AC 3000ME, 1979. The mid-engined AC was first revealed in 1973 and took 6 years to reach any customers. It was powered by Ford's "Essex" 3.0 litre V6 but was outdated by the time it went on sale. Demand was much lower than anticipated and after building around 80 cars production at AC's Thames Ditton factory was halted in 1984. A new company, AC Scotland, moved production to Hillington, Glasgow and a further 30 cars were made but in June 1985 AC Scotland went into receivership.
