks.
Stormheart swims with her, but only sometimes. Sometimes he sits with Shadepelt, and Feathertail teases him. Stonefur goes on patrols sometimes, but not all the time, and when he's not on patrol, he talks to her.
Mistyfoot is the deputy, and she's stepped into her role. Feathertail is happy for her, but being deputy means going on patrol, and overseeing apprentice training, and other things Feathertail doesn't (won't? can't?) do.
When she's in camp, Feathertail still sticks to her side. She doesn't mind when they tease her about it, now, but she still stays there.
"Feathertail, do you want to go for a walk?" Dawnflower is looking at her pleadingly. She's been trying to get Feathertail to go on a walk, or at least to swim somewhere that's not around camp.
"Sure," Feathertail says.
Dawnflower purrs, walking on Feathertail's good side. She doesn't know if it's intentional, but she appreciates it.
This is normal, Feathertail decides. This is — good, maybe.
-
"Who do you think our mentors will be?" Hawkkit asks.
"Blackclaw, Stormheart, and Dawnflower are the only warriors," Frogkit says. "So one of them."
"Dawnflower and Stormheart are too young." Hawkkit flicks his ears. "So I bet two of us will get Leopardstar and Mistyfoot."
"That means one of us is stuck with Blackclaw," Mothkit says. "Bet it's you, Hawkkit."
He tackles her, and they both laugh.
"Whoever it is," Frogkit says, "we'll be there for you. Or me."
"We'll be there for each other no matter what," Hawkkit says. "That's what siblings do."
-
Hawkkit stands on Feathertail's shoulders.
"You're Sunningrocks," he explains, and she laughs.
"Fighting over me?"
"Nah. Mothkit and Frogkit aren't minnow-brained enough to try to knock me off you."
He circles, kneading her back. It is an unspoken truth between them that Feathertail is not to be fought over. Mosspelt is, sometimes, or Dawnflower, but never Feathertail. She is only ever a prize, never a battle ground.
Feathertail purrs, and Hawkkit closes his eyes.
-
When they become apprentices, Feathertail sits at Mistyfoot's side.
Leopardstar makes herself his mentor, and Feathertail cheers their names. She watches them swim across the river and leave camp for the first time, and Hawkpaw can't wait to catch his first piece of prey and bring it back to her.
-
The first time she has a nightmare, she is thankful it is not one that ends in screaming.
Stormheart wakes up, and she's sure she kicked him. She tends to do that, but Mistyfoot wakes up before that. Mistyfoot wakes her up before that.
"You're okay," Stormheart says. She presses her face against him, and he licks the top of her head. "You're okay," he repeats, and she whimpers, the sound muffled by Stormheart's pelt.
Feathertail's legs shake in their makeshift nest. She didn't think about that, when they left. That they wouldn't have nests or dens.
She hates feeling like this, hates that she can't even remember what happened, hates that it doesn't matter because she's still shaking and making sounds she wishes she could stop.
"Hey, hey, hey," Stormheart says. He pulls away from her, and she can't draw herself back in by herself. "You used to...sleep differently, right?" He's looking at her with fear and worry, like he always does when he talks about her time in TigerClan. "When you didn't have a nest."
Feathertail closes her eyes. "Yeah," she says.
"Do you want to try that?"
"It's not very comfortable," she says. "For you."
"I can take some uncomfortable sleep," he says, licking her head again. "C'mon. You used to sleep on top of me when we were kits."
When they were kits, they were the same size. Still, she tucks her head against his neck and lets her legs stretch out across him. Stormheart purrs, and she yawns.
-
Brambleclaw goes hunting the next night. Tawnypelt knows it's because Stormheart hasn't left Feathertail's side, but it's hard not to believe that it's also because he doesn't want to be around her.
She expects it to be uncomfortable silence, or Feathertail and Stormheart ignoring her, but Feathertail is disaffected and exhausted concern.
"You need a medicine cat," she says. "But keep it clean for now."
"I know."
Feathertail flicks her tail. "If it gets worse, you'll die, and then where will we be? Keep it clean."
"I know."
Feathertail ignores Tawnypelt's interjections. "Stormheart, do you remember what sweet sedge looks like?"
"Do you?"
"I remember what it tastes like."
"We haven't crossed any rivers, anyway."
Feathertail sighs. "Mistyfoot would be better at this." She stares at her paws. "At least we have food."
Tawnypelt doesn't think it's supposed to be personal. Feathertail isn't talking to her, not really. She's not talking to either of them. Stormheart touches her shoulder, his eyes wide with concern, but she doesn't look at him.
"Think anything is better than nothing," she says, and then she shakes her head slightly. "I'm tired," she says, half a whisper.
"It's been a long day." Stormheart says, and he lies down next to her. She rests her head on his paws, and Stormheart stares at Tawnypelt, unblinking.
-
The first time she says it, Crowpaw isn't supposed to hear it.
"Do you think the kits are alright?"
"They're not kits anymore," Stormheart says, purring.
Feathertail sighs. "I know. But...I miss them."
-
The second time she says it, she means it.
"Honestly," Feathertail says. "You're worse than my kits."
"You have kits?" Squirrelpaw says.
"Yes?"
