Today on Bad Batch Twins Brainrot: Tech can bend metal and carry that huge-ass ipsium canister like it's nothing. There is no way he can't pick up his stick insect of a baby brother with one arm and I'm convinced he does so whenever Crosshair's being an extra little shit. Like. I'm just imagining drunk Crosshair about to get himself into hot water and Tech's just "absolutely not" and yoinks his brother like he's a feral cat. And Crosshair is furious because he can never get free and of course Tech's smug about it in his own way

New headcanons for tbb Tech & Crosshair the twins:

- Tech & Crosshair are twins

- They fight a lot ( only in their room )

- Tech likes info dumping to Crosshair just to annoy him

- Both were made at the same time

- They fight about random stuff ( ex; who was jinxed first etc. )

- Crosshair’s a virgin while Tech’s not ( don’t ask me )

- they hold hands sometimes

- they hug each other when sleeping

- Tech is older by 0.000000000003 seconds than Crosshair

- they mixed up Tech and Wrecker’s numbers so now Tech is 9902 and Wrecker is 9903

-Crosshair prefers to be quiet while Tech usually enjoys talking about many things ( ex. Space, how the ship works, etc. )

- Their both good at shooting ( long and short range )

- They can easily learn about different languages ( but Crosshair is a bit slower )

- They can also do calculations quickly ( But Tech can do it in his head while Crosshair needs to write it down to be able to calculate it )

- Tech is stronger than Crosshair and one time carried him in a mission ( cuz he got hurt ) and Tech told him that he weighed like a medium sized pot full of soil with 2 small plants inside, which kinda sounds heavy but it's not

- They both can draw well ( but not as well as Hunter ), while Tech drawing the mechanism of a ship once and Crosshair drawing a sketch of Omega when he was bored ( I'll show the drawing on my next post, not Tech's tho I can't properly draw a spaceship )

A Hole in the Universe

They let him onto the Marauder after a short time, reluctant and suspicious but willing to give that much ground.

Crosshair almost wishes they hadn’t.

The ship looks the same. It smells the same.

It isn’t.

Nothing is.

The first thing he sees are the broken goggles perched on the console like it’s a shrine.

And for a moment, he’s back on Tantiss, waking up from a short afternoon sleep – because what else was there to do?– with his whole body aching like he’d taken a beating, his mind racing, his heart pounding.

He couldn’t breathe. Couldn’t think. He thought his heart might stop as it skipped a beat, then settled, continued pumping. Slow. Steady. Strong.

He’d known then. Weeks before the kid confirmed it.

Crosshair picks up the goggles and slumps into one of the jump chairs.

He feels and hears the others move around him in silence, getting the ship ready for flight.

The Marauder never used to be silent; it had always been full of Tech’s voice, spitting facts or figures, talking of upgrades; full of the sounds of him fiddling with the instrument panel, the wiring, some new device he was working on.

Tech’s presence, Tech’s voice has been the constant in his life since they came out of their growth tubes moments apart, Tech a few seconds earlier than him.

He cradles the goggles. The frame is whole, undented. Barely scratched. The recorder is missing. Taken? He brushes his thumb over the broken lenses; a fine shard of glass bites into his skin, leaves a smear of blood across the glass.

The shudder that passes through him makes the seat vibrate; from the side of his eye, he sees Omega step toward him, sees Hunter shake his head and gently redirect her.

He closes his eyes.

Crosshair’s never been much for the spiritual, doesn’t know what to think about what comes after death or gods or demons or even the Jedi’s Force.

But if the Force is something beyond the flashy moves he’s seen on the battlefield, if it’s the something that ties everything in the universe together, he knows that there’s a ragged hole in it where Tech once was.

A theory:

I do like the theory that Tech snaps out of it himself, but how powerful it would be if Crosshair was the one who snapped him out of it!

Crosshair is the only one who can reach Tech. He knows what he’s going through, knows what it’s like to be under the Empire’s thumb. I know Crosshair was with the Empire willingly, but still.
