After a dramatic and tense 24 hours of racing at Spa (Belgium) Porsche team Rowe Racing car number 98 (Nick Tandy, Earl Bamber and Laurens Vanthoor) claimed overall victory. Nick Tandy nursed the car home over the last few laps with a suspected gearbox oil leak. Ironically, the leaking oil (combined with the very wet conditions) hindered the second placed Audi Sport Team Attempto of Frederic Vervisch, Patric Niederhauser and Mattia Drudi forcing them to settle for the runners up spot. Third place was claimed by another Porsche, this time that of Dinamic Motorsport drivers Sven Müller, Christian Engelhart and Matteo Cairoli.

Pro-Am victors were ultimately the #77 Barwell Motorsport Lamborghini driven by Sandy Mitchell, Leo Machitski as well as the father-son duo of Rob and Ricky Collard.

Gabriele Piana, Michele Beretta, Sergey Afanasiev and Hubert Haupt claimed Silver Cup honours in their Haupt Racing Team Mercedes-AMG GT3 whilst the AM Cup spoils were claimed by the CMR Bentley Continental GT3 of Clement Mateu, Romano Ricci, Stephane Tribaudini and Stephane Lemeret

BENJAMÍN HITES HACE HISTORIA EN LAS 6 HORAS DE NÜRBURGRING

El piloto nacional Benjamín Hites (21 años) está dejando una importante huella en el automovilismo internacional para Chile. Es el primero en competir en un torneo de nivel mundial en el Viejo Mundo en la categoría Gran Turismo (GT). Este fin de semana será el pionero en una carrera de resistencia de 6 horas durante la tercera fecha del GT World Challenge de Europa Powered by AWS en Nürburgring (Alemania), junto a los suizos Alex Fontana y Lucas Légeret en la categoría Silver para pilotos novatos.

La inédita participación de Hites (Fiat-AKKA ASP) será a partir de este viernes 5 con las clasificaciones (13:10 horas de Chile) y el domingo 6 la competencia programada para las 06:45 horas de Chile (11:45 de Alemania) ante 48 participantes, de los cuales 11 pertenecen a la serie Silver donde el de Vitacura buscará el mejor lugar para sumar puntos.

“Es primera vez que competiré en una prueba tan larga, donde de las seis horas, conduciré dos bajo una intensa presión. Las otras cuatro horas se comparten con mis compañeros Légeret y Fontana. Será un gran desafío, pero estoy preparado para eso luego de los entrenamientos y competencias que he realizado hasta ahora”, comentó el representante que participa con los colores de Fiat.

Un total de 48 autos que representan a 10 marcas estarán presente en la sede alemana que regresa al calendario de la Endurance Cup por primera vez desde 2016 en la pista de 5.100 metros que supondrá un desafío muy diferente al que se enfrentó durante la fecha inaugural de la temporada en julio en Imola. Los competidores encontrarán un clima mucho más fresco en la región montañosa de Eifel que las sofocantes temperaturas de verano que experimentaron en el lugar italiano, con máximas de 22 grados pronosticadas para el fin de semana. El circuito en sí es más técnico y angosto, aunque los autos seguirán alcanzando velocidades superiores a 250 kph.

En la prueba de este fin de semana, además de la categoría de Hites, la Silver Cup, tomarán parte la profesional (Pro Cup), profesionales-amateur (Pro-Am Cup) y Amateur (Am Cup). Con el desarrollo de esta prueba comienza un período ajetreado para GT World Challenge de Europa, con una serie de cuatro eventos en seis semanas para un otoño europeo lleno de acción de carreras GT3.

Específicamente en la Copa Silver, con 11 tripulaciones, la batalla del team del chileno, AKKA SPA, será con las escuderías Barwell Motorsport, que logró la victoria en Imola con el Lamborghini #78 de Patrick Kujala, Alex Macdowall y Frederik Schandorff. Se enfrentarán a Garage 59, que agrega al ganador de la clase Total 24 Horas de Spa. También a Madpanda Motorsport, con un ganador Silver con Romain Monti, (Mercedes-AMG #90) junto al argentino Ezequiel Pérez Companc y Patrick Assenheimer.

El equipo del nacional es uno de los tres participantes de Mercedes-AMG, con los favoritos habituales HRT. También competirán los equipos Dinamic Motorsport (Porsche), Tech 1 Racing (Lexus), Attempto Racing (Audi), Team Parker Racing (Bentley), Sainteloc Racing y el Orange1 FFF Racing (Lamborghini) y Sainteloc Racing (Audi).

La primera actividad oficial para el chileno y sus compañeros suizos será este sábado 5 con los entrenamientos libres a las 09:00 horas (03:00 de Chile), seguidos a las 13:35 (07:35 de Chile) por la preclasificación. Los competidores tendrán entonces la oportunidad de estudiar sus datos antes de la importante sesión de clasificación de las 19:10 (13:10 de Chile). El domingo seguirán las 6 horas de la carrera con la bandera verde a las 11:45 (06:45 de Chile).

Divertente e prestigioso tour de force per Valentino Rossi che ha già messo alle spalle lo storico scambio con Lewis Hamilton. Adesso il Dottore si sta concentrando sulla 12 Ore del Golfo. E il centauro pesarese ha chiuso al terzo posto la prima sessione di prove libere. Vale ha mostrato subito un’ottima confidenza con la Ferrari 488 GT3 del team Kessel e dopo appena tre giri ha piazzato il crono di 2’10″452, che resta il miglior riferimento fino a un’ora dal termine. Al volante del bolide V8 del team ticinese sono saliti in sequenza: Alessio Salucci e Luca Marini (il fratello del Dottore) che però non sono riusciti a migliorare la prestazione del campione di Tavullia.

Lamborghini sugli scudi. A fare il miglior giro è infatti la Lamborghini del team Barwell Motorsport, seguita dalla Audi della scuderia Attempto Racing. Si ritorna in pista venerdi mattina per la successiva sessione di prove, poi spazio alle qualifiche divise in tre manche. Valentino Rossi sembra avere le carte in regola per puntare in alto in questa competizione endurance. Molto dipenderà dalle prestazioni dei suoi compagni di scuderia ancora poco avvezzi a certi livelli sulle quattro ruote. Vedremo come finirà.

2018 Lamborghini Hurricane

The 2018 Lamborghini Hurricane is a high-performance sports car produced by the Italian house Lamborghini, it is the successor of the Lamborghini Gallardo. The parent company is the Volkswagen Group. The first version that is presented is the Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4, it presents a 5.2 L V10 engine with 610 HP placed in the rear center position with an integral traction system. Its maximum torque of 560 Nm at 6,500 turns, while the power to weight ratio is 2.33 kg per horsepower. 2018 Lamborghini Hurricane has a double clutch box with seven speeds.

Its platform combines Lamborghini’s carbon fiber technology with aluminum elements, leaving the car’s weight at 1,422 kilograms. A Ferrari 458 Italia weighs 1,380 kilograms. The McLaren MP4-12C weighs 1350kg, having a chassis completely made of carbon fiber and a smaller engine, counting only with rear-wheel drive.

2018 Hurricane maximum speed is 325 km / h (estimated by Lamborghini, but probably under certain conditions exceeds that figure), accelerating from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.2 seconds and 0 to 200 km / h in 9.8 seconds. Deliveries of this car began during the spring of 2014, while its presentation to the public took place at the 84th edition of the Geneva Motor Show.