Stormheart brushes his tail across Feathertail's back. "Squirrelpaw, Crowpaw, I'll carry you across if you won't get in."
"I'll survive," they say together.
-
Crowpaw finds it hard to resent that Feathertail is practically deadweight. She says StarClan chose her, so there must have been a reason, but with how Tawnypelt looks at her, he knows his opinion is not universal.
She can't even hunt for herself, not really. But Crowpaw finds it hard to mind.
-
They are the earliest risers. Feathertail sprawls in the early sunlight, looking more relaxed than he's seen her.
"Good morning," she says, stretching out her claws. She purrs, flicking her tail, and he sits next to her.
"Good morning, Feathertail." Crowpaw drags his paw behind his head.
Feathertail sighs, sitting up. "You looked like someone."
"It's one of your kits, isn't it?"
"You're clever," she says. "Yes. Like one of my kits."
Feathertail licks her paw, and Crowpaw wonders what he's supposed to say.
-
It happens quickly.
"And what would you know about that?" Tawnypelt says, all dry sarcasm and fronted anger.
Feathertail steps in front of Squirrelpaw, her tail brushing Squirrelpaw's side. "Let her speak."
Tawnypelt snorts, but steps back, waiting for Squirrelpaw to continue.
-
Feathertail licks behind Squirrelpaw's ear. She'd scowl, but Feathertail hasn't touched anyone other than Stormheart.
-
Feathertail says the cold is bad for her, and Brook understands.
"Sleep next to me," she says. "It's warmer."
-
"When did you get so big?" Feathertail asks, leaning her head against his shoulder. He remembers being small enough to hide beneath her; now, he dwarfs her, the tips of her ears just touching the top of his neck.
"Cats grow," he says.
She laughs. "Not as much as you." She takes a deep breath. "Are we moving soon?"
Frogpaw looks at the cats around him. Queens are grooming kits, and senior warriors and deputies are speaking.
"Brambleclaw and Tawnypelt are talking to the leaders," he says, licking the top of Feathertail's head.
"We're leaving soon, then," she says, sighing. "We all talked about where to go next last night."
"Are you ready to leave?"
Feathertail purrs, noncommittal. "Stars give me strength, Frogpaw."
"I'll carry you," he says, without thinking.
Feathertail steps back, her ears flattening. "Don't be silly."
"I will," he repeats. "You said it yourself. I'm bigger, now." He touches his nose to hers. "You can climb on my back."
"I'll think about it," she says. "Come on, now. Stormheart and Squirrelflight are arguing."
-
She sleeps with Mistyfoot. It's an unspoken rule, that they can't join her when she sleeps with Mistyfoot, but Frogpaw finds himself breaking it.
In his defense, Mothwing and Hawkfrost are here too.
Mistyfoot flicks her ears, when she wakes up, and Feathertail sighs.
"I missed you guys," Feathertail says. "I promise I did."
There's a but hanging onto the end of that, one Feathertail isn't going to answer. They know, of course.

Episode 46: Chapter 4-6
Chapter 4
Fireheart wakes up near what appears to be Fourtrees and sees the stars moving above him. Cats of StarClan then come down to greet him and give him his nine lives: Bluestar, Yellowfang, Spottedleaf, Lionheart, Redtail, Silverstream, Runningwind, Brindleface, and Swiftpaw. It's a harrowing process, but Fireheart--now Firestsr--is able to withstand it. The StarClan cats start to chant his new name in celebration, but they're interrupted by a massive pile of carrion and bones appearing behind Firestar. Bluestar gives him a prophecy that warns about something terrible coming. Firestar asks her what it means but he washed away by a sea of blood.
Chapter 5
Firestar wakes up, still terrified and dreaming of blood. Cinderpelt is also awake and the two of them silently make their way out of Mothermouth. Cinderpelt can tell something is wrong and tries to comfort Firestar, but they both need to get going first. Firestar confesses to her that he's always had prophetic dreams since he was a kit, though they're often hard to understand and Cinderpelt advises that he treat them cautiously. They end up resting at Ravenpaw and Barley's farm, where Firestar fills them in about what has happened recently with Bluestar's death and Tigerstar's latest evil plans. Ravenpaw expresses his dismay about what's happened as well as his determination to help ThunderClan against Tigerstar if the time comes.
Chapter 6
Firestar and Cinderpelt return to camp late at night. As news spreads, everyone excitedly comes to welcome them and ooh and aah over their new leader. Cloudtail in particular expresses how confident he is in Firestar's abilities while also condemning StarClan at the same time, which frustrates Firestar.
In the meantime, Firestar thinks about who will be his deputy, not wanting to anger StarClan like Bluestar. He also goes to see Sandstorm, who seems troubled and sad. He realizes quickly that she is worried that his becoming leader will create a distance between them, so he reassures her right away how much he cares for her.
Graystripe later comes to Firestar to say that he knows Firestar would want him to be deputized (and he does), but it would be unwise because no one in ThunderClan trusts him. Firestar agrees and eventually decides to choose Whitestorm instead and he later makes the announcement to the clan. Whitestorm is a popular choice with everyone except Darkstripe, who hangs around being clearly evil as Firestar contemplates the future of the clan and Bluestar's prophecy.
